3.1 EU/GER with 3G working ROM! - Xoom Android Development

I was curious about, how much work it would be to port the 3.1 3G US ROM to work with European GSM devices, because it looked pretty much as a nearly AOSP build.
I tought, besides some APK/SDK magic it should not be to difficult to get it working. And I was right. It took me about 3 hours of work (with almost no deep Android knowlegde) and now I've got a working German Xoom with 3.1, 1.4.2 Tiamat Kernel and 3G.
It was mainly a little bit flashing and modifing of the build.prop, not even one line of written or changed code! So I wouldn't even call it too much of a "frankenrom".
What is working:
- All Honeycomb 3.1 Features
- WIFI
- USB Host and SD-Card should work (not tested, but at least sdcard is mounted)
- 3G ( tested with Vodafone.de )
What is not working/Missing:
- For my taste the 3G signal strength is to bad
- It does only seem to work with 3G/UMTS not HSDPA for the moment
- Only SIM-Cards without a PIN are working.
To prove that it's working, some pictures:
(Sorry for the bad quaity, it was a little to dark to make really steady shots)

Why I'am posting this here?
In the first place to prove I was right ;-)
But mainly, since I am not mut of an Android developer until now, I would like to find some people who can help me to get the ROM working with European Carriers and PIN-lockes SIM cards.
So please feel free to send me a PM if you think you can help.
I will not send anybody my work just to flash it to their devices. It's far from being in working condition or stable!
PMs which just requesting the ROM will be ignored!

1 million congrats MediumO, this is what I had hoped for. Thank you very much!
This proves that european Xooms do not have to wait for the official 3.1 release to use UMTS, as it was stated so often before.
I am running BRD's 3.1 VZW US ROM on my MZ601, so far without UMTS. I will try to adapt your hints tomorrow and reproduce it. Build.prop and the Kernel parameters also had hit my eye today, looking at dmesg. Will give you an update.
Let's hope HSDPA will be working as well.
Kudos!

Thread closed until a product is ready. Developer, PM me when it is. Thank you

Hi all...
I've been developing bits and pieces of stuff on my phone for my own use and I thought I'd share this with you. Unfortunately it's only useful for people who live in Sydney as it relies on 131500.com.au (locals will know what I'm talking about). Although that service has its own "Mobile" version webpage, I find it very inefficient to type in addresses and not have it remember my last selection - especially since I'm usually already in a hurry if I ever find myself needing to check the timetables.
It's a tiny (but multi-threaded for uber-fast interface) program (30kbs) that remembers your last To/From train stations and will directly fetch the timetable for trains in the next hour in a WebBrowser control. And a single-button (reverse) that gives you the same timetable for the other direction on your way home.
Note: uses internet data! - but only a single page. Probably 1kb or so each time?
Limitations (as by the 131500 mobile service): unable to directly give timetable for connecting trains. ie: both stations must be on the same line
Requires: .NET Compact Framework
Compatible with QVGA/VGA/WVGA devices. But I'm posting under blackstone forum because that's the phone I use
Freeware - and all comments/suggestions etc welcomed. Many thanks!
P.S. At uni now.. so i've only included a crude screenshot. I'll post a proper one if i get a fair bit of interest in this. thanks
hey mate do you think it would be possible to do up a brisbane one?
If there's a website that allows you to look up the brisbane timetables I don't see why not. alternatively if you can source a soft copy of the timetable?
www.qr.com.au
are you able to grab it from there?
Very useful, thanks!

I've just sent an email to QR. Will see what they say first..
It's good but don't like the fact it connects to the net to get the info.
If you look at timetables, they are mostly always the same, so you can get the info currently right now and make an offline version in which the times are accessible whenever and whenever there might be a new timetable, such as the new Chatswood lines, there could be an update button just to get the new times.
Other than that, good start but definitely needs an offline version.

does this version still suffer from lag.. i had an older version, and although it seemed fine for a bit, sometimes the lag was bad enough for you to miss your road.. especially in busy inner-city areas.. does this fix that problem?

Yes, it my case it does still have this lag. It seems to be a flaw in the software, because TomTom on the same HD does not show a noticable lag.
IGO's gps lag is really annoying. I propose to start a new topic for this. I am pretty sure there are many users of IGO (8.3.2.97313) that experience (or have experienced) the same problem. There's only one person needed to give us the solution
Please help !!!

New Build released
DOWNLOAD & WATCH VIDEO
Please report bugs and wishes on Cyanogen-Group on my site. This build has JIT Enabled Dalvik VM. What's next: I could play around in next release with zip-aligning + odexing. Compcache-Tuning and some othe rthings. Need feedback. Perhaps anyone wanna help? Thank you
Sounds great! How about battery management?
Looking forward to it.
No doubts: You're great.
Can't wait anymore...
But google don't like cyanogen?
can't wait anymore
it's cool new for me.
you are very fast dude....simply awesome
just one suggestion .........you should spend some time with your wife you know......atleast weekends
Thanks, can't wait
The biggest problem with Android is the battery drain, so would be awesome to get a "normal" battery life
First post updated with video
the speed seems to brilliant...nexus on has on the same benchmark 26 frames...very nice
Just curious, the CM build is based on the 5.0.x series? It looks to me like a 5.0.8 test build because of the ADW Launcher.
Also, are you doing this for GSM or CDMA phones?
Please forgive the newb questions, I'm only just now coming into owning one of these by way of a gift. I'm coming from N1's and 32A Magic
this is ridiculously COOL and looks fast!! i have already gone for desire, but this will keep my diamond shine forever!
looking forward to your update.
really nice
i'll look for a diamond for testing
Waiting for release too Seems to be so much more usable than other builds.
I am polishing up the 2 different builds. I do the best I can to release them as soon as possible. So stay tuned
Great video. Can't wait to test this on my Touch Diamond. This is a fully flashable ROM?
No it runs via HARET
hurry,hurry
topaz100 can use ?
Released on my website. But don't expect too much for now. There are some bugs / problems to solve. So go grab it in Cyanogen-Group on neopeek.com

[Port][ROM]Gone TeamGalaxySense Htc Sense Port...READ THE WHOLE FIRST POST!!!

This is the internal alpha of our team's last effort, first of all its an alpha build, so dont expect it to be a day to day use rom, theres a lot of bugs/issues so many its useless to post them here lol, main issues that pretty much halted the project were these two:
1.Phone Service crashing on wcdma bands.
2.Htc lockscreen call gets delayed by 5min or more.
No one on the team manage to fix these two and so everything just went to a stop cause of this, sorry if people got disappointed but we all tried our best, with these been said please follow this rules after downloading the internal alpha:
1.Do not report bugs
2.Do not make post like "its laggy omfg" "my raindeer dint come for xmas cause of this ****ty rom!!" "dad grounded me cause of downloading romporn" "oh mah gawd bugxor rom no work bull**** ahhhh!" really we dont care at this point.
3.Dont flame us because we dint deliver a working rom...
Anyways download it try it, and if you feel like you can fix it then please do so, thats why we decided to release it, so that maybe someone out there can fix it, supposedly theres another team porting sense to the SGS devices, personally i haven't seen it, also if theres indeed one there assholes, for never contacting us or sharing ideas with us, i mean dont we all want the same thing?? but hey maybe they grabbed one of our alpha builds, and work't of that, idk and at this point i dont care, so anyways enjoy the rom.
Working stuff:
1.wifi
2.bluetooth(sort off..)
3.audio
4.sdcards
5.GPS(device goes nuts, dont ask why)
6.Charging
7.Hardware/soft keys
8.Restarting the device from power of menu.
Not working:
1.camera
2.phone service
3.HTC usb menu (can be fixed with a script made by dexter, and smali to some jar's)
4.Turning of the device
5.HTC's hibernate mode
6.Lockscreen( pressing power to bring the phone from standby will not get a lockscreen after like 5min, plug the device to usb cable and it should bring the lockscreen up)
7.Other things i might have forgotten.
Credits, in no specific order!
Whosdaman, for bringing everyone together.
Dexter_NLB, for fixing almost all the hardware on the rom(awesome job bro)
kaik_343, for fixing/helping me on the captivate port( appreciate all your help bro)

Mssmision, advising me and kaik regarding the port( again thx for all your help bro)
Jamezelle, for also giving us advised regarding the port.
My self, for working on the captivate port lol(awkward)

[April 1st]Gingerbread Sense w/ 720p Recording & WiFi Calling[Kernel:CMYLXGO af1]

DO NOT PM ME ASKING QUESTIONS. ALL QUESTIONS SHOULD BE ASKED IN THIS SUPPORT THREAD.
If you do so you will be ignored!
This ROM is perfect in every way. Everything works and will be the last ROM you will ever flash. It has all the T-Mobile apps included. You would be A Fool if you flashed this rom. I have implemented a new compression algorythm that has compressed the image by 53%. This technique has also increased the speed by 45% and has been confirmed with quadrant. This is a Win Win for both LEO515 and LEO1024 users. If you are not T-Mobile everything should work for you, however, this ROM was optimized for T-Mobile.
Everything is loaded into NAND. This ROM is not squashed and is ment to be super fast for LEO1024 owners. There have been reports of 1ma current draw in standby with this ROM. So not only is it fast, it also makes love to your battery slowly.
