[NS4G][ROM][CM7][WIP][UNOFFICIAL] Latest Nightly Working [TEAMWIN] - Nexus S 4G Android Development

Time Has Come!!!
All the features I've been able to compile into CM7 for the NS4G will be available on the nightly published Saturday (5/21) evening (plus lots of nemith's fixes)!
Myself and other teamw.in members will continue to help out with the NS4G CM7 effort!
nemith is running the show as the NS4G CM7 maintainer! Lets support him!
We are all on irc.freenode.net in #NexusS4G. Feel free to join us!
Enjoy my last version (5/21/2011 - 1am)!
New Official CM7 NS4G Thread
One last link: cm_crespo4g_full-2-jk.zip
Added the libakm.so library for rotation. Should be in nightly 3.
Please use the official nightly releases for CM7 on the NS4G
Everything below this text is no longer supported.

Toastcfh, toastcfh, and toastcfh ... plus teamwin !!
Background:
Hopefully I didn't miss this and somebody already posted! I don't keep up on the forums as much as I'd like!
Toastcfh gave me some directions on how to get cm7 compiling ... and the rest is teamwin magic!
I basically kang'd crespo files and referenced the supersonic (my previous phone) plus cm7 already grabbed most of the crespo4g files from the aosp commits. After all that it, compiling was downhill. I've got it booted and running on my NS4G for 45 min now.
I'm posting the .zip for everybody to test and try. I'm doing my best to push the changes I've made to CM7 so they can officially be included in the nightlies!
Sorry for the lack of details. Wanted to get this out to everybody as soon as I was able to confirm it works. I will update as the night goes on and tomorrow
Goal:
Get all my configuration and changes merged into the official CM7 for NS4G so all can build this ROM for themselves! Once there is a version of CM7 (might need a guide) for all users to compile, I plan to stop posting personal builds and redirect everybody to the official CM7 NS4G nightlies!
Nemith, the official CM7 maintainer is doing a great job helping me and all CM7 NS4G users!
Thank you everybody for the support and troubleshooting!

yea, netarchy's kernel *should* work!

Becareful when clicking the music widget when it asks you what music player you open it with if you have downloaded the Music Beta player. DON"T CHOOSE IT.. Choose the regular (blue speaker icon) one instead. Or you'll get force closes.

Details:
This rom is basically a highly themed CM7.2. I give all credit to the developers of LiGux, Coopoui, CM, and the Heroc. It includes the expanded LiGux settings which allows a lot of customization. I'll expand on customization/options in the second post. It features an MIUI-ish expanded statusbar with toggles for all the common settings.
Modifications(by ajrty33):
Removed Chinese from many, many various locations
Edited build.prop to remove unnecessary info and align it with current CM build.prop
Removed battery and memory tweaks from boot.img
Removed a few init tweaks
Modified updater-script to align with up-to-date CM standards
Changed available cpu freqs to standards in boot.img and framework
Edited eri.xml in framework-res to add Sprint
Replaced PinyinIME with LatinIME (keyboard)
Edited MMS settings in framework to remove Chinese carriers and align with CM settings
Edited apn settings in framework to align with CM
Fixed a few mis-translated words and a couple missing translations
Fixed text sizes in apps that were lost in translation
Fixed messaging menu force close with Kirin update
Updated included gapps
Updated Coopoui and LiGux to latest available versions (3.2)
Updated system files to latest from CM
Removed Chinese 'market crack' options (plan on removing this completely from settings)
Added 'missing' apks and removed Chinese apks
Fixed a few mistakes and a whole lotta little things.
have built in the Latest LV kernel(thanks to reimer for this!)

BUILD CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS RELEASE

* Edited LatinIME to match the gray-ish theme
* Fixed Chinese "new" message icon

* Changed some text to fit better
* LiGux lockscreen (make sure you click it to allow it)

LV kernel will give u a little more speed than the fly kernel normally, fly kernel is better for the battery, they are pretty much the same but i preferred the lv kernel cos of the responsiveness increase in most roms that i get out of it...

With a device like the Galaxy Nexus and it's power. There's no need for a slim version unless if you want to make it for the G1
I love my GN. I made it my full-time device so no flashing for me

figured out the problem, it was in my update script on how it was trying to mount system. links updated on the first post. same as this one ( http://www.box.com/s/zf4652eggxpo2i2tjvtc)

Maguro places the boot a new way. It should be fixed now. If you don't want redownload the ROM, you can open up your updater script within the zip file and edit the lines at the end where it says assert(package_extract ( ....
delete "/tmp/boot.img) with
package_extract_file("boot.img", "/dev/block/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.0/by-name/boot");
This is the change i made. line after this should unmount system. Please let me know how it goes and thanks for trying.

Hey ya,
Nice work so far, it boots .
Actually it works quite well the only thing which I found was that the camera isn't working. I attached a logcat for you. I hope it helps. Error is quite at the end. But I thought it's probably a good idea if you have the full logcat. So you can see how the Rom is behaving.
What I've done is:
1. Press the Power Button to wake the device up.
2. Unlock the screen.
3. Press the camera icon. (The camera crashes immediately)
4. Pessed the camera icon again just to be sure.
I reinstalled Email, Exchange, Marketupater, Market and talk if that matters.
I used ES File Explorer to put them into /system/app.
I didn't reinstalled any other apps then the few above.

CWM is a no go also

Exactly that
If you guys want to flash the ROM do this.. Go into the ROM zip...META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script...open with Notepad or similar and change "toro"
to "toroplus"
there are two "toro"s that you need to change, and both are at the very beginning of the text.

Let me know if you get the mobile network working. So far, I havent connected to sprint. I believe it was the same way on AOKP when they first brought JB to the toroplus. Easy fix (I think) for the Devs.

I have the Sprint CDMA variant, so no.
I can use another phone for a while and use my LG for testing if you want mate. I don't know any technical stuff but I can give you a novice end users feedback.
My other phone will be available Friday so would that be ok?
I can start giving you feed back from Saturday morning western Australia time

I forgot to change the device name in the boardconfig.mk assert options
Temp Fix:
Yeah for that you have to got into the zip /META-INF/com/google/android/ updater script and delete the assert function this line
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "geeb" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "geeb");
save the script and flash again
Ok guys i found the error why the kernel was crashing ,because of linaro , the default CM kernel can't be compiled with linaro right now for this device, i am again compiling ....you may find the build either late tonight or tomorrow morning

It can be compiled with GCC 4.7, be it linaro or google. When it come to GCC 4.8, you will have a few change to do.

Maybe but compiling with linaro right now is making the kernel crash because for the rest of the device my builds without linaro are running fine and for this device i am using the cm kernel nothing else...
and a recognized developer from another forum also confirmed me the same.. it was instructed to change the choice got example
https://github.com/CarbonDev/android_build/commit/90834385dc6bda878f9a8a0359721a79e77e0633
Anyways the build is ready ...upload failed at 74 % now tomorrow morning i will upload it

Updater script fails, just delete the
Code:
assert(getprop("ro.bootloader") == "HHZ11k");
from the updater_script
If you're too lazy to do so, I uploaded today's build with the fixed updater_script so it should flash.

EOS for hammerhead....now we're talking... I remember how nice EOS builds were on my old galaxy nexus, maybe even my Epic4G too... Heck yeah..thanks OP, BRD and rest of TeamEOS!
Thanks for the great rom. I know EOS from my Nexus 7 and looked around here in N5 Forum but dont find it. Now the waiting has an and. Are there any optimized bionic/dalvik files included or not?
I've been waiting for you guys! I was a big fan of your work on the Gnex. Your all's ROM was my daily driver from very early on. Thank you for bringing your work to the N5! *flashing*
Updated OP, now shinier thanks to brd!

Is the kernel coming with the ROM untouched stock?
However, you guys are so popular that I have no other choice than flashing your ROM
Never heard of this ROM before, I'm sure willing to give it a try, but whats special about it?
Downloading. Love giving new Roms a whirl ☺

Really nice rom. Extremely quick and snappy. Will report on battery tomorrow. Has everything I need, quick settings, center clock etc.
Just curious if theme manager will be updated to new one?
Thanks ☺
running smooth. but please add remove all button for recent apps
The NX Gesture Navigation Bar is great. Would it be possible to add "last app" as a gesture command?
Already found small bug: Can't turn crt animation off. If set to "don't show", it is still there.
EDIT: Another: When weather is set to C° system ui will constantly fc. Only a hard reboot helps. After doing that, weather is acutally working. I'm just afraid of touching the settings again
But well, I don't want to be fussy. You've guys have done a great work. This will be my daily driver for the next time
