Headphones - Atrix 4G Accessories

Im looking for headphones that have music seek controls (forward and back), pause, and a mic. They have to be compatible with the Atrix, as my nexus headphones are not.
Sent from my GingerBlur'd, de-odex'd, modded Motorola Atrix 4G (ish.)

Sony Ericsson MW600. Bluetooth headphones that work pretty well with the Atrix.

you need to make sure you have compatible software (music player) - there are only 4 wires (connections) - left and right audio, mic, and ground - putting more buttons doesn't change this fact.
Something has to interpret what connections you are making and breaking and turn that into actions.

I use these for both travel, and to drown out noise at work while I am constipating deeply:
Motorola S9-HD
So far I have had 5 hours battery life on a full charge, despite reading previously that a full charge was 2-1/2 - 3 hours. Now I have had time to really use them I have found it to be good. Also, the mic, although in one of the earpieces has had good feedback as far as people hearing me on calls. Atrix battery barely drains while using these over bluetooth.

I have the original S9 headphones, this 'sport headset' stopped working because of moisture while using at the gym. I just put them in a box, but discovered that this is a major and longstanding issue that Motorola refuses to address. Sound familiar?

I hear the S10 headphone are horrendous. The reviews on amazon are bad.
I have a S9-HD (came from moto warranty), and they are pretty good with Atrix. My previous phone seemed to hate them. Coudln't get a foot away without it cracking out. Seems to work okay with Atrix.
Just make sure you buy them from moto or amazon... there are a lot of fakes.
Other ones I like are the HT820's from moto, but I don't htink they sell them anymore. They are kind of big (and hurt your ears until you get used to them), but they have amazing range and like 15 hours of battery.

Have you considered something like the jabra bt3030? Has controls and Mic but allow you to use your own headphones quality headphones. I think there is also a jabra clip or something like that. Might be worth looking into.

I have some S10s. Had a set of S9s before that. Sound reproduction on both isn't the best but as functional devices they are excellent. For good quality a headphone rather than an earphone is the way to go.
Only real downside is that the earbuds tend to ping off in your bag.
Haven't had any issues with moisture either. Even dropped my S9s in the sink once and they were fine afterwards.

I was actually looking to something similar. I tried to plug in the headphones that came with my iPhone but it doesn't seem to work for some reason. Anybody know of anything that is under the $30 mark? Don't want to spend a fortune for a wireless bluetooth headset

I still haven't figured out why they won't work. My wife picked up a set of Bose headphones from Sam's for her iPhone and the button works on my Atrix, but the stock iPhone headset doesn't.

Its most likely proprietary, like everything apple makes is.

I got my set at Fry's for $50. I can see them being a problem with someone with a large head though, as the cord isn't very long. I also have experience with the Moto S10's which are also nice.
Sony Ericsson MW600 Bluetooth. They are in-ear earbuds but you can simply unplug them and plug in any other headphone that have the 3.5mm plug turning them into Bluetooth. So you can take your favorite wired headphone and make them Bluetooth. I wear them everyday and they are only $40-$50 on Amazon.

I recently bought a pair of future sound lab zero headphones (also for use at the gym) and am quite satisfied with them. Very comfortable and great sound quality.
Only annoyance is the non-standard charging plug. Would've been better if they'd used a mini or micro usb port.
I really like my chinese BH-503 headphones. It's seems to be original Nokia, but so cheap on chinese shops (you can easily find it on ebay). Good sound quality and work time.

I've been using these for about 3 years without a problem. Paired with Poweramp's equaliser, you can really tune them to suit your taste and genre of music. They're also decent on battery, cheap, and eady to modify.
I bought a pair of Motorola S305 headphones, they are over the ear style, the band goes behind the neck, they charge with standard micro usb, the sound is decent, a little static in my ears on phone calls, but people say they can hear me better than on my phone alone. I've recommended them to my friends, and four of them bought them, all but one still loving them. The other sold them for inner ear bud style ones.
I'm still using mine, still loving them

New stereo bluetooth headset

Now i've searched in another forum but they didn't quite understand me.. what I want is a both ears headset, my old one broke, it was the plantronics backbeat 903+, it was practecly perfect.. 7 hours listening to music, complete control over the phone from the headset.. I'm looking for something similer, someone recommended the backbeat GO, but they only have 4 hours.. and it's nothing.. despite how awesome they look.. so.. any suggestions?
tnx in advance.
I have Sony Ericsson Bluetooth dongle. It comes with in ear headphones, but the dongle itself has 3.5 mm input. Yo can use it with all kind of headphones. 10 hours non stop music. And the sound is crystal clear.

I've never done an actual benchmark test on the battery. Perhaps this weekend, I'll pair it with my laptop and leave it streaming throughout the day(s)

I have an LG Tone headset too (HPS-730). They are pretty comfortable and claimed to have a talk time of 15hours. Although i haven't yet tested that to the max, but i've run through the whole day without charging them.
GS3 has aptX,and the problem is that there are almost no BT headphones that take advantage of this. I have Samsung HS3000 and use with good quality IEMs. It is not as good quality as wired, but is way better than non-aptX headsets.
If you are determined to get a native BT, it is a pretty short list with aptX, like maybe 2-3.
There's a brand new Motorola Bluetooth (S-11 maybe?) Headset which replaces the S10. It has apt-x, the earbuds are adjustable, looks pretty nice. No personal experience though.
I freakin' love my Jabra Sport. Comfortable, light weight, and holds enough charge for 4 trips to the gym each week. And the sound quality is great, with plenty of volume. (http://www.jabra.com/products/bluetooth/jabra_sport/jabra_sport)
I've had the Moto S9 and S10 (essentially identical) and they suck. Moisture always gets in and they stop working. Sound quality is weak and the volume isn't loud enough. Avoid these at all costs. Look at any list of reviews on these and you'll see the same results from everyone.

I had seen this before posting. My concerns with this are
1) Battery consumption (because of bluetooth)
2) I will be little uncomfortable to have something around my neck.
3) Fear of dropping them.
4) Looking at them they look hard (unable to fold) so storing in small bag pockets will be an issue.
5) Price (ouch little too much).

I'd recommend looking into LG Quadbeat 2, or spend slightly more on Brainwavz R1.
I believe some of the Soundmagic earphones have mic/remote but also look into Meelectronics.
Keep in mind, I'll never recommend something that won't have "better than expected" sound quality, so if you do listen to music, you'll be pleased.

Well technically, if all you need is a mic, every set of wired earbuds out there comes with one. The left earbud is both a speaker and a mic, so if you really wanted to, you could answer your phone calls by popping your left earbud out and talking into that.
Saves you the trouble if you have a nice set of buds already! Now controls and volume are a different matter! heh.

Have you tried it? It does work.
I've answered calls with various earbuds and I just did it with now with my JVC HA-FX3X earphones in my Nexus 5.
You can do a google search for left earphone is a microphone and you'll find various results.
This person did it with it hooked up to a mixer, then to a camera, but I just did it hooked to the headphone jack in the Nexus 5. Works the same.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1YH7fuXk8I
If the mic on the headset is important (it is to me), then it can be a pain to find a pair that works well.
I have tried a few popular models (BT and wired) and none of them work well. The microphone is always muffled and quiet.
Eventually I settled on the (grasp) Apple Earpod, which is actually a brilliant set. The microphone is loud and clear and the sound quality is decent for what it is. The volume buttons expectedly don't work, but the center button works and you can always use an app like Headset Button Controller.

i really like them for working out or running. they stay in place. the only con i have about them is that if you wear them with the cord behind your neck sometimes they can get caught when turning your head certain ways. to avoid that now i just wear them with the cord to the front. doesnt look as cool lol but cant feel anything but the buds in your ears. the sound quality is decent. one big thing i loved about these tho is that when you're wearing them it doesnt feel like you're covering your ears with your hands and can hear everything like footsteps or anything rubbing up against you. i originaly bought some jaybirds and they did exactly that, it was just too annoying for the price i had paid. i could hear my footsteps in my head and the cord rubbing up against my neck, you had to put the music too loud to try and cover the noises but you could always hear it
Great, thanks for all the replies guys.

Libratone Q Adapt USB-C
Libratone Q Adapt BT (over ear)
Other models from AiAiAi and Master and Dymanic are coming soon, but most of them are over ear. There's a full list here.
I have the Rowkin's for my in ear bluetooth currently. Can't get much smaller than that.
Lastly, since you asked about in ear USB-C, you can try these out from Zorloo. I had a pair of their Micro-USB Ze:ro's and loved them.

Is there any options for bluetooth 5.0 headphones? Is there any benefit to having BT5.0? The range on my current BT headphones is very weak especially when in my workout carrying case.
I have the Plantronics Backbeat Fit, and I love them. They sound really good (not premium, high-end I don't think), they don't move around when I'm working out, and they are super comfortable. They have a new gen out too. I think I paid $65-70 for them open box?
I checked out reviews for all of the major headphone brands, also tried out a couple cheaper ones. Most did not fair well in reviews except this set, and the others I tried were not good.

Is there any options for bluetooth 5.0 headphones? Is there any benefit to having BT5.0? The range on my current BT headphones is very weak especially when in my workout carrying case.

Bluetooth 5 has a range 120 to 140 feet, as apposed to 33 feet with most 4.1 bluetooth devices. But you will need a bluetooth device that matches the bluetooth accessory to get the distance. There are also other enhancements such as multiple devices can be used at the same time. I read an articel on this a few weeks ago. I hope my memory has given you some big enhancements with bluetooth 5.

Bose sound sport wireless for the win. They are awesome sound quality. 150 bucks. In my opinion the new truly wireless 250 dollar ones aren't worth it.
I bought these when I was waiting on my Essential to come, and they actually worked really well. Wasn't sure about the whole noise cancelling thing, but since they don't need to be charged separately (the phone powers the noise cancelling), I figured I would give them a shot. Really liked them, but ended up returning the Essential in favor of the 2 XL, so now I'm just hoping they're compatible, but I'm hoping that won't be an issue...they're not the most comfortable, since they have the large rubber things so they stay in place for active folks (I'm not one of them), but I got used to them. And the noise cancelling and ambient noise feature are actually pretty useful. But they've been sitting dormant since I returned the Essential and came back to good old Shamu (If only I could find a reverse 3.5mm -> USB-C adapter hahah). The fact that I got them for like $80 (down from $200 which is just ridiculous) made it a pretty good deal in my mind. The 17th can't come soon enough!
PS I wanted earbuds and didn't want wireless, or anything that needed to be charged, but the options seem to be extremely limited at this point

Lastly, since you asked about in ear USB-C, you can try https://www.zorloo.com/product-page/aero-digital-earphone-usb-c these out from Zorloo. I had a pair of their Micro-USB Ze:ro's and loved them.

How loud did they get? At 100% I would like the music to be uncomfortably loud.
I'm also extremely interested in the https://en-us.sennheiser.com/headphones-bluetooth-hd1-free - Sennheiser HD1 Free. The HD1 non free has great reviews.
I ordered these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y686X78/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ep_dp_Qa53zbXQQ9TVS - TaoTronics Bluetooth Headphones Model Ft-bh16 for a temporary pair and backup.

Yep, I love mine. They sound REALLY good for just being little earbuds. I've had very nice over-ear headphones, currently have a pair of AiAiAi's, and the fit beats are pretty good! Jump rope is the only thing I've found that makes them budge. Floor workouts, everything else they don't move.

Another agreed, they are excellent for my HIIT cardio workouts and reasonable price!
I love my PowerBeats 2. I previously tested a bunch of different Bluetooth headphones for the gym and these are the only ones that stay in my ears consistently and have excellent sound. Battery life is around 8 hours and the Bluetooth connection distance is quite good. I can put my phone on a ledge and work my way through a ~100ft area for the weights and never lose signal.
If I decide to go with the Pixel 2 XL (still debating) I'll be getting the PowerBeats 3 for the gym and leave my PowerBeats 2 at my office desk. One area of contention with the loss of the headphone jack is that I work from home full time and have various clients calling me multiple times a day. So I usually have a set of wired headphones sitting on my desk that I can quickly plug in before answering the phone. With the 2 XL I won't have that option so I'll resort to the PowerBeats 2 to always be ready to quickly turn on and pair.
For those wondering, the PowerBeats 3 are essentially the same as the previous generation but with an even greater Bluetooth signal range and longer battery life.
I have been using the Samsung Gear Circle for years. They sounds great, stay in my ear while at the gym and the battery seems to last forever.

These headphones have lasted through 2 washes for me. They sound great if you squeeze them into your ear canal, but I can't think of a way to keepnthem in like that. Otherwise they are great because they hang on and don't fall out.
