Skin, case, with sliding lense cover? - Galaxy S II Accessories

Simple eh? but can I find one???
Dont want a pouch, flip or sock.. a simple skin, or hard case with a sliding lense protector, afterall, these hi end phones now come with hi end cameras, so why not protect the lenses???
The camera is another rmain feature of the phone, yet no one seems to protect it???

Have the same problem. For now i think i wait for the martin field screen protector and hope it contains a rear camera protector. Expensive because its only for the rear camera protector, and for now its not on stock.

Not aware of that brand.. Id of assumed any sort of direct contact lense protector would affect the optics or image quality?

If its good clear, not more than the glass already covering the camera lens.

i havent seen any lens protector or any case with this feature.
best thing u can get is a case whose surface stay above the lens so that it wont come into contact when u place the phone on a flat surface
because i wont use the camera that much, i will use the plastic cover that came with the phone, cut it and stick it on the lens (any adhesive plastic that does not leave residue behind would be valid). That way i expect the lens to be clean when i need it and to avoid minor scratches.

screen protector for the camera lens?

I know it sound stupid, but the camera lens does stick out. Is there anything out there that can protect it from getting scratch up?
Typically screen protectors have holes in them for the cameras.
With that said, I am not aware of any. Once i get a case for the device, I am hoping that will extend just a hair past the camera so that it is recessed.
About 99% sure there won't be any. No one wants a film over the lens. Well , mostly no one. Present company excluded.
I have used bestskinsever.com full body on my G1. Covers the camera lens, it does not affect the quality of the camera.
Well the phone does not SIT ON THE LENS....It does sit on the ring around the lens... so we should be fine
looking at mine the lense seems to protrude form the ring.
i found camera phone lense protectors at a store called daiso near my house. only $1.50

Yes, it does...look closely.
Just get either the Body Glove case or Seidio Innocase II and that will fix the camera lens problem. The lens now won't be exposed.
Martin fields screen protectors used to have little pieces they include with their screen protectors for exposed camera surfaces...i dunno if they're gonna make a screen protector for the Evo though
I make my own lense protector.
1. Trace outline
2. Put over extra screen protector from a 5 pack and cut.

I don't think theres anything you can do. *Any* kind of protector will greatly affect image quality. It's just the way things are. Best bet is to find a case with some kind of removable cover?
Or is it possible to buy only the back cover of the phone?
I meant the battery door ...
I still remember the olden days, I was trying to replace the back cover of my HTC Kaiser and it was difficult to find.

not sure how an extra battery door will help protect your camera lens?
But yea, I'm sure you'll be able to find replacement back covers in due time.

Search eBay now, they're available. I bought one.
Martin Fields protectors almost always include a camera lens protector. I don't think their protector pack is out yet for the gn though.
yea..back covers all over ebay.
Is there any chance the camera lens cover is glass? On my HTC Desire it was hardened plastic (part of battery case) and I went through 3 back covers over 2 years due to nasty scratches on the lens cover. I think the cover on the nexus looks glass though? I think covering it with anything might cloud images, but keeping it in a pouch would be good idea. Keep it from rubbing against grit in pocket or surfaces.

Camera lens

Is the camera lens made of glass?
I really don't want to put a protector on it fearing it would alter photos.

I'm pretty sure you won't find a protector that covers the camera. Both my front and back protectors go around the camera.
fairly sure the camera lens is glass- mine already has two small chips in it. Not happy about it, as this is my first of 5+ phones to have anything like this happen to the camera.
Doesn't seem to effect the images, but i am still not pleased.

There is a company that offers a protector for the lens. I forgot which it is, but 1 does have it.

It's the Martin Fields one, 99% sure
sorry to revive this thread but is there anyone that knows for sure if the camera lens cover is glass of plastic? just curious because i have some scratches on mine that i was going to try to buff out with a plastic-x headlight scratch remover.
this stuff works great on hard plastic and just wanted confirmation before applying it to a glass cover. thanks

Scratches on camera lens front glass?

As the camera lens front glass seems to rest on the surface when you lay your note on a flat surface i bought a ringke slim case to protect it. Really disliked the case, slippery and made it bulkier.. and bought a samsung original flipcase instead, i like it a lot but my concern is if anyone have had problems with scratched camera lens front glass as the flipcase back is similar to the original backplate?
Nop buddy. Your camera is safe..

If you see the camera lens, its engraved insyd the cover, so a surface wont scratch it. Make sure no sharp object touches the lens, thats all.
I've been using Samsung flipcase for quite some time now.

Thanks, yes you're right..my concern was probably based on that i've seen so many posts about owners of note II mentioning camera protection when they buy a case for it..
B.T.W love the flip cover when taking photos, half open it helps getting stable shots with a lot less shake, I get a better grip around the phone and half open the flip doesn't block the camera lens at all..
I replaced my GS2 casing because of a scratch on the lens. I thought that I scored a good deal on it, but I noticed that it got lots of fine scratches very easily, resulting in a loss of sharpness.
Lesson learnt for me to only use original parts if it ever happens to my GN2.
I have a flip case, but it doesn't offer any shock protection. I'd love a flipcase that does.

Rear camera glass lens scratched badly

Hey guys i have notice just one day out of my regular case my rear camera glass lens is scratched really. not a big issue as camera app does not capture scratched line but still how is it this easy to be scratched. also searching for replacement parts and tutorial how to change lens
i put my phone in my pocket without protecting the back len, no scratch till now. i guess your regular case is extremely dirty.
I've always had that when you see it in the sunlight but my pictures remain good.

ok it happen to me now, i realise the scratch only happen after i remove the screen protector. i suspect that the anodizing of protector is the one that remove the anti scratch property of zenfone 2 screen.
PSA, do not use screen protector if you want to remove it in future.
Yep mine to it has some bad scratches i am really dissapointed with the quality and i was careful at least image quality is still fine
Im still looking for frame or rear glass replacement parts. Incase i need them. Image is fine but all scratched up . Lol
I man handle my phones like crazy no case past and present. I never ever had a scratch on my camera. Either your glass is bad or your doing something terribly wrong
