Uninstall BBC iPlayer - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Hello all
The BBC iPlayer comes preinstalled when I bought this phone from the UK for use in Australia. Since this app does not work outside the UK, is there a way to uninstall this? There isn't an uninstall button when I goto Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications.
Thanks!

Root device and use Titanium backup to uninstall.

[Q] Rooted HTC Desire (GSM) Cm7 but FC in 3.1.3 market

Hi everyone~ I am a Hong Kong user and i got a problem on the new market 3.1.3
My desire is rooted, S-off and in using Cm7 (7.0.3-Desire)
Around a month ago, I found that the market icon is changed into "3D-market icon" . I really surprise that the market is updated AUTOMATICALLY Then, the nightmare has started...
First, the market is loading and pop-out Accept or Decline, of course i choose Accept~
Second, the market is loading the User-Interface. and then Force Close!!!!
I try to do everything to turn everything back to normal (2.3.6 market), therefore I found that I can uninstall the update in setting-> application-> market.
Then the market is back to normal~~
Unfortunately, Today... I can not do the "uninstall the update" because the update speed is so fast!!! I mean the market become updated to 3.1.3 when i just launch about 20seconds
What is the problem...? I search about the keyword about "3.1.3 market Cm7" and found many people have the same problem but i don't know how to fix it (For example, how to change the resolution of the screen?)
(My English is not good...plx help me and hope you know what i am saying and finally thx for your helping...)
The same for me. And I don't want to give up CM7
did you guys tried to go into settings/applications and delete market data and cache? even reboot?
if u dont want the auto update anymore, u can freeze with titanium backup the app "market updater"

Thx for helping~ I checked that there is no cache in the market
Should I try clear data?
Moreover, could you quote more information about "titanium backup" ? I totally don't know what is the important of it.
clear data too..u only lost the market settings, which u can set again later anyway
the otehr option, if the above doesn't work, is to uninstall update, and with titanium backups choice "Market Updater" click on it and choice block or frize..so that app will no longer auto update ur market

you said uninstall update... but I found that the market updater (4.00KB) is not allow me to uninstall it, there is no uninstall button.
Anyway~ I download titanium backup and try to freeze the market updater and i successfully get into the market and no update happen Hope this can fix the problem forever~~ Thx bro~
Btw, i would like to know that will Cm7 release the most updated G-app package for us ? haha~
Had the same problem... There is a problem with some languages/keyboard.
Go to Settings > Language & Keyboard > Select language and choose English (United Kingdom), then try to open tha market app...
It worked for me!

After you choose English(United kingdom), you can launch 3.1.3 market?
Otherwise, I just use titanium backup to freeze the market updater, It seems worked for my desire Cm7
I got same problem before.. fixed by wipe all data, cache and reinstall the rom. Not sure if it works for you.
Another solution is to find Market version 2 and update it from recovery

Really? Ha
Not for me though. I get the same force close as above (after accepting the download). My logcat shows that it doesnt like my hboot controlled 5 MB cache partition

Is it safe to uninstall above apps? and how to uninstall?
thanks
You have to root your phone. Then browse to /system/app with Root Explorer for example and delete the .apk-files you don't need. Reboot phone. The apps listed above could be deleted without any problems, but don't delete too much of the other apps in /system/app.

I will not recommend u to remove Videos as it is the default app to open the video u record via camera. It might cause some problem I think.
Other apps u mentioned above are safe to remove.

I would say using Titanium backup to remove would be a better way than manually delete them. At least u can choose to make a backup of apps before deleting them. So u can restore them back anytime if something goes wrong.
This is for Galaxy S2,but also suitable for Galaxy W

Yes, u can resume all system apps if u have backup them at first. But if u are trying to use system apps from previous firmware on the later one, it might cause some problem like FC.

Freeze = Frozen. Iced. Fridged.
Uninstalling = Remove. Gone if w/o backup

what i mean is if we have new firmware available and i try to update my firmware, are the system apps ive deleted automatically restored? i think yes because it is always included on the official firmware.

They will be restored if you update via Odin or Kies. OTA updates will not replace the deleted files.

Freezing Apps with MyBackup Pro or Titanium Backup

Once you freeze an app, is there a way to keep it from showing up in the play store update list? Or does it have to be removed for it to not show up?
Also, with MyBackup Pro is there a way to remove carrier bloat or is freezing my only option? I currently own a copy of MyBackup Pro and would rather use that than paying for TB.

If your rooted why not just manually remove the bloat?
I guess, since I only recently rooted I didn't realize there was a way to manually remove some of the bloat add-on applications. How would one go about removing them manually?

In titanium backup you have the option to uninstall apps under batch. Just make sure you uncheck everything first then check whatever you want to uninstall.

I guess that is one reason to use TB over MyBackup Pro. Was just trying to save a few dollars and not have to own a copy of both.
Any other way to remove bloat?
Seems I overlooked an Uninstall option in MyBackup Pro.
I'm now looking for a way that uninstalled items do not keep showing updates available in the Play Store. Any options?
TiB will let you disassociate them with Market/Play
27. Can I tell the Market that I do not want to update a specific app?
Yes. Just long-click on an app in the Titanium Backup list and hit “Detach from Market”.

Is unstalling apps my brick the phone?

Hi Guys, I have Question.
Lets say i rooted my device, L-04E
after root i started to remove some basic application (by the provider, as docomo).
1) Can i brick my phone by removing these applications?
2) Is factory reset will install them back? or i need to do restore?
i am about to try:
Root
Backup all these provider apps (as dialer, etc..)
uninstall all the annoying apps
am i missing something?
Don't unninstall, freeze them (TiBU, App Quarantine, etc) and set the QuickButton to open the app you`re using to freeze them just in case you f*ck up the launcher.
There will no problem, good luck.

I believe titanium backup (tibu) needs root but the app description should tell you if it needs root or not. Just check the app description before downloading.

[Q] problems with S-Note - rooting ?

Hi,
I have a note 10.1 edition 2014. I'm using S-Note intensivly. Now S-Note crashes often. I'm thinking of un- and reinstalling it. But it seems that i can't uninstall it without root acces. If i'd have, would it be able to uninstall S-Note ? How could i do that ? I don't find S-Note in the settings to choose it for uninstalling. And if i'd be able to uninstall it, where do i find it for reinstalling ? It does not seem to be in the Appstore.
Thanks for any hint.
Bernd
You wouldn't need to uninstall it, just clear data for the app through the application manager. Make sure you have all of your notes backed up first.
Hi,
i have a backup. But where can i clear the data ? I don't find S-Note in the application manager.
Bernd
You need to swipe over to the "All" section, it won't show up in the "Downloaded" list.

Hi,
i found it and deleted the data. But unfortunately the app still crashes. Any further ideas ?

Well I recommend you to use iroot (formerly known as vroot) software to root your device cause it works like a charm especially on Samsung devices....
