Using sgs2 as wireless (multi) touchpad - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

A friend has apples multi touch pad for his macbook and it works really for general browsing/videos etc (that with a kb). I have been trying a few, none really allowed pinch to zoom. Does anybody know if its possible?
While searching, I found one called idisplay,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09RTD_2bRaA
it extends your win7 desktop to your phone, then you can use the phoens touch screen to move around!

why use your phone as a mouse pad when you have a keyboard and mouse dedicated for your pc ?

Because sometimes its nice to be able to shut the pc down from bed
and yes im that lazy. I have my tv hooked up to my pc and i use remote
droid to control what im playing on the tv or even vlc remote.
Remote droid has the touchpad but i dont know if its multitouch.

at home my pc is hooked up to my hdtv, so when sitting on the couch my mouse doesnt work so well. I could buy a new mouse, but after using the magic pad thingy I was thinking it was much easier to move about websites and click on episodes/movies. Im not saying I will get rid of my mouse, just certain times it would be easier for me.
So far, the sonar mouse works best (anybody else?), but I think it eats up the battery.

Yea im not sure if windows 7 even has pinch to zoom implemented.
maybe on touchscreen monitors but i doubt on the mouse.
I have remote droid setup in my startup list so after ive turned the pc on
i dont even need to touch the damn thing.
Also do you know about remote notifier? to get all your phone notifications
from your phone on your pc. thats good too if say youre phones downstairs.

Was looking for something similar and came across this:

Xoom + Android 3.1 + Logitech DiNovo Mini = perfection

Paired my Logitech DiNovo Mini with my Xoom on 3.1, and both mouse and keyboard in it work perfectly. It is just the right size for getting some work done, though the mouse could use a bit more acceleration
All in all, a great little accessory - next step is to make a charger cable for USB so I can leave the DiNovo adapter at home.

Captivate always on mikey's latest wonder, whether Serendipity or GR-11
I'm uploading a youtube video but will describe my findings with my DiNovo Mini:
- It's responsive enough for government work
- Home is FN-e (explorer)
- Volume Up and Down buttons work
- Rewind, Stop, Play/Pause and Fast Forward all work
- Page Up and Page Down work great in a browser
- Mouse control is great in an RDP client connected to a windows box: I will put my foot in my mouth on this one. This functionality alone enables all levels of professionals to hit the field knowing they can have dependable RDP support and also have the precision and control of a mouse while using the tablet. I could see a doctor carrying this from room to room with a little dinovo mini, setting it down and entering in patient information all while keeping his own equipment secure. The uses are endless.

I have a similar setup and I also swear by PocketCloud.
Out of curiosity since you guys are Pocketcloud users. I just set it up for the first time (thanks for bringing it to my attention!) and was wondering if you guys know if it supports multiple monitor setups? I run 3 mobitors on my main PC and would love to be able to switch between monitors. Is LogMeIn ignition my best bet?
Thanks!

When used in RDP mode I can tell you that it will not. All desktops get squashed into one. VNC mode may be different.

In Logmein, I can pick which monitor I want, or watch all three at the same time. I can select through the menu, or shake to switch. Pretty neat.
I tried also dinovo edge and it working perfect with all the shortcuts and volume slider

my PC
and my Xoom
all on my glorious HDTV..
yeaaaaa
When using the bluetooth keyboard as a keyboard, does the on-screen keyboard still pop-up or do you get to use the Xoom full screen *and* type?

Remote PC

So, the note pro 12.2 is supposed to have a remote PC access app, and I am curious how it works.
I have a high end gaming laptop, and while I do not anticipate accessing my laptop and playing Battlefield 4 or Arkham Origins on it, I would like to do some RTS like Coassacks or Rise of Nations remotely.
The ability to have real time PC like access to such games is leaning me toward the possibility of buying a Surface Pro 2.
For most everything else I like the Notes. I just miss having the games like I can have on windows.
Has anyone tried out the remote PC access app?

Yes, I tried it and it works remarkably well. The response is good and you'll be able to do some basic tasks on the PC without any hassle. Didn't try graphic intensive apps like games though.
Does RemotePC work over different networks (can I access my home computer from a coffee shop)? And any comment on how RemotePC compares to other Remote Desktop apps (specifically Jump Desktop)?
Also is there any pressure sensitivity support in RemotePC?
Thank you
Full screen games will not work. You could try splashtop instead

It's OK minor lag to be expected tried photoshop for a laugh works but hard only thing that's a pain is the scroll bar appearing on screen even if zoomed out does not help on windows 8

yes you can, if you leave your PC open. TeamViewer is very good also, but dunno witch one is better...
Does nobody know about Splashtop? It actually even has gaming support. I used to play Dragon Age on my TF700T through it. (but I do recall something about a monthly fee.)
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk 2
I cannot say much for splashtop since I have not used it, however teamviewer is excellent for getting to your desktop from anywhere, I have used it for months and it's always there and always works. If you have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse you basically have a 12 inch laptop with great battery life.
I would however look into other options for gaming, since by default teamviewer will always route outside of your local network unless configured not to, and this causes some delay determined by the quality of the connection between you and the desktop.
If you use Google Chrome for your browser on your PC then, you can use Chrome Remote Desktop from any Android Device or Chrome Browser. It probably would not work for games but it works great for anything I have used it for plus it is free.
@up
You're right, Google Remote Desktop seems to be working great, the performance is outstanding when compared to other products, including Samsung's Remote PC.
However, there is a seriuos con. Google Product does not support neither S-Pen nor touchscreen input on the remote device, only touch <-> mouse emulation. In result, using it on such a tablet as ours isn't very comfortable, even if there are no performance issues.
ATM Samsung's Remote PC works too sluggish for me, even on a stable connections. Plus, more than one PC cannot be connected for free. Hope Google will add functionality of real touch input emulation soon.
I use the RD that came installed with the tablet and as said previously it works pretty well. Of course is best for office applications maybe not for games.
Teamviewer worked surprisingly well, played latest Civilization on my note pro with a BT-mouse and pretty bad wifi on a hotell a couple of months ago.
I too use Google Remote Desktop. I have it on my Desktop and Laptop and it works perfectly for my needs.
I used Microsoft RD client, it has good support of mouse and keyboard, using the s-pen as a mouse is great. Not for games though

This is the perfect setup for one of my PCs running Windows 8. It's almost seamless and works great with the touch controls.
I used Microsoft RD at my old job site. It was fantastic to remoting in for quick tech jobs/scripts that needed to be pushed out to specific clients or to pull something over to the sharepoint that was stored on a network drive. As a side note, for sharepoint access SharePlus is phenominal and was worth the investment. As for gaming, take a look at Kainy or Moonlight (nvidia card series 600 only.) both of those will stream very well through your network and even over WAN.
I use also Microsoft RDP because the multisession feature is great. But with my SM-P900 I can it only use with a 5.1.1 ROM.

[Q] TV Guide/IR Blaster

Hey all,
I've been using CM for a while, but I always have a lingering regret of going back to stock for the sole purpose of having the TV app. The greatest thing about it was it had a simple TV favourite interface with remote controls and access to other media systems.
Has anyone discovered any apps similar to this? Meaning to take advantage of the IR blaster for the one and have a nice interface with cable TV.

I use the Highly Customizable remote (IR Blaster) called "smart remote" I'ts a little pricey but I believe its well worth it, you can set up anything and everything with it. I have my Denon receiver, BlueRay, Directv, Panasonic Viera TV, and my HD streaming box all connected to the app and if you set it up right you can usually turn all devices on with click of one button, including switching inputs on TV &/or receiver at the same time..here it is on the play market...https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.remotefairy~~~~~it's made for the HTC One, Hope this helps you!!!

Shield ATV Accessories

Did you guys get any of the new accessories? The remote or the stand? What do you think? Both are pretty pricey...

I got the remote, it's on the thin side. Nice for private listening mode, but I'm not so sure it was worth the money, the controller and AndroidTV apps are handier.
Yeah I got the remote. I really like it, but wish it had just one more button - for getting "context" option in kodi. Would have saved the $50 if I'd bothered to read up on it properly before purchasing
Remote here as well, pricey but nice. My Panansonic Vera tv remote works as well, has the directional buttons, just no voice search.
It would be great if I can reuse the remote from my Sony Nsz-gs7 with this thing.

Thank you sooooooo much.
So am I understanding the Sony Nsz-gs7 works fine as a remote? Does the trackpad work? I would guess not, unfortunately.
Yes, I got remote but other accessories are not available here.
Thinking about getting the shield but not too crazy about the $50 remote nor do i like using a game pad for tv. Can anyone suggest a good third party remote that will pair? I got some research to do (not even sure if it bt or wifi). I dont suppose fire tv remote would work? Or any of the several set top box ones i have lying around collecting dust...
If your TV does CEC over HDMI then you can just use that. Most TVs do support this. Works well with my Samsung Smart UHDTV (UN60JU6500), has forward/back/play/pause/arrow keys.
I got the remote in a bundle for around $325us. I am very happy I chose this bundle. The remote is awesome.

I got Samsung SE-506 external dvd/bluray drive (supports AV mode) and it connects to the shield and plays dvds just fine - I love this device!
I hope that kodi or any other apps will some day be able to play back blurays same way as they do playback dvds right now. A man can dream

i like the look of the remote, but also not too crazy about the price either, im currently using mine paired up with my logitech harmony touch.. and have a minix neo a2 air mouse plugged in too for use with certain apps.
learning above that theirs no button for context menu within kodi ill 100% be giving it a miss,
has anybody tried a fire tv remote?
What about the FLIRC universal IR receiver? You just have to configure it in a PC and should work with any remote. I use it with an Harmony remote but on a Windows PC not sure how it will work on android.

Does it need some modification to work,or it is just plug and play?
Camera support on shield ATV
You can also plug a USB camera on the shield and for instance start using a video calling application uniquely available for the Shield ATV. I am not aware of any other set-top-box or Android SmartTV that has camera support.
There is only one video calling app on google play that works perfectly on the Shield ATV called "Tellybean - Easy video calling".

Late reply, but FYI there is also an Android app to use any smartphone/tablet as remote. And voice search is then included :good: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.tv.remote
Or you can use any universal IR remote...

Hi Sectune,
how did you do that? I'm really frustrated, because nearly nothing happend when i tried it.
Only the blue light of the drive flashs every approx. 5 seconds. The drive didn't spin up. I even can't open the drive when it's connected to the shield. Annoying.
So I'm really interested in how you managed it to work.
is there a better controller out there that's 100% compatible? The standard Shield controller is rubbish, IMO.

Control firestick from MacBook?

I thought I was pretty good at googling, but I cannot find a way to use my MacBook keyboard to enter text on my firestick. Maybe controlling the pointer with my trackpad is asking too much, but using my Macbook keyboard would be great. Yes, I already have a Bluetooth keyboard I can use with the firestick, but I always have my MacBook on my lap, and it's a PITA to balance two keyboards on my lap.
What I need:
– No rooting
– Works with Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8
I can't believe that there isn't a web app or APK that lets me do it simply, because there is for my Roku.
