[ROM] **BETA** GreenRom Project Presents - CM7 based 2.3.4 - myTouch 4G Android Development

We have been hard at work over at the Green Rom Project. Thanks to the dev team, we have managed to establish our github and have begun deving our own special rom.
Themeing has begun, but a lot is needing to be themed. It has been cm based for now and is optimized for better performance. It has Launcher2 with auto landscape mode(works like it should), and It has some other minor tweaks that make it ours.
A custom boot animation has been added giving you the GRP experience from the very beginning. We care not that we make a name for ourselves. What we do care about is developing a stable, efficient, fast, and gorgeous rom for others to enjoy, being a testament of what one can do when learning how to develop.
Our site is geared specifically to cater to the noob or even intermediate developer that just wants to learn and have fun doing it, because developing is supposed to be fun otherwise why do it!
***As always we are not responsible for anything that goes wrong with your phone.***
This is our first attempt at creating a community based rom and would like your input. Feel free to contact us here or at our site http://greenromproject.com/forum
Special thanks the following for making this rom possible:
Evervolve-tweaked Lauincher2 making it landscape properly
=========> Available in ROM Manager

its always great to see more devs in the Mytouch 4g section!

Im loving it
Thankyou guys and welcome to the forum...will be checking out your forum soon. (edit) lol wait Stoute and you guys have been here

Flashed the rom but I was never able to connect to the tmobile network voice or data. I tried to search for a provider but none were found. Checked about phone settings and radio off. I also tried to add an apn but it is grayed out and airplane mode would not turn off. Aside from that the rom is smooth and I like the bootanimation, simple but elegant. If you would like a logcat I can try flashing the rom again tomorrow, but tonIght I needed a phone. I love the whole green rom project idea and I am sure to visit the site often. Thanks. Any idea why I am having trouble with the rom?

Sorry for the cloud of darkness and disapearence from this section for so long. We have been working on so much to get theis prepped and ready for launch.
As for the APN, details are below and have been added to the post until we can add it in the script later tonight or tomorrow.
The T-Mobile APN is as follows:
Name: T-Mobile
APN: epc.tmobile.com
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMC: 310
MNC: 260
APN type: default,supl,mms
APN protocol: IPv4
That is what it is straight from a stock MT4G

Not all the roms will be green although we can go that route if it is asked for lol. I created this project in hopes to build a "community" rom where people can weigh in on what they want and majority wins etc. from every little option including themes.
I think one of our other devs is building a miui rom for the Vibrant and we may be porting over CM7 for it as well. He does have a galaxy tab too so I'm sure will get going on those as well. We are always looking for more assistance with these services as the current 7 devs we have will not be able to handle all devices once we move away from CM7 ports.
Join us at our page if you want to help us out!

Run log cat and use pastebin and provide a link. In fact, you might want to post the problems over at greenromproject as well. J bird would mist likely be able to pin point what's causing the problems. There is a section for your device where you can post. This problem should be documented over at our home forum for future reference.

Update has been posted into ROM Manager. Works with t-mobile apns. I downloaded and it seems to be working fine. If you have any issues please let us know. I will edit original post to include BETA for the time being until more people DL the file and notify us of any problems they are experiencing. Thanks for the Feedback.

Where is the Rom
Is it only in Rom Manager?

Where do we get the theme that's in the screen shots? I thought it would of been in the rom by default.

I have the same problem with the cellular radio not working. WiFi works though. Also, this rom is easily the SLOWEST one I've ever put on my phone! Only when I overclocked it to 1.5 using setcpu did it become usable.

this one is: 2.10.1530.1
the previous leak was built on: 4-27-11
this one: 4-28-11

Do any of these panache leaks actually need the new radio or is the stock one fine? Normally I upgrade to latest radio for better signal.
In regards to apn.. did u add apns-conf.xml to system/etc?

I love how everyone is asking questions like has this or that been added. Hows the xxx. Cmon peeps, he states in the op he didn't do anything but cook the leak. So the answer to everyones questions. NO!! No apn, no mms fix, no swype. As far as I can tell so far this is exactly the same with exception of the icons mentioned.

@ck thanks, it's good enough you don't need to add anything. Pure Sense UI is the best.

Exactly the reason i didn't want to release this leak on its own... I got it since last night and I thought about having too many leaked ROMs with just a name change would lead to mass confusion and Q&A nightmare. We should merge all the Panache Leaked ROM under 1 unified thread, this would help users with the same questions for all these Panache clones.

[Q] mms fix for evo on cricket?

Does anyone have a mms fix for EVO on cricket...please point me in the right direction...don't mean to be a noob just need some assistance..thanks
Did you back up apn settings with apn backup app and then disk drive your phone and edit the backup apn.xml file and put your "[email protected]" then make sure you save it as is and disconnect drive from pc then open apn backup app and delete all apns and then click restore select the .xml you edited then save exit. Go grab the mms.zip and flash it through recovery menu. Better explained here.

I have never been able to get MMS working in AOSP on Cricket. I can do it in any Sense rom but the APN settings in AOSP never seem to stick or work correcty.
This is the one and only reason I'm still running a Sense rom. I want badly to run AOSP so I can link up a controller to my phone but I send and receive far too many pictures to give that capability up.

He respond yes but when asked if he would mind sharing the replys stopped. After a month I emaild him again and got this "No, sorry. [ROM] CM9| 12.02.20 *By Epsylon*

Here is the latest update for CM9 pulled straight from the Defy forums CM9-NIGHTLY-120220-kobe.zip. No probelms now, I did have to just switch the radio band. To get it working find out your carriers frequency and go to Settings -> Advanced -> Baseband switcher and select the frequency like it from the list (I'm on At&t and use the Argentina RT 1900/850mhz baseband under Americas). Then of course you have to edit your apn to your carriers apn for data (Settings -> Wireless and networks -> more... -> mobile networks -> Access point names) the At&t apn is:
Code:
Name: ATT
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
Port: 80
Username: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default,mms,supl
Everything else:

Screenshots in my older thread
Bugs, changelogs, GAPPS, ect in the ORIGINAL THREAD by adi4motion
if you like any of this, go to the thread above and thank Quarx, Epsylon, and the op of the thread.
**from now on, I wont update this, it's pointless. If you want a newer version that comes along, go to the ORIGINAL THREAD by adi4motion, download the newer version and move all contents (from the rom on THIS thread) in /system/ect/motorola to /system/ect/motorola of the newer version. If the camera ever gets fixed for the Defy (fully fixed) this will probably change, maybe Quarx will even help us with CM9 by then.
Thanks! So the camera is working now?

I downloaded this build some days ago from defy forums (quarx build), I changed nothing because this does not contain devtree, boot etc *.img.
Maybe signal is having problems because it is set to hong kong or something like that, change it in baseband switcher in advanced settings.
I always use China ME722 1.10 850/1900/2100

Did you install as primary or as multiboot? If multiboot, do a nandroid and install as primary. I've had "bugs" on multiboot that weren't there when installed as primary.
Other than that, not sure. Check the defy threads to see if they have wifi issues. That said, I've glitches (USB tethering) and didn't see anything about it over at defy dev.
Speculating here, but it could be the slight differences between the defy/bravo are starting to show up as the code matures.

Sent from my MB520 using XDA App
Yes. Multiple times. One file at a time. All the files at once. Changing camera apks. Nothing works. Apparently, ICS has a new hardware framework, and that requires new libraries and new drivers; and those require a skilled programmer. All we can really do is wait for Quarx to get his Bravo and help him bug test when he does. Wish I could say better.
That said, it doesn't hurt to try. Maybe you'll have better luck than myself or anyone else whose attempted.

No Data on cm10

Hi all Got a little issue here running cm10 just flashed from ics looks great runs smooth great job guys but here is the problem no data? I have my epic 4g touch flashed to metro pcs I went thru the instructions several times have wiped everything started over numerous times but still no data. The icons don't come on or anything. At this point I am stuck I have pretty good knowledge on how things work around here if someone can take a moment and point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. I saw another post on no data on cm9 and claims doing a nandroid back up from previous rom then flashing the restoring works but that did not work either was very brief in what he had done so description wasn't very clear. So that I can get a good reply this is exactly what I have at this point: SPH-d710 phone Android ver.4.1.1 Baseband Fh23 Kernel ver. #.).15-cm-g4471ee1 [email protected]#1 CyanogenMod 10-20120901-unofficial-d710 Flashed metro pcs with everything working talk txt web mms. Again Thank you all for any help in this matter these guys do some great stuff and would like to use this software. Keep up the great work guys.
To get data working on non-TW ROMs you have to replace a few files in the ppp folder. I don't have the Metro PCS files though, I only have the Cricket files

This is the thread that lead me in the right direction: http://www.cricketusers.com/sprint-samsung-galaxy-sii-epic-4g-touch/32209-web-cm9.html
And this is the post with the flashable zip: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22162851&postcount=10
It says it works for "alternate carriers" but I'm on Cricket so I'm not sure if it'll work for Metro PCS. You can give it a shot though. Let me know how it goes.
Trying it now thanks will keep you posted on what my findings are thanks again for the pointer fingers crossed.
Was a no go thanks tho hopefully one of the developers will be able to point me in the right direction. Thanks again
Maybe look through this thread? (http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...-evo-all-info-here-rom-metrogenmod-7-1-a.html)
Edit: You could try the AOSP web script from this thread also (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=795182)
I have the exact same problem but am now on blue kuban for the same reason... if you find a solution let us know i might try cm10 again

Sorry for the REALLY late reply.

Found a answer
Ok boys and girls I found the stepping stones to how to make this work now mind you I am still working on it. This is what I have done thus far I went to playstore downloaded apn shortcut as soon as it hits your home screen you can click on it and change your apn settings to whatever carrier you are on then I went to my dialer and typed as follows *#*#4636#*#* this opens a window if you scroll down some you will see it say something other than cdma what you want there is auto cdma (prl) as soon as I did this the data came on now Im not in a good signal area but it came on it only showed 1x tho I do not know if that is because of my area. If anyone can test that and let me know we might have made progress and if I am doing something wrong feel free to tell me what it is. Again any help in this matter is greatly appreciated and if this helps don't forget to say thanks lots of long nights trying to figure this out. :good:
Ok figured out
Finally success the only issue is I'm only getting 1x I flashed the alternative carrier fix then I went to the dailer and typed in *#*#4636#*#* then scrolled down and changed the setting to cdma prl auto and data started working so now Im trying to get answers on 3g coming on sorry took so long to figure out Im still learning myself if you guys need the link I can post it if necessary. Also when you go in and change the setting to cdma prl auto you mayhave to click it a couple times for it to stick it may change itself to unknown just click it againg to cdma prl auto again til you get the data going and then it will stick. If this helps don't forget to say thanks
Lol didn't realize we were on page two didn't see your post I guess my question now is is your 3g working?

Wifi calling discovery

Ive been looking around and researching on how to get wifi calling on AOSP roms. I have made what I believe to be a big discovery. T-mobile now uses IMS for newer android phones, which is UMA/sip etc. I decompiled the ims-service.apk from the stock DLJA rom. I found an XML that contains the settings to use the service! You can get the IMS installer from here http://code.google.com/p/the-ims-open-source-project-for-android/
I put the settings into the app and tried connecting but it came up with ER05, invalid SIM card. I googled that and it I get leads to saying that the sim isn't authenticated for WIFI calling. I know that it is, because it works fine on stock roms. I've also attached a logcat of me attempting to connect. I've attempted to change some of the info of the strings to reflect my personal phone number but that did not change anything.

Great find! Wifi calling is one of my favorite features.

This isn't a suitable thread for "developer discussion." It also doesn't even mention which phone it's for, but based on "DLJA", I'm guessing it's for the SGS3, so it should be moved to the tmobile sgs3 sections.
Take care
Gary
Nice find buddy! Maybe this will go somewhere. Wifi calling is the ONLY feature I miss from touchjizz.

Anyone could have told you it's IMS. I don't get what you "discovered".

Sounds like what he discovered was the xml file with the config in it, but it seems like there must be more to it than that, since it didn't work.

Correct, I found the settings for the application to work, just need to figure out how to fix the sim authentication error. I was hoping someone would be able to chime in and give some advice

Gary moved it out of the Int'l SGS3 Developer's Discussion threads where he has limited Mod powers.
So I took part in a survey this morning sent from T-Mobile. They had some very interesting questions pertaining to Wi-Fi Calling and AOSP ROMS, specifically if I was running on a rooted device, and if I was able to get Wi-Fi calling enabled on whatever ROM I was using. They had other questions about Wi-Fi Calling and how much I would use it, etc...Apparently they're recognizing the community and are starting to ask the right questions. I like this line of thinking!

It would be interesting to see if this worked without errors on galaxy mod. Then we would know if it's touchwiz specific and have a better idea of where to look. I would try it, but I'm pulling half a mbps at home XD

I've written code in C before; isn't there a debugger that could be used so you can step through the code execution step-by-step and see where the problem is?
So is there away to get this to work with asop?

Maybe, we just need someone with time and programming skills in Java and C to figure this out. I only know some C and C++ and have not the time. I would also like to see this work.

What is with your signature? Weird
And I'm sure the aosp devs would include WiFi calling if they knew how to at this point...

Hmm that's pretty sweet. Only time I get surveys is when I have to call them to ***** about the double bill I get every time I change my plan etc.

Let us not assume they are asking these questions to try and help us.. Everything T-Mobile has ever demonstrated toward the hacking community was finding ways to prevent or patch and progress made.. like they're going to assist us with tethering or wifi calling on custom ROMs.. not going to happen.. They are probably asking so they can investigate how it is working on an AOSP ROM and patch the exploit..
