Running bag / case - Galaxy S II Accessories

Hi,
I use my sgsII with runkeeper to track my performance.
Does anyone have experience with a bag /case that will fit the SGSII and can be attached to your arm?

Why not share what you found. In a store? Online? Brand name? A review?

I've ordered the 'Belkin DualFit Armband for Samsung Galaxy S II' online. I´m not yet allowed to post links on XDA(allowed after at least 8 posts), so you will have to look it up yourself.
As soon as I've used it, I will post if its any good.

Nice... i want one too

Thanks for coming back with your solution. It reallys winds me up when people re-post to say they've got a fix, but don't go on to say what it is.

I bought a silicone skin for my SGS2 and wasn't fussed by it so put it in a drawer.
I then found out that my Tunebelt was too small for the SGS2 so I got an old velcro strap from my old Garmin Forerunner and cut 2 slits in the silicone case and pushed the strap through them. It feels really secure as the case is difficult to get off and the velcro strap is secure.
The best thing is that I can easily see the screen when running and it doesn't feel like it will fall off at all.

very good for jogging

If either of you have now received the Belkin armband, do you mind posting a photo of the fit as well as a brief review?

All this arm band have one fault .... If you sweat a lot perspiration going through and the worse scenario is when your galaxy stops working because is wet . It happened to me after running 10 km and I had to dry it , because touch screen stopped working . I was really scared !!! Fortunately phone works now but I bought

A fairly simple although crude solution for this is placing the phone in a small zip-loc type bag before slipping it in to the armband.

Give that its soft leather not hard plastic I would assume so.
Did Motorola just released an official case of this? You bet!!
So with soft leather the scratching issue should be a thing of the past.
But for me the huge news and most important part is that they put three standing positions on it (instead of two of the previews case). That gives three viewing angles to this case (plus one flat view) with the lower one as showing to the picture to be what is called the "typing angle"!!!
So in summary, for me, this case is nothing less than a perfection of the original case!!
THUMBS UP!!

The problem I have with the current hard plastic folio case is that the Xoom is too heavy and doesn't stay at the lower "typing angle" notch w/o slipping and folding totally flat.
I don't see how this leather case would work differently.
That's what I like on the Apple iPad cases (either the original or the new smart cover) is that the typing angle setting is pretty solid/stable, and the device doesn't "slip" and drop completely flat while you're typing or even clicking icons/links/etc.

Just thought I would mention this. We finally now have an official Leather Folio case solution sold directly from Verizon. It is a foldable leather case like ones for the ipad. I dont have a picture of it now but will post one tommorow. You will not find this case online. For some reason only employees have been told about it but anyone should be able to order it from customer service or through a store's ordering option.
The regular folio case looks like this:

There is no cutout at the bottom for charging. See the pictures I posted at the URL provided in the post above.
It is very similar to the Moto Folio case in design, much "sexier" in appearance though.
Just ordered one myself. Should be here in a couple of days.
Convincing the Verizon guy that I didn't want the plastic one was a bit of a chore. Thankfully I had the part number from this thread.

[MINI REVIEW] Cheap Waterproof case.

Well I ordered it from eBay and it arrived today so as promised here's a micro review.
First impressions are not bad, I can't complain considering the price I paid for it and, for something to use whilst out walking or just using in the bath (pretty light duty stuff) etc... It will do the job quite nicely. You can use the Tab with it in the case and it works really well considering I have a screen protector on it too.
It doesn't have a cut out in the back to use the camera but it's no big deal.
I have the book cover case for my Tab, but it will not fit in the water proof case if the Tab wearing it, so you have to remove this first.
I've uploaded a video to YouTube if you want to see it in action.
And here is a bit more closer detail about it.
1) First Zip Lock
2) Second Zip Lock
3) Velcro to protect the locks

All in all, It's not bad, granted it's not a WaterBuoy or an Aquapac case but you get what you pay for, so if you want something to keep the rain off it or just peice of mind when using it on the beach (just anywhere near water really LOL) then the "eBay Special" will do the job just fine.... First ever review complete
Original Post
I was going to purchase one of the waterproof cases for my Tab from either eBay or Amazon, but has anyone here already bought one that can comment on how water tight they actually are?
Would you trust it to keep your device safe if it fell into the bath for example and could you use the camera whilst it is in the case etc etc... I'm mainly wanting one so it'll stay nice and dry whilst using it for Ordinance Survey maps whilst on walks and also if i drop it in a stream for example.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated if someone has bought one that is.
If no one has however, then I'll get one anyway and review it on here, in case anyone else is also interested in getting one.

Well this is one them, however, I ordered mine from ebay.

There is another one eBay for £30 but I thought I might as well get the cheaper one first, as it maybe just fine for my needs, if not then I'll get the more expensive one.
Either way I'll let everyone know what its like when it arrives.
From your link:
"Boxed-product Weight: 64 Kg"
I really hope they made a mistake here . But even with forgetting the decimal and accidentally writing Kg instead of pound or something it would be quite heavy, as 6.4 pounds are almost 3 kilograms.
The product description does not provide much but I would be surprised if you will be able to use the Tab while in the case. It looks to me to be a waterproof cover that will protect the tab if it gets dropped in water but will require you to remove the tab to do anything.
There are excellent waterproof cases on the market for Apple products. I have one for my iPhone that offers full functionality while in the case and will protect the device even if it is submerged in 8 feet of water for over 24 hours, (I tested it). The manufacturer is LifeProof. They do not have a Tab version yet but are considering it. Otterbox is another manufacturer with a good product for iPhones and iPads.
The problem for manufacturers considering making products for the Android market is that Android tablets come in many sizes and shapes and are constantly being modified. By the time they produce the tooling to make a case for a particular device, that device is off the market. Apple is a much slower moving target so this is where the resources go.

If this is what you mean, you can get them at: http://www.breffo.com
They have a store built into the site.
Pretty sure you want something like this Arkon smartphone tripod:
edit: I've used that mobile grip holder with the Galaxy Nexus on a car mount, and it fits fine. It should fit most cases, might be a tight fit with those super rugged / thick cases.
http://www.arkon.com/accessories/smart-phone-tripod-camera-stand.html
$18 on arkon's site.
Should come in handy for the time-lapse feature.

Bumping because I too need a tripod. The generic cameraphone one I bought barely fits and nearly snaps every time I use it. Its only a matter of time until I need a real tripod.

then get a gorilla pod. Should be a little bit more versatile and I can use a regular tripod at any time if I needed to thanks the the mounting hole.

Review: Ultra Slim plastic case.

Just purchased this plastic case from china costing me less than USD 0.50, this case look very similar to the samsung original slim case posted in other threads.
Some members actually say cheap stuff is never good, I think otherwise, I think this is better than the samsung version, as the samsung one does not cover the whole rim of the phone.
Anyway this case has a perfect fit that protects the whole rim of the SGS3 apart from the bottom part as seen in the photo's which is need to insert and remove the phone from the case.
Available in 9 colours
Where did you buy it? ebay seller or link? Thanks
Link please!

Same here; looked on ebay and I didn't find the same.
As stated in the first post I got it fom china, there is no link.
This is the very type of case I usually end up leaving on my phone, it's scratch protection, super minimalist.
Grip is usually nice, it's snug, form fitting. Judging by your pictures, it's cut out are precise.
One doubt is the sudden missing bottom front portion, wonder what for.. Is there actually a piece of the case going into the usb port?
I would definitely buy these at even twice their price
EDIT: ebay search "i9300 tpu ultra slim or thin" comes up with 2 similar styles.
The material is flexi plastic, and the fit is like perfect, so without the bottom part rim removed it's not possible to put and remove the phone from the case.
The samsung version doesn't have this, but the case only covers only half of the rim on all sides, members with the samsung case will know what I mean.

did you look at www.armpocket.com ? they have one that is large enough for the phone, a couple credit cards, cash, your car keys, and fits comfortably on the arm. The armband comes in 3 sizes. I use mine when I'm running/walking/biking. Very comfortable. Nicest one I've seen around. Unfortunately the larger model which fits the SGS3 only comes in black at this point, unlike their smaller units which come in multiple colors. hope this helps.
iGadgitz Armband
iGadgitz make a couple of armbands for the galaxy range. I have recently bought the black neoprene one off amazon. Not trying to sound like a **** but i have thick arms and it fits quite well. I went for a six mile run this morning and i hardly noticed it was there. The screen hasn't lost any responsiveness,(i'm not using a screen protector) but the power button and volume controls can be a little fiddly. Time will tell how well it responds to being washed, or if it ends up stinking like my last armband.

iGadgitz make a couple of armbands for the galaxy range.

Thanks. Stinking? Didn't even think about that, lol. Never owned one so I guess that didn't come to mind.
I saw a couple on ebay, I'm debating on which one now.

I've bought this in focalprice and used one time 3 days ago when I go out to run with my dog, it's ok for the price.

But for the gym I will choose the "belt holder" (I dont know the word at this moment ), the one where you can put the Keys and some coins.
"Riñonera" is called in argentina

did you look at www.armpocket.com ? they have one that is large enough for the phone, a couple credit cards, cash, your car keys, and fits comfortably on the arm. The armband comes in 3 sizes. I use mine when I'm running/walking/biking. Very comfortable. Nicest one I've seen around. Unfortunately the larger model which fits the SGS3 only comes in black at this point, unlike their smaller units which come in multiple colors. hope this helps.

Thank you very much, this is just what I was after. Looks well sealed and I must ask does it survive in the wet?

Which one fits the SIII? The extreme, sport, or aero?
I ended getting this one and it works great and I don't have to remove the case.

The closest you can get to "exact fit" at the moment is this:

Or this:
