[Q] Extended battery charger - Galaxy S II Accessories

Does anyone have any experience with these battery chargers?
Or am I better off with just a spare battery.

I don't know much about these chargers.
How is your lock screen as such. What app were you using ???

Hi ive orderd one similar to this ( 1900 mah ) and ill get in in a couple weeks, as im in the netherlands as well .
So cant really tell you anything about the performance at this moment, but at the same time it's not such a big expense.
I preferred this over the spare battery as I dont have to take my phone apart, plus it does not have to reboot.
I bought it just to use in emergencys, right now my battery is taking me through the day as i removed al bloatware and email/tweetdeck gets synchronised once an hour.

Received it today already!
As i said its the 1900 type ( it's chinese so i guess its like 1400 or so). Brouht my GS2 from 32 to 79 in 1,5 hour.
Charging the "charger" took about 3 hours to become completely full.
Hope this answers your question.

The lockscreen app is widgetlocker with a custom slider, app Unread sms count for the 3 icon links, Typoclock and battstatt, that's it.

Very happy with that

If stock is about 1600, then 1900 is about a 20% bump. I would expect a 20% weight increase too. But most of the eBay junk does not live up to the promise.
For the record the OEM battery is 1500mAh. I recently got a China made 1800mAh eBay battery. So far the best run was 28 hours compared to near 36 hours with the OEM battery.
**Update**
I just did a third charge to dead running and got 46 hours on it. More details below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10397925&postcount=64
If this battery came from the same supplier I would recommend it since I'm having good luck so far. Yet, something to keep in mind that there is good stuff that comes from China, the problem is that quality is not always 100% consistent. Kind of like our phones with the GPS problem.

looking into getting one...my max oem battery run time was also 36 hours...i just want something for when i know i am gonna use it heavily like wifi hotspotting or video uploading
I got the 1800, and it does NOT perform as well as the stock battery.
I saw another post in XDA somewhere where someone did a test, and said it is really about 1275.
i suspect if they fit same as original, they will not be higher rated.
Anyone know if captivate and i9000 batteries are the same?

How many charge to dead cycles had you done with that battery? I've notice the more I use the 1800 battery the longer it last.

3000mAh battery for our vibrants for around $22
Found this a few days ago, ordered one, and am completely happy with it. Battery life is excellent and the extended door fits well. The bump takes a bit to get used to.
Just to be clear I am not selling these and have no affiliation with the seller. Just putting it out there

what about the speakers?
So neither the camera nor the speakers are covered up by these extended batteries and cases?

STOP THAT! You are doing harm to your battery by "reconditioning", fully discharging this type of battery is one of the wort things you can do to them. Four times? No wonder it doesn't last long, you probably did permanent damage already.
Try to never let your battery drop below 30%, li-ion batteries suffer if you do. When you flash a new ROM just make sure the battery is at 100% when you flash it, and if you want wipe the battery stats to calibrate the phone, thats it.

And I'm guessing my body cover (its like a glove) on the vibrant wont work with these big cases now?

As long as you can avoid it. It's a shame that so many people keep spreading that bad information in guides and such. Deep cycling batteries only worked for old technology that would hold a memory. Li-Ion batteries are at their happiest at about 85% charge.

2x3500mAh extended batteries, 2 battery covers, wall charger... 20.99?

I just bought a 2 pack (2 batteries and 2 covers) for $18 with free shipping from Georgia. Hope to get it soon. Should I really expect a short life for this battery?
I bought 2 extra batteries and a wall charger for the battery itself(1). I never run out of juice cuase i always have 2 extra batteries in my car. I cannot speak for the extended batteries, but for the Hong Kong knockoffs 1500 mah, in my experience they are just as good as stock.

I have 2 sets of extra batts and an extended batt. I rotate every day and it seems to keep the batteries fresh. Plus I don't charge them in my phone so I don't see that loss of 7-8% juice when you unplug.

Thanks for the info. I've got my battery in and used for about 3 days. At first I was worried b/c it drained quick. But I let it drain all the way and then did a full charge and it's running like a champ. I'm going to cycle it one more time as well.
Currently I'm sitting with an uptime of 37 hours and 5 minutes with 35% battery life. This is with my normal use during the work day that consists of texts, some web browsing, phone calls and random games/facebook. Doing this usually requires me to charge my phone at work or it will die pretty soon after being home.
So far It's been a good $20 invested for both my battery and wife's.
I just ordered the Seideio 3500 mah battery from Newegg. I've read nothing but good reviews for that battery, I hope it works out good.
I have been using the "Chi Chi Tech" 2x "1900" mAh batteries & charger from Amazon. I have been using them for about 5 months, swapping them out a couple of times per week and they last just as long as the original 1500mAh battery that came with the EVO, maybe even a little bit longer.
Not a bad deal for $24.

Any god recommendations on extended batteries ? ?

Mugen and Seidio both have extended batteries..
they have a 45000 and 5000 mAh batteries..

But one is MUCH cheaper than the other... Man, $100 on a battery is not something I'm willing to spend.
I've been using a generic ($10) 5000 mAh one last weekend, during a trip to the beach. It was enough to be sure to last all day even when using the phone a lot (maps, taking pictures, looking up adresses, reading, whatsapp...)
The one by Seidio is VERY good, it last double than the original as it is expected...
Thou shalt not defile the appearance of their note with an extended battery.
i purchased 2 of those batteries they sell as oem batteries instead of buying an extended battery. I love the shape , lightness and slimness of my sexy gnote so i couldnt bare to ruin it. So easy to carry the batteries around and replacing them is a piece of cake. You don't have to wait for the phone in plug to be fully charged as well. So u can buy a cheap charging device which is also very light and portable and leave the spare battery on charge when u are on the go with ur gnote. One of the replacement batteries do perform as great as the oem one that comes with the note itself but the other one sucks. With using problematic one i have weird random lines on my screen which i suspect is because of wrong voltage. I bought these batteries from two different sellers.
Sorry. God doesn't recommend on the battery.
Just jk. External or extra battery?

cheap battery on ebay means junk. You're just throwing your money away.

I would be skeptical too
I bought an iphone 4 to fix & flip that had a gold battery marked 2680 mAh, it was just a gold sticker. I peeled it off and it was an OE 1420 standard battery. At least it appeared to be a new battery and not a used one. I have read some reviews that said the gold battery they had acted like a used battery. Shayne got it correct above, with currently used technology a battery will have to be increased in size to get an increased rating.
I bought an Acesoft 3850mAh battery for my g pro, it's the same size as the original one. Had a zerolemon but i couldn't handle the weight and bulk so i sold it to a friend. Hopefully it'll last a bit longer than my current battery.

I bought my phone used so my battery is not lasting as long as it should, so I needed a new battery anyway.
Even keeping my phone plugged in, my battery drained faster than it could be charged. This wasn't a issue when I had my 4" dual core device. Guess that 2 more extra cores really make the difference with the energy use. Right now I'm on the two battery system, one is always charging on the stand by. I currently have an original battery, and gotten a regular size zerolemon w/ charger. Eventually I think I'll have to go for the extended battery, though I'm hearing some negative reviews due to its irregular size.
