Hello
Hello greeting everyone

If you seriously can't find a way to structure a sentence so that it has more than 10 characters in it, don't post.
Simple.

The 10 char is indeed annoying at times, but it forces people to make threads more meaningful than "yes!" or "thanks", etc. These short posts really add no value to a thread, and we try to keep them to a minimum.

Exactly. Name one person (other than Chuck Norris) who can communicate a meaningful *anything* in less than 10 characters. We should make an opposition sig tag #keep10char. Anyone?

Well I never meant that it wasn't possible. Just unnecessary to make posts with less than 10 characters. In most cases if offers no contribution to the thread.

I'm all for the 10 char minimum, but most people just do a post like this to get past it - kind of makes it useless:

Yeah, I was agreeing with you, whilst pointing out how pointless any post less than 10 chars really is .
Its a rare occasion when someone can make a meaningful post with less than 10 chars, it has happened but those people can figure out how to add some more.
Anyone been annoyed by the 10 char limit should look at the quality of thier posts

Basic clock for the today screen

I am looking for a clock for the today screen similar to the HTC Home or HTC Plus v2 but without the message counter and program switcher. I use some SPB apps that do all that stuff I just want a big clock like the S2U2 to help fill out some of the space on my today screen.

"Jump to..." option TOO wide!

Hi Mods
This option will probably help new members at least once until they use a bookmark and then it becomes redundant, but you surely know better.
Anyway, it is too wide and I get scrollbars all over, which is too much for my 10 inches notebook screen.
Can you please find a solution
Thanks in advance

All ok here, nice size!
Hi
Happy for you But it's not solved on mine
I have a Samsung NC10 10" and it is just exactly the right width. I mean the dropdown arrow is right at the edge beside the scroll bar. I am using Chrome but on IE it is still a bit too wide. Sounds like different browsers are the difference.

It is intended, to ensure that thanks counts are meaningful. Since you can only thank 5 times a day, it ensures people are thanking the best and most helpful posts, rather than just everything

Exactly. Thanks are like currency. We could flood XDA with unlimited thanks, but then, they would become meaningless. Five per day ensures that you have to think for a moment before spending your Thanks

Thanks meter thresholds?

Does anyone know what they are?
I.E: xx number of received thanks fills x number of thanks meter blocks?
As best I recall and after a few minutes looking at users and threads to verify, I believe this is it.

Not that thanks are an indication of a user's status or stature on XDA. Some of the most important people here have a lot fewer thanks than you might guess.
I agree some of the old school have very few thanks(not around then), but have contributed more than some with 5000+.

Channon did a huge amount of dev work back in the WM days. There is a "who has the most thanks" thread in Off Topic and even mike names off alot of the old guys who would have more than him and the rest if the thanks meter had been around since then.

Welcome to the wonders of the English Language
actually he does kind of have a point
"Find all thanked posts by xxxx"
It does suggest that it is going to show you all the posts that have been thanked BY that person
Of course if you change the context a bit it means something different but I guess as he pointed out the literal meaning is a bit inaccurate
Don't you just love English, words have a different meaning depending on which way the wind blows
I don't know of any way to tell which posts you thanked, but in the XDA app on the phone you can tap More, Profile and scroll down to see total thanks which is the number of times you have thanked people, followed by the same number of thanks you see in your profile on the website.

Here's the official announcement for your reference.
http://www.xda-developers.com/announcements/introducing-the-thanks-button-on-xda/
Then, the Thanks meter, placed above the avatar, keeps a count of how many times a user has been Thanked. The meter gets more difficult to increase as it gets shaded in. For example, to go from 1 to 2 thanks “bars” is much more easy than going from 2 to 3 bars. To achieve 10/10 bars, you must be thanked 10,000 times. We might adjust this scale, but we have the feeling that some XDA members might get to 10 bars in just a few months.

Alas, Cataclysm has "died" before in the days of the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4. Atl4ntis disappeared for a year or more then and reappeared magically for the N5 and gained a large number of users. However, if he can't hack the stress, it was hardly fair to build up an even larger keen collection of users on FOUR different devices. I'm bitterly disappointed, but sadly not surprised. At least he gave his reasons on Pushbullet.
This is a sad day...... for me and the rest of Cataclysm users.

Thanks. I think I see his point about fairness, but man, does he have to be so nasty about it? Seems like he didn't really need to insult anyone, except maybe the XDA mods that he felt were unfair to him. But perhaps he feels it's a race thing (who knows, perhaps it is).
Anyway, it's too bad they couldn't solve the problems without going ballistic. Hope it turns out to do something positive.

Yes, and there is a fact. His method 'cata-mod' is and was very original. So I am confused too, and do not understand the moderators concerned. Especially because a thread with discussions about the 'why' is also closed.
This is not a simple 'not following the rules question'. Apparently we are dispirited to talk further.
I'm very sorry for Atl4ntis and Cataclysm.
He's been a very kind guy, always keen to answer help and fix bugs,
His ROM has been the best I've ever seen so far: a lot a customization, great features, great stability. A great balance.
I hope he will eventually be back, but he will be always remembered as one of the best guys and modder here!
