Which Games Work and Don't Work.

Sorry I havent updated this lately guys. Been very busy with work but i will update it soon
If you need to search through these games quickly to see if the game you want to buy is working just use Ctrl F
Also, if you find a game that is working on you GS2 but is in the not working list on this post, please tell us what version of game it says you are using. If you don't know how to find this out, just go to:
Settings - Applications - Manage Application - Select the game.
It should be listed under the title of the game eg. Version x.x.x
This will help anyone struggling to get a compatible version of the game.

nice thread, although i donta have my sgs2 as of yet would be nice to be able to play some of the non compatable games as a few are good

AIUI the current version of the SGS II doesn't use the tegra chipset so does that mean that the games featured in the Tegra Zone app typically won't work ?

most if not all tegra 2 optomised games dont work on sgs2....but they seem to pickup the sgs2 as a tegra device. maybe its a duel core thing lol

well theres more games that work than dont, do you ahve to buy these from android market or can you just install for free from sd?

The galaxy s2 is not available on any mobile services yet, only phones4u so there wont be many compatible games available yet until the updates come through. They shouldn't take long though. I would still recommend getting one though. It's the nicest phone I have ever used. I have always had HTC's or an Iphone and this is just in a different league. All my mates are sending back there iphone 4's now because they had a go on this one

It depends were you get them from. If there free you can download them from the internet, but then you might as well get them from the market. At least then they will be regularly upgraded. I would only download the APK's from the internet when there is only a specific version that will work. If you want to install them from My Files you will need to allow the installation from an unknown source. You can find paid game for free if you know were to look but I wouldn't recommend it. I only do that when I'm trying different versions of the game for research purposes. But i remove them straight away.

Shame that it looks like most of the newer Gameloft games have problems...=(
I love playing NOVA 2 on my iPad 2 with gyroscope, hope it will be fixed soon for the SGSII!

Samurai 2 works perfectly for me. Looks sharp and runs smoothly. You can also add Dungeon Defenders to the 'good' list.

But in order to play these games on your SGS2 you need CF3D and the Tegra plugin

Dungeon Defenders works for about 5 minutes but when I get to the 4th wave of Deeper Well it crashes on me. I have uninstalled and redownloaded everything and still the same problem. Anyone else having this happen?

It doesn't crash for me, but it does get crazy hot by that time. I can't play this for more than 5-10 minutes because I'm afraid to damage my phone.

Mine gets insanely hot too. I was thinking it may have something to do with it crashing, maybe a fail safe but I doubt it.

all phones gets hot when they are on 3G/4G or WiFi, or 3D games a lot

Could be a fail safe. Maybe I never gave it a chance to crash by quitting manually.

that used to happen on my MT4G.. it would get insanely hot but it never FC on me

Best games for galaxy s2

Everyone please suggest which are the best games for our galaxy s2. And I also suggest those over clocked to1.5Ghz to comment to let us know whether they can play better performance games than 1.2Ghz users.

Sims Freeplay has amazing graphics and it's free. Also try Modern Combat 3, Sonic 4 episode 1, Anomaly HD, Osmos Hd, Edge Ex, Wind-up Knit is free and an amazing platformer, Blood and Glory. Also you can play if you like with emulators , I have played Diablo 1 for the sake of old times

Landrule ( Risk board game clone ) is rather entertaining.
World of Goo works well.
Still deciding on Zookeeper, the difficulty spike when the bunnies are added is extreme.
RoboDefense kept me busy for ages.
Plants Vs. Zombies is good for quite a while as well.

Really hooket to one game specifically atm

Hey Everyone,
I wanted to ask for some good game recommendations you have for this phone. I don't play games too often on my phone, but sometimes I like to indulge.
If you have any favorites please share and describe. Although tame, I enjoy Andoku Sudoku 2, haha. I'd love to find a free (not currently rooted), turn based RPG style that is worthwhile as well.

Dead trigger. I just started messing with Amazing Alex from Rovio and its a good one if you want to use your brain.

Setup some good emulators, download a ton of roms and iso's... Bluetooth sync a ps3 sixaxis controller to use wirelessly then watch your friends drool as you play all the old classics like Zelda, chronotrigger, street fighter, mortal kombat, super Mario's, castlevanias...then laugh maniacally as you hook up the mhl hdmi adapter to your 32 inch tv and play them on the big screen lol..

The SIMS don't work for the GS3

Dungeon Defenders doesn't work with the GS3 either. It's not even on the Play Store at all anymore.

It's there. Although, yes, it does seem to not work with the S3. It goes on the splash screen then crashes.
And there seems to be no plans for them to update it anytime soon. Shame too. I was excited to finally play this on a better phone than my Epic 4G.

For whatever reason, on all of my devices, some mot even signed in, i cannot see the app

Thanks so much for the recommendations. I'll start to look into these. If you all can also label what's free versus paid going forward that'd be great as well.

It sucks that Jetpack Joyride is iOS only atm...
There's a clone called "Run Run Bear" in the Android App Store I think... I hear it isn't the same though

I seen NBA jam and dead space listed here and I'm not able to get either of them to work. I have paid for both so if someone could point in the direction of how to get them to work it would be appreciated.
Oh and I'm running the latest cm10 if that matters
