You should look around in the developer section of the Incredible S part of this forum, you'll find some Custom ROMs and such there.

Thanks, didn't really realize I was double posting, thought I could ask on any forum. I guess I know now. I'll look around the one u suggested, thanks

Indeed. I too dislike humans.
There is no Root
There is no root out for 2.2 yet. A sticky are the posts that are always on top of the forum list you will see a pin icon right before the title. The XDA devs are working on finding an exploit for 2.2 but as of right now no one has made any or mentioned making any progress on rooting 2.2. I along with many other new EVO users bought it with the damn 2.2 already up an running. But worry not it may take a few months but no one has ever built a perfect un exploitable system. Some one some day will figure it out just give them some time until then cheers.
Sorry dude, there is no root method for Froyo yet. I'm sure its in the works. Not saying this to be mean or sarcastic, just a heads up, try to familiarize yourself with the search feature here and do alot of reading to make sure your question hasn't been answered yet. It will save you from getting flamed by other members for posting something that's been asked multiple times already. A sticky is basically a thread deemed important by the mods. It will always be at the top of the thread list. There's one that explains all the forum rules. Hope this helps and enjoy XDA.

Hey I'm not sure how to work this app...i can reply in certain topics but not in others...like it doesn't give me the option even...is it cuz I'm a new member? I can't reply/post in the development threads it seems.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!!

Yea, its cuz you're new. At about 20 post it'll allow you to post in the develolment section via app or pc. You can still browse and download files though.
This epic reply brought to you by none other than my roxx'd out Evo.

helps to find someone to mentor you...to help you learn and teach you...you also need to start simple "customise a rom" or port one but LEARN as you do it...also google will help alot....but it's pointless following a guide IF you dont know wtf your doing you need to learn and remember things.....simple way to learn is to follow the make your own recovery guide i made....

thats the basics yes.....as one of my favourite devs has said and i quote "if you want to learn to dev, first learn how android works and write apps"
he said a bit more than that but you get idea.
But how do I know that I'm ready to enter this stuff.also in the tutorial he was saying that it is for gingerbread or it doesn't matter??

Looks like your questions were answered. In the future, please post in the correct section. If you are unsure of what category your thread belongs, you can always read, search, try to figure it out. If after that, you're still stuck, feel free to ask.

You might try posting in the correct section. The SIII has it's own. Good luck.
I see you're with Tmobile, so you will want to post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1714
This is the Tmobile GS3 question and answer forum. Just click the link and it should take you right to where you need to be even if you're using the XDA app, it will open the app to the right spot.
Welcome to XDA!

ROMs for Wildfire S 510c on Virgin Mobile?

Hello Everyone!
I'm not new to XDA, but I'm new to this subset of it. I am trying to help out a relative who wants his phone to be faster, smoother, and achieve better battery life if possible. Of course some room to actually install apps wouldn't hurt either.
Which ROMs are okay for the Virgin Mobile version of the Wildfire, and any recommendations on the best one? I'm not new to flashing, so just a nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!!

Wildfire S has its own forum. You can search for roms there.

Well I know that, but it seems there are a variety of different Wildfire S's, and some ROMs don't work for all varieties. Am I wrong in this assumption? I understand there is a "c" version that is different.
Edit: I am in the Wildfire S forum...
Edit 2: Nevermind, I'm dumb. Haha. Sorry guys!
