[Q] Apple Magic Mouse with the GTab 10.1 with 3.1 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Accessories

Has anyone gotten it working with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Google IO LE with 3.1? I've gotten it to connect but can't use anything with it (not even the Android OS). If you have gotten it to work please share with us how you did it. Thanks in advance!

+1

Same here. It paird and recognized as a mouse. But doesn't do anything.

I have read that it works with Xoom running 3.1 so in theory it should work with Galaxy. Did you guys try with different mouse? (non apple mouse)

i just received my Apple bluetooth keyboard and magic trackpad that i got off ebay for my mac, but i got curious and paired both of them with my IO tab, and they are working great, im actually typing this from the keyboard and the trackpad works except for the 2 finger scroll, but hey i cant complain.
and i have updated to 3.1, not rooted.

Tried my Apple Magic mouse on my friends Xoom with 3.1 and it works, but it definitely does not work on my GTab with 3.1.

I just tried my Apple Magic Mouse on my Samsung GalTab 10.1 with 3.1 and I can confirm that it does not work.
However, the Apple Magic Trackpad does work. (The gestures don't work, but the 2 basic features of moving the cursor and clicking do work.)

Everything is the same here, except mine is rooted. Same results here.
BTW, when you are using the Apple bluetooth keyboard, does the onscreen keyboard pop up too? I can close it and keep using the Apple bluetooth keyboard, but every time I move into a text field, the onscreen keyboard pops up again. It's a bit annoying.
It's not just 2 finger scroll that doesn't work -- none of the trackpad gestures work. The gestures are what make the Magic Trackpad "magical." But I didn't really expect them all to work completely, although I was hoping for the basic features.
It would be a dream if we could get something like BetterTouchTool for android:

To clarify my own response, this is exactly what I saw with the Magic Mouse. It pairs and connects. But it doesn't do anything.
When I doubled clicked a few times I did get the same message that I got when connecting the BT keyboard. So I guess Android thinks the Magic Mouse is a keyboard.
Also, as I already said, the Apple Magic Trackpad does work. But it lacks gesture support. So I guess that even if the Magic Mouse would work, it would not have the magical gestures.

+1 I'm trying to get this to work wit the magic mouse and id love better touch tool for honeycomb.

None of the gestures on mine work either, I just mentioned the two finger scroll cuz that's the only gesture I was really hoping worked. The keyboard displays on mine aswell when I get to a text field.
The uplink initiative thing is just me being a dork with my sig lol I had actually typed initiated but misspelled it and it corrected it as initiative and I just sounded kooler lmao I'm such a geek.

Just tried it after putting the 1.4 GHz overclock kernel. Same result (Not working)

the suport is def. in my custom kernel for this device.
i rolled in a bunch of patches specifically for it.
what exactly is not working?

the support is for magic 'trackpad'.

Yeah this is the magic mouse. It has gestures on it, but is also a mouse. The problem is that the GT 10.1 seems to detect it as a keyboard once it connects. When the mouse is connected it doesn't do anything for the tablet.

Anyone try the Magic Trackpad with the Retail 10.1 (US WiFi for me) with Pershoots kernel?
I may break this post out since the title is off topic from [OP]

magic mouse does not work with me either

So can you help us out with this? I can volunteer testing I always your kernels anyway

my Apple Magic Mouse oairs and connects to my GSlate running 3.1, but it doesnt do anything.

Pershoot, even magic trackpad doesn't work. I've tried both the trackpad and magic mouse, both pairs and connects with the tab, but there's no cursor or anything appears at all

No multitouch keyboard! :@

I've noticed that if i start typing very fast on my desire it stuffs up - Skipping some finger presses. I then did a test - i held down one key with one finger and tried to touch another key with another finger and noticed nothing happends.
Can others please check to see if they are also having this problem.
Thanks,
Brandon

Its not a 'problem' there just isnt a multitouch keyboard. Im not sure why this is an issue since im pretty sure that apart from the essentials like shift, Ctrl etc PC keyboards arent either!
Yep, its like that on all desires. The keyboard probably uses the same code as the older non multitouch HTC's

I think the 'issue' is that on a physical keyboard you may begin to press the second key before you fully let go of the first. On a hardware keyboard the second key press takes precedence whereas the HTC keyboard doesn't always register the second key press and you have to press it again.

you dont use a touch keyboard the same way you use a normal keyboard. and yes, they do have 'multitouch', though i wouldnt refer to it as such.
The problems that the keyboards slow and very unresponsive + the space bar often doesnt work and a few letters per sentence are skipped because theres no multitouch. And most of the reviews claimed "the multitouch keyboard found on the desire is great"
Oh well, i found a keyboard on the marketplace thats multitouch
Thanks for the quick reply guys. Good to know theres nothing wrong with my phone

Logitech BT KB and Touch Pad

I just wanted to confirm that the Logitech diNovo Edge Bluetooth Keyboard and Touch pad work with the Xoom. Before the 3.1 update, the KB worked fine but not the touch pad. After the update, the touch pad for mouse works too. The Volume slider also works. Very nice keyboard!

That's a nice keyboard! Little on the pricey side though!

It is. I didn't get it for my Xoom but to control my PC hooked to my HDTV from my couch but it works great with the Xoom as well. Pretty happy with it. I got it much cheaper used on eBay.
These are great, I posted a video in another thread with some hands on usage.
Cool, I have a different logitech bluetooth kb and the trackpad didn't work before the 3.1 update, but it does now!

Which one are you using? I have the Logitech keyboard w/trackpad that was made for the PS3. I never tried it before, but I figured since I updated to 3.1 I should go ahead and see how it works. The menu keys don't really do anything, but the trackpad and mouse buttons work great. The Esc key functions as the back key in android, and with this keyboard you have the additional mouse keys on the left side too between the ctrl and alt keys. One other thing I've noticed is that the scroll function is pretty sensitive and goes through the screens pretty well. I like it for home use, but I think I'll still want to get the keyboard case when that comes out.
Cool. I have that for my HTPC as well. Will have to give it a shot with the Xoom.

Will the A100 Bluetooth keyboard and mouse do?

ummmmm............ could you repeat that?
Where Are Mouse Cursors Stored?
The cursor is quite small and I would like to use a larger one - does anyone know where the cursors are stored on the A100?

You need your A100 rooted in order to check where it is. I am currently to lazy but to look it up.

Thank for the info
I get heavy stutter with the Logitech Android BT keyboard and the V470 when using at the same time with HDMI display. Really disappointing.

[Q] External keyboard problem with Skynote 9.3 ROM

I've installed the Skynote 9.3 ROM and most everything is great. LMT is even working (based on the forum this was unexpected)!
The bummer is that my bluetooth external keyboards are not working. The shift key does not function at all and many characters cannot be typed using caps lock. Most other keys are working. I noticed that another user had a similar issue when using an external keyboard with a dock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38247524&highlight=shift+key#post38247524 . In my case it happens with or without the dock. This was not an issue with the stock ROM.
Any suggestions about what to try? Or do I need to go back to stock?
BTW, I would have posted this in the other thread, but I'm a new user and therefore not allowed...
Running the same Rom. But haven't tried using a external keyboard. Not sure why you would be having those problems. When Sean leaves everything in tact when in comes to his Rom's. Meaning it's just like stock Rom.
What type of keyboard?
Another thing did you try re pairing the keyboard and see if that helps?

I have two bluetooth keyboards (one is a perixx folding keyboard and the other is a HP keyboard came with a TouchPad webOS tablet) and I've tried both, and tried re-pairing them. They partially work: I can type in lowercase just fine, but when I hold down the shift key, the other keys no longer function (no caps or symbols). They both worked fine with the stock ROM.

Ok cool. It does work but not the shift key. Probably cause it's a different key on the keyboard vs the one on the actual Bluetooth keyboard! That's why it's not working has this issue b4, using another keyboard to do something similar!

[Q] mouse for Fire TV Stick - IOS

I know there is an app for Anroid; still nothing for IOS?
How about bluetooth mouse? an actual mouse that runs on bluetooth it should cost around 10-11$?
If you didn't sideload settings.apk all you do is sideload it and pair with via bluetooth menu.
Hmm. That might work. I use the stick mostly for when I travel. Do you have a recommendation for a cheap non-bulky mouse?

If you are looking to buy a BT mouse, why not just get the KB & Mouse combo. I have this and works good with the stick.

It is a small size, light weight and ideal for travel.

I Love this little keyboard. Much smaller than expected and thus ideal for traveling. Also the fact that the on/off switch won't be activated in a bag is very practical. And the keyboard is backlit!!!

The air keyboard FAQ says that on non routed versions you can only run air keyboard light, which doesn't support mouse emulation. Did you get this to work with the fire TV stick?
