Screen protector for Tab 10.1 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Accessories

Has anyone ordered a screen protector for their device?
I purchased one for my Acer from Amazon. I ended up returning my Acer due to a hardware defect. The screen protector came in the mail the other day. It seems as though it covers just the screen, and not the entire front face of the device. If the screen protectors for the Tab is the same way, then I will use this one. If not, I will return for one that will protect the entire front face of the device.

Doesn't it have gorilla glass? In that case it's a waste of money.

If so, that would be great!

The 10.1" is not Gorilla Glass only the 7" model is. I'd get a screen protector.

Is there documentation online stating that it does not have gorilla glass?
So far, I'm seeing YouTube videos showing that it does.
Here are a few examples:

Im so sick of that answer. Gorilla glass scratches the same as normal glass. That said, my tablet doesn't fit in my pocket like my phone does so its not subjected to debris that will scratch it. I use them on phones but not on tablets.

I ordered a Full Body Invisible Shield yesterday. If you want and when I get the tab in, I'll take pictures of the final results.
I personally like the feel of the invisibleshields fro Zagg. I have one on my captivate, laptop and will on the tab. They are defiantly not for everybody and when really clean can make finger slides on surfaces kinda skip.

anyone try these ? Overstock item# 13692828. For $4.49 with no shipping, how wrong can this be ?

How is the Zagg protector from BestBuy?

Galaxy Nexus Screen Protector that feels near as possible to glass

Hi,
I am looking for a screen protector for the Galaxy Nexus that feels as near as possible to glass? I like the glassy feeling while using the device and I would hate to have something rubbery instead. I understand the value of a screen protector and I am looking for something that feels the least like rubber i.e. more like glass and less like rubber.
Thank you,
O. O.

I ordered one, they still haven't shipped yet. Just answering the OP's question, I think glass is what would "feel as near as possible to glass"
I wonder how high over the bezel this will go?
I like this idea, but the LCD is already low enough in the glass, this is just creating more of a gap.
I am really interested in a review though.
just go on you tube and look up sgp glass youll know what the tempered glass screen protector is basically like
Thanks let me know when you get it

Thanks Alex1123 Yes, I am looking for a "tempered glass" screen protector for the Galaxy Nexus. Do you have any clue who sells them.
I went to the SGP website and they clearly have a Tempered Glass screen protector for the IPhone 4 e.g. http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/ap...tor-glas-t-premium-tempered-glass-series.html
On the other hand they do not seem to have this for the Galaxy Nexus e.g. http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/google.html this is their list. They have other screen protectors - but not the tempered glass version which I want.
Do you know of any other brands that sell tempered glass screen protector for the Galaxy Nexus Phone?
Thank you,
O. O.

Dear Big Cam
While we are waiting for EvilOlivE to receive his screen protector I wanted to make two points:
First, the link posted above http://www.xgearlive.com/products/android/samsung/fantom mentions that the screen protector has a thickness of 0.4 mm. I am not experienced with smart phones, so do you think this would still cause a problem.
Second, the article at http://www.droid-life.com/2012/06/1...ectors-for-the-galaxy-nexus-up-for-pre-order/ mentions that you should use coupon code NEXUSFTW to get $5 off. This is just in case someone else is ordering.

Autocorrected from my Nexus
Ive been using screen protector since i got my nexus, early this year. but after seeing my friend who has a HTC Sensation, with no screen protection for over a year, and his screen is really scratch less, made me rip off the protector and just enjoy my device ! now myself im advertising for everyone to remove their screen protectors , by showing all my friends around with a live example how good the screens are already by taking car key and sliding it over my screen multiple times and no scratches are left on the screen.

I wouldnt have done that if I were you. Our phone's screens are strong, but not as strong as gorilla glass. I dropped my nexus 4 days after I got it with no case and screen protector. They were still getting shipped from online. It dropped from average chair height and fell out of my lose pockets from my basketball shorts. No damage or anything on the phone except a 4 very little dings and a scratch near the front camera. I was lucky it wasnt on the camera or on the screen. It was on the black border. I'd say our screens are 3/4 or 2/3 as stong as the average phone with gorilla glass.
Well....just be careful wut ever u do Cuz.....a co worker from A friend of mine bought his nexus online had it for a week.....dropped it....a thin ....long crack resembling a backwards "c" formed on his screen......he paid 500-ish.....total for his phone....I paid him 200.....everything..phone..box ..cables....brand new everything...just the crack on the screen....be care full...might be scratch resistant....but not too sure Bout shocks....

Wow, $30 for screen protector! One would almost want a screen protector for this screen protector at this price . I also wonder (when it ships) how it would play with curved glass on Galaxy Nexus. The curve is not big but glass is not as flexible as regular film.
For what it matters, I went with real cheappo $4 for 5 film and I like it better, sensitivity wise then naked screen. It's smoother and finger can glide on it without getting stuck like on glass. Plus I can attest for anti-glare quality. I can finally run my Nexus in the car at 25% brightness even in the broad daylight and can still clearly see the screen.

Well, watching the video of the one for the iphone, it does bend a bit. So maybe that will help.
At least, I'd hope so.

The guy from the company who makes these posted on the forum (the thread was closed because of the advertising rule) showing the a glass protector for a smaller screen applied on the Nexus to prove that it works with the curved screen. It seems to work fine.
My only reservation with the protector right now is how well the edges would work and how easy it is to apply. Normally I would buy a pair of protectors in case I screw the first one up, but at the price I would have to think twice about it.

On their website, they say there will be cut out for LED. I assume that is for the notification. And I watched a YouTube video where a guy demonstrates applying it and also taking it off with his nails. It seems very easy enough with no residues left on the screen.

HTC One Screen Protector

Guys I got this phone 2 days ago and bought a Vikuiti Clear Screen protector. The protector looks fine but is useless. The buttons on the bottom of the screen dont work if they are covererd with the protector.
Has anyone found a protector that works with this screen?
Hello,
I have a different opinion about screen protectors, in my opinion you should get a case for your One instead of screen protector because gorilla glass is really working well.
But if you still want to get screen protector, you should be able to find HTC's official protector in one of their retail sellers.

You drop your phone, only the screen protector cracks (hopefully). At least has been the case on my iPhone5. It semi cracked, but hasn't warranted a replacement yet. I will be investing in one for my Nexus 7 FHD.
FWIW I just dropped my nexus 4 on the floor yesterday. The iloome screen protector shattered and the device was mint.
Last time I dropped my nexus 4 the screen itself shattered when I had a film style screen protector. $200 repair.
Also, I'm not clumsy, this is literally the first of 10+ android devices and over 15+ phones that I've ever dropped, so apparently the nexus 4 is easy to fumble from what I've read online.
My point is tempered glass has saved me ~$175 so far on another device, and I definitely think they are worth it.
Is this iblaison's first screen protector? I didn't see protectors for older devices to check reviews.
Love the way matte glides looks, but looks like I might have to try a different brands to start. I still have my plastic on lol

uhh....
You know replacing the glass on a phone is like a 20$ repair at most if you do it yourself.
Most non touch screens are like a few $$. Double sided tape = 1.50$. Small screw driver and a hair dryer and that's all you need.
Touch built into the screen is like 15$.
Ie: nexus 4 screen: http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Nexus-Dig...4&sr=8-22&keywords=nexus+4+screen+replacement
It's not rocket science. The problem with any screen protector (even the glass ones) and i'm just theorizing, is that if you drop the device and it falls on the side (bezel) it will break the glass and probably leave your screen protector untouched.
http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=370754000871
Except I said nexus 4 not what you linked too. The glass and broken digitizer was $120+ alone. I ended up paying $50 more to have it installed professionally, and with a warranty.
Vs the time I ordered a replacement screen for my girlfriends phone and it showed up DOA. We know it was DOA because we got another screen and it worked. Of course we were not able to return the other screen since we bought it online the company just dismissed us.
Not worth the hassle of dealing with unknown quality and being out the price of a bad screen to save $50. In the end it cost me a lot more than that.

I posted the wrong link: http://www.amazon.com/Front-Screen-...36&sr=8-2&keywords=nexus+4+screen+replacement
That's for the glass that shatters. I guess it's possible that the LCD screen broke too, but the glass on the outside is separate from the actual screen. If the screen still works but the glass is shattered, there's no reason to get a completely new LCD screen as well. You're correct in saying that those are expensive, like 100$+. There really isn't a professional install, anyone can do it.
I'm not trying to derail or argue. Screen protectors are great, for protecting against scratches and nicks. But against breaks and shatters? I'd say YMMV. I don't believe they're designed for that.

Yeah in my case the screen was unresponsive because the digitizer broke too not just the glass screen. I spent $50 or so extra for that warranty after getting a bum product. Anyone can do it, but if you get a bad screen online good luck proving that it wasn't user error while installing, and then you won't get your money back.
All I know is that the tempered glass screen protector shattered a few days ago and my phone was in mint condition. Last time the phone fell screen down it shattered everywhere. I'd rather pay the $25 for tempered glass (which felt awesome and responsive without any issues) than gamble on needing to replace another digitizer.
No other sellers up to now but amazon? Tried to order there but shipping to Russia costs more than glass itself

I got a tiny scratch that you barley on my G3 and bought a glass screen protector right away, its great, and I don't really notice it, well worth the money,
What people don't understand about gorilla glass is that its still glass no matter how strong it is, all those videos of knives on the screen don't make sense since metal doesn't usually scratch glass anyway, but put some sand near it, even one grain and you got hella scratches, I'd do it, but only the glass screen protector, plastic ones are ugly, leave bubbles and are hard to apply.
Trust me my S5 got scratched within a month all over + my s2 as soon as I took off the protector, Just from keeping it in my pocket
I put one on straight out of the box.
Currently got a plastic one on. No bubbles if you put it on properly.
Probably will get a glass one though when I know the phone has no faults and doesn't need to be sent back.

Haha that's dedication using the phone with the original screen cover on!
I took the original cover off and put a Spigen protector straight on. Didn't even have to wipe smudges or dust off, a lot easier like that [emoji3]
I've been using the stock protector from Verizon-- never pulled it off, it only blocks a little bit of the bottom buttons, and while it's a bit of a fingerprint magnet I figure it's perfectly applied/aligned (no dust specks or bubbles), etc. That said I don't expect it to look pristine for too much longer.
I ordered some of the Illumishield protectors from Amazon, I know someone who's used them and it looks nice. If the Verizon one's fingerprints start getting to me (or the "Audio Jack" and "Charging port" writing gets too obnoxious) I'll try one. Not sure I am ready to make the jump to tempered glass yet...
I've been using skinomi on all my phone's. Nice screen protector.
I put one on my device the second I got it, but I noticed a scratch on my screen when switching screen protectors, so I just run 100% naked now.

Screen protectors for the outside screen?

I think I've only seen one of them on Amazon so far (this one). It looks like it might be fine - but I'm not sure $36 is where I want to be. I'm hoping we'll see some more options pop up soon.
Anyone seen anything else yet?
I'm really thinking I want something on there considering that the Flex Mode will basically be resting on the screen side whenever you use it (or you'd get a wobble on the cameras).

If it has a factory installed protector on it, leave it on until it wears out. They provide better protection than you might first think.
Ha-ha I "tested" the one on my 10+ the 2and day I had it and faceplanted it on a rough piece of 1/16th inch aluminum angled upwards.
Marred the protector but no damage to the screen... it hit on the curved glass area, hard.
Sand will scratch these screens.
I would lean towards a wet apply urethane screen protector as they are durable, remain clear, fairly easy to apply, bubble free, self healing and are inexpensive.
Been having a good run with Gorilla IQ Sheild on my 10+. Bought 4 three months ago and still on the first one. Shows some wear on the keypad area but no scratches and I'm not babying it. Similar in feel to the factory installed protector.

Do you know if this is necessary on the fold 2? The only reason I buy whitestone tempered glass for my samsung phones is because the screen is curved and whitestone makes the best glass for curved screens. If the z Fold 2 doesn't have a curved front screen, then I think most tempered glass screen protectors should work.
So I guess my main question is, does the z fold 2 have a curve to the front screen?

The screen protector is for the outer screen, you dont need a protector for inside screen. Whitestone is a good company, sadly the code did not work for me. Did anyone get lucky yet?

Sorry just saw your question. Yes the z Fold 2 has one side of the front screen slightly curved. The side that opens to be specific.
Whitestone code no longer works. As soon as people started using it they yanked it.

Because of the edges of the glass. I can feel the edges when playing games
Just received the Whitestone screen protector and installed it. It lined up perfectly with the hole punch camera, but doesn't quite cover the entire front glass. Had no adhesive dribble out on to my phone. But, did have to move the holder around to get the adhesive to fully disperse. I'm now just hoping that the first case I put on (when one of the five I ordered arrives), doesn't break the screen protector.

Does anyone know if any of the screen protectors on this link are actually glass, and if they are any good ? Thanks.
