Gruessle -> Kaiser Froyo Rom - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Android Development

06/16/2011
The screenshots are not important. This is not a theme!
You can install a theme from here, for example if you like.
The theme it comes with is the:
Go Louncher Classical Theme (The new version of it)
The software installed is also not important, because you can remove it.
Google Market is installed, and you can install what ever you like, just like on your computer.
https://market.android.com
This is the actual Android Froyo operating system for the HTC Kaiser
So, stop asking me for screenshots and software installed, it's not relevant.
And the how to install guide is been posted here
Bug reports are welcome, other then that, I don't wont to hear from you.
Don't post a thank you either, there is a bottom for that, and you can also vote on the poll up there, but install and test it first!
Again Bug reports only, please!
I been working on this for 3 days straight, and figure I'll share what I got.
Everything seems to be working, except the camera is blurry, but that seams to be the norm.
Included is the rom, radio and kernel

That sounds like a trick question.
Yes, at first I compiled everything my self but then to resolve bugs, I looked at other systems and basically stole stuff from them to fix my bugs. In other words, I can't take all the credit, it was a community effort.

I removed most everything from the system and installed it in user space. So the system is very lean. You can uninstall what you don't like.

how is the rom?just waiting to see

gruessle ...!! thanks for your efforts in getting this done... I been looking from long time to install Android on my HTC TyTN II. However i was not able to get the proper build...
can you share the screenshots of the build which you provided as well some steps at high level on installing this..
Thanks in advance.

Please, I don't really understand how to go upgrade this. I find it hard to do. Is everything needed packaged in this download, or please can u list things needed to change to android. I'll appreciate your response.

Anyone else having trouble getting the kernel to install?
I get to 33% and the phone reboots...
Radio installed fine even though I was already using 1.70.19.09, just to be sure I installed everything in the package.

Installed HardSPL 3.34 and a WinMo 6.1 rom (custom) to see whats wrong. Installed L1q1d's kernel and goes right in like it should.
Checked .NBH with NBHCreator and only found 1 thing wrong: kernel set to Eclair instead of Froyo. Changed to Froyo and saved, attempted reflash and still won't go in...
;(Losted);

I also tried to install this kernel but I can't. Flashing in hardspl after few second give folowing error:
00018003
Os Fail
Update Terminate
UPDATE Fail.
Changing parameters in atools not helping. Every another kernel is flashing without problems so it's not phone fault

Gruessle, thanks for your efforts! I want to try your rom but being a noob waiting for more comprehensive list of known errors before flashing it to my kaiser.

Ok, quick "bug report":
After working with the kernel pack multiple times I have come to the conclusion that there might be a bug in the actual kernel file itself, throwing a code back to HardSPL and RUU (how I install).
I first noticed a problem in that the kernel was originally set up for a Polaris and had no resolution set. The size of the file should be unimportant as Scoot's newer kernel is in the order of 3.2-3.3MB in size (with the RIL patch installed it gets even larger), this one is 3,099KB, and l1q1d's is almost always 3,092KB.
The second issue I noticed is with the Froyo package itself... It's split up into many files (open the package in 7zip and you'll see what I mean). Normally, the packer has the files all listed inside the .tgz file, this one has the files inside many other files.
I have thus not installed the system on either phone because (correct me if I'm wrong), the kernel contains the basic directories for where everything is installed, and if I were to try and install this package on say, l1q1d's kernel, the phone would most likely crash because the files would not be found, including /system.
If ANYONE wants to dig deeper into this problem, feel free to message me. Personally, I think we've about finished getting all we can from the Kaiser, and much respect goes out to those who have done all the work in the past, but there's always that glimmer of hope that someone will find a way to pack this into a working rom installable through RUU or HardSPL.
I have one last thing to say:
Gruessle, please do your homework BEFORE posting things like this. There are people out there who still depend on this phone to operate as it is their only phone. I Personally cannot afford to go spend $100-200 on a replacement phone if this one goes down (thats why I have 2 of them). If you post something that does not work on the platform that you say it will, please correct it or move it to the proper forum.

BTW, I call shenannegans on one of the 5-star votes... just sayin'.

Your kernel have fake ;/ . rom works great ;D
sorry for bad english;p

1) The kernel doesn't care where you place the files. Right now I use a debian system with Ferora and Gentoo in a chroot. Both work fine with the Debian kernel.
In other words, if you have a kernel that works for you then use that it should work with the rest of the installation.
2) I don't get what you mean with files are "split up into many files", I am just guessing but you must be extracting it wrong. Maybe it's a windows thing, I haven't used windows in 15 years so I wouldn't be able to help you with that.
3) I have included everything you need to duplicate what I got, which works for me, and it appears to work for others too. Now i don't use that phone much, and there might be bugs I am unaware of, but don't tell me it doesn't work at all, just because you can't get it to work.

barmalini, it appears that a few people have trouble installing the Kernel, but the ROM seams to work for everybody as far as I can tell.
According to my server records the files have been downloaded over 200 times and I have yet to hear a complain about the ROM.
So I would say try to install the Kernel, but if you can't still use the ROM with a Kernel that works for you.
If you have trouble installing from windows you can also try a live CD from debian or knoppix. I installed everything from a Debian system. (Knoppix is based on Debian)
If you don't know what a live CD is then go here for info:

PoXFreak,
you are not the only one having trouble, installing the ROM it appears.
I am wondering, are you also using Microsoft Windows to install the ROM?
If so can you try again with Linux, because it worked fine for me.
If you don't have Linux you can use a Live CD
Also if you can't get it to work, try the ROM with a Kernel that works for you.
Please report, I will check back.

Modifying the ROM

I've been reading the forum, and based on the information and the tools there I have been able to modify my extended ROM, which is great. Now of course I'd like to modify the main ROM as well, but despite the many hours I've spent searching the forum, I can't find the necessary information to do it. There's always something essential missing, something which probably is obvious to a programmer, but not to a normal user. As I've been able to modify the extended ROM, I guess I should be able to modify the main ROM too. Who can point me in the right direction?
from what i understand it's not even 100% possible with xda1 since people cant seem to make the extracted files back to a nbf file
and there are no tools that i know of that even extract the main rom from a xda2
As I understand it, when you upgrade the operating system, you're actually modifying the ROM. Some people here like to call it to "flash", I think, and there are a lot of messages about it in here. I just haven't found the information necessary to do it. I want to modify the ROM on my XDAII.
no the operating system is the rom which is in a eeprom in the device
when you flash the rom you replace the operating system with the new one
when you say modifying it mean more in the way of exchanging different files inside the rom
but if you just mean flashing the rom with a newer then here is a guide
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/HimalayaRomFlashing
What does EEP stand for? How many ROMs are there?
I've seen a ROM created here for the XDAI, containing more programs than what the devices normally come with. I would like to have a ROM on my XDAII containing the programs I use, so that I don't need to reinstall them every time the device is hard reset. Isn't this possible?
What does EEP stand for?
Click to collapse
huh what does EEP have to do with this ?
suppose it could stand for
Executive Excellence Publishing
or
European Environmental Press
how many roms there are i think there are 1.5 1.6 1.66 and 1.72
about extra programs then they are not! in the rom they are in the extended rom any CAB file you copy to the extented will install after automatic after a hardreset
you should take a look at the romkitchens ( specifically for xda1, but can be made for xda2 as well ).
and mkrom, and the other romtools
EEPROM stands for "electrically erasable programmable read only memory".
this is sort of the predecessor of flash memory.
"electrically erasable programmable read only memory" sounds like a contradiction, but thanks for that, it makes more sense than EEPROM.
What about all of us users who don't have a Unix machine? I suppose we're stuck with the original ROM then, and have to install our programs over and over again for every hard reset. Of course you can put a few of them in the extended ROM, but it becomes full too quickly and you're left with installing the rest of them manually.
well you can upgrade to a newer rom as they come out
like i have 1.66 but if i wanted 1.72 i could upgrade
about contradiction heh yeah suppose so but then if it was 100% always READ ONLY then it would be random was what in it as how the transistors randomly set when it was produced
A newer ROM wouldn't contain the programs I want.
no :/ but it could contain bug fixes for ms and radiostack and such
i suspect that extented rom was made so it would be easier for the phonecompanys' and other 3th party resellers to get programs preinstalled fast without having to mess around too much in the rom
this is at the cost of memory though
but then some programs dident like to be in the rom i believe here i mean if setting files were places in the rom aswell and the program could not write to the setting file
mkrom also works on cygwin under windows.
( now I also wrote this in the wiki page )
Isn't that just for XDA I?
it works for windows ce in general.
that doesn't mean that there is no work involved in getting it to work, but it is possible to make it work for the xda2. I use it to build custom roms for the devices we sell, that is why I wrote it in the first place.
What's cygwin?
How much space is there in the ROM to add extra programs? In the ROM that this forum developed for XDA I they added quite many programs from what I could see.
http://www.google.dk/search?hl=da&ie=UTF-8&q=cygwin&btnG=Google-søgning
Thanks for that, Rudegar.
To Itsme: I don't mind the work, but it looks like its written for programmers and that if you're not a fairly skilled programmer, you wouldn't be able to do it.

Working Android on BA! (tested myself)

Hi, yesterday i was trying to launch android on my BA and i DID IT!
It works like ****:
Touchscreen doesn't work (you can activate list scrolling by pushing it on the side)
Some buttons don't work
No sound
Navigation:
D-pad (left, right, up, down)
Enter (on the keyboard, since D-Pad center doesn't work)
!WARNING! there is no end call and back buttons, you can't exit applications
How to? Here is the tutorial:
Create a folder on your memory card
Get the latest HaRET from here http://handhelds.org/~koconnor/haret/
Get the latest zImage from here http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/autobuild/htcblueangel/
(i use zImage-2.6.21-hh20-r16-htcblueangel.bin)
Rename it to zImage
Put that default.txt
Code:
set kernel zImage
set initrd "initrd-android.gz"
set CMDLINE "rootdelay=3 root=/dev/ram0 ramdisk_size=23504 init=/linuxrc"
boot
Now you need the system - Android
Get that: http://it029000.massey.ac.nz/vogue/initrd-android
Don't forget to rename it to initrd-android.gz
I've got it from here http://it029000.massey.ac.nz/vogue/
it stays in jumping to kernel... i followd the steps above, did you copy pasted the command correctly??

Just launch Haret.exe
Speed... hm... Almost like WM6
a lot slower than wm6 the android image should be tweaked in order to have proper drivers for touchscreen keys and sound
wow...very cool, I'll be looking for updates (if there are any)
hi friends,
i tested android and seems a good toy
i did make a rar with all files needed, you need only to extract to SD and run haret
Code:
http://rapidshare.com/files/147524450/android.rar.html
i'm really interested to go further on android.
about my tests, i can conclude two things:
- D-pad works, but not very well
- Touch screen is not working, but i know it detect moves on it
(try to dpad a icon, then touch the touch-screen, you ll see)
I'm not a expert on pocket pc, but i have my skills.
I found an other thing, hardware specification.
Code:
http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/BlueAngelHardware
if the information is right, the touchscreen is from the same family that the vogue one.
To continue this adventure, i need some lights. I know we have a developer from the kernel/Opie/GPE in this forum. If you are him, i need some lights about your work.
The other thing, i'll try to do is asking help to vogue/kaiser android project, to give me some lights how they touchscreen work.
The last thing. All the help is appreciated, everybody is invited in this project and all the help is welcome. And i really need it lol
udapte (23/9/2008)
Well i talk do vogue android project man, and the answer from him is simple. His work was only to port kernel to vogue platform. I will have to find who made the one we are using.
The touchscreen is detected, but somehow it doesn't work.
i have failed .
my BA get a FlashDIsk and ramdisk in WM6 enrironment..
when i run haret ....
after jumping to kernal
an error occur
can't mount SDcard .it's halt..
why...
How about your work? I'm working on this task also. Need more information to make it working. Could you give me some patches for BA's kernel.
Also the SC Card Message, any adivice o workaround?
w0w...
it runs on my BA. Great!
However I cant do anything inside. But thanks to all of you that make this possible.
I'm waiting for the next release, hope it will run faster, and all get better.
Thanks.
Is anything happening with this?
Any news?
Is vogue version working? I have try to build a kernel for BA but false to boot
Will try and report later....
kernel
I have A LOT of, like everything I could find, files to load linux on the Blue Angel. Angstrom, Familiar, QT...somethingsomething... Anyway, it works well except the wireless which I think should work until the thing goes into standby. Would the zImage/initrid files or any of the others help? I'd like to help ya get this working, I think most of the works been done. I must say, however, I am just learning about how this stuff works. I can't code, but I have a BA, lots of experience repairing hardware like ppcs and I really would love the chance to finally give back to this wonderful community after they've given me so much.
It would be great to get this working. It would give my pda2k a whole new lease on life.
any updates on this?
Thanks
so, any news? android would be quite nice.
i concur. i'd liketo see a android on the blueangel, why isnt there one? linux runs fine on it, theres an older android that supposidly boots on it.
cmon somebody make the damn thing work.

[Ask Your Questions Here] Questions And Answers for Vogue Users

All,
Due to good success in the Blue Angel section, I have decided to open a Questions and Answers thread on this section of the forum as well. This will be good to keep the number of new threads with questions down to a minimum, which will make new threads essentially for people that are contributing to the Vogue in any way. This includes but is not limited to people that are providing
*New Roms and Kitchens
*Programs and Apps
*Fixes
*Skins
*Tips and Tricks
However, I have a life (and so do most of you), which is why I would like to request the help from other Seniors (or anyone who knows the answer really ) to monitor the thread as well. This will have the added side effect of creating an ever self updating knowledge base that will far extend the content of the Wiki. This will in turn save us from having to answer the same question 37000 times...
Without further ado, lets go for it!

GOOD IDEA!
Hi there Gents any input
Barogi awesome so far for v2; media player not staying in full screen mode though, and manila home weather under clock wont update when you push update now also getting error message for manila home on reboot
Great idea for a faq page!
I have been using a NFSfan rom on my bell vogue for a while, and it crapped out today for some reason. Rather than put another WM build on it, I wanted to change to Android.
I have looked through many pages in here, but I can't find a simple tutorial on switch from a custom WM build to a Android build. I prefer to use the NAND method so that I don't ever have to see WM again...
Can someone create or point me towards a step-by-step guide for installing Android? Keep in mind that I have absolutely no Android experience, and that my custom ROM is completely messed up, so would it make for sense to flash the a manf build and upgrade from there?
Thanks

As far as WMP, Barogi will have to look into it since it is his rom.
One last thing, please do not double post. Thanks for understanding...
I have a question:
I recently flashed the Bell rom with the latest radio (I couldn't get the radio only nbh to apply properly), and then subsequently flashed with the latest NagROM rom (which is awesome btw).
Now of course, at startup i have the nice HTC screen with the rom version etc, followed by an AWFUL blue BELL screen (and then the nice orange wm6.5 screen).
Is it possible to change the blue BELL screen? And if so how?

There was a cab to change that somewhere around here in this section of the forum. Alternatively, you can flash NFSFan's rom (which will get rid of it), or you can try mine as well and then reflash Nag's rom.

Hey everyone,
So I was running NSFANS 6.5 ROM on my device (Amazing ROM btw) But I needed to revert back to the stock rom. I used the VZW updater to go back to the stock rom and I changed the esn on line. When I dialed the *228 and choose option 1 I got a failed message. So I called customer support and he walked me through a manual programing. Well that got voice working but when I went to use the data it wouldn't work. I made sure all the network settings were right, and I still couldn't connect. Well then I hard reset the device and now I am back to square 1. No voice no data. Is this something from NSFANS rom that is messing the phone up? I don't want to call again because their tech support takes forever and I am afraid they are just going to tell me to take the phone into the store. Thanks in advance!

Why did you change the E$N? Where you using the device in a different carrier?
Back to your problem. Your EPST settings should survive a hard reset as those are parameters that are not stored in Windows (afaik). It really makes not difference which rom you are using (at least for Voice and SMS).
Lets focus on your main phone's capabilities first. If your EPST settings truly got lost, you will need to get them from Verizon again. The main ones are the MSD and MIN. Make sure that you write them down this time as you will need them again if they go bye bye.
As for your internet, you will probably need to set the correct username in the phone's programming as well (also info that you will need from Verizon, but it should be something like [email protected] or something like that)
Do that and let me know if this works. They will have to program this for you this time, but once you have the values that I mentioned before, you will be able to do it yourself.

I have android 2.1 currently on my vx6900, Id like to go back to close to stock Rom, but without all the verizon carrier "flavorings" and rescrictions.
Any ideas? Personaly I liked the simple clean useage of win 6.0 without all the extra graphics ( besides the HTC home plug in and the touch flo )
thanks in advance.

Try to get Barogi's latest "lite" rom. Also, you can't go wrong with vin's 28014 or NFSFan's rom. I would recommend mine, but I think they might be a little heavy for what you want. Good luck.
i checked out NSFSfan. It was nice, but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much for what I want. Ill check out the other you suggested before i just flash back to stock rom

Try to avoid stock if you can... it has a bad tendency of being too heavy on the extra apps.
I checked out just SS's of both. Both look awesome, but theres something about the simple look ( or im just used to it since my 8125 ) of the stock look. I would like to have the look but the added memory of a cooked rom.
With NSFSfans, could you remove the today screen plug ins to get back to a more stock look?
Im runnin 2.1 android eclair at the moment, and im barley pulling a full day battery with no data/bluetooth. With the old winmo, I was getting 2.5 days-3days. Thats another main concern for me.

[ROM] 2-18-10 Egzthunder1's 28230 (MetroPCS) - Clean Version

Busy day today
Anyways, I decided to discontinue 25005 since it had a graphical bug, which after spending several hours looking for answers, I couldn't fix...
So, here is the newest build (yes, even newer than 25005)
Build log is pretty much the same as 25005 but with a few exceptions
*Increased pagepool size to 18 MB!
*New Build 25005 (no clue about which COM branch it belongs to, so please don't ask )
*Added Bing
*MSN Widgets are Back
*Removed Opera since there is a newer version out there (with Flash support!). I haven't gotten the cab, so I will let you all install it and let me know
*Internet Sharing Added
*FaceBook Mobile is Back!
*Added QuickGPS (for faster lockons... or so I hear)
*Dialer Lag is gone!!!
*The only extra that I don't like (and I did not put in) was haptic feedback when touching the start menu. If anyone knows how to get rid of this... please.

Removed
*Showcase
*Mega dialer (simply left stock). Probably will try to use the GSM dialer from NFS's thread.
*Added Arcsoft MMS to UC Folder
*Added Netfront Concept 4 (latest one) to UC (replace with your choice of browser if you like something else). I find Opera very hard to use without an accelerometer and a scroll wheel, so I decided not to cook it in.
*Updated GoogleMaps to the latest publicly available
*I added a pretty cool looking theme for 6.5 but it was the cause for my funny looking icons and scrollbars, so use at your own risk.
Without Further ado, here is the LINK
[highlight]Installation Notes:[/highlight]
[highlight]Your device must be unlocked for this to work. If you don't know how to unlock it, there is a link on my signature with a guide on how to do this. Also, this is only for the HTC Vogue - which is a CDMA device (no SIM card). It will NOT work for any device that doesn't fall under this. Not sure if you have a Vogue? Go to the WIKI and find out. I am not responsible for damage to your device (not that anything should happen, but legal disclaimers are meant for the "what ifs" )[/highlight]
Drop the XDA_UC folder located in the rar file onto the root of your SD card. Flash and soft reset. The UC process will start upon second boot. You can add/remove any cabs that you want to (or not want) so that the system will install them automatically.
[highlight]CDMA Weather Fix:[/highlight]
Select the weather in your city in the Manila tab prior to installing this fix. Once it is selected, install and soft reset.

Egz - glad to see you have a new one out! I'm downloading right now and will flash sometime tomorrow. By the way, in post #2 the screenshots didn't show up, just thought I would let you know. I'll let you know how the new ROM is working once I get it flashed.

hehe, I am aware of the screenshots. I was trying to get My Mobiler to see my device, but it just refused to connect. I will try to get something like CapSure or some other tool and get the screenshots directly from my device...

It should as long as you install the Verizon provisioning cab over top NFSFan's roms are built for Bell by default but they run fine on other carriers. I'm not sure if there is something special about MetroPCS that would cause issues but I think you should be fine.

Right on the money. I will put a link to Codybear's post, which has most of the carrier specific cabs. Thanks for the reminder, cod!

Which instructions do you follow for Verizon? The ones he has listed or the ones he links to in NFSFan's ROM post?

The instructions for Verizon that cody gave seem pretty much on the money from what I have read. Try that and if it doesn't work, let me know and I'll get you something else . BTW, the MMS composer in the UC folder is preset for VZW, you may not need to do anything...
The new rom is great, but aggggg the vibration! I did a google to find a registry key to turn it down (not off) and came up dry. Otherwise solid work so far!!! Thanks.!

what vibration??
If you got my 25005, there is a fix for it (you have to edit the registry in a couple of places), which I posted on that thread (it is related to Showcase and it was driving me nuts too ). My advise would be to go with 28230. It seems a bit more stable...
Ouch my bad
Sorry, but I've flash my phone at least 5 times this week, and incorrectly identified the current rom. I need to flash to this one. My Bad

Well, it is Friday, in Miami with no moon at all
I've got it up and running this afternoon. Here's s couple of thoughts & questions:
#1) I couldn't get your included ROMUpdateUtility.exe to run on Vista. I just dropped the nbh file in a folder from another rom and it flashed fine. I may have had a corrupted download, but it all extracted fine.
#2) CM Internet Sharing and ICS Control, are these useful on a phone without wifi? I'm curious to know how they can be used.
#3) I'm an EzInput bigot. I still think you should add it
#4) You have a lot of config utils included. Not sure how easy it is to do when cooking, but you might want to throw those in the Tools folder in the start menu. I doubt 90% of users would touch those.
Good job, thanks for cooking these for us.
Is anyone else having marketplace problems in this build? Seems to be slower when running, and I've had several "server" errors..

[Q] Sense 2.5 Email Tab for Sense 2.1 TP2

Is there a cab or anything that'll give me the Sense 2.5 email tab for my Sense 2.1 TP2. I only found one cab (kimi_sae_ireba) but it didnt work correctly. There's a lot of white and out graphics issues. I saw something in that post about editing the 220edf70_manila file for a WVGA device, but I wouldn't know how to do all that. Id love to have it tho, so any help would be appreciated.
Assuming you're still on a stock ROM as most people who use TF3D are, why not move up to a 2.5 ROM that has it? Development on 2.1 is all but ceased. There are very few chefs who still cook it in to their ROMs.
If you are stuck on having 2.1 over 2.5, try out Jackos Sense 2.1 ROM. It's very popular and stable.
Outside of these suggestions, maybe you could per$uade a chef or someone to mod the mode9 file you need to make it work. I wouldn't expect much, though.
My SmartMOVE ROM (Sense 2.1 + WM6.5) does have included the e-mail tab from Sense 2.5 mod by kimi_sae_ireba and it does work fine
Do you know anything that could help me with that? I have the cab and everything. It just says I need to edit some files. Do you think you could extract any files from your rom to see if itd work for me? Thanks.

Why not just flash Jackos' ROM? It manages memory way better than the stock ROM. You'll have more RAM and a more stable experience overall in my opinion.
I did just look at that Rom, and I would kinda like to try it. I only have 2 problems. 1, I have lots of programs. And dont really wanna have to go through that whole process again. And 2, it has (SP1) (SP2) to download after the Rom, and Im not really sure what those are.

What do you mean SP1 and SP2? Have you flashed a ROM before? If not, then you have a bit of reading to do before flashing all willy-nilly. Head over to the flashing for noobies thread to get a bit more info on the topic.
The proper order for flashing new ROMs is to unlock the SPL on the device, perform a task29, flash the stock ROM, task29 again, then flash the custom ROM. The first time is always a little scary.
Ive flashed before. I thought I found a good rom but this one looks like it might be even better. But look at this post I found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=632617 After the rom download link it has 2 separate "SP" files to download too. But I dont know what those are.
Also it says it has Tom's autoinstall installed in the rom, will that install to the phone or the storage card? I dont want everything installed to the phone.

Next time, searching would likely answer your questions more quickly.
SP1 explanation
SP2 explanation
As far as Tom's autoinstall, yes it does install to the internal memory. There shouldn't be a need to reinstall everything to the SD. Some of them have settings that install to the internal memory or the registry, but the majority of them that you install to the SD stay there. For more questions about Jackos' ROMs, please ask on that thread. You'll get much better answers there. Jackos supports the ROMs very well. Just make sure you read and search properly before firing away with the questions, just like on any other thread.

Just install this: Sense 2.1 Email Tab Add-on V3 ported from Sense 2.5*
And later that: WVGA fix.
Here is the post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5202526&postcount=3 Just look in the tweaks/mods section.
PS You don't need to edit anything Just ensure that you're running a Sense 2.1 (not TF3D) ROM.
