Wii remote on Arc - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I recently bought a Wii remote joypad so I could play some snes and n64 games on my TV via SE Arc more comfortably. I downloaded Wiimote app, but when trying to connect it is asking for a PIN to connect to Wii remote.
I searched the web for this issue and I think this isn't a good sign, that remote wiil work with arc, is it?
Thanks.

got it working on my X10 a few weeks back so I think it should work on the ARC as well

Just seen on another site it says "but to pair the Wiimote using legacy pairing, you reverse the bytes of the device address and use that as the pin."
Not tried it so can't say if it works or not.

Don't know anymore but I think I used a very normal code like 1234 or something like that

Are you sure you had to enter the pin numbers on the X10?

yes I am sure I had to enter them but I dont know wich I entered

I figured it out.
You need an original Wii remote controller and it connects without any problems and works excellently.

tried it with ''wiimotecontroller'' and works great, its nice to play emulators trough HDMI on bravia LCD

360 or PS3 Controller?

So..the Wiimote Controller app kicks butt...lets you play your nintendo games on your non-sense Android phones...anyone know of a project or app to get the 360 or PS controllers to work?
Well, the reason that the Wiimote works is because it uses bluetooth. I'm not quite sure what PS3/360 uses though.

ps3 controller too
I'd imagine they would be havoc to develop. Dual joystick use and 2 trigger buttons for a majority of PS3 games. Mental.

The Xbox controller uses bluetooth but it's not a standard bluetooth connection. Microsoft has changed it and made it non-standard so that won't work.
Phil
it is as of recently possible...the PS3 controller can only have the MAC address it connects to changed by USB (which an android phone does not have)...MotioninJoy, a pc PS3 controller program, just added a custom MAC address feature to his program so potentially the PS3 controller can be connected to the android
They got ps3 controller to work on windows mobile 6.5, cant be that hard to get it working on android?
well one can only hope..cuz the wiimote kinda sucks to play SNES games..not enough buttons! hmmm pondering a SNES/Wii classic controller..they have wireless ones on Amazon....
This would rock! You would need some kind of clip to attach your phone to the contoller though. I'm enjoying playing FF7 on my desire but the multitouch issue is getting annoying!
Would be awesome if the wiimote app would finnaly work on sense x-x i see really no point whats the problem with sense~

the problem is with the crappy bluetooth stack that htc have that doesnt work properly, so if you want it to work you need to get yourself on AOSP
Just a heads up, the 360 does not use bluetooth. Only the ps3 and wii do.

Anyone successfully use two PS3 controllers with a USB Hub?

Today I scored two PS3 controllers at a pawn shop for $25. I just tried hooking them up to my XOOM with a USB hub, and the system recognizes both of them. Cool. So, I pop open Mario Kart and test out two player mode.
In the SNESoid settings, there is an option for a second gamepad. I mapped the buttons to one PS3 controller to the first pad, and the other to the second, however, they both seem to want to control player one and two at the same time.
So, has anyone been able to set this up correctly?
No one's tried to play multiplayer with a hub?

sorry I can't help with your question, but I was wondering what cable you use to connect a single ps3 controller and what software you need (drivers, etc.) Thanks.
I haven't tried to use a hub and a multiplayer game but i will try tomorrow and get back to you. But my otg host cable of choice is this one. I didn't need any special software, just an emulator and some roms to play. Just make sure you map all the buttons on the emulator.
Yeah, it doesn't work: the USB drivers map controller presses to keyboard input (including the analog stick). Therefore though honeycomb recognizes both devices, the output from them looks exactly the same from an app perspective: just keyboard presses. Same thing goes for using a PS3 controller with an Xbox controller. Best thing to do is wait for wiimotecontroller to support PS3 controllers via Bluetooth or mix in wiimotecontrollers.
That's what I thought.
I even looked online to see if there was a way to hack a PS3 controller to make it output different keys. For example, instead of making the directional pad use the up, down, left and right keys, totally remap it to use something like H, J, K and L etc. Unfortunately, this is impossible.
We need a Playstation 3 bluetooth app like what Wii controllers have.

Gametel wireless controller for Xperia arc

http://gametelcontroller.com/
The Gametel wireless controller is set to launch in time for Christmas for the low price of £49.95.
Read more from:
http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Android/Gametel+wireless+game+controller/news.asp?c=35266
I've just been reading about this myself, see http://techcrunch.com/2011/11/17/ga...android-phone-into-an-xperia-play-but-better/
It's not clear at this point if this will basically behave like an Xperia Play controller or not. They mention it will work in Asphalt 5 HD, but no mention of other Play-enabled games like NOVA 2 or Aftermath XHD.
Definitely worth watching this though, if the reviews are positive and it works with all the Play-enabled games (maybe with some hacking?) it will be on my Xmas list.
A bit of a double post... but has anyone tried this?
I have tried connecting my PS3 Controller via the LiveDock but it can only work when connecting to USB Cable and not via bluetooth like the way it work with my Sony Tablet.
Guess it need the software interface which pair the controller to the device via bluetooth.
So which are the controllers able to work with our phone which has been tested?
hi mate
If you go into Bluetooth menu it gives u the Bluetooth address
U can then plug your ps3 control in to laptop and use six axis pair tool(which is free to download onto ur computer ,just google it) and you can manually change the address control address to that of the phone
Not sure if it will work without six axis app on your phone or not but is worth a try
Hope that helps

I don't have my phone yet (coming later today) I wonder if sixaxis works.. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller&hl=en
anyone try it yet?
wont work on sense roms well tbh don't really know about s4.0 but on previos sense based roms sixaxis does not obtain the required permissions for bluetooth. should work on a ice non sense rom running on a one x.
Phonejoy's should work, they worked with other recent HTCs that I'd tried. I get my One X next week and have Phonejoy's, WiiMotes, Datel Retro Wireless, Logitech F310 and PS3 controllers at home. Will let you know which work!

I would guess that if Wiimote works, then they finally got the Bluetooth HID drivers working....

I have a rooted and de-odexed rom running ICS. Have attempted to overwrite the bluetooth .apk as per: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560647&page=2
Sixaxis won't ID my bluetooth, or pair after changing the master.
After pressing the start button, the sixaxis compatibility fails to connect.
Are there any ways to get sixaxis to work without removing sense completely? Can anyone confirm it working on a rooted vivid/raider??
Not sure exactly what your doing but i found the instructions for pairing misleading.
After changing the master ID you need to unplug the usb cable in order to pair it, instructions doesnt tell you to unplug it until after it's paired. if you try and pair it with the usb pluged in it says failed and tells you to plug it in when in fact you actually have to unplug it.
I have a sense rom and it works fine with it.
I never had to do anything with overwriting the bluetooth apk.
Shouldn't need to adjust anything what so ever, if you have a ps3 pad you can use sixaxis and it works like a charm, you can also set buttons on the ps3 pad to emulate as hardware keys on your phone, as well as emulated touchscreen controls,
You could add the left analog stick and a certian area of the screen, and it'll only go within the radius of that area.
I can confirm that Sixxaxis works like a charm on the HTC One x, I use it for FPSE (psx emulator) Cs 1.6, Shadowgun, Minecraft, GTA III, and BFBC2 ! If you like i can setup a video on how i done everything
You will need to root it and have SU !
Six axis vivid/raider
I've got the stock at&t ics rom(rooted/su) and sixaxis compatibility doesn't seem to connect.
The compatibility checker says click start to show local bluetooth, however, when I start the utility no local address is displayed. Went into setting and checked the address manually.
I downloaded the pairing utility and ran it on my laptop to change the master id.
When I try to pair the controller it says connect via usb. I did try pairing it without it connected.
Without being able to pair it, the checker indicates an error: failed to configure bluetooth. Not a huge surprise. Am I missing some steps? I've tried this many different ways. Thanks for the earlier responses.

AT&T? Is your CPU S4 then? Maybe the Qualcomm uses a different Bluetooth stack because my Tegra3 works perfectly with sixaxis controller app.
If compatability checker doesn't succeed then it probably won't work for you.
Also it must be a genuine controller. Fakes don't seem to work.
After changing master on laptop to the MAC on the app and unplugging the lead you should power on the controller so it is flashing then just press START. That activates the driver and it should show text ending with "client connected:1"
The PAIR CONTROLLER button is for tablets which have USB host functions and can then pair directly without the laptop step.

If there is no address for your local bluetooth on your phone, have you tried checking what the ps3 bluetooth address is and trying to manually search for that address using sixaxis?
It'll usually tell you the address of the ps3 if you had it paired to it last, then just use that address for the manual pair on sixaxis basically

[Q] Game controllers (Logitech F710) - How to connect? USB Host cable?

After seeing Transformer Prime + Logitech F710 in action, how do we get the same from HTC One X? Tegra 3 was said to support all game controllers like PS3, XBOX360. Does it really work and how to do it so there would be no apps needed like sixaxis and no compatibility issues?
i bought a ps3 controller just for this, but as I sent my first HOX back because of backlight flickering and haven't received a new one yet I haven't been able to try it. I don't think it will work via bluetooth without something like the sixaxis app.
Cant get my ps3 controller connected with the Sixaxis app, the compatibility checker says I'm compatible, used the sixaxispairtool to change the master Bluetooth on my controller to match the phone but when trying to pair it just says no controller found.
There is a video on YouTube of it working on a HOX with stock rooted ROM but I'm using Coredroid.
EDIT
Scratch that, managed to get it working, instructions on the sixaxis devs website a a bit misleading. Makes Shodowgun so much easier
Is it possible to use the Logitech 710 with the HTC One X? If so, how does it work?
