Official Bluetooth Keyboard/Case - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Accessories

didn't see this get mentioned before, but if you watch from 1:56 mins in.. there's a case that has a built in bluetooth keyboard that reminds me of Lenovo's LePad

The only place I've seen this so far is on the Samsung Germany site. Looked like it would be about 150 dollars.
It looks pretty nice, and I'd like to get one when (if) they show up US side, but I would have trouble spending that kind of money on an accessory that probably won't be compatible with the next gen Galaxy Tab.

I heard that Bluetooth keyboard is made by Broadcom!!!

The bluetooth keyboard setup is nice, but did you notice the hdmi usb cable? Does that mean that hdmi and usb are on one connector instead of two separate adapters?

yea I saw that too! I had to freeze frame since I thought I read it wrong. they must think they are apple with making the "separate and together" versions of accessories just to make more money for "preference"

Was looking at getting this before if it does show up... however, I think it'll be more smart and practical to just get a separate bluetooth mini keyboard.

Just bought my G-TAB 10.1 yesterday and I was told by the Samsung sales "enabler" (the Samsung droid in the Best Buy store) that it will be out in July (<--USA). I bought the keyboard/dock with my G-TAB but I am sure that I will flip to the BT/case version when it's out.
BTW, the HP sales "enabler" was also there peddling their new tablet running their OS. He tried to convince me that it was a better choice than the G-TAB... well, to make a long story short, I showed him my rooted & CM7'd G2x. He pulled out his Android phone and asked me how I was able to create those great screens. Well... I used ADW EX, which he also had (but didn't know how to use). So, I showed him a few quick tricks and he really appreciated it. He then said that I should stick to Android devices and that he will too (<-- I was holding myself back not to laugh as the Samsung "enabler" overheard that)

Hee hee....that is an especially good story given what's happened with HP since abandoning their tablet! On a related note, I too spoke with a Samsung rep at BestBuy when the 10.1 was just released, and due to a mis-communication with my wife, I thought a tablet at t-mobile was a different variant of the 10.1, and after insisted to the Sammy rep that t-mobile had a 10.1 at a better price; with an SD slot; and a 3D front facing video camera! I later ate some crow and appologized when I realized the T-mobile was an LG tablet instead, but had to chuckle when a different BestBuy employee told me that apparently T-Mobile's Galaxy Tab 10.1 had an SD slot and a 3D camera!

A slew of accessories for the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has been updated at the Samsung website...

Seems like quite a bit to fork out if you get everything...
No news if these will work with the 10.1v though (which I have).
So the "media-dock" only sits in portrait mode (according to the photo)? Not very good for watching videos.

I have no idea what the photo is like that. It can only be used in landscape mode because that is where the dock port is. So I don't know why the picture shows it in portrait position.
Wow. A marketing genius must be working at Samsung!
new? i thought i saw these on the site a while ago. but yea, it is showing the same for the keyboard dock which is suffering the same terrible marketing picture issue as the media dock.

I was wondering about the dock photos too. Thinking of getting the tab, but a potrait stand is really something that would make me prefer the xoom. However if the dock fits in landscape and cradles it, it's an improvement over the xoom's two that are held mostly by the connector.

Sorry, I'm MisterEdF and not Jesus (although I wish I were).
As I stated in my previous message I realized that my hypothesis was kind of dumb after thinking about it but despite that you'd think they'd get their pictures right because a lot of people may not realize about the dock connector (or maybe think it had 2).

One thing that makes me jealous about Apple (iPad) is the vast amount of accessories for it you can buy ANYWHERE from the 5&10 cent store to Brookstone. I was in the Mall earlier and 1/2 of Brookstone's products were iPad accessories. Some junk and some great. Just about every store selling technology products (and even Walgreens, CVS etc) sells i* stuff/ You will never ever see such a thing for ANY other manufacturer's product. It's amazing how much stuff is out there for the iPad and anything else starting with an "i". Whether you love 'em or hate 'em you have to give credit where credit is due. They sure did build up quite a following.

Sorry - wasn't directed at you. More at Samsung for the moronic pictures showing an impossibility that would turn people off their products. (Though I do think folks should have realized on their own that there is no connection on their tab that would allow for portrait mode docking).
The base is the same as the 7" model with a larger overlay that goes over the connector part. I verified this at a Verizon store the other day. No word on if you can just buy the plastic overlay, though I'd be shocked if they weren't available from Hong Kong via eBay in the next two weeks.

Anyone know if Apple's 30 pin connector works with the SGT? They look similar, and keep appearing in search results for one another. If so, the 30-pin to hdmi dongle (I'm n00b & cannot post links but it's on Amazon for $44.99) for the ipad2 should work, no? And if so, scoffing the price and the number of cords/connections required to get this going.
No, Apple adapters are not compatible. Yes, they are both 30-pin adapters, but those 30 pins are mapped out differently, making them proprietary.

Just tested ... you need to hook up power to the unit (ie there's a piggyback 30pin that needs to be connected to POWER) before you can view it on the TV .. so it's daisy chain (Tab to adaptor, adaptor to USB power.. adaptor to HDMI

I didn't plug it in. I will try with the ac adapter when I get to work. I flashed the touchwiz rom so if it works I won't know if touchwiz helps.
ok. Works! Needs to be plugged in to the AC adapter but I don't know if you must have touchwiz. I am betting you must considering that without you get the dock constantly running when you press home. This does not do that.

It does not fit 1080 screens fully. Touchwiz keeps the home button displaying when on the television and fills what it can. Different than what the xoom does. But it does probably fit a full screen 720.

great job guys you really make work easier for everyone. Will hit thank you for all.
I flashed the bonsai rom to check and see if the experience was any different. It too shows the bar at the bottom. With the zoom I was annoyed the bar was not there. But when it is there it does not fit the screen fully. I hope that becomes a choice in the future updates. Also, seems flash staggers when using HDMI. Maybe just something that is holding off the real updates from Samsung.

Where can I get a MHL adapter? Link?

Does anyone have an idea where I can get the MHL hdmi adapter for my gt8013?

and any word on a multimedia dock?
Bump - I want one too but don't want to pay £30!!
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Likewise i've just seen the price of the adapter, what on earth!? There's no way i'm paying that I assumed it was much the same deal as MHL to microusb and fairly low cost.
Is there really not a non-Samsung version that is significantly cheaper? or maybe a DIY method!
As far as I can tell (from buying cables that were unsuitable) the only cable that will work to connect your Note to your tv is the HDTV adapter
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/EPL-3PHPBEGXAR
or similar for your country. PCWorld in the UK sell them for £12.99 (epl-3phpbeg) if you can find stock or a salesperson who actually knows what you are asking for. I found mine in the tv section with all the Smart tv accessories.
That PC World price must be for the wrong item but searching for that code has brought up a handful of retailers selling it for near £22. Still too much imo when it's clearly not too different from the countless <£5 microusb versions!
Maybe i'll come across a used one some day.

They aren't on the website. Best to call a store. Or visit. Found mine in the Samsung Smart tv accessories section, nowhere near the computer department.
I have that adapter and just bought the (more expensive) Allshare Cast Dongle.
With the adapter one should keep in mind that a (more or less) long HDMI cable is necessary to connect the adapter to the TV/beamer/monitor.
The Dongle works wireless and can be just put beside the display device.
I'm looking for something I could connect my tab to HDMI, maybe a USB, and could charge it

How well does the connector work? is this the same story like on galaxy s3, that the framerate is halfed down, or does it run at 30fps, cause I dont want to throw away another 25 euros for an adapter, that doesnt even work properly. -.-
ive looked at the media docks for the 10" Tabs on amazon and their TV out potential but I havent found anything conclusive in regards to their performance with the Notes.
the galaxy tab (og galaxy tab) dock is only $18 on amazon and works fine with the gn101. just gotta be modded to prop it up.

the place where i ordered the MHL adapter canceled my order, go figure.
So I bought the OG samsung tab dock, dremeled off the sides a bit and it fits perfect. I don't have the right hdmi cable to test that part out, but so far it works fine (charging, sync, and audio through the headphone jack on the dock.)
Was only 10 on craigslist.
win.
I picked up the hdmi cable and it works perfectly.
I get 56fps using fps2d to test.

AppRadio2 from Pioneer

Ok, so did some checking, apparently i need a specific cable to use my phone with the AppRadio2,
And an app called ARLiberator...checked the market and it is 35 frikkin dollars for the app.
Is this serious? 35 dollars? Holy cow, i could understand 10 bucks, but 35 dollars for an app?
Before I go any further with this, are there any Note 2 users out there with Pioneer's AppRadio2 and the Note 2 combined that would like to share feedback?
35 damn dollars.....better iron my shirts, cook breakfast, and wash my car every saturday lol
Seriously, any users out there that can shed some light on how it works would be great.
That's cheap. My boy bought the radio and had to buy cable from them and it was like 80 bucks
Well there is a proprietary 11 pin connector we need for our Note 2 to work with it.
Honestly I was just shocked at an app being 35 dollars. Makes me wish there was a free version so i could trial it out and see what I would be working with on my Note 2 and that AppRadio.
(I have the Pioneer AVH-8400BH, which only works with iOS. which is why i wanna get the Appradio if this app really unlocks the awesome potential...)

Tried their cable, the cable they want me to use, which is the one you listed, is a 5 pin cable, which doesn't work with the Note 2. In fact the cable works with VERY few phones.
I think i may have found a solution, if it works, i'll post it up so if anyone runs into the same situation they have a place to hopefully get things fingered out.

I thought you had to get a Samsung mhl that connects to the phone
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
The connector they sell is only a 5 pin, which is why their supported android list is very slim, SGS2 and such, the new Samsung phones use a newer 11 pin Micro USB so the MHL cable for the pioneer kit doesnt work, you have to get the adaptor that converts from 5 to 11 pin.
Mine should be here on tuesday. Outside of XDA im still researching and figuring out what works and what doesnt, and the MHL adaptor that pioneer sells absolutely does not work out of the box with our note 2 or the S3.
I have heard some people complain that the phone slows down because of the demand the connection puts on to mimic the phone on the headunit, but the Note has more power than it knows what to do with so that shouldn't be a problem.

One source for a not too expensive MHL adapter
FWIW, while I know there are cheap MHL connectors on Ebay, I just bought one at Frys for $25 that had a little adapter for the S3/Note 2. Worked just fine with my TV.

I found that with my Note 2 I had to use the little adapter, which implies that all the pins we need are in a regular 5 pin just not accessible on the Note 2.
Note that the MHL adapter only works if you provide power to it via the microusb port, and one thing that someone mentioned in one of the Youtube videos was that the power requirements of the Note 2 was kinda high. He initially used a garden variety power source, but got bad cutting out, and when I tried mine at home I had the same results when powering from the computers USB port. Switching to the Samsung power source that came with the phone fixed it.
I think the Pioneer car kit linked above would work if we had the little 11>5 pin adapter, and might actually provide enough power, since it looks like it has direct to 12v connections. I'll probably just go to the local electronics parts shop and buy a 12V>2a 5v voltage convertor, or just build one, but if I didnt have the MHL connector already I'd consider the Pioneer one and finding the 11>5 pin adapter.
The nice Samsung computer dock would probably also work, and hold your phone.

No, it won't Samsung has moved away from their proprietary connector to micro-USB in the new (2014) note.
The only positive keyboard experiences on Android I have heard of are from those using bluetooth iOS (iPad) ones. And yes, I owned one (for a galaxy tab) myself.

I just did too. I saw the case at Best Buy and loved this case.

This one is also nice:

In belkin's website;

I saw it for the tab 3 in BB and was impressed by the material.
Why is the tab getting all the good keyboards? Has it been available a lot longer than our tab?

Because it's almost half the price.
(bump).
Any other keyboard/docks that look promising?

An ASUS keyboard without having to buy an ASUS tablet. Awesome.

hopefully we'll see some good covers soon, id like to get the new note 10.1 to replace a netbook i mainly just browse and use RDC on it, for windows programs or heavy working i can rely on my laptop like i do now.
Would be nice if samsung would make one like this for the note:
samsung.com/us/computer/pcs-accessories/AA-BK1NWBW/US
Ive been close to purchasing that tablet but the hardware specs have held me back plus its windows... the s-pen and the keyboard case did make it tempting though.
I'm not making the purchase till a week or 2 prior to christmas so maybe i'll be lucky and by then they have a good keyboard case but if not i assume a bluetooth keyboard and a dock would work.... guess this is one area that asus has the advantage.
Belkin Yourtype Bluetooth Keyboard Stand
It is a universal keyboard dock made by a reputable company. Seems like a good solution for now and looks great too. I might get this.

Cheaper on Amazon, as low as $50 if you buy used.
I'm concerned about it sticking to the textured case of our tablet tho., and read the reviews. Most ppl are not happy with it.
