[Q]about battery life in cm7 rc1 - Defy General

my defy was flashed to rc1,but the battery using is very horribly...
about one hour in stand by mode, battery level from 100% to 94%,
after 6 hours,my defy was shut down...
i have already set the cpu to 25/35/50,300/600/1000
is this normal?
thank you!!!
i hope that all can understand wt i say (my poor english)

What did you do in the 6 hrs.???
If just standby and playing games for less than half and hour.
I think that's weird. It consumes too much battery life.
By the way, I'm using CM7 RC0 nightly 110615
I've tried RC1 first release without flashing the new rom and use the recovery wipe only. I've confronted the phone call problem but the battery life is much better than RC0.

UM...I have play a game call shadow guardian one hours i consumes my battery life to 55-60,but in the other 4-5hours,i just use the dictionary for few times
i dont think 4-5hours can consumes 55-60% battery
btw,is this rc1 v1 is better than v2?

with quite a heavy usage,3~4 hours call time,2 hours gaming,3 hours web browsing,cm7 rc1v1 lasted me 30hours,quite sufficient for me cause I charge my phone every night

Do battery calibration after charging it to 100% on a newly flashed ROM..
i got 3days 2hrs of battery when my phone started crying at 15% battery remaining..i was on CM7 RC1v1..i m sure RC1v2 is better than v1..many bugs r fixed...

is it the possible problem for the horrible battery drain?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1097703
btw,I didn't use auto brightness so I didn't realize the battery drain

I use CM7 nightly 110615 and get about one day (24h) using:
About an hour talking.
Bluetooth always enabled
3G enabled
About 30 minutes using apps (WhatsApp, Chrome...)
Whatsapp, IMAP mail sync

battery calibration?
wt is it?apps?
have any link for dl?
after i wipe my defy and disable the auto brightness, the consumes is "better" than before

[Q] Battery Drain

Hi all,
i'm new with DHD, i flashed Revolution rom and i have high battery drain.
I charged my phone untill current was 0 mA, deleted the battery info and reboot.
So i turned on only data connection and leaved about 8 hours sleeping.. from 10pm to 10am all sync are off.. the result is: -25%!!!
I'm trying to find the batterykillerapp but i can't do it!
If i type the code *#*#4636#*#* i can see only battery info, no battery history, if i try using Spare Parts the app crash
how can i find the app that sucks my battery life?

Go back to the thread and look for the radio recommended for the rom. I'm pretty sure these radios are the main reason for battery drain
OR
What do you mean by battery drain? if it goes down fast when you're using your phone. That's not battery drain at all.
You can also go to OC daemon and set governor to ondemand so that the CPU doesn't stay on higher clocks.
i mean that battery goes down fast when i'm not using the phone! -25% in a night
sleep governor is on conservative and wake governor ondemand

When you enter Recovery , your screen will be black ,that means you don't have a custom recovery installed . You need to have Root & RomManager whit Clockwork Recovery installed in order to wipe battery stats .

From battery info in the setting menu i can see: Display (40%); System (15%); Standby (13%); Dialer (13%); Idle (12%); Voice Call (5%); Whatsapp (2%).
Any suggestion?

These peaks that you speak of can be the radio unit trying to find good reception. Try turning the data, LTE 3G and edge, off and see if it drains slower! But I don't see anything wierd with your battery usage or battery

Well lithium batteries fell best if the are fully recharged once or twice a month and then charging just whenever you feel like it really! like from 30 to 76 percent. They do not need so much looking after.

i ,, too,, am flashing so many roms,, trying each and every one out there,,,
and so ,, i face a common problem,, dont know if its a board problem or what,,,,
THE WIFI
after i connected my phone to a wifi,, and then,, i switch it off,,,, i noticed that it will then start to reconnect by itself,,.. dont know when ,, or even how,, but its reconnecting itself,,, it continues to scan,,, ... result is that,, when i touch my phone... its really hot,,, and because of that,, im sure my phone isnt going to a deep sleep state.. (correct me if im wrong)
that is when i search the net and found a way to disable a wifi reconnection thru terminal emulator,,,,
and that is by entering this one
su (enter)
svc wifi disable (enter)
exit (enter)
exit (enter)
i usually do that after i use my wifi,,, to ensure that it wont reconnect again,,,
and im just wondering why in CM,, its always reconnecting,, while on gb roms,,, it doesnt....

[Q] Battery charging too fast

Hi guys.
I have a strange problem. My Gio charges from 3% to 100% in 3 minutes. It says fully charged...
Of course it's not real charging, if i unplug it, and start to play a game or just see my mails with wifi, it consumes that 100% on 5-10 minutes...
I've tried to charge the phone all night and the result is 2-3h of working time. If i use power consuming apps, like games, than it's just half an hour... I think that the phone stops somehow the charging process if it reaches to 100%.
I've tried to calibrate the battery, with program from market, and wiping batterystats from CWM too... It didn't help...
The strange thing is, that last week it worked well. Now something happened and it's ruinig my life...
I had THIS ROM when it started.
I've changed to THIS ROM, and it didn't solve the problem. All caches were wiped during flashing...
Any ideas?
Thanks for any help!

Hm you said you tried to calibrate the battery so it`s weird. I have sometimes the same problem but after a calibration it is fixed. I can only recommend to charge it overnight , make sure you`re not overclocking it , make sure you don`t use wifi , mobile data , gps , see if there`s an improvement keep it only with calls and messaging for 1 day see how that goes. Check also the battery maybe it has a spillage altough i don`t think that`s the case. Sorry that`s all i can say
Thanks for the advices.
I've just set the CPU governor to smartassv2. It was on Ondemand. Now I can discharge the phone with playing within 15 minutes. It's better than it was on ondemand...
I will try to use it like a regular phone, let's see how it works...

With any custom ROM my battery life is of 3 hours...
With stock is kinda 5 hours with 2G connection activated.
I'm waiting for a new battery, but if you want to keep your phone alive up to then:
- flash a stock ROM
- install as few apps as you can (I've G+, Stream (FB client), FB messanger, Viber, WhatsApp, App Cache Cleaner, AppZorter and xda app, nothing else T_T)
- do NOT use kernel different from stock
- hope you good luck because first times battery will be strange, after some full usage and discharge now I've the battery life I told before
Hope this could help

[Q] CyanogenMod 10.2 Alpha (Build 3) --- great stuff, but battery drains fast

Hi,
I follow the forums here for years but have not posted yet, hence not allowed to post on the dev forum in the appropriate thread, had to open a new one
A couple of days ago I installed "[ROM][JB][4.3.1][JLS36I] CyanogenMod 10.2 Alpha (Build 3)" on my wife's phone. Until then she was still using the stock GingerBread ROM. The phone got so slow to the point of not being usable at all.
After I flashed to CM 10.2 it feels like a new phone. Lightning fast, good looks, everything works - fantastic, very much appreciated and thank you very much @ Devs!!! :good::good::good:
One big problem though:
When running the stock ROM the battery usually lasted about 2 days. Now, with CM10.2 it is empty after half a day. Since I did a full wipe before she is using less Apps as compared to before and there is no single big consumer. Just the typical mail apps, facebook etc.
When I look at the wakelocks there is one app consuming most CPU which is CSipSimple. But that app was also running before the upgrade when the battery lasted 2 days.
The screen seems to consume more power though, is that possible? Anyone else with similar experiences?
Thank you very much!

ok thanks let me do some reading.
Also yesterday I deactivated the SIP app and that helped of course. Still strange that the app consumed to much less power on Gingerbread compared to CM10.2

You can try out battery calibration app before new kernel. Cause there is no "wipe battery stats" on cwm 6.0.4.4. I had same problem, and its a bit effected on cm 10.2. It's free. Maybe it will solve your problem.
Battery Calibration
That sounds very good, let me try that!
I have the same issue with increased battery drain. Yet I've not been able to identify the source. I disabled a lot of services (with Disable Service), also deactivated unnecessary system apps.
Cell standby is also shown as a huge drainer, although I usually have a good signal and no losses (checked with Better Battery Stats). There are no wake locks out of the ordinary.
Now I'll try battery calibration to see if that helps at least some amount.
Actually for me nothing really helped.
I eventually identified the 3 apps that drained the battery via Wakelock detector.
Those apps are Facebook, GMX Mail (based on K9 mailer) and CSipCimple.
Before the update to 4.3 my wifes phone was running the stock gingerbread and did not have an issue at all with those apps.
Yet on CM4.3 they are draining the battery.
Once I uninstalled the apps the batter life is back to normal. Which is sad, because she needs those apps. But no other solution so far from my side....

Again the myth with whiping battery stats / battery calibration. Make a full charge and unplug the charger. This will whipe your battery stats.
And for the ones who never get this. The stats are just some data about apps consumption collected while the battery gets discharged. The ROMs are whiping them by itself on each full charge and after shuting down the phone.
This data has no Infulence to how long a battery lasts. It´s just collected to show you visually the statistics.

What I did was to change the theme, and today i got 12 hours and only 20% of the battery gone and wi-fi/3g all the time. Well, I still have only one hour of screen up time, but that is how it was before... I don't know, i'm just saying! Maybe it helps. The theme i added is LunarUi 2.

Yup it happens in every ROM I flash (even in stock 4.2.2 XXUBMK3 too)..and nothing changes even after calibration through battery calibration app, drop still persist.
And I dont use kernel other than provided in ROM itself.
Phone is 1.7years old
And I flash new ROM every week or two
Calibaration of the battery is not the problem, problem may be in your battery too, as if it was in software base it would go after changing of few ROMs once try using apps like greenified that hibernates background processes and hence can save ur battery, and one more thing plz tell if ur mobile battery drains quickly from 100 to 15 too....
Hit thanks if it helped

Tried Greenify but didn't helped. And fall of 100 to 15 is normal. During that battery gives nearly 4 hours of screen on time. But after 15% phone doesn't even remain on for 5 minutes.

Well then your Battery is working good but due to being old it lost some of its capacity, and for that as much as i know a case might be either ur battery is sending wrong information abut it being 15% in capacity or some sector of battery in that i mean the ending electrolyte, it is not so active as battery is 1.7 years old so i can just sugesst in the case that u use battery savers after 15% as ur battery shows u 15 % but actually it isnt.... sorry couldn't help with this case...
