Was running Miui for a while and loved how you could be doing something such as on xda / Facebook etc. And when you receive a text it would drop down and you could response and then it would pop away to where you could continue to whatever your doing no problem. Well I'm on 2.2 now because its the best ha and was wondering if there is any mod I could flash to get something like that, because it would make for a prefect Rom : D

Download handcent sms from the market, then in the settings, enable 'pop-up notification', though it is set by default.

I don't believe there is a way built in. There are a few apps in the market that will do it tho. I used to use SMS popup and it worked.

I use Handcent. It now has Su permissions and you can back up on their server too.
If you party with tasker enough I'm sure you can find a way to make out happen.

What Rom are you on?
If your on a sense based Rom, go to your messages, press menu, settings, general, click conversation mode. Hope this helps.

Im looking for a app or mod that will turn on my screen when a text comes in. From there allowing me to view the message, name of sender and when I touch it, bringing me to that message to reply.
Much like the iPhone.

Check out the app called SMS Pop up from the Android Market.
Handcent SMS also does this quite well

So I tried to see what google voice does exactly and I seen its not necessary for me so I uninstalled it but noticed that its settings are still on. So I reinstalled it and went in the settings and signed out which was supposed to take it off completely but its still there. When I get a phone call and answer I always have to press "1" to answer. And I get txts and e mails of my voice mails which I don't like. How can I get rid of this completelyyy?

this is normal.. you have to login to GV in a web browser and change the settings.

guess i should have been a little more specific..
My girlfriend just recently got the GS3 and was shocked to see the stock messaging app couldn't do group messaging. Is there anyway that she could enable it? Or does she need to switch to something like goSMSpro? Thanks yall.
I wish it did too....goSms does have the option to do it under the send settings I believe.
