Hello and Welcome.Contents:Post 1 Info and Screenshots
Post 2 Universal Theme and links

*Viewing through the xda app?? Select menu>more>browser. If you download my work hit thanks or rate the thread. If your generous, both. Thank you.Intro:Basically i wanted a big, bright, colourful theme to get the most out of my SAMOLED screen.
Why use a theme containing just 2 colours, black/white, black/blue, black/red (you get the point), when the screen has 16Million colours?!.
Better battery life is negligable, but anyway, that's what chargers are for.
You don't buy a 50 inch L.E.D. television and then watch it in black and white!!, so why punish your screen display?? Let the beast off the leash.
Want to make your screen "burst" into life??
Menu> Settings> Display> Screen Mode> DynamicCompatabilty:This should work on all TW and AOSP ROM's
*Q: Why??
*A: It only changes the files that are in the zip with the files in your system. If the files inside the zip don't exist on your sytem then they will not be added.
ICS Rom's
*Iv'e tested and it work's on the following rom's:
-Codec 5.7
-HydrogenICS
-Omega v13READ THIS!!!The modified status_bar.xml included will allow you to use a "CUSTOM" status bar NOT a transparent status bar!!!What is in the theme??So far i have modified nearly 3000 images, and presonally hand crafted 1500 images.
I have tried to theme "everyday apps", and the following has been edited/modified:
*Theme support for Jkay Mod (JKay Mod NOT INCLUDED!!!.)
*AxT9IME.apk (android keyboard).
*Browser.apk.
*Calendar.apk (AOSP) it's the same as TW Calender.apk!!.
*ClockPackage.apk
*Contacts.apk.
*Email.apk
*Gallery3D.apk (AOSP).
*Gmail.apk
*framework-res.apk.
*GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk
*LatinIME.apk (AOSP android keyboard).

Here is how to gain a new battery using UOT kitchen:
Get your "framework-res.apk", there are many methods to do this, i'll let you pick one.
Go HERE and click the "file upload" tab, select "system files" and upload your framework-res.apk. To avoid problems please us a CLEAN framework-res.apk
Now click the "battery" tab, check "use this mod", click "Custom battery", any of these styles will modify your framework to give you 100 charging and 100 discharging images.
Scroll down to the bottom and select a charging animation style, I would reccomend hybrid.
Click the "summary" tab and "submit work to kitchen"
Wait for the kitchen to cook your files then flash your new framework from CWM
Once flashed you can then flash the Universal theme on top.

Dont like the ic_menu icons?
Prefer AOSP style?

Choose a colour and flash from CWM.

Looks great!!
Gonna try it tomorrow.

Ninjamorph lets you switch out images in apks on board without the need of a PC and lets you edit market apps.

The font I wanted to use wasn't available to download through the market. I've also had bad experiences with font switcher apps and this way is quick and works safely. And the beauty with metamorph you only have to apply the parts you want

Looks stunning mate. You could name it Mean Machine - Don't know why but it seems to fit

You don't have to use any app to change the fonts. It's under display settings
And all the needed fonts could be found on this thread

Nice one Dully. glad to see you here mate. Maybe we can work on something together one day.
Btw ive never used metamorph... does it just replace the images rather than the whole apk? If so that sounds like the way forward to save people hasstle with incompatible parts.
Have a good one!

Cheers m8, I'm definitely up for a joint effort
Metamorph just changes the images you want instead of the whole apk, helps keep the file size down and can be applied across multiple platforms also.

awesome theme...keep up the good work
btw, can your theme apply on VR1.4 and/or TK-ROM v0.3.7?

-Phone.apk.
-Settings.apk
-SystemUI.apk.
-twframework-res.apk
-Fonts.

Very nice theme!!!A battery %??
thank

Will this work for litening rom v1.5?

It should work on all ginger bread roms as its only images being changed so it shouldn't cause any conflicts, backup though just in case and please report back if it works.
I haven't changed the battery as I've noticed different roms are using different steps so some original images would show.
I'll have a look inside some roms and make a separate battery morph.
Hope this helps.

Thanks!! Works Perfectly for litening rom

This was just made for fun mostly, something different than the usual when I saw that there was a group/community effort to make a Zelda theme on XDA. Even if they don't use this particular clock, I thought I'd make it available as a stand-alone flashable update for anyone that wants it.
Download: http://injun.org/themes/Prash_ZeldaClock-update.zip (4x3 version)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Theme Based Clocks - These are from themes I'm working on or have worked on in the past:
Alien Aqua
This was going to be the clock featured in an upcoming theme called "AquaAlien", for whatever reasons, I didn't really get to finish it as fast as I'd like. I just noticed an 'ahome' theme by the same name in the market so I'll possibly end up abandoning this project and just work on other things for now (its a personal thing, I don't really like taking someone else's thunder I guess since I wouldn't want it happening to me). But the clock is mostly personally made not using any of the Aqua Alien icons so I figured I'd offer the clock as a seperate update.zip file for those that want to use a new non-hero based clocks.
Download: http://injun.org/themes/Prash_AquaAlien_Clock-update.zip (4x3 version)
and (2x2 version here) - thanks xidominianoix!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
SystemForce (Based on upcoming 3.0 version)
I'm porting SystemForce over to the newer rom's so I completely redid the clock now that I am able to create a bigger sized version of it. It still matches the theme in every way but also looks good stand alone, so I figured I'd put it up for individual download for those that like to mix and match theme elements.
Download: http://injun.org/themes/Prash_SystemForce_Clock-update.zip (4x3 version)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
To Install:
-Download .zip file to root of your sdcard
-Flash zip (CM Recovery 1.4 lets you 'flash any zip file')
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
To Activate:
-On home screen, press menu > add > widgets > Analog Clock.
OR
-Long press anywhere on home screen > widgets > Analog Clock.
Be sure to have enough space for it!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've only tested it on my own Cyanogen mod Rom, so flash at your own risk!! Report back which rom's it works on and I'll add info to this post. Thanks!
NOTE: These are mostly 4x3 clocks (big size) so if you have problems flashing, remove any old clocks from home screen, flash, then add clock widget again. Be sure to leave enough room on your home screen for it to fit.
Big thanks to Ted, r_dub and everyone else in the clocks thread for the help.
this should work on many different roms including rogers if im correct
would it be alright if i added this to my ClockWidgetSwitcher program?
EDIT: heres a 2x2 version

Please continue with this. That theme looks incredibly sleek. At least make the wallpaper, status_bar, and icons available for those of us who want it for personal use. Where'd you get this stuff from?

To explain my theme process..I find icon sets that I think look really cool, then I find matching wallpapers that would go good with that icon set, then I build my themes around that. As you can see in the screenshots I got as far as customizing the top bar (only right hand side) the clock and the status bar. The icons were put by bettercut but I'd have made them system icons as well. The last time I worked on that theme we were on Cyanogen 3.2 so as you can see its been a while since its been touched.
Now I dont use ahome so I don't know what the "AlienAqua" ahome theme in the market place looks like but since I build my themes based on the icons, its the heart of my project. I may continue with it since I'm getting positive responses here but I remember being stuck on what to do with the pull up tray images.
The best thing I loved about that theme was the boot screen..I had an animated spaceship scene which is hard to describe but looked really ****ing awesome. Too bad
If you look at my other themes, I tend to go all out and customize everything possible so it may take a while before you see any of my ideas posted. This was why alien aqua was not finished..
If theres enough demand I can zip up the wallpapers and icon sets for people to use. Not sure about the notification icons beause I can make use of them in other themes..Those that remember SystemForce version 2 may recognize some of the top bar icons from there. So i recycle..is a lot of work
that theme would look hot on a white G1 thats nice keep up the great work
I may continue working on the theme later ...maybe
Until then, I updated the entire post with a second clock, I may keep adding more on as I go along now. Enjoy!

2) Lol yeah I'm looking for that damn blue image..I lost it when I changed it, I'll probably go back to using that, as you may have noticed the recent changes are due to the fact I'm not happy with any new avatars.
edit: Well thank goodness for redundant backups of backups..was able to find the old avatar after all..back to normal now.
Oh man I'd love to see that zelda clock in a systemforce way!
PS: And add a triforce somewhere!
Really great looking clocks.. Looking forward to installing this.

[THEME]E.S (Elemental Spectrum) 1.1.4 (JPU/Y/X/JS3) [UPDATE 29-1-11]

PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE MY THEME WITH VA SPECTRUM and SPECTRUM
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello people.
This is my first time developing a theme. It took quite some time and I finally manage to make one that I really desired after a long time with some great software and the help of some people I met online and some of my techy friends.
I'm still new to developing themes. So do help me if there's some problem that I can never resolve by myself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The purpose of this theme is simple. I wanted a theme that looked colorful-as I didn't like monotoned looks, with colors that best associated with icons and its attributes, such as the signal strength of data, or auto rotation. Also, since I wasn't good at making my own png files, I wanted to gather some of the nicest looking (to me) png files from all over android, and piece them together.

A: Try wiping cache in recovery or factory data reset in recovery.
Q: I just bricked my phone because of your theme, pay me for my galaxy s.
A: I'm not responsible for bricking your phone, you decided to flash it without care=,=. Please read up development sections to solve your problem. Galaxy S can be easily unbricked thanks to download mode.

Sorry, but I think you're mistaken. I started this project weeks ago and didn't even look at any other theme besides r64s. So simply put it, I didn't see your theme name. I only wanted to associate it to rainbows, so I had to choose between spectrum and Roy B. giv. I thought the former sounds better so i picked it.
Again I apologize for having the same theme name. Besides, weren't your's called VA mix at first?

Apparently, the transparency isn't the windows 7 sort. It is just plain transparent, and too hard to distinguish the words on the transparency and the words in the background.
I'm loving all the colors, just wondering if maybe it's possible to make colors more bolder, as in not so pastely... But a little darker... Just an idea....

I'm working on improving the colours once I got all the icons with its proper colours including highlights. It will take quite some time and wont come too soon. When you mean bolder do you mean more vibrant or just darker?

[THEMES] Sisterchick Collection - Gingerbread and Froyo

UDPATE: 18Aug11 I've just finished up a port and addition to Pandroid's DropTheme in White for Froyo and Gingerbread MDPI Dream/Sapphire! Screenshots are attached below.
Download and instructions can be found at www.sisterbird.com/android-themes
Enjoy!.
I've finally gotten around to setting up a website to house my collection of MDPI themes. Each has been set up as a Metamorph base for Gingerbread and for Froyo. Thanks to kellinwood for the ZipThemer app on the Market, you can create a flashable zip on your phone for whatever Gingerbread or Froyo ROM you are running.
All downloads, instructions and more screenshots can be found at http://www.sisterbird.com/android-themes.
Enjoy!

I restarted the service and reindexed the files. All links seems to be working now. Sorry for the trouble.
Awesome themes! Some amazing work you've done!
I was wondering, how can i get the dialer in the Minimal Blue theme?
Ooops!
Thanks for your kind words! You caught my mistake in including that picture of the themed dialer. My metamorphs do not include that for the sake of consistency. I tried to include the same parts in all of them so that you could go from theme to theme without reflashing the ROM to undo the changes or ending up with some pretty wild color schemes.
BUT...Rhamej's original metamorph did include the dialer. You can get it here and use ZipThemer to add it to your flashable zip and make an undo flashable at the same time. His original theme did not include the icons I use in settings, has some extra pngs not needed in framework and does not have the SystemUI for Gingerbread. You can use ZipThemer to pick and choose the parts you want out of both. Of course you could use Metamorph to apply just the dialer, but you wouldn't have an undo.

Alright I'll try the ZipThemer method right now thanks
Also, Is it possible to combine two themes? As in, for example: Using the notification pull bar of one theme & using the system UI of another?
I believe so...you can pick and choose sub-parts from different themes and combine them in one flashable zip. Let me know how that works out for you.

Nah I'm not using GB, I'm using Froyo by Lazlo

Thanks...just curious to see how well Zip Themer works with other GB Roms. Works great with EZTerry Gingerbread.
I had good success with Metamorph with FBL 5.2 after clean install.

hi,
I want to use the theme Minimal Blue on ADS_Magpie, based of Ezgingerbread 2.3.4. I was just curious to know, how will it effect on performance, battery use etc ???
also, please tell me, if it will work with launcher pro? or it is meant for ADW launcher only?
Themes typically have no affect on battery life, performance, etc. The pngs have been optimized.
hey sisterchick, what thread was I talking to you in last night?!?! I cant find it here or on the cyanogenmod site.. I was asking about Honey B... should it include the clock, wallpaper and dock bar as in the picture in th OP on froyo for Laezlo??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1083639
It was in the Sapphire thread (see above).
Ahh...I understand now. Yes, all those things you mentioned are personal settings/preferences and not part of the theme. BUT, I can point in the right direction to set that look up for yourself.
The clock widget you see in the screen shot is Simi Clock Widget available from the market. (The analog clock that is part of the system is part of the theme.)
In ADW and Launcher Pro, you can customized your app icons in the dock. Those are minimal text icons I made and/or collected. I've attached a file with an assortment that you can use. Save to your SD card.
The wallpaper is courtesy of National Geographic Photo of the Day, resized for the phone. I've posted it below as well. Save to the DCIM folder on your SD card and apply.

Hey thanks guys makes me happy that finally some people on here have found some work I have done and appreciate it. It keeps me motivated :victory:
Sirusuk, the Chrome icon staying round is because your version of chrome is not installed as a system apk and or you have received an update to the chrome version that is installed in /system/app. All chrome updates actually get installed as a user app, so if yours was a /system/app it would still have the themed icon, only that you'd need to roll it back to an earlier version for it to display. What I mean is (and your welcome to try it?) is if your back up the current chrome version you have with say titanium or Androzip or something and then go into settings>applications>all>Googel Chrome
Go inside its profile you will see an uninstall option (this will only work if the app is a system app) you click uninstall and it *should* say do you want to uninstall updates? You click yes and it will roll back to the system chrome and display the square icon.
Besides that, I am working on a methodology that will theme market apps that are in /data/app by flashing a theme from recovery? I was of the impression that there was already a way of doing this but for some reason I cannot find any write up on it. I maybe wrong but there was something that was on the front page of XDA about this while back and I have searched and searched and found nothing? I will eventually get it working, but for now if you are happy to send me through a cop of your apk of chrome I will theme it and send it back so it displays correctly. I will also include this in the next update for everyone else to use. I will ensure that the script will backup the original apk on to the SDcard as it does already with all of your system apps that have been themed.
ragzdincs, yes I am currently working on that now along with options to install the theme via aroma installation to allow users to pick and choose what they like of my theme. One option will be to convert all of the pop up menus to dark theme (which I have tested already and work perfect) the other is to theme them all tinted at 25% to match a lot of the other themes and widgets.
As for XDA app, there seems to be a few XDA apps going around already? I am unsure which one is the correct one to use? I tent to stay off my phone whilst I am at work and out and about, and only visit the site really when I am on my PC cause I like to get a clear look at everything on a bigger screen.....but if you want to send me the apk, I can take a look at it for you? I may end up using it to keep tabs on my threads like this is people are happy with my work.
Thanks for the positive input guys I really appreciate it. Hope you both had a great new years

Hi Everyone - After a little nagging from a few of them, I've finally been persuaded to put together a thread
to share some of the mods I've made with the help of my NeatROM family.
Without them and _Sale_ 's NeatROM, I'd still be staring at a stock Samsung Galaxy SII, which is a scary thought.
I'm partial to 'tarting' up my phone a bit so most of this stuff is sort of 'fancy'.
I mean, we have a HOT color screen, so why not enjoy it!
This thread will be a WIP (work in progress) lots of screenshots to make and Zips to prepare.
Be patient, be kind and I'll even accept requests, within reason and time permitting, of course.
I work all day, have a family and this is just a hobby!
DOWNLOAD LINK - See Post #3.
Blue Glow Theme mods Menu POPUPS, Dialer, Contacts, Mms, Phone, Framework and Lidroid Toggle Background. Also adds all the S4 Faces.
Pics show my Bottom Toggles - will only change the background behind your Lidroid Toggles to Blue Glow
Notification Panel Backgrounds for 23 Bottom Toggles
(Mod based on churapa's guide) with Brightness slider.
These are based on the expectation that you have already flashed one of engloa's 23 Toggle Mods.
Picture has been sized and laid out so as not to be hidden by the toggles or slider. The png used REPLACES the
notification_panel.9.png with a std png file.
My '23 Bottom Toggle with Brightness Slider' mod is linked in Downloads. I've added a 'Recent Apps'
button to the Notification Bar Header. The mod comes with a plain black background.
You can then flash the Notification picture of your choice after this.
For our Top Toggle users.
S4 Contacts faces to replace the 'Mr Nobody' look we got on our S2's.
This mods SecPhone, SecContacts and SecMms.
Framework Mods to tart up the Menu Popups.
Dialer Mod to match Blue Glow Menu Popups also adds all the S4 Faces.
To all those who have helped and guided me, I hope I've remembered you all. Please let me know if I leave anyone out.
THANK YOU.

UPDATE:
Please see the post linked below for latest details.
Thread 're-open' post #117 and update.
I've used the "VillainROM' VRTheme structure/scripts to enable the flashing of these mods.
A HUGE thank you to them for creating this and allowing us to use it.
23 Fancy Toggles as shown in above screenshots.
This will work on MS1 as 23 toggles are built in to the ROM!
(Anything pre XWLSZ - Will only work if you have flashed engloa's mod first)
(Updated Vibration and Rotation Toggles)
All direct links to files removed due to Dev-Host issues.
You should be able to find what you are looking for from the file names and descriptions.
Changing PNGs inside your APKs - Guide
Simple Mods for Toggles and other Icons for NeatROM.
This is aimed at beginners who, like me, have a Chernobyl moment when faced with coding and modding for Android.
It’s simple, like me, and it’s how I started.
Tools:
7Zip - http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
Gimp - http://www.gimp.org/ or
Paint.Net http://www.getpaint.net/ or
Photoshop.
Some form of android decompiler/compiler – search xda or Google.
Toggles:
The toggle icons or XXXXXX.png files are in two places depending on whether you are modding the stock icons or engloa’s 23 toggle icons.
Stock will be in SystemUI.apk - res\drawable-hdpi
These toggle icons are called:
‘tw_quick_panel_icon_rotation_on.png’ & ‘tw_quick_panel_icon_rotation_off.png’ and so on all starting with ‘tw_quick_panel_icon_xxx_off’ or ‘tw_quick_panel_icon_xxx_on’
Engloa’s, Wanam's and Sale's 23 Toggle mods are in lidroid-res.apk - res\drawable-hdpi
These toggle icons are called:
‘stat_airplane_off.png’ & ‘stat_airplane_on.png’ and so on all starting with ‘stat_xxx_off’ and ‘stat_xxx_on’
We will be talking about modifying the 23 Toggle Mods engloa has made for us.
With his kind permission and giving him all due credit of course.
What I do is use 7Zip to open the mod zip…..
There will be other files in the zip that we are not interested in for this exercise, HOWEVER, leave them alone, don’t remove what you are not sure of. Open ‘system’ to see below.
Open ‘framework’ to see below
Open ‘lidroid-res.apk’ to see below. This opens the apk (like a zip file) within the open mod zip(I hope that makes sense – it is important for later so get it right now)
Open ‘res’ to see below the contents of the ‘res’ folder. Remember the ‘drawable-hdpi’ folder…
Open it up to see its contents like below. If 7Zip is behaving correctly, you will still not have ‘EXTRACTED’ anything from the zip files.
Now for ease of use and to be able to view things a lot better, go back one step so you are at the screen below, use the up arrow just below the big Add button.
Now open up a new folder, labelled of course, and drag ‘drawable-hdpi’ into it.
Open that up to see all the png files inside. You will see in this pic that the ones I’ve modded are VERY different to the others and easy to find. View them as ICONS of course, not the file names.
You can now create new toggle icons to your hearts content and replace the ones here with your own.
No I don’t know where all of the other png’s are used.
As future ‘Recognised Themers’ and ‘Recognized Contributors’ and ‘ROM cookers’, that’s your adventure.
You can create all your icons and store them in a separate folder or in here, overwriting the existing ones.
Where you store them will change the path we follow when we update the mod zip for testing.
Use the same sizes as what you found the originals to be, would be my recommendation.
Example: 60X60 for the ‘six on a screen’ toggles in the ‘23 Toggle Mods’.
NOW to see whether your creation works.
I don’t have an emulator or know of one so I test on my phone.
You are going to replace all the modified PNG files inside the ‘res\drawable-hdpi’ folder in lidroid-res.apk.
Use 7Zip and open the mod zip following the same path all the way down until you get to here:
Now we simply drag the ‘drawable-hdpi’ folder containing all the new icons and all the unmodified icons across and drop it into the zip. It will ask you if you’re sure and of course you will be so ‘YES’.
You will see that the ‘drawable-hdpi’ folder now has a date when you modified it.
Use the ‘back’ button again and again until you get this message. Answer ‘OK’ and the lidroid-res.apk will be updated inside the main mod zip file.
Use the back button again and again until here and then exit out of the mod zip.
Your MOD is now ready to be copied to your phone and flashed via CWM for testing and more testing!
If it doesn’t work, well I’m sure you made a NANDROID backup BEFORE you started messing around, so restore to a working phone and try again.
That’s it – if it works and you think others might like it SHARE IT! Fame and fortune awaits.(Well maybe!)
Yes, there are ways to update these files on the phone using apktool and other ‘strange’ methods, but they involve changing file permissions and such and then you don’t have a readymade MOD file that you can share with everyone on the NeatROM thread.
Obviously this is just the basics. Once you start exploring the Villain Rom Theming methods I've used for most of the mods above, things change slightly and you will only have the pngs you have changed in your zip files.
That is altogether another guide and I would point you to the Villain ROM thread for more info.
NB!!
This will not work with the 9 patch or xxx.9.png files. (unless you are simply swapping out pngs and not editing them)
They are a special case and require special handling. There are guides here on xda for them.
Let me be the first one to congratulate you!
