Zagg Invisible Shield....my experience :( - Galaxy S II Accessories

I received my full body protection from Zagg and to be honest I am not 100% satisfied. First off, on a side issue, I ordered the "full body maximum" protection from a seller on eBay and only received the "full body" despite paying the extra for it. That however is something I shall take up with the seller.
Upon beginning the installation and attempting to peel off the thin plastic, it became apparent that it was stuck to the paper it came on and resembled that of what sellotape looks like once stripped from paper it was applied to. See attached picture and you can see the state that the paper is in. I have fitted Bodyguardz products to both my previous HTC Desire HD and HD2 with no such problems.
I was not happy and almost stopped there ready to box it all back up and return. Instead, I tried my best and and despite it being very fiddly I managed to peel it away from the paper it was stuck to and decided to proceed with the installation. The front and back went on fine. Then came the top bit (or whatever bit its supposed to be). I am a little confused as to why Zagg would include 3 parts in their "full body" and then include one extra bit in their "Maximum". Either that or I did receive that "maximum" and its only supposed to have 3 parts but I would of presumed it would of been front and back in one type and then front, back, top, bottom and sides in the "maximum" protection pack?
The annoyance as you can see in the picture attached, is that this random extra bit is cut so poorly that it neither fits at the top or the bottom. At the bottom, it would directly be blocking the USB socket. At the top, it isn't cut in a way that would avoid blocking the headphone socket.
So.....whilst the front/back pieces dry up on my SGS2 overnight tonight (Ihaven't bothered with that extra bit), I shall be contacting both the eBay seller about receiving the wrong product and Zagg about my disappoint with the products cut. Any suggestions on what I should do? Am I best contacting my supplier alone, will I have to return the protection Ive got for a refund, or am I best going straight to Zagg in which case would they request I send the invisibleshield back?
Whether you want to buy one for yourself, I'll let you decide that!

in your second picture that part goes on the bottom of the phone and that cut out is for the speakers !!!
i have the same kit and the bottom part should not extend to the USB port.

Zagg sucks real bad! Used to have 2 of them on my Galaxy S and I spent almost 5 hours installing the second one. the end result was awesome. You couldn't tell it was there.
But then after 3 weeks, it started to peel off near my home button... And then I always had to be careful while I wanted to get the phone out of my pocket!
I ain't going anywhere near that $hit on my Galaxy S II.

Do'h!!!
Well I feel a tad stupid.....oh well, a slight oversight on my part it seems!!
I shall put this down to experience.....

omg
Are you sure the product is genuine?
I ordered a screen protector last week from the site of ZAGG
and is also a maximum package.
The package had not arrived yet
Do you recommend me not open the box and sell it? or maybe install only the front screen protcetor?

I'd think it'd be safe if it came from the original Zagg site. After overcoming my daft moment, I installed the final piece and relatively happy with it. The back has a section of bubbles which haven't gone yet, they should hopefully disappear. Annoyingly there is a tiny 'bit' underneath the protector on the front of the screen producing a black dot. Heres hoping that goes too!

I ordered a maximum coverage from Zagg.com and thats not what it looked like.... close, but a little off... And your opening remark states you got it from ebay...

Really? What did yours look like, as in what differences from what you can tell? The one I received was a dam good fake if it was, has Zagg printed on the bottom right of the front protector, came with instructions etc I believe it to be authentic.

I used to use the IS for my blackberries. But ever since I got my iphone and other smart phones I haven't touched IS. I don't know. I don't like them anymore. It takes too long (12-24 hours to dry) and I can't be that long without my phone, and then within a few days the corners begin to peel and then I have to pay shipping to get new parts then the 12-24 hours begin again. Get a nice case That's that! It won't make it as thin, but it will protect it more, and there's no peeling or waiting or anything

That is why you never buy Zagg, they are probably the worse out of all the skin protectors that are used for NASA and luxurious cars, I believe its called thermo something . The best ones are Skinomi's TechSkin and Ghost Armor.Although, I prefer Skinomi, due to their less orangepeel effect and they cost about half the price of Ghost Armor. NEVER BUY ZAGG they have the worst Orange peel effect and are overpriced!!!

Thanks for the advice. How do you find the coverage on the Skinomi, which areas are protected e.g. top, sides and bottom?

I have friends that tried Zagg products before and the results were devastating.
I don't recommend them at all and I don't recommend any product at all, that it's application involves solutions of any kind...
The reasons should be obvious to everyone...

Here are pics of my phone with the maximum protection on it. I like it because I can toss the phone around and still keep it in my PDAir belt case. It's the first time I used Zagg's (I've used others) and it went on more easily than most. To the poster who seemed concerned, the solution they include is lubricant, not caustic acid.

Just go to the website, google it, since rules say you can't post outside direct links. They offer the full body skin front, back, and sides $19.95. Also, just the screen $11.95. They carry the Carbon Fiber skin in 2 colors black and silver as well, it comes with the screen protector $24.95. Also a wood full skin also $24.95. They are probably one of the cheapest and best out there.
Sorry for the late reply btw. I just bought the silver Carbon Fiber Skin today. The Screen Protector is great.
They ship internationally too.

One question only my friend:
For how long are you using zagg ultimate protection???
* Of course I know that the solution is lubricant, I am not as stupid as you think...
Only zagg recommends lubricant for the application of the ''shield''...

About a month. The lubricant made it way easy to put on because you can slide the pieces in to place once they're on the phone. When it dries there are no finger prints and no bubbles as you can see in the pics. Their covering is a bit grabbier than others I've used but I buff it with some ArmorAll occasionally to keep it slippery. I'm not a Zagg's fan - it's the first time I've used their products. The big benefit to me is that the phone looks naked and I can slide it in and out of my belt case and use the Samsung accessories without the protector coming off.

Last time I used a Zagg "shield" was on my old N97 (...) It looked great for a while ( a few months actually) but then the glue started to come loose and the shield started peeling off slowly plus due to it coming loose the edges started to look really scruffy and dust kept piling under it.
So I guess what I am trying to say is, it'll work well for a while but you will need to replace it sooner than if you were using other products already mentioned on this thread (Skinomi), but then again this is my experience, you may be luckier.

That is why you have the lifetime warranty... Also, I have heard Best Skins Ever also may be an alternative. Also, I only recommend Skinomi if you take good care of your device as if you push down on the Skinomi screen protector the mark WILL NOT DISSAPEAR. So use only if you take care of your device i.e. Having a pouch for it, careful installation, and only finger not fingernail use.
A really good solution would be Ghost Armor, but they don't have the S2 available yet as they are located in America and not much demand I guess, sent them an email and they haven't replied for about a week.

I bought the full body armor as well and was a bit dissapointed too. The fit is good and I manage to install it within reasonable effort. But as expected, the bit for the battery cover won't stick properly due to the texture of the cover. I was expecting some kind of hard plastic protection, but instead, the cover feels soft and you can mark it easily with finger print. I didn't even bother installing the screen protection. Won't buy it again.

Yup that's correct, but even with the warranty I feel it's too much faffing about, but others may be OK with it.
And yes you do need to take care of your device, but then again these phones are so expensive you would be a fool not to .
Like I said tho, people have different experiences & taste, in my experience clear shields, clear cases, clear desktop towers (yup .. I had one of them 100% clear lol...) etc. always get manky in the end, this time I went with a Zenus leather case thingy, lets see how this works out.
But yes, indeed you are quite right

yeah I agree with you, I cant stand the way zagg feels on my TP2 its too sticky and makes my finger skip across the screen. I read 2 different threads at ppcgeeks and one on here and everybody just talks about which on is there favorite even on youtube all you find is unboxings and people talking about if they like it or not. I cant find anyone saying I have "_____" and it feels like "_____" so i understand exactly what you mean!
I even went so far as to ask on yahoo answers and got the same responses "Dude go with zagg its the best" or "heres a coupon code for phantom skins" nobody answered my question which was "How do the different skins feel?"
So... I emailed bodyguardz, phantomskins, ghostarmor, and clairvue.... they all replied except for clairvue and said they wernt sticky like zagg but the only one who is currently shipping the evo skin is bodyguardz and they wante like $40 to ship it to me b4 the june 4 launch date (NO FREAKIN WAY) now that its been a week and clairvue hasnt replied to me even if they do i dont wanna do business with them because if they poor customer service b4 i become a customer how are they gonna treat me once they already have my money?
Here is what I decided to do. I live in California so I'm surrounded by malls Ontario Mills, Montclair Plaza, Tyler Mall, Victoria Gardens and so on... I'm gonna go to one of them find a phone kiosk (you know those little carts in the mall that sell phone accessories?) and buy my skin from one of them because they will open it and let me feel it b4 i buy. I paid $45 for my full body zagg at the mall they guy put it on for me and everything but i hate it. My cousin went to a mall kiosk and paid $25 for some off brand one the guy put it on for him it feels great not sticky or anything protects his full phone sides and all (my zagg does not) and his phone doesnt have one scratch on it. I would go where he went but they closed down but all of those kiosks sell the same stuff its no big deal...
Ghost Armor.
It repels my face grease, my g'f's makeup, and my carkeys without fail. Comes with a lifetime guarantee, that will be good even if you have to switch the device through TEP! (Note: you have to bring the protector back to them and pay the installation fee again!).
It's not "terrible" on price ($15 for the screen, $25 for a full body + $5 for the installation) and works perfectly.
I've had others on older phones (Invisible shield) and they where sheer fail, but this one is exactly what I wanted!!
The feel is slightly rubbery, but I never have traction or grip issues. TBH it almost seems like my screen is MORE responsive with it on there!
Honestly, i picked up the 3 pack screen protectors they carry at sprint when i got my phone and think they're fantastic. They're a hard screen protector, easy to apply and have absolutely no stickiness or rubbery feel to them at all, my finger glides across without resistance. Like you i've been trying to find a "better" alternative but so far all i've found is more expensive and sticky options.
http://shop.sprint.com/NASApp/onlin...=Carry+&+Protect&selectedAccessoryID=ZCH6900V
I went with these after verifying with the seller that they are the hard type have a cut for the speaker and a hole for the front camera. they also cover from top to bottom including the buttons.
hkcyberport ebay
zagg is a little sticky, but doesn't seem to be interfering with anything yet. I was turned on by the whole "made for helicopter blade" thing, and it was the only screen protector I could get between the Sprint and Best Buy stores withing a few days of launch.
Turned on -> non sexually.
Add me to the list of Zagg haters.
I use the Seidio ones. They're pretty good. Nice and smooth to the touch(no stickyness). Also very easy to apply/remove. They do not have any adhesive on them, they are the "static" type. I really like them.
My only complaints would be that they aren't a 100% perfect fit, and they do collect oils from your hands somewhat. I wear glasses, so I carry microfiber cloth for cleaning pretty much everywhere I go, and a wipe of my phone every couple days keeps it in check.
Regarding fit: I have about a 1mm space on the sides that the protector doesn't cover. I re-applied mine a few times to get this unprotected space even on both sides. The edge overlap of the Platinum case I got from Best Buy ALMOST covers the unprotected space. So, not really a dealbreaker for me.
I am very happy with my Bodyguardz protector, I just wished it protected the back edges a little more.

I'm waiting for Amazon to stock the Seidio screen protectors. they got a 2-3 week backlog right now. But the Seidio's look great cuz they cover the entire front glass unlike the sprint ones which only cover the part of the glass that is above the lcd.

Add my vote! Boxwave is the best. I also have used on my Nexus One and Apple Ipad. Best bubble free screen protector IMO!
Just a quick update.. bought a few cheapies on ebay and they are the right textures. Clear hard and not sticky. I'll post brand/ seller / links when I get home. But they were the .79 cent cheapies. Only thing they are just slightly too short, there is about 2mm still exposed at bottom... doesn't quite fit the ear speaker but it was an easy fix. Got 3 diff ones from diff sellers just to try them out. They all ask to be same size layout ant texture..
I've read a coulpe of people's post about the screen flickering after using the screen protectors that require you to use a spray and squegee. I know everyone knows that the EVO has moisture indicating stickers and if they get wet it viods your phone's warranty unless you have the TEP from sprint. Are theses just isolated incidents or should these type of screen protectors not be used? Thanks for all your input in advance!!
If you apply too much liquid, you can cause that. Any time you are using a liquid around electronics you are taking a risk.
i tried quite a few before finding boxwave. I use those now for everything i can! I also like them because they are smooth enough to use swype with.

Haven't unboxed your Vibrant yet? Read this

Leave your screen protector on.
If you haven't taken it off yet, Don't! Just get a gel case and tuck that little tab at the top of the screen protector back and slide your case over it. The SP that comes with the phone seems to be high quality and is already been applied properly for you (Look Ma! No bubbles!).
I took mine off the second day and that was a mistake. There was barely any difference in screen quality after taking off the SP (the screen was just as awesome with it on or off). Swyping and gesturing was just as responsive as well (maybe even a little better). The only difference now is my screen is a fingerprint magnet.
Does anyone know the manufacturer of the screen protectors that come with the Vibrant?
I checked Samsung's site for SP accessories but I'm not sure if they are the same ones that come with the phone.
*Also it seems that a lot of people have said that the screen protectors that T-mobile sells are not that good and you should not waste your money. The verdict is still out on the clearfreak ones, but I'm not sure if it will be as good as the one right out of the box.
I cut the tab at the top off and it lays flat now. This will work fine until my IvisibleShield arrives.
Please update us on the quality of the IvisibleShield compared to the original screen protector when it arrives. Pics would be great if possible. Thanks
I can say after 24 hrs. the clearfreak is awsome, much better than the zagg was as far as visibility and texture. I don't know when it comes to protection and hope I never have to find out. But overall would recommend especially at that price.
That is really good to hear badaphooko1.
Do you Any tips and comments about the application process?
And would you say it is of the same or better quality than the screen protector that came with the Vibrant?
do a google for martin fields screen protector installation video - all the mfgrs have install videos but the MF one had one tip that was awesome using two pcs of scotch tape as "handles" so you could position the screen protector on your phone without leaving fingerprints on the sticky side
you'll know what i mean when you see the vid
The 'factory' protector isn't amazing or anything. Mine isn't even fully applied (coming up on left, bottom & top). It's been in the TMo silicone case since it left the box. It's suffice until my ClearFreeks arrives next week. The sensitivity is good, but it's not a replacement for a good screen protector.

I usually get my phone ghost armored, just get the screen ghost armored and then put a case on it and your set. ghost armor seems to be the best product out to keep the phone in tip top shape
I had to pull mine off because I was fiddling with it. It wouldn't stick all the way down at the top, and I pulled it off a little ways to get it to stick up top, and then I couldn't get it re-aligned and the sticky side started attracting hair and dirt =\
raduque, that is basically what happened to me. After reading a good review of it by badaphooko1, I went ahead and placed the order for the clearfreak screen on ebay http://item.ebay.com/300445111269
looking at that sellers history, seems like the people are pleased with thier purchase.

I ordered the invisible shield from Zagg and then saw this thread about the Clearfreak. For $5 I went ahead and ordered that one too and will decide which one to use when they get here. It never hurts to have a spare.

I use ghost armor and they apply it for you with a lifetime guarantee. For $40they did mine in about 25 mins and had to make a custom one for the 2nd back case... great work and excellent product.
Kept my stock screen protector on and cut off the tab to get it nice and flat. It looks pretty good for a "free" item (see small bubbles in the top right and bottom left). I'm debating putting a one on while this one still works. Thanks to OP for the tip.
One tip if you get any dust or lint on the sticky surface. Cut a strip of scotch tap and use it to lightly dab the sticky side or screen. The dirt will stick to the tape and it is a good way o clean the protector.
Think it's too late for me to do this. The tab got could inside my pocket and came off when I took it out, causing a bunch of lint to stick to the back. I cleaned it off as best I could with tape but there are still small particles that create bubbles when I try putting it back on. Guess I'll order the Clearfeak when the guy comes back from vacation and just go with that.
I've "cut the tab" for four phones now. It gives me time to read reviews.
I changed out from the "OEM" screen protector to Realook, and boy howdy, what a difference! If you guys aren't seeing a difference between the one that came on the phone and what you're using now, you need to check out these. I had no idea how nice the screen really is until I did this. (It was really, really easy to apply.)

Has anyone tried the zagg screen protector for the vibrant? I watched few scratch videos and it looks like it is very durable. What I didn't like is the part where you have to apply it wet. Has anyone tried them on vibrant or any other phone?

I have changed over to the Realook and I couldn't be happier. Much more clear and much smoother.
I have the Zagg Invisible shield (screen only).. I will say it works as advertised as far as protection....
my disappointment is that my screen no longer feels like glass... its harder to use Swype because the screen is kinda rubbery and ur finger(s) dont slide as easily.
ALSO can't swear it's the reason... but trying to (for example) move the cursor when ur texting.. like trying to go back and add a ".... the precision is off... i have to try several times to get the cursor in the right place (makes me miss having a trackball).. I dont recall if this problem existed before i got the shield.
Damn, I wish I had read reviews like these before I dropped closed to thirty bucks on this crap. The protector needs to "cure" but already I can see a couple small (1cm and 2cm) straight vertical lines that at first looked like cracks (I had to throw away that pair of underwear). "Fortunately" I read the recent posts to this thread and found out it's not a problem with the screen. I thought perhaps all the squeegeeing messed it up.
The positive: it protects the screen from accidental scratches and acts like a oleophobic coating that should resist oily fingerprints (I don't know about you but I need that, bad).
The negative: the screen is no longer smooth to the touch so gestures are a little buffered but more consistent (without the shield, it would be best when the screen was clean but it would get jerky when the oil built up); the crisp picture is a little dull.
I don't think the hassle is worth it but I bet when you get that first scratch you'll wish you had the shield on. The grass is always greener on the other side.
Last but not least, at $30 for a piece of plastic, Zagg really needs to deliver perfection. This is just shameful.
If you like the Zagg, you might try www.bestskinsever.com since they're basically the same exact thing, just half the cost. I had them on my G1 and liked it. They're presently working on a Vibrant skin.

Just request a full refund. They should honor their money back guarantee as long as you're still within the time period.
Just received mine and really am not disappointed with the product it is a little less glass like but is not hard to use swype, clarity seems the same and screen response is about the same I could tell a little drag with the screen nothing crazy,i will say onr thing that confuses me is the back cover does not even cover the edges which is very word to me considering that's the most likely part it will land on. I'd give it an overall 7 out of 10. For the price there are better alternatives but it willdo the job. As far as the vertical line problem I cannot comment on that as mine did not have that problem.

I took it off ... got tired of looking at the wavy pattern of the plastic and the two "imperfections" on the shield ... I'd rather look at scratches. Plus, trying to swype only to fall short of the letter I was aiming for got old quick (the skin loses momentum from the extra resistance that the membrane introduces).
Anyone who claims their screen looks roughly the same after the Zagg Shield treatment is smoking something that he/she should share with the rest of us.
I also contacted Zagg regarding a refund ... let's see how that goes.

I took off the Zagg too. I just couldn't handle the look and feel.
Go get the Realook and you'll be very pleased. Search Realook Vibrant on Ebay and get it from the seller "realook". Shipping is free and super fast (I got mine in two days and other have reported next day delivery).

Thank you sir! I will check it out.
BTW, folks, if one searches for Samsung Galaxy Gorilla, one finds many references to the Galaxy S phones having a Gorilla screen that is scratch-resistant (which is an understatement for the kind of abuse they can withstand). Sounds to me like many of us wasted time and money to protect something that didn't really need the protection. Just my two cents (albeit very, very late).
Good luck to all with their screen protection strategy.
Ghost Armor...
Ghost Armor...look into it! thinner than invisible shield so it's more responsive and doesn't get that orange peel...same lifetime guarantee, overall better product!
Well I got my 2 zagg screens, applied first 2 nasty vertical lines on the screen. removed it next day. Applied second thought what are the chances in getting two defective screens... same thing but this time only 1 line. Keeping this one on until my realook arrives.
Love my screen. Invisi sheild ftw

I thought I'd input my 2 cents on this topic:
I got this directly from the manager of the 3M distribution facility for my area...
3M owns the patent for this kind of protection film.
Clearbra, Zagg, BestSkinsEver, basically anyone saying their product was designed for military use (on helicopter blades), they are all getting their materials from 3M. The only difference between vendors is the measurements they take, and ultimately the template they use for the application.
It sounds like Realook is a different material since it doesn't have that same rubbery feel to it, so they are probably not getting their stuff from 3M.

Having had both on my Vibrant I can tell you that they are definitely different material. The Zagg is flimsy rubber feeling material that requires water to install, the Realook is a harder plastic feeling material that appears to cling to the screen as it touches it.
After having both on the phone I can say without a doubt that the Realook is the superior product. It goes on easier, it's transparent, and it feels like the original glass.
Side note... I showed a buddy my phone the other day and he was playing around with it for a few minutes watching Avatar and playing a game. As he handed it back to me he said "you going to put a screen protector on there?" I said "It already has one". He looked again and he still couldn't tell that it was there, even after I told him.
Realook for the win!

Shields and screenprotectors experience topic

There are many topics in this forum about screenprotectors and shield. That's why I decided to make one topic on this subject based on my experience. I've used protectors for the Xperia X1 and the HTC Desire, i've used the following:
Screenprotectors
Brando UltraClear My experience with the Brando's are very good. They are easy to install as they don't use glue, but some kind of static energy, I don't know what it is exactly. Due this, they can be reapplied by peeling them off and reapply them. And you can even clean them with water. This is also a disadvantage, as the protector can move a little around the screen and can be lifted up by sharp objects.
Color distortion due the brando is negligible and in my opinion the brando's have a nice feel to them, which is of course quit important for a screenprotector.
Ebay I've had some experience with these protectors, and while they are cheap, I'm not a big fan of them. They feel cheap and there is too much resistance while touching the screen. I also have my doubts about the protection, especially with sharp objects penetrating the protector, but I have no experience with that. Color distortion depends on how you apply the protector, I have seen some people with some vague lines on the screen due these protectors.
Martin Fields These appear to be the best protectors but I have no experience with them. Please post your experience so this can be a nice overview topic
Shields
StealthGuards This is the shield/screenprotector i use at the moment. The problem with shields is that over time, the small parts (in my case the side of the phone) tends to get loose. That happened to my Zagg shield which I originally bought for my Desire. Since I didn't want to spend $25,- again I browsed around the internet and found this alternative. They are incredibly cheap (Free + shipping, so around $2,-) and hard to beat at that price. The feel of the screenprotector isn't as nice as from the brando. But it's better then the Zagg and good enough for all day use.
The protection you get is very good, every part of the phone is protected by some plastic looking and feeling material. The StealthGuards offers the same protection as the Zagg, and scratches automagically restore as long as they aren't too deep. So you have a lot of extra protection without the bulk and at a low price. Disadvantage could be that your phone gets more glossy. For a matte phone like the desire this isn't something i'm happy about, but you can order matte shields for a small price (which I didn't btw, so I'm not sure how that will look). Also you can't reapply them as they use some kind of glue. Personally I didn't have any problems peeling them off (no glue left on the phone, or easily removable).
ZaggIs more or less the same as the StealthGuard, but more expansive. You do get 2 year warrenty and free replacement for that price, and I guess it's more scratch resistant but with normal use the SG is sufficient for me. I've scratched both with my keys and didn't see much difference. They have more resistance then the SG and I wasn't a big fan of using the Zagg as screenprotector so i ordered a Brando. Installation is better then SG, as SG doesn't even provide instructions or the installation fluid (but you don't need it really, I just pushed it on the phone and it sticked).
BSE is mentioned in this post and is also a cheaper alternative to Zagg.
Installation
For installation of your protector I recommand BillTheCat's excellent installation technique post that can be found here
Conclusion
On a low budget I recommend the StealthGuards, as they are dirty cheap, offer way better protection then the cheap ebay protections and feel better. If you have some more money to spend I would go for a SG + Brando UltraClear combination. This is primarily for the feel on the touchscreen, which I like a lot on the brando. Maybe the MF is better, but I can't recommend it as I personally never used one.
If you have a lot the spend you could look into the Zagg, but you will definitely want another screenprotector alongside the Zagg, which makes it even more pricy. I guess it's protection is better then the SG, but I doubt you'll need it.
This is all based on my personal experience I had with these products, yours can be entirely different and if so, please post it below. I will update this post if users provide useful descriptions on there phone protections.
Great post! A lot of useful information here for those looking to get a screen protector for their phone.
I only have experience with the Zagg Invisible Shield. I tried it on my old hero, and while it's a solid product I just couldn' get used to the way it felt uner my fingertips. I ended up removing it after only 4 days of use. That being said, when I recently retired the old Hero it didn't have a single mark on the screen. So, for me the screen protector from Zagg didn't do anything except lower the usability of my phone.

I don't like pouches, they add weight and slow the process of quickly checking my phone This one looks nice though
I've been using Martin Fields protectors for a few years now. Better quality than most and cut very well so that they cover the entire screen. Easy to apply without bubbles forming and can be removed without leaving residue on the screen.
One thing that i have noticed is a discoloration/wearing on the shield in the most frequently used areas of the screen. It's only noticeable when the screen is off though.
These are very costly compared to most but offer a good level of protection and last for ages.

I heard the same story, since my protector is slightly damaged after 3/4 year of heavy use i'm thinking of buying one and check them out. How does the martin field feel compared to the original screen?

I actually found the naked N1 screen a bit hard to get along with. My finger wouldn't swipe across smoothly and felt 'sticky'. The MF protector was actually an improvement although it takes a days use to wear in properly. I've had the same protector on for a year now and it's still going strong
i use a zagg and love it! goes on great but does feel funny something you just have to get use to the only bad thing i noticed is when i tried to put the one from my white streak on my black streak the screen was totally unresponsive so i had to get a new one bestbuy replaced it so no big deal couple of my friends had the same problem so i guess you can't use it more than once. it will mark up i dropped my streak and tried to stop it with my shoe and ended up kicking it across the room and it put 2 small marks on the zagg but other than that its great and i do recommend it. a little pricey though!
A very good alternative, actually better and a lot cheaper than Zagg, is BSE: http://www.bestskinsever.com/
I started using them on my last 3 devices and have never looked at another product since.

+1 for BSE, I've used them on almost every phone since my BlackBerry days. I've tried others and keep going back.
The ShieldGuards are really good they might be better than zagg I recommend this
Invisible Shield from Zagg is always a good choich but a little bit pricey. They just recently released the universal screen pack to Radioshack so they should be available to you locally. Which is always ideal for me.
They price at 14.99 for three.
I have never tried bestskinsever, but I used Zagg a couple of times when it was still called Invisible Shield.
Is bestskinsever the same sort of product? That is, is it sticky to touch, or does the finger slide like it does on the screen?
Also, does the screen protector part have the orange peel effect, or is it mirror-like, like a normal screen protector?
The Zagg style protectors are fantastic for the body of electronics items, but imho very bad news for screens, especially touch screens.
Updated startpost with BSE. I will take some pictures of the Stealthguard installed on my device
Im thinking about getting a zagg. they just gave me a simple screen protector from verizon when i picked up my thunderbolt. definitely not going to cut it.

Those are new to me. How do they feel and react to scratches?
bought my hd 2 with a screenprotector today and the protector is shining under the sun. can't see a thing.
It seems the StealthGuard is no longer free, however, for $10,- you get 2 protectors, so it's still very competitive when compared to the others.
Edit: There seems to be a workaround and still get the protectors for free if you sign up to become a devaffiliate. I haven't tried this myself (mine is still on), but it's worth a shot. (here or here)

invisibleSHIELD experiences: Is it worth it?

Hey
Id like to get a invisibleSHIELD (Full body) because I like to carry my phone in my pocket and with a case/cover/etc that is not possible sadly. Ive heard ALOT about invisibleSHIELD but they are all mixed. I dont mind much (I think) that "orange peel feel" alot of people have been saying but the important part is does it actually protect the phone. I know that it wont be protected if it falls and such but at least if it is in my pocket it wont get stratched, dirty, etc.
Some hands on experiences would be nice. The terminal Im going to put this on is a HTC Desire Z.
It's a good protection for your phone for a fair price.
But it takes some time to place it without any bubble or dirt.
(Tipp: If you have some dirt making a bubble take a sticky tape to remove it.)
And yes, the feeling of holding the device a a complete different. But you will only recognize it the first day's ...
I have it on my business phone and i'm happy with it.
On my next phone i will buy it again.
I used to keep my phone in my pocket and little scratches would appear all over it. I installed the Invis Shield on it and I couldnt be happier with the results. But as above poster said take your time putting it on and be somewhat generous with the application liquid they give you in the box. Good Luck

Thats something else I also heard: Instalation can be tricky if not done with with that solution they include. Might have to view some YouTube videos for that.
Thanks.
Used the solution they give you to install it. Also let it sit for a good amount of time before you use it, and put it under some source of heat for awhile. Like a lamp or blow it with a hairdryer for a few minutes.
Also check for their discount codes on facebook or twitter. You can get 10-40% off.
Some places will install it on your phone for you. I went to one in a Mall and the people there install them all day on people's devices and do a great job at it. $5-$10 for the installation, but worth it.

Ive also been commented that Best Skins Ever is better. Any comments on that?
i had it on vivaz hd, it's a very good protection but the phone won't look as bright as it would be without protection
If it has any chrome painted parts dont be suprised if the invisishield pulls off the paint.
i've had mine on for 6months (screen guard) good, lasted longer than other protectors, but their scratch-proof thing is a gimmick. Mines been through for abt 6months and there are loads of minor screen scrathes on it which you can see under the sun. im looking to replace it, i guess :/

There is a difference between gimmicks like Screen Guard and invisibleSHIELD and Best Skins Ever. That Ive realized.
My problem is that if the Best Skins Ever is as good as the invisibleSHIELD at the low price it is selling...
i have a invisishield on my wildfire. whilst it seems ok, some kind of black stuff (fluff?) formed on the bottom of the sides and caused them to loose their stickiness. the bottom panels are going the same way. you would be better off getting a silicone case

I agree, and the thing about them replacing it for free is nonsense (you have to pay p&p which is going to be a lot to the uk)
I will NEVER buy one of these protectors again, I hate the feel and they do scratch easily regardless of what they say. I have minor surface scratches all over the surface and its only been on for 3 weeks. You always are wiping them off to get rid of all the fingerprints, they are worthless in my opinion.

You obviously bought a fake or another produuct that is not invisibleSHIELD or Best Skins Ever.
These 2 I have no doubt do not let anything scratch.

I agree, Invisibleshield aka Zagg products stink. They are very over priced and do not provide full protection for your phone. I stopped using them after they skimped out on my Tilt 2. I would go with bodyguardz which is a little better and they give you 2 kits (instead of 1 with Zagg).

I have an invisibleShield on my Droid Incredible and my Galaxy Tab. I love it. I ordered another one for another Tab I purchased (not an invisibleShield) and I'm going to compare the difference. The shield makes everything look a little darker and richer IMO. It offers really good protection. You can see fingerprints and minor scratches when the device is off, but when you turn the device on, it's crystal clear. I think it's a great product and worth the money. I paid to have it installed on my Tab at Best Buy, what a waste of money. It was easy to put on my phone and I did it without any bubbles whatsoever.
I had invisibleshield and best skins ever on my BBs, EVO, and others.
They're both about the same. The BSE are cheaper, but they save a lot on packaging and extras.
I got away from them because of the orange peel effect.
They do protect though. I did have a problem with my BB curve protectors eventually peeling away at the corners from taking it in and out of my pockets so much.
I can take a knife to my screen, yes I have done it but dont recommend it, all it did was leave lines in the oily residue which always coats my phone. It wiped off without a trace. The corners are starting to peel again after six months of abuse. But thats whats great about their warrantee
