TSM-LockscreenParts Port 3 Lockscreens for the Nexus S
Original thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030028
Please take a second to visit and thank teamsbrissen for their hard work on creating this app plus supporting me and maddoggin during the port. Thanks to maddoggin for getting me started and sharing the epic source. Thanks to dagr8 in irc for answering questions.

This is my progress so far porting the lockscreen parts mod to the Nexus S. Once you install this mod, you settings.apk will be modded as well. When you hit the soft menu, and choose settings, below the about phone option will now be a choice called Locksreen Parts. Then choose Lockscreen Settings. First thing first, there is a choice at the bottom called Custom App. This is very important. Choose an app for that before you do anything else. What this assigns is an app to open when you use the 4tab lockscreen the top tab on the right is labeled TSM. When you slide that tab if you do not have an app selected, you'll reboot. Once you set that then open the app and choose between the first 3 choices, AOSP, 4Tab, and Rotary. All three lockscreens have the music controls on them. They work with the native Google music app I'm not sure about many aftermarket ones because I don't use them.
If you choose a lockscreen that isn't available nothing bad will happen, it will simply revert to AOSP. I'm calling this an alpha because it's unpolished, and it's merely a stopping point on me getting more to work. I would post the source but I can't see hosting it. The source is smali and it's available by going to google, finding smali and baksmali, once you download both those jar files, place them in a folder. Place my android.policy.jar into that same folder. Now with java installed on your machine (win/linux) run the following command to decompile the file:
java -Xmx512m -jar baksmali.jar classes.dex -o classout/
to Recompile the classes.dex if you were to make an edit run this
java -Xmx512m -jar smali.jar classout/ -o classes.dex
Then you will be able to see all the files that I have edited. Eventually I'll get around to posting the output from a diff compare to make it easier on anyone wanting to get into this.
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
Rom Base Stock GJR22 Deodex
(Means if your on a built from source rom I can't promise anything)
Download zip file
Place on SD card
Flash Nexuslockscreen.zip in CWM

WARNING: This will de-Theme your phone. It contains a modded framework-res.apk.

****NOTE: Nexus S owners (GSM) I don't know if this will work on you guys phone, its an edit to android.policy.jar and framework.jar. I'm not sure how they correspond between 2.3.4 on our phone and yours. Feel free to nandroid and become a Guinea pig for the sake of others

alls you have to do is take your roms android.policy.jar, framework.jar, and framework-res.apk and place all 3 in a copy of this update zip. If something goes a wrong, flash your stock files right over them to get back what you had. I'm not sure on this one if it will even boot but if you make a copy of the update zip and put it on your sd with the stock files, you (SHOULD) be safe!

Thanks for the support. I'm hoping to expand on it soon but I'm more focused on releasing a rom then expand more on each part of it.

Awesome, can't wait to see that. I was going to try making a theme, but the xml part of it throws me completely off. I've themed most of my phone to my liking by just changing the png's with photoshop and changing battery mods. But im trying to learn more.

[Dev][Help] lockscreen parts TSM

I'm about 50% done porting this mod to the nexus. I really need help where I recently hit a snag. I'm calling on anyone who is familiar with porting in smali to give me a hand here or the project is dead in the water. I will share the latest stable flash, the latest unstable flash ready for the Epic lock screen all source files and logcats thus far.
If your not familiar with this app you can see the original thread here:

Again I'm another poster non-dev but I really want to see this succeed. Definitely reach out to other phone devs that may or may not be on the nexus...When I was an evo user there were always Incredible and other HTC/Sense phone devs helping each other out!
I'm really look forward to this!

I appreciate that, I've been working with this smali so many hours, its becoming human readable to me . I just hit a break through this morning. I have to keep telling myself I'm working on pure aosp lol. My framework was 100% correct, I knew that but 1 method in particular was missing still. On a hunch I decompiled the Epic's services.jar and the method is declared in services as well so once again I'm moving forward but this showed me there is some work to be done inside of services also. As long as I keep getting new errors I'm pushing forward.

Not really, that's the re launcher it doesn't interact with the files I am editing but thanks for pointing it out. I'm currently trying to match our lockpatternkeyguardview file from android.policy.jar and its a pita but hopefully soon epic lock will be finished.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
Status update I've been dead in the water but now the epic lock is close the method to play the click when unlocking needs to be added into services.jar and some of the smali is screwed but progress none the less

I have been tirelessly editing smali to get both the quick panel and lockscreen mods seen on the Galaxy S phones thanks to Sbrissen. Just as I got a majority of the code in place and running, something amazing happened. First, the fascinate got AOSP, then Sbrissen moved all his work to source code rather than smali. This means that now the previous work I done is pointless lol. Now he has a github repo with the list of edits in source. His rom is based on the GSM 2.3.5 source but it's not complete. There are id's and pieces missing but I've done all this in smali so I know what's needed in source to complete it, so I merged his code into our files in frameworks base, edited settings.apk in source to call the control app TSM_Parts.apk. I also had to add ID's to the settings.java file all of which I hope to set up a github soon to release the edited source.
Sbrissen's Official Thread can be found here: http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?2670-ROM-8-24-TSMPoolParty-V1.2-2.3.5&
This ROM is built from Sbrissen 2.3.7 source. I have the following edits to the source:

LOVE the ROM. Some Questions:
1. Media Sounds (except for music) dont work (screen lock, audible selection) even though I have them checked?
2. I can't download files from the web.
3. Flashlight in statusbar doesn't work.
4. I was trying to edit some of the notification sounds and noticed that there is no /system/media folder? (could this be the reason for question #1?)
EDIT: I copied the media folder from the stock ROM, set permissions and that brought those ui sounds back.
Damn headed to work. I did forget the media folder really sorry. Torch for flashlight will be in next update and fox downloads use download all from the market, not sure why some people have that issue but hope to figure it out

No Ive used xda since jan 2010 but have been a member for only 4 months lol = p
Here you can use this. It will flash anything you put in the /system or /data folder. just replace the placeholder files with yours and flash.
The updater script on this has no text so it will just say updating and done. I use this for testing everything.
You can rename the zip to anything you want. If you look up updater-scripts you can also set it to say things while flashing.
It is easy just need to add in a line that says
ui_print(" ");
and put what you want it to say in between the quotes
Hope this help. Always glad to see more people theming and learning.

All flashing things does is copies files into the proper folders and sets there permissions.

If you have SDK installed, you can pull the twframework-res.apk, framework-res.apk, and systemUI.apk from the device. This is where you can place them in the /app and /framework folders of the flashable zip.

I am just kinda proud that I taught myself to do something so cool so I thought I would share =) It took me a long time...well....all day.
I know you guys won't like it but maybe one of the very few girls will thumb up my efforts LOL.

Do you have the links you used to learn how to do this? Even though I'm not artistic, I wouldn't mind giving it a read and giving it a shot.

Sense 4.0 Multitasking for ICS/AOKP/CM9 (G Nexus Link)

Hey guys, found this by mistake, wondering if it could be run or ported for the E4GT:
[MOD] Sense 4.0 style Multitasking on Stock ICS (added AOKP version)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24622482
Don't see why not. I am going to give that a shot tonight
It should be possible. It was to NS4G and the code to port to other ROMs was posted

This guy has put out all kinds of multitasking versions, I would really like to see him consolidate all of them into an app or incorporate into an AOSP rom settings.

Evilisto is a beast. I tested the NS4G version for him. It had a tiny glitch and he had it straight in 5 minutes. Not bad for not having the phone

Well I tried to flash the one for Aokp b31 but it returned an error about not being able to get the correct product name... so, I was wondering if I could change the product name in build.prop to see if that would work but I'm not sure what the correct product name is.. not sure if it was stated w the error message will try again and jot that down. Will let u guys know soon enough!

If you grabbed the NS4G version, its crespo4g. I don't know if its that simple but appreciate you trying nonetheless

Its actually just crespo in the updater script. But I'll double check to make sure I dl'd the right one. Its just framework stuff so I'm not sure why it wouldn't worm, but then again I don't know much lol
Edit: noticed I got the GSM version so I'm not sure if I should flash it or not ..

I wouldn't. I would try the crespo4g version for sure. I don't know if it matters but your odds will be better at least
Well maybe you will have better luck, but I just tried pushing the files over with adb and setting permissions, rebooted and couldn't get pass boot animation for cm9 alpha 2. Maybe things like these require a wipe of cache & dalvik (but ics wiping anything not recommended), but then again I have a feeling using systemui.apk might be ok, but not so sure about the framework since its from a different phone. So now I'm currently odin back and trying to flash back to cm9 before bed time
Yeah I'll think I'll hold off til some nice dev makes it for aokp since I'm mobile right now

Awesome! Loving that deep blue by the way!
What rom are you working it for, and how difficult would it be to adapt to other roms (CM9/AOKP/MIUI)?

Right now I am making it for my ROM. That is where the deep blue comes from. But when I get it all done I can post some instructions on how to do it to any ROM. I am going to PM the original dev and see if he can help me get the smali done.
wow that looks sweet and that was fast! Hopefully some other devs will incorporate this into thier own roms as well

[MOD][UNIVERSAL] BLACKED OUT Menus + optional extras for 4.2 (UPDATED 12/20/12)

I noticed there was a lack of patches that black out the menus for 4.2 because google switched from png to xml files for the menu backgrounds so I made a patch that patches the xml in framework-res. This is universal and should work in any 4.2/4.2.1 and any future version. Just install metamorph or zipthemer and apply the theme.

Would it be too much to ask if someone made this a flashible zip for TWRP or CWM

This should work. I haven't tested it so make a nandroid if your worried but I see reason why it won't work. It used this script for other patches with no problem. let me know if it works and I'll add it to the OP.

Updated the mod so that its actually completely black. I had to switch the background object from a gradient to a solid in the xml as the gradient setting actually used a really dark grey even though I set it to black.

I will upload a blacked out notification drawer mod later today.
Heres two teaser screenshots for the mod.

Sorry for the delayed response man been at work. I can't flash the zip which is a "zip themer" not sure what that is but it doesn't seem to be flashible in recovery. I get failed and I've tried to download from 2 diff browsers still no luck on flashing it.

Can you make the menus and popups black also? That way, all the main UI is blacky
The ZipThemer version worked for me. Thanks a lot for sharing, OP!

Awesome! Thanks for this - it bugged me so much in 4.2 that here i was decompiling framework-res and editing the .xml - 'cause i didn't know that Zipthemer could replace .xml files - i thought it only did graphics!
Big thanks for not only making my life easier... but teaching me something new!

Yeah the secret is to decompile and then make your changes and then recompile. Then use 7-zip to take the compiled xml file out of the new apk. You can then put that into a zipthemer/metamorph file.
Hey where is the notification drawer mod? Your late. Lol. Love this mod. Thanks man.

Oh ya. Perfectly. Thanks again. Love it. I run mmuzzy and it is stock hence no theme chooser. So this is the next best thing to customize the appearance of the ui. I use icons from the deviant art sight, battery and soft key mods and this. It works out well. And oh ya the zooper widget from market. Pretty cool customizable widget. Lock screen compatible.

Yup, No problem. I like simple mods like this and things that don't change the ui too much. I personally run cm10 jellybro at the moment. I just feel that too many themechooser themes go overboard and add a million custom icons that a lot of the times look crappy.
