Changing your live ID on your phone - Windows Phone 7 General

Two questions is there a way to reset my nodo unlocked phone without losing the unlock? and the second one is how can I change my live ID is there a registry value or something we can update or change and put a new Live account in it's place?
I have searched the forums and only found a way using xbox is that the only way?

Hi
AFAIU, doing a hard reset on your phone also relocks it. You'd probably have to revert to a pre-nodo rom if you want to have it unlocked again.
when you say "change your Live ID", what exactly are you talking about? Gamertag, email-adress or actuall WLID?

It depends what you mean by 'Unlocked' ?
Network Unlocked = Phone is still unlocked after Reset.
Developer Unlocked = Unlock it again after Rest.
Chevron Unlocked = Install Cert and unlock it again after Rest.
Once you reset the Phone, its on Factory Settings.
So use what ever Live ID you want.
I don't know of anyway to change the primary ID without restting the Phone.

First off thanks for the replies so far, I am selling my phone and I want to remove my windows live email that is tied to it and also my gamer tag ect without losing the unlock for the buyer, if I need to restore to pre nodo then do an unlock I can do that I just want to remove my info off this phone before I give it to them and still keep it unlocked (dev unlocked to side load apps).. do you guys have a link ot the old rom I can restore to and maybe a walk through on how to do it? if that's the only way I will make it work but many does it suck you can't change the ID you first created when you turned on your phone.

Since we don't know what phone you have, we can not tell you where exactly to find a ROM. Look in the appropriate sub-section for your phone on this forum and I am pretty sure you'll find plenty of ROMs that are pre-nodo.

Samsung focus, sorry man it's been a long week normally I am not this retarded.

Before you do a ROM change, try going to settings -> about and resetting the phone.
It will clear all your data and may well stay unlocked, as its Dev Unlocked
I like the fact that you can't change the Pimary ID.
That way if the phone is lost, you can trace it or erase it at any time.
If its stolen, the theif will have to reset it, there for removing all my data.
Na yes I know Andriod and iPhones do this too.

If it's dev unlock or chevron unlock, you will need to setup the LIVE ID on the phone, so there is no way to sideload unlock a phone and also not have it registered with a LIVE ID unless you have access to the new owners email address and passwords...

Now I've got a BIG problem..

Can someone help me? I resetted my phone, and unlocked again with the registry key for Unlock. Then I synced my phone again with my PC and now I can't install anything on my Phone.
Help!!
Sorry for my bad english. I'm from Switzerland
It's normal that after the sync the phone relocks itself again.
You have to unlock it again with chevron and put it into flight mode before syncing again.
This should solve the problem.

Yeah I know that but I used this Code:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg]
"PortalUrlProd"=""
"PortalUrlInt"=""
Since I installed the "Remove Sideload Limit"-App I can't install anything on my LG. I also used the Registry Key for Max unsigned Apps. I resetted my phone yesterday, unlocked with the registry Key with MFG-Menu, Prevent Relock with MFG, and I tried to install some Homebrews. And I can Relock again with Chevron, but I can't Unlock it again!
You might start with telling us what your device actually is, maybe there is some custom ROM out there which is already unlocked.
I've got a LG Optimus 7. But I didn't updated the SDK Live or something. i'm going to download them now, and I^m going to tell you if I still have the problem. Thx!

[Q] Learning to Sim Unlock - Where to start?

Hello! I've been trying to figure out how to sim unlock my phones for quite a while now. I've asked everywhere, even unlocking sites how they get these codes (to no avail of course) and I never tried asking here for some reason. I want to learn how it's done, and how I can do it myself. My Dad jumps from phone to phone and always needs to get them unlocked. I don't want to pay for them anymore, I'd rather do them myself!
I just found this thread: [TUTORIAL] Unlock Samsung [GT-S5570 / i5500 / Galaxy Ace] which will help me unlock my aunt's phone which is nice I guess, but it looks to be a Samsung only method. Am I able to use a similar method with a phone that has an EFS folder? Is it in the nv_data file? How do unlocking websites retrieve the unlock code with just the model, network and imei? Do they simply ask the carrier?
I'd love for any sort of help! Just a guiding light, a path to follow, anything! Please and thank you!
Some phones can be unlocked using software exploits however most require a unlock code that is generated based on the imei as far as I know you can not generate these codes yourself
The short answer is that there are very few ways to get free unlock codes for phones these days. Samsung sometimes leaves system directories wide open which allows for a few tweaks to get the phone unlocked, but most other manufacturers have things locked down pretty tight.
The databases from SIM unlock services are filled with unlock codes which they purchase from manufacturers or component makers.
They have a app now that does it on the market but for how long who knows. U have to b rooted for it to work
unlock codes
Do you know what the name of that app is?

OEM unlocking on Verizon device.

Okay, so, it turns out that I'm the last person in the world to find out that Verizon decided to make the point of owning an Android null and keep the bootloader on the HTCD530 lock fiveever. The very important OEM unlocking option doesn't appear under developer options. After talking to both Verizon AND HTC, I got a bunch of people who a.) barely spoke English coherently, and b.) had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. So I got no help there. Is it even POSSIBLE to somehow reveal the OEM unlocking option on this device, or has Verizon disappointed me after not even being with them for 24 hours?
Same way as I wrote here.
Only problem is that you need a temporary root to write to the FRP partition.
If someone can figure out how to write to the frp partition then follow my thread here.

I wish I'd seen this before I went out and just bought one.
This is not ok.
#VerizonSucks
So still no root possible for vzw version?
Yeah, I escalated this quite high within HTC - and they told me it's not possible. Reading between the lines, Verizon have contractually enforced clauses to remove this option.
anyone tried doing it with fastboot?
Same as other things install the correct driver on the PC and then install the SDK tools with ABD and Fastboot. Within the SDK tools is the ABD and Fastboot exe. Open a Command Prompt within that folder and run fastboot exe and then connect the phone to the PC via the cable and then on the command prompt type fastboot devices and make sure it shows up. once it does type fastboot oem unlock. It will erase all data on the phone. Select Fastboot reboot and then test to see if bootloader is unlocked.
Yeah tbh I'm never using Verizon again, I don't care how much money I'm saving. Their reps are trash, either that, or they're flat out liars. First they told me I could use a GSM unlocked phone with their service (Can't, didn't find that out until I drove to the store to get a SIM, had to get this replacement piece of trash instead, which is the entire reason I have it and not my good rooted BLU phone) Then they said I'd be able to root it quite easily as it's an HTC device (an obvious lie now that I know better.) As soon as my contract is over, I'm switching back to AT&T and telling them exactly why. Disabling rooting on an Android is like putting handcuffs on every person who isn't going to jail. Kind of defeats the purpose of having an Android in the first place.
Like I said before, It is able to be rooted unlocked and S-off. Even Verizon.
I have done this to a few HTC Desire 526. The unlock option in developer options is missing but its only a matter of changing the very last 00 in the FRP partition to a 01. After that your still stuck because even though you will be able to generate the unlock token the HTC DEV Site will reject the Verizon CID.
I have analyzed all of the usual HTC Partitions and can tell you the difference in being Unlocked + S-off is the data that is on the pg2fs , sec, and maybe 1 other partition. I made a image of my s-off 526 and burned it to a SD Card. When put into another device it boots off the sd card and keeps s-off permissions. It's basically running the S-off as the partitions are being read from the sd.
I still need to do some work on this. But i believe I am on to something. To see a totally locked down verizon phone boot and show s-off with the right sd card in it is a promising prospect.
Any updates on this? I bought this device when I was on USA for summer trip, then I came to Mexico and find out that I can only use voice & text but no data because the APN's configurations don't accept other than Verizon's... In order to change that I need to be rooted, but can't root because of Verizon being restrictive with all this things... Any ideas on how can I use my phone completely here in Mexico?
Same here!
I am in the same boat! i hope someone will find something out

[SOLVED] Help to unlock Z5 Premium ?!

Hi there guys! I've got Xperia Z5 Premium (as far as my PC recognize it as such).
It is probbably with locked bootloader, cuz in fastboot it gives me error : <remote:failed command not allowed>
BUT i do not have access to the menu. I found the phone in one mountain near a hut, so far i decidet to try flashing it, but it seems bootloader is locked. Phone is locked also with pin code.
The usual methods i found need IMEI, which i do not have. If i open it, is tehre IMEI number ?
Is there any way to flash it or get the IMEI?
PLS guys, don't bother ****talking about stolen device or such... If anyone recognize it, come and get it.
SOLUTION that worked for me : https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-premium/general/how-to-tottaly-unlock-xperia-z5-premium-t3585640
if you have find that device in a hut. its probably better to return to authorities! the owner might have valuable data in it! atleast try tracking down the owner!
however you can still flash the device via FLASHTOOL using flashmode / original STOCKROM only and you can keep the data also alive by just excluding wipes in the flash firmware area.
once booted try to find the owner info and return the device!
i
Hi. I work in that hut, it is in ski resort, so you can imagine how many people are going thru there. 2 months, phone was ON and connected to WiFi. No sign that someone is looking for it.
There is no owner info on the lock screen, so.... And where i live, authorities are worst than thiefs, so, that is not an option. As there is no IMEI or other info on the phone itself, i think it is unable to find the owner! Also it is foreign sim card in it, but noone calls or text.
EDIT: I've used both flashtool and fastboot, but no success. In flashtool it says "Your phone bootloader cannot be officially unlocked" , in fastboot > Failed(remote:command not allowed)
So, is this a one nice BRICK with clock on it ?!
Isn't there any way to force flash or unlock screen or bootloader ?!

you cannot just simply unlock the bootloader like that. you have to request SONY to send you unique keys and these used as password in order to unlock you bootloader! ( i.e. if the device is NOT SIMLOCKED from the origin country)
-- unlocking bootloader means LOOSING your DRMKEY/TA BACKUPS ,
please make your self aware of all the circumstances!
I have key to unlock bootloader from SONY. May be option in phone menu is restricted so this stop apps from flashing :/
I know about all circumstances.
So far i've flashed OEM rom, but now it ask for google account that was previously used on that phone, which is annoyng. Sony is copying apple or what ? Wtf happen with our android devices

it will remain mystery to me that how did you manage to have imei number of the device while phone was locked---- anyways
while device is open , goto dialer and dial *#*#7378423#*# then goto service info >>> Configuration and check "BOOTLOADER UNLOCK ALLOWED:" if it says NO then sorry, this device cannot be BOOT UNLOCKED. better to return it!
the previous google account prompt is because the old user data is intact. perform CLEAN FLASH , wipe EVERYTHING. (just tick the boxes as shown in the image (FLASHTOOL FLASHMODE , FIRMWARE SELECTED)
and a Big NO to sony copying Apple. and nothing happend to android devices! you can have easy go devices like huawei/lenovo/alcatel/(even samsung) etc. their stockrom can easily be xploited and kingroot supports various of devices under those brands. however Kingroot removed SONY from their website after Android 5.1 since they could not bypass SonyRIC from Android 6
I've got imei thru Flashtool, Emma, there it showed me Imei number.
This option with the code in dialer may be usefull with older android version, now it is unable to use it thru emergency call, since i do not have access to dialer itself.
I performed clean OEM flash thru Flashtool, wipe everything, but account lock is still there.
I do not know where to return it! It is foreign phone. I wait 2 months for someone to call or look for it. I work in ski resort and almost every day someone found lost phone. If i return it to police, they ouldn' do anything about it. Will sell it for 20euro probbably. I have friend in police department so i know what is going in there.

If it is indeed the FRP lock then you have two options:
Input the last used google account information and password. Then perform a factory data reset to turn off the FRP lock
If you purchased or was given the phone contact the person whom you received it from and get the google account information. After entering the account and once your able to use the device perform a factory data reset to disable FRP lock
Otherwise no other help can be offered because the FRP lock is an anti-theft measure. If it was your google account last used and you don't remember your username/password then contact google for help. If you purchased or were given the device then you need to return it and/or get your back.
It is important to remember that when you sell/buy a phone (or give it to another person) it is important to always perform a factory data reset on the device. By performing a factory data reset you remove the google account information and disable the FRP lock.
Thank you, none of these options come into play. There is no way to get rid of this situation with this software? ;(.. Regards

FRP lock is enabled because a google account was present on the phone. In order to remove the FRP lock you need to input the Google account information and perform a factory data reset after your able to access the settings menu.
Was it your google account information that was last used on the phone or someone else's?
Granted it would be helpful if you put a little more info on what it is your trying to do exactly with the phone and what happened leading up to the issue (example: Are you trying to flash firmware to it, are you trying to root it (if root exists for the model), did you buy the phone, did someone give it to you, etc)
It is plain clear that the device is from an unclear origin, a legally owned device can ALWAYS be serviced ultimately by samsung or carrier, whichever one does it in such or such country, when people says it is "imposible" then for sure, they have no legal proof of ownership
I just found that OP posted a similar situation in the honor 10 section, back in 2018, in which of course nobody offered help, as it looked suspicious

The phone had a google account, I did a hard reset. And the blockade popped out. I can go to the Samsung website but I will have to pay for this service. I wanted to rotate the device. I'm not a layman, I know a little about phones. However, this model had the latest firmware. I am not a thief and I have documents for this device.

Factory data reset disables FRP lock. If that is what you did then you shouldn't be getting a prompt. Since you can't enter the Google account information it is apparent it was not your Google account last used.
Unfortunately having papers saying you bought it doesn't mean the phone was obtained legitimately. The person you got it from may not have had the right to sell it.
I suspect there is more going on here then meets the eye.
If Samsung said they really can fix it go that route.
The proper ways to get help with FRP lock have been posted.
Recover the Google account and log in as usual, or seek official help from Samsung. Any other means will not be discussed on XDA.
