[Q] Increase vibration for haptic feedback? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been searching around for this for a while but I couldn't find a very clear answer to this.
The haptic feedback vibration on the phone, is soo soft, at first I thought it didn't vibrate when I was typing, but later I really felt it very lightly. Yhe vibration is very light in general imo, but it's acceptable, but with haptic feedback this is just too light lol.
Now the straight question: Is there a way to increase the vibration for haptic feedback?
I have already tried Kickback, and I like that vibration level, but it works on anything except the keyboard >.> Tried it with and without the system default haptic feedback options on and off.

I haven't seen an option. I miss a lot of calls when my phone is on vibrate. They probably kept it low to give gamers more battery time.

with the vibration thing, you know personally i dont use haptic feedback as i believe the feature will only add to the processes already eating the battery.. with your statments i presume you only want the feedback or vibrations when typing. you might as well try Smart Keyboard Pro from the market. It has a vibration feature for every key you press and the vibration length is adjustable too! at least the vibration feature will only work when typing and not all the time when you do something else with your phone aside from typing. saves battery!

No, he/she wants the vibrating to be stronger so he/she can feel it.

He is referring to when he is typing on the keyboard. Not when someone calls. Grab swift key keyboard, stock does not let you alter the level of. Vibratiob

exactly what i was saying

Thanks for the replies everyone! I'm gonna fool a bit around with keyboards from the market

Wasn't referring to your post. It was meant for the person above yours. Should you have quoted and not be lazy.

Try GOContacts... Maybe that will have better vibration?

[Q] Adjusting haptic feedback?

Is there a way to adjust haptic feedback in the stock G2 rom? I recently installed SMS Popup and the ability to customize the SMS notification vibration had me wondering. I noticed that the strength of vibration in normal system notifications (unlocking the screen, icon presses) has decreased since the day I bought the phone, and I'd like to switch it up a bit. I was initially worried that the vibrator was getting loose like the one in my Iphone did, but SMS Popup alleviated that worry.
I'm imagining this is something that permanent root and a custom rom would resolve, but if there's a way to do it otherwise I'd be a happy panda.
Something like this would definitely be nice but don't know if its quite possible. Don't recall anything like that being available for the nexus for the haptic feedback although there was a setting in CM6 to change vibrate settings for other apps.
I would like to see something done to make the trackpad more sensitive though
There isn't any setting that I have seen. I had the option on my Vibrant and it's something I miss. This one is just so weak

Haptic Feedback

I've searched for this throughout this forum and haven't been able to find anything...
I recently seemed to have lost haptic feedback on my Evo. I made sure that it's enabled and sometimes i would feel the feedback but sometimes not. when I press the capacitive buttons, i get hardly any feedback from them. When I tap and hold on the screen (for inserting new apps icons or removing them or adding or removing widgets) i get no feedback at all. However, I know the motor is working because my phone does vibrate when I test it with the HTC Function Test Program. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm using Myn's 2.2 RLS5 and I know it has haptic feedback because it was working up until 2 days ago. I can hear the motor is trying to spin up but can't quite do it but mainly for the short feedbacks such as, typing or pressing the capacitive buttons. Thanks.

[JB] Notification vibration issues

I've been reading a bit into this and it seems a few people are having issues with the way Jelly Bean handles notifications and vibration.
With ICS, my phone only vibrated when it was in VIBRATE from the drop down menu (imagine!). If I had it set to SOUND, sounds would play whenever the phone rang/beeped/clicked/messaged/emailed/facebooked, but would NOT vibrate.
If I wanted the phone to sound AND vibrate I would check that box under Settings>Sound>Ringtone and Notifications.
Now with Jelly Bean, my phone plays sound AND vibrates (even if this is unchecked in Settings>Sound). I can disable this by unchecking "also Vibrate when notified" under Messaging>Menu>Settings>Notification Settings, but if I do the phone won't vibrate for ANY text notifications, even when the phone is in VIBRATE.
This is driving me crazy. I only want the phone to vibrate if I can't hear it.
Has anyone else run into this and/or figured out a work around? I feel like these are all a bunch of toggle switches and the right combination of them will allow me make the phone operate how I want it to. :\
(shameless bump)
No one has experienced any issues with the notification system overhaul, eh?

I've noticed something odd - after an unknown/random amount of time of using my phone, when I cycle through the Vibrate/Mute/Sound on settings (in the notification window), the phone will vibrate when it gets set to Sound. Previously it would only ever vibrate when it's set to Vibrate. If I reboot the phone this issue goes away. I'm wondering if some app that I had opened has a notification setting where it always vibrates, even when the sound is on.
I have this issue. Not annoying enough yet to look for a fix though. I hipe I dont get a bunch of texts tonight haha

It's driving me crazy! I love the improvements JB has brought but I'm seriously thinking of going back to ICS because of it!
This could be patched with a hotfix I'm sure. Smaller things have been!
Thank you for your post. I have the same problem and waiting for a fix...i wonder if jb 4.2 has a fix?

Vibration is so weak

Is there a solution for this weak vibration. I miss lots of notifications. There there an app were you can let you watch vibrate several times (example 3 time)?
Thanks
I've found the best way is to simply wear the watch tighter. Mind you I have the leather strap. If you use a metal band it may be harder.
But in response to your question, there's an app called "Wizz" but I think it's broken for the 360
Same here. Hoop they fix it with a next update
Stronger vibration, maybe but with decrease battery life the vibration motor is what consumes the most.
For SMS

Try 8sms app
Actually lighflow works much better!
Hi,
I have just added a "make notifications vibration stronger" in last SWApp Launcher Wear version:

zenwatch brief/weak vibration for notifications

Just got a Zenwatch and the vibration works, but it is a very quick single vibration for notifications such as texts or emails. Its very easy to miss. Is this normal?

I can see that being an issue if you wear your watch loosely.
I am hoping that developers will soon build some apps that will allow custom pattern and repeating notifications. I have found couple of apps that come close but need a bit of Android Wear tweaking. Definitely an app I would be willing to spend a few bucks for.
I feel it's too weak, as well. But after having mine for almost a month now, I've grown accustomed to it and don't miss nearly as many notifications as I did when I first got it. But I still miss some now & then, unfortunately. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a software update or possibly a third party app might give the option to increase vibration strength
I think that this app with a bit of Android Wear love and maybe some customizable vibration options might be the ticket. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.intoorbit.renotify
Feel free to join me in trying to convince the developer to go for it.
I used to use the Augmented Smartwatch app with my old Sony, and it had the ability to customize the vibrations there. It also has some Wear support, so I need to investigate and see if it can also do that for Wear devices.
There are a few devs that are working on various ways to augment and repeat notifications. A perfect solution for many individual use cases are not far away.
Here are some of the apps I've been toying with. Note: some don't prominently feature Wear support but all have it in one way or another:
Vibration Notifier fairly simple and elegant. Supports virtually any app in your device. Doesn't add additional visual notifications on the phone or the watch which is nice.
Light Flow a powerful app that is designed primarily for notifications via the LED but the developer is currently working on full wear integration and should be releasing that in the next few weeks.
eNotify designed for custom notifications of email and SMS down to the level of different notifications for different contacts. Very customizable but daunting with so many options and settings.
I use Tasker to add vibrations/custom notifications for stuff I need it for. 3000,3000,3000,3000,3000,3000,3000,3000,3000,3000 as vibration pattern for example wont go by un-noticed!

Can you also make those notifications repeat every x minutes or until the notification is cleared?
The vibration seems very strong to me, I've never had an issue and if it was stronger it would be bone rattling. No offense but are you guys that are having trouble feeling it larger people?

Yup, I'm 99,9% sure that's possible in tasker. I don't have need for that though so I havent implemented it myself

Haha, I weigh 114lbs and have tiny wrists. But I don't think the vibrations is THAT strong. They're really short at least. Making them longer or giving them patterns makes them much more handy for my use.
I like Vibration Notifier on the market. It lets you set a vibration alert to repeatedly go off at a given interval for notifications until you clear them. It also lets you set the length of the vibration pulse.
