i cant believe it is possible..

here is the video about duel sim adaptor...YouTube

I have never ever seen an Android phone with a dual sim... But I want to

this could be very functional. and could save a lot of time switching cards.

there are a few dual sim android phones like http://www.fonearena.com/blog/33946/motorola-xt800-dual-sim-android-phone-review.html
but only 550mhz cpu...
all the dual sim androids are gsm+cdma
sadly these dual sim adapters cant do dual sim standby....
meaning u cant call or recieve calls and sms when u select the first sim on the second sim

Check out Motorola XT800. Its dual SIM (GSM+CDMA) phone, but too expensive for its specifications.
http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_xt800_zhishang-3073.php
EDIT: unreal3000, didn't notice that you too provided a link of the same model.

would this be a form of plug and play or would you need to solder it on mobo of the phone?

none of them need soldering...but most of them require you to cut both the sims
to make them smaller...dont worry it wont damage the sim and they give u an adapter incase you want to use the sims again....but the ones which can use 3g are much more expensive!

cutting them in pieces to make em fit wont be a prob, you could always get a new sim with your old phone number. and that it doesnt require soldering is a BIG +++ to this. im getting more and more interrested.

From my experience (and i have a fair bit) its a piece of cake. Never had any issues what-so-ever

With such a dualsimadaptor do you have to reboot to use the other sim or can you switch between the two simcards when your phone is on?
sorry for my noob question

Simore - Dual SIM

Hallo everybody.
I have a corporate sim without Internet traffic, so I would have a second private SIM card to use to surf Internet.
I was looking at Simore solution
http://www.simore.ch//en/mobile_phone_accessory/HTC/TOUCH.html
I have some doubt, because the SIM insertion space is very very tiny.
Someone has tested another solution yet? Thanks
Well, if you were to look at the installation guide video (bottom of each product page), you would see that, the dual sims method they are using is by trimming your existing sim for the job. Hence, you basically cut your existing SIM to almost 1/2 size of a normal SIM, and put it into the adapter, which is a standard SIM size, hence ought to work (with all phones, size matters). Howver, it is surprising that the smaller one cost less than the bigger version
Bought a 16th gen dualsim adapter, will review it when i have it.
I have it!
It's easy work to make your sims the size it's required to be. Just use a very sharp scissor as it will make the progress easier.
My Vodafone simcard works flawlessly, though my t-mobile simcard refuses to do anything. Might be because i cut it the wrong way / too far inside / or the t-mobile sims are just *****es.
Fitting in the slot isn't that big of a problem, getting it out it.
You need some patience to get it out, but once everything works flawlessly, you'll never need switch sims again.
Ill post images if people want to see it.

www.ebay.com It cost me €10 and some patience instead of ±€15 exc. shipping fees
If you know dutch here's a shop that sells them.
http://www.dual-sim.nl/
and i have a (maybe not too elegant) solution for the issue of removing.
Cut a can in pieces, cola can, bullit can, whatever can.
then cut a piece to shape so that it firmly fits between the metal "housing/holder" and your sim cards, with a piece sticking out side of the housing next to the "stop". (see pictures for more explanation)
If you see it you'll understand what i mean.
I too have this issue... Will both of the phone numbers ring when inserted or do you have to make one the master and the other one redundant if you know what i mean? I have 2 business phone numbers - dont ask! - and i would love to have them both on my Elf.
I am sick of carrying 2 phones around and would love a all in one solution... Especially since my other phone is very close to dying at the moment!
no. you can't get both working at the same time. you'll have to switch on/off (e.g. flight mode) to switch between them. only one can work. there are, however, some phone from china that uses a dual-sim phone (a whole phone, their phone, not sim adapter) that, as according to them enable both sims to work at the same time. these china folks are gooood.
So you say that there's no problem to insert the metal case into the ELF Sim slot ? This is my major question, because I think that the tool is absolutely good, but I'm concerned about the room to insert it into an ELF sim'slot.
Thanks to all.
There is no hussle to get it in there, just a bit tricky to get it out.
I got my 16th gen dual sim working fine now!
Both my T-mobile AND Vodafone sim's work.
Switch, soft reset, and voila! My other phone number is online

Hi Maseo, where did you purchase the dual sim adapter and do you think it will work on a TyTN2 ? Should it function with the DUALSIM TODAY software ?
Thanks !
i saw a simcard to which you can clone around 16 simcards, so you will have an additional menu where you can select which sim to use. you won't need to cut your sim - just a small usb-stick sized device which will read data and settings from your sim and will record it to the new simcard. you will still be able to use your original sim afterwards!
imho, this is a better solution. the only downside is that not all sims can be read.

I've heard about that. The previously mentioned dual-sim.nl has such a dual-sim adapter as well: http://www.dual-sim.nl/product_info.php/products_id/148 (the dutch version) and http://www.dual-sim.eu/product_info.php/products_id/137 for the English version.
Drawback is that only V1 simcards (the very old ones) can be used for this tool. Nonetheless, the card has a regular dual-sim function as well.

Samsung is offering a proper dual SIM phone
It has dual radio so you can have both sim cards active, with the sim kit adapter basically you can switch between sims to make calls but only one of them will be active at any one time which in many cases isnot that useful
Guys this is best thing available except Coolpad....

check it all urself... HKC W1000 & HKC G1000 works wonder..
I used this one http://www.dual-sim-adapter.com/dual-sim.html with my elfin and it's ok.
I have no problem for switching between sim cards.
I insert in my elfin, the digital twincard without the cover only with tape.
I like my elfin with dual-sim.

Dual sim adapter in a Desire ?

Anyone tried one of the myriad of Dual SIM adapters in a Desire yet ?
From what i've seen there is one which you cut your SIM and put 2 in a holder which should fit into the standard SIM slot, but i'd rather not cut my SIM. The second type of dual SIM holder is one which the second SIM is typically folded over the battery with a ribbon cableSP2,,{/w].
So has anyone tried the second type please and does the battery cover fit ok after the adapter is inserted ?
(yes i know two SIM's cannot be active at the same time, but i need the switchable feature without popping out the battery every time i travel out of country for work where the roaming charges are ridiculous)
I tried both with my touch hd. The battery was heavily affected even if manufacterer said it wouldn't.
Now i just carry two phones
-------------------------------------
Sent via the XDA Tapatalk App
I tried the "MagicSIM 2008 20th edition" from deal extreme, it only worked when the Desire was locked to GSM mode only.
3G mode didn't work in a Nokia handset either, so I think the switcher was to blame rather than the Desire causing issues.

I have Simore Dual Sim in my Desire, but he only see one sim card. So i cannot recomend it.
any updates?
I use Simore Platinum, work well. Some time lost a 2 SIM, I have to remove the adapter and check the SIM is a good position.

How does it work with data communication?
I mean if you have SIM1 with one operator and specific APN, when you change to SIM2 with different APN how does that work??
Other question, how do you change SIM, I guess via Simore software. Is it good?, is it fast in change from one active SIM1 to activate other SIM2?
Sorry but I never had dual sim adapter (only dual sim dual standby phones) in a smartphone.

Number Hide and Number Edit.
I ended up getting the 26th cutting for my HTC desire off ebay. If you email the guy who's selling the no-cut version (he's the cheapest i could find) he also sells the cutting version which works with the HTC Desire. I've had it working for a few days now.....running smoothly! I'll report back in a week or so and let u all know if its still running nice.
Not sure what the No.Hide and No.Edit functions do....i might email the guy i bought it off and ask

This is still working great. For anyone who's interested I've also had it working in my Girlfriends HTC Wildfire.

If you are wanting two numbers to go to your phone Google Voice is the best option out there.
Thank you, but I just want to use my phone overseas when I am there, and at the same time be able to use my current USA T-Mobile sim (through Wifi.) Right now it's a hassle having to power off, take out battery, and swap sim each time.

i don't know how two SIM cards would even fit under battery of this phone it's pretty dang tight.

With most dual sim adapter you would have to cut the sims. There are some that dont require cutting but the adapter would be dangling from the phone, which can be concealed with the case (the special scratch protector case.)

Yeah, I also found this (before I posted the question here.) It means the myTouch 4G is not fully tested for compatibility. If you look at some of the other phone models, it would say something like "....fully tested and compatible..."
I was just hoping to see if anyone ACTUALLY used one of these for the myTouch 4G.
Also I read really bad reviews on Simore. About the product not working and can't get a refund. So I dont think I will try them.

dual sim adapter

I used to switch the SIM cards manually in my old GNex, but this has become much less convenient with the SIM tray in Nexus 5. So I've decided it's time for a dual SIM adapter. Such as magic-sim, for example?
Has anyone tried it? Is it convenient to use? Does it fit with all cases? What about standing cases such as this one?
I am curious about this too. The magic sim says it is compatible with the Nexus 5 but I wanted to know if anyone had tried it.
Has anyone managed to get this and have it working?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I have the dual sim adapter that I originally was going to use for my nexus 4 but never tried to do the dual sim.
I've been trying, without success, to put where the sim and the piece under where the info of the sim card reads but keeps saying no sim card. I do have an easy time pulling the sim card out with the piece on the adapter. Keep watching youtube videos but I dont know if I wore out the electro thingies, dont know the technical term, when trying to match.
Does anyone else have any info / experience with a dual sim adapter for the nexus 5
I am in a situation where a second sim would help me out, but i dont want to have to manually swap them out.
Same here, I'd like to use a second sim in my phone if possible... Anyone know if this works?

Thanks for the reply! As I'm in Europe and therefore only ever on GSM networks, I wouldn't be having those problems I guess...
Could you please post some pictures of the adapter and SIMs installed in your phone, please? I have literally no idea how the hell these things would work, or how you'd even get the things into your phone to start with.
Thanks!

I could post some this evening for sure.
It gets placed over the microsim in your phone then they together get put in the Sim tray and then folded over. Its paper thing so you slide that into the phone so you then have the second Sim dangling around. You put a full size Sim in slot two and bend it over the back side of the phone and sandwich Sim two in between the phone and a case. Its fairly thin and fits with the play store bumper well with just a little bulging.

So you tuck the second SIM in a case, instead of the phone itself... Thought as much, I had no clue as to how it would work otherwise.
Shame, actually, because I don't use a case (anymore).
I thought I could take the battery cover off and tuck it in there but the vibrator motor is in the way for it to tuck underneath

Dual SIM adapter from .magic-sim com
Hi!
I've purchased Dual SIM adapter from magic-sim.com
It said the adapter was compatible with Nexus 5.
But now I realized that the phone does not have STK (SIM Tool Kit) - the application to switch between SIMs.
But it seems that the Nexus 5 detects the adapter because after applying it "SIM-1" appeared on top of the display.
So how to switch between the SIMs???
Mine has sim toolkit installed, stock rom.

[Q] Dual Sim V.S one Sim

Hi guys
i want to buy " HTC Desire 816 "
but i want to ask
dose the 1 Sim version get Different from the Dual Sim Version
i mean dose the Dual Sim version get Freezes like the Samsung Dual Sim phones ?
or the hardware get changes from the two versions
or its hard to find the Solving problems for the Dual Sim Version because the dual Sim is not very famous
In general which version is the best to buy?
thanks all

There exactly the same except the dual sim has two sim cards, nothing else is changed.
However single sim has NFC and dual sim does not, so if thats a big deal for you stick with single sim.
Also, single sim supports LTE but dual sim supports only upto 3G, and only in one of its slots.
however, I've had no problem regarding Mods and Roms for my Dual Sim 816, and it's the best dual sim phone I've had as I haven't had any network and antenna problems with it.
thank you guys
i asked this question because in Samsung devices the Dual Sim Version freezes a lot
and i hadn't use HTC Devices ever
i think i will take the Dual Sim version
because my country doesn't support the LTE by the way
and i don't use the NFC already
but i want to ask some other questions
winch version is more famous ?
dose the devices has notification LED ?
and what do you think is the Negatives of the device ?
thanks all

If you don't NEED two SIMs, go with the single SIM. Simply because it does have the extra features just in case.
There both just as "famous" and they bith have a notification light.
