mango build 7712 for developers is out - Windows Phone 7 General

hey guys just saw on twitter that tomorrow microsoft will release a new build ( 7712 )for developers after the beta2 ( build 7661 ) that wil be very very close to the final build rtm wich is 7720. so now i have a question. will this update appear in zune for the current users of mango beta2 that updated from nodo using unofficial metods posted here on xda???

m$ should assume that mango beta is only in hands of developers, and will push the next update via beta zune software, thats how it should be done.
Anyway im kinda sure i will have that update in my phone with or without problems

so is logical that those uf us ho updated to mango beta2 via zune beta 4.8, to get the next developer build via the same zune beta even that the update method is not official as I am not a developer

There still hasn't been any official statement about if 7712 will be released to developers or when this will happen. But I do hope that if they really release it, it'll be an update that will be deployed via Zune.

Link to the tweet ?
This would be pretty awsome to have more features working in detail wile we wait for someone to post the RTM.
Crossing my fingers that this is true..

Are we expecting some more features or surprises from Mango ? Or are we just going to expect some bug fixes here and there ?

Depends on the time zone. Twitter for me, is saying it was post at around 1:20 AM today (the 27th).

interesting thing. i'm trying to install mango b2 on my omnia 7 after previously restored to nodo from mango some days ago. following the same procedure now i'm able to install only the first update to build 7403. the second update to 7661 seems missing, and zune beta says i'm up to date. maybe microsoft pulled off the beta2 in preparation for the 7712 build or is a problem with my device?
P.S.: If I remeber well the first update installed when I first updated my omnia was 7401 not 7403.....

Yeah I am having this same problem.. I just reverted back to NoDa and then I saw this post about a new Mango build being released so I decided to Flash the Mango Beta again.
I assume the 7661 has been stopped and we will flash from 7403 to 7712 When Microsoft pushes it through Zune.
If I were you I would make sure "Use my cellular data connection to check for updates" is enabled under you phone settings so you know when you can Sync and update.

SO excited. MORE MANGO!

i would love to see something new i havent seen in m$ conference, and even smother interface

Let the games begin!

Mango Friends and Family Bundle: Pre-Cleanup (Leaked 7720 already has update needed)

So.. as I'm sure everyone has read, there is an update that will "clean up" the beta provisioning and allow users to update with Microsoft's official servers. It's starting to roll out to the internal Microsoft crew that were apart of the Mango Friends and Family promotion (this is confirmed) and they are running 7720.68. They went through a different update process to 7720.68 than we did so there is something extra that those who are in that group have that we don't. With that said, Mango RTM is supposedly going official 9/27 for a lot of carriers. We need to keep a close contact together to see if all xda-upgraded 7720.68 users will be able to receive those updates that everyone else gets without having to do the unthinkable and downgrade to NoDo. Use this thread to post any findings and such.
Thanks,
Snickler
Edit: ALL LEAKED 7720 RTM USERS ALREADY HAVE THE PRE-CLEANUP UPDATE INSTALLED Thanks schluff1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17922022&postcount=66

From what I hear, all the update does is point the phone back to the production Windows Update Server... if there's a way we can find where to change this (that's given that it's a registry stored entry and not a group of flat db files)

The only thing I hope is in Zune, it shows my 7720 phone as version 7.1, so maybe it will take "7.5" as a upgrade...
The word is my carrer releases it tomorrow, so I gues I will find out tomorrow, if it's true...

Have this on my Focus as well.
I have installed Windows 8 on my Notebook, this is why I have a fresh installation of Zune, does this mean I don't need the cleanup update, because Zune points to the default update server anyhow?
Has something been manipulated on the device as well?
I'm on Mango RTM btw.
First: you are on RTM so you are not receiving the cleanup update, most probably you will have to revert back to nodo or flash your phone back to his original firmware before getting official mango.
Second: never ever use a beta OS to perform a phone update, it's a damn firmware flash, it's not toy!
This guy got the cleanup update on RTM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17866961&postcount=1
You are probably right regarding Win8, I'll use m GF's PC.
wait, in the post he didn't specified it was the cleanup update, it is possible it is just a firmware update from LG to update drivers for Mango
He thinks it's a cleanup update though.
Anyhow, it would be enough for most users if OEMs would just update the drivers, because the missing compass driver is my main concern with Mango RTM.
I guess that everybody will receive firmware update, since it's a completely different and independent thing from the OS
This update is not showing for me? I am running Mango myself I am currently on the official Microsoft RTM version 7720. I am not on the official HTC 7720
Do you think I will get the update or have to play with zune or phone registry to do so?
this post states even RTM users should receive it: http://windowsphonehacker.com/artic..._and_family_bundle_precleanup_update-09-26-11

I'm prepared to roll back to NoDo. What I will do is if I see some confirmed updates today, I'll go to NoDo and try to use fiddler or something to capture the binaries.
Well if not surely someone will make another provision to point us right way? As the one that took Us from beta refresh 2 to leaked Microsoft rtm
Sent from Ant's HTC 7 Mozart using XDA Windows Phone 7 App.
Hi All,
This may be relevant (or not), but I've been running the leaked RTM 7720 on my HTC Mozart.
I was having a couple of little niggles, so I thought I'd reset the phone (which I haven't done since I originally got it on 7004).
Just for interest sake I've done all upgrades from original up to the Mango beta 7712 as someone I know has a developer account, before applying the 7720 RTM.
Not long after I rebooted my phone and connected to Zune I got a popup saying there was a HTC firmware upgrade available. I heard this was available but had never been offered this update previously.
Again, not sure if this means anything or if resetting the phone 'resets' the update server location but I thought I'd put it out there.
Thanks

Hi Ansar,
As per Heathcliff74 there are 4 unlock need for mango 7.5 update
1. Developer-unlock/ChevronWP7 unlock:
2. Interop-unlock
3. FullUnlock:
4. Full Root Access:
I have NoDo version with ChevronWP7 unlock.
If I update to official Mango 7.5 (Samsung focus ATT) through Zune, the above 4 unlock automatically apply? Or I need to prepare for any hack before I update to 7.5
Thanks

You'll need to prepare first. Go to my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224139 and follow steps 1-4 for now. When your Mango update appears, do step #5. You will be fine then.

yes you have to run through those methods listed in order to become interop unlocked. Also yes you have to interop unlocked to install wp7 root tools 0.7. The unlock process I've outlined in the post will set you up. Make sure you run through those first 4 steps in order. Once you update to mango, do step #5. You can then deploy root tools 0.7

Zune Version
I am having trouble getting Zune updated. When I initially went to the link in the first post, it showed a version of Zune @210mb which I started downloading. I turned my head and the download disappeared and now it shows version of 100mb only. The version I'm running is 04.08.2345.00 which does not recognize my Focus running RTM, but does see a Venue Pro running Nodo. It was installed, by Windows Update I assume, after I did RTM. It was just the opposite when I first upgraded to RTM. Thoughts?

[NEWS][Update]M7720 OEM/SYS/XIP Post Image Loader [PILdr] for M7720 ISV Beta by ansar

Dear forum members,
Update on 18/10/2011
My new XAP dev tool "ansar unlock" embedded in U2M7720 V1.3 is receiving tests
Development covers Post Image Loading of M7720 OEM, SYS, and [most difficult] XIP
PILdr task is to load OEM images from Mango 7720 2 Mango 7720 ISV Beta [and not only]
With U2M7720 V1.3 we update up to Mango 7720 ISV Beta only, not to hTC update that is a trap
After update to Mango 7720 ISV beta we use ansar unlock / PILdr to Post Load XIP/OEM/SYS images
That way we keep unlock and control our devices
It is a time consuming task due to tests requirement of over flashing

thank you so much
really great news From a great man >> really thank u for all thing that u did and that u will do , specially 4 wp7

Ok, guys, help me out here, please. What exactly does that mean? That you managed to upgrade to Mango and maintain your dev-unlock?
If so, can that be reverse-engineered to find the weak point of Mango and eventually jailbreak it?
Last question would then be if that would be only a dev-unlock solution or a proper jailbreak with root access.
Any thoughts?

I'm also curious to know, what exactly this new version can do. Afaik U2M7720 can be used to enable older WP7 versions to update to Mango. Its other part is to interop unlock a phone. And I think Ansars new version is now capable to update to a Mango version without the HTC Update.
Or am I still missing something?
I have one simple question: What is XIP? I am getting confused by all these abbreviations
Has anyone managed to get this app and instructions? I really want it.
