[Q] Putting Desire HD back to Stock - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Had a wee look round and cant find anything other than dead links.
I'm looking for the original RUU for my Desire HD. Selling it and the person wants it back to stock.
My desire hd was an unlocked UK model. Anyone got the official RUU kicking about?
Cheers

[Q] Desire Rooted >> Case of Waranty >> Any Problems?

Hi Desire Users..
I've bought a new TMobile Germany Desire.
I rooted it from the beginning..
After a few weeks i had problems with my SDCard Slot
(Card was not found until i restarted my phone)
So i flashed the wellknown TMobile UK Rom and changed my desire at the Shop to another one.
Yesterday i got my new phone.
But on the flyer i got too was a little message. The can send me a bill in following 30 days if my phone is not under waranty.
Now i want to ask you:
Had anybody the same case?
Where there any problems?
Thanks...
Nobody waranty cases? Now i have my 4. Desire!
But i have a htc desire without branding now.

Everyone I've heard speaking of it has gotten a repair or exchange under warranty, almost regardless of rebranding/root I dont think HTC care, as your rom is so close to the stock. Lets just hope so.
Thats one advantage of Android, you can customize it so much even on stock that they can't find you for rooting it. Usually when I send it back to warranty I either screw it up a lot or make it look like stock.
If they send you a letter after a few weeks ask them to prove that you rooted the phone. Then kindly remind them the phone has not been in your hands for a while.

[Q] Cracked glass being sent for repair, unroot?

Had a search, but couldn't quite find what I was looking for.
Around a week ago, my phone slipped onto concrete and the outside glass cracked - I believe the screen itself is fine - however some of the proximity sensors aren't quite right (black screen continuously in call).
I had been having some overheating problems before then.
Presuming my claim is accepted - The insurance is through Lloyds TSB, who use Lifestyle Services Group.
I rooted my phone at 2.2 software no. 2.10.405.2 and haven't updated since. Before the root I had unbranded the phone from the orange software to the stock sense and then updated from there. I also unlocked the phone prior to this.
So do I need to:
Unroot?
If yes, back to an orange rom?
Somehow lock it back to orange?
Thanks for your help!
You will need to unroot, you can do this by flashing the orange RUU,it should be in the development thread
Hope this helps

As far as I'm aware, the Orange RUU was never leaked? I have seen from my searches that one or two users have nandroid backups of it though - would I be able to use tese to restore to the Orange Stock.
If no - do you think they may turn a blind eye to unrooted WWE Stock? Considering Orange arent actually doing the repairs or handling insurance?
Rooting voids your warranty, not insurance, but to be safe you could use an unbranded ruu(will need goldcard, I think.), they don't check anyway.

Yep, I've had the same problem before. Unrooted with the WWE RUU and sent back to Orange using their insurance. No questions asked

[q] htc desire is deleted from htc web ?

I went to HTC official web. i was going to look the Desire and Wildfire details. But unfortunately i couldnt fine them. I only found HTC desire S and Wildfire S
Does it mean HTC Desire doesnt get supports and updates anymore ?
The Desire got EOL'ed already. So they probably won't update it anymore. Unless there is an extremely big bug or glitch with its rom.
That will probably be the end from HTC. How will they get you to buy a new phone if they keep giving you updates

if it were another phone one would say: R.I.P. Desire
but thanks to this site desire is still pretty much alive...

[Q] Have a look, about converting an htc one m8 eye

Hi guys,
so i just got an htc one m8 eye by a local retailer in my country, on my previous htc i had android 5.0.1 on it and wwas running smoothly. My question is that if i s-off and install a htc one m8 firmware and and full system and the device, will the camera cause any problem? i know the normal, original m8 has got a 4up shooter whereas the m8 eye has a 13mp.
will i encounter any problem if i do convert the phone into an european one?
They have some hardware differences so I don't think it will work.
You could very well brick. Not a great idea unless you find from a reliable source that it's possible.
