------------------------------------------------
2.6.35.14 Linux:
Built on 10-4-2011
This 1st kernel is built from source of cyanogen-samsung-kernel. It is 2.6.35.14 with pre2.3.3 colors. Has the "SmartassV2 governor".
Great on battery life with 800mhz max frequency and SmartassV2.
Works on any kernel by flashing zImage only.
(Attached below) *update coming soon
------------------------------------------------
Talon-apocolypse-3.2.1 from source(Source provided by iceandfire):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1291897
This is apocolypse from source with pre-2.3.3 colors. All the quality of the Latest apocolypse goodness. The colors from pre 2.3.3 build are amazing! Very vibrant and colorful. {Be sure to try "Voodoo profile v1 <2.3.3 rating: 5/10" in the voodoo control app under color profiles}
*I chose not to implement deepidle as in my opinion it's still very much experimental.
**Best battery results are in the SmartassV2 governor with a max frequency set at 800mhz (opinion based on my use)

2.6.35.14 [email protected]:
TigerStripes-v1:
2.6.35.14 Pre 2.3.3 colors
based off samsung-kernel Thalamus. Optimized source by him for quality and battery. Pre 2.3.3 colors added by me.
(Attached below)
------------------------------------------------
2.6.35.13 Netarchy based from source (built: 10-23)
This kernel is very snappy and responsive with great reliability. Pre 2.3.3 colors built in with all drivers working great. Voodoo action also. Loaded with v10. {Be sure to try "Voodoo profile v1 <2.3.3 rating: 5/10" in the voodoo control app under color profiles}
(Attached below)

Matr1x 15.0 CFS Pre 2.3.3 Colors (built: 01-24-2012)
This kernel is virtually the same as Mathkid95's kernel only built with pre 2.3.3 voodoo colors and sound drivers. All credits for this should be directed to Mathkid95. All complaints please go to me.

Nice man!!!!

how did the colors change after 2.3.3?

Well to me....pre 2.3.3 is more colorful and less dull.

interesting.
but couldnt we get similar results by just tweaking the voodoo app differently in the colors settings?

Nice! Is this cfs or bfs?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA Premium App

I dont think you would get the same results.
Believe bfs

OP updated with Matr1x 5.5 CFS Pre-2.3.3 colors.
Thanks Reddv1 for the guidance

OP updated with BFS version of 5.5 also.

Bad ass colors!!! Thanks man!!!

Glad to hear it. If you like Matr1x, your in luck cuz i will keep this up-to-date with the latest Martix kernels.

Love it. Bad ass colors n awesome matrix

New to the nexus, Guess ill need to download this and try it cause I have no clue what "colors" this is talking about. I am assuming the richness of the colors that the screen produces. Anyway, thanks.

Make sure you guys choose color profile 1 in the voodoo control app to get rid of the purple tint.
I love the colors, thanks snandlal for the kernel!

OP updated with 2 new zips for Stock with EXT4, VOODOO, BLN and init.d scripts
Thanks to Reddv1

Didn't work...just flashed it and it took me to fast boot. Both kernels.
Restored nandroid...flashed again. It flashed appropriately. I don't notice too much difference.

Just flashed it and its running great... Except my wifi doesn't work anymore... Anything to fix this??

[KERNEL][WIP] Classic Sense Kernel v1.5 [JUL 22 2012][GINGERBREAD][SENSE]

Classic Sense Kernel
This kernel started out of a request from tommytomatoe to have a stock kernel with sbc optional. So here I present a stock-"ish" kernel for gingerbread. Hopefully this will fill a niche where either the end user who likes the stock kernel, as well as the user who has issues getting custom kernels to run will both have something to flash that gives them that little bit extra without going overboard. There is no overclocking in this kernel, nor undervolting. This is for a stock experience with a few tweaks.
What's in this Stock-"ish" kernel
Stock Kernel 2.6.35.10
Enabled Wireless N
Powersave Governor enabled
Perflock Disabled
HDMI Fix
GPS Fix
3 Point Touch Check
10 Point Touch
Superior Battery Charging (SBC)
Audio Boosted with On/Off Toggle (default setting is on)
Fast USB Charge with On/Off Toggle (default setting is off)
Reduced Wifi Voltage
Front Facing Camera Fix (should work on all gingerbread sense)
CIQ Disabled
Fix for those having issue with hostpot
Enabled EXT4 Support (applied performance patch)
Instructions
Apply with your preferred custom recovery and clear Dalvik Cache/Cache.
For SBC
It seems to help if you wipe Dalvik Cache/Cache.
And make sure the phone is fully booted before plugging it in.
For Audio Boost to turn on and off
Code:
Audio Boost On
echo 1 > /sys/kernel/audio_boost/aboost
Audio Boost Off
echo 0 > /sys/kernel/audio_boost/aboost
Query Audio Boost Status
cat /sys/kernel/audio_boost/aboost
For USB Fast Charge to turn on and off
The below code will toggle it in the terminal, but a cool way to turn it on and off would be to support the original dev who put this mod together, chad0989 by purchasing his widget that controls this version of usb fast charge as well as the patch version. LINK TO WIDGET
Code:
USB Fast Charge On
echo 1 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/fast_charge_usb
USB Fast Charge Off
echo 0 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/fast_charge_usb
Query USB Fast Charge Status
cat /sys/kernel/fast_charge/fast_charge_usb

the test kernel is an early version of a custom kernel i am working on, this kernel is stock governor, scheduler, etc.. so its up to you, the sbc should be the same either way... the test kernel had smartassv2 as the default governor and this one doesn't have anything that's not in the original kernel...
also if you guys can do me a favor
just let me know if everything works out right, tried to compile both kernels, get the post up all tonight, so I am hopeful I didn't screw anything up lol
finally! haha the wait for this kernel was unbearable haha. nice work, flashing first thing in the morning
+1 I really liked the test version of this can't wait to try this one I will let u know how it goes thanks bud .

I'll try to get out the synergy type zips out tomorrow... i know godmode and nightlies flash differently, so I just need to see how det4cpu and/or lithid did it, and I'll set them up... well i hope all goes well guys..thanks for trying it out...gotta get up in 4 hours to get to work...night.
This is the first kernel I've flashed -always been satisfied with stock. UNTIL I read all the recommendations for this one. So I figured now's as good a time as any to give it a whirl! Very eager to see how thingsvturn out. Thanks for your hard work!

After reading this I'm unsure which one I just installed...lol. I downloaded the one that someone posted or linked to on Tommy's Classic thread.
EDIT: After flashing this on both my wife's phone and my own, I noticed my location changed to a city that's 45 minutes to an hour away. This happened a long time previously and it drove me nuts. Any idea what could cause this?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
The test version caused reboots. Hopefully this one won't.

[Q] Kernel for CWM10.1 for overclocking

I have looked through the forum, and even on CM's forum, but did not find the answer I was looking for, so I ask, if thats okay.
I am Using the newest stable CM 10.1, and I would like to replace the kernel that allows overclocking. I have seen Francos Kernel, but I do not know how well it likes the New CM10.1.
Any suggestions maybe?
