OTA 3.2 Nag - Xoom Android Development

Can anyone tell me why (I'm on a wifi only 3.1 rooted stock.) I am getting 3.2 pushed by verizon? Could it be I got the update while tethered to ogd1? Weird...

Why do people not read the stickies in the top of this forum? This is NOT development.
If one cannot figure out where to post a simple question, how could he possibly handle a rooted device? Thread closed.

[Q] ROOT 2.2 FROYO OTA update 8/2/2010

I am awaiting my replacement EVO which will more than likely have FROYO 2.2 OTA on it when I recieve it, fortunatley my phone guy will give it to me unupdated in the event it dosen't have it. My guess is that is why I haven't recieved my replacement yet ( been two weeks on back order from Sprint) they are probably updating the replacements to break Root, so I'm just wondering if the Dev's have anything in the works yet...
Must have Root...
Thanx

To reiterate: If it's a question not pertaining to a specific devs work, and is not in that dev's thread, it should be in the Q&A section. Q&A stands for Question and Answer, for people that aren't aware.
To answer you question: No there is no root yet for the OTA 2.2

Please i m been reading alot ,i find that is not possible to root the update froyo 2.2, but from forums post from last month .i will like to know it there a new fix. please could someone help me with that.thank you
.......Smh
Hi eddyfalmaguer86,
From a sticky post in the EVO Q&A forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747495, which was last updated on 8/10 as of this post (8/21), it appears that there is "no known way to root a stock Froyo at this point."
This appears to be the inability to downgrade the 0.93.0000 HBoot which comes with stock Froyo, but my guess is that perhaps in a few more days or weeks, some brilliant guy will find a way.
Good luck.
Sorry to jack the thread, but in froyo release it said we are able to add and search unknown friend on friend stream. Anyone know how the hell?

If you read "in forums post from last month" that it was not able to be rooted, if you wanted to know if there has been any change from that, wouldn't you read "forums post from THIS month" to find out the latest news?
I think the admin should make a popup window when someone signs up, that says in huge fonts.. "Evo with version 2.2 already installed on stock phone or with OTA update, is NOT rootable at this time"
Click OK if you understand this.
When they click OK, it pops up again and say's the same message, but with "No, Do you REALLY Understand this"?
Click Ok if you REALLY Understand
Then a popup comes up and says "Ok, if you REALLY do understand, please type
"I understand Evo with version 2.2 already installed on stock phone or with OTA update, is NOT rootable at this time"
Once the person has successfully typed that in, registration advances

PRI 1.90_003 - Where it be at?

So far, none of the various radio or nv updates have updated my PRI to 1.90_003. What gives?
To anyone who installed the real RUU or OTA, was your PRI updated?
Joeykrim claims that the RUU *does* contain an rcdata.img, yet Virus claims that it does not.
We need some answers people!
That is a great question. I would like to know the answer to that as well. So far I have asked a buddy of mine at work who has a bone stock Evo and he reported no change.

The flashable zip that virus posted in one of the initial 3.70 threads for the radios also includes a rcdata.img. But just because the NV updates to a new version doesn't mean the PRI will have changed. Two separate things.
Firstly, do you mind posting in the correct section? This is a question... post it in the Q&A forum...
Secondly, Do you mind NOT using a title that suggests that you have POSTED the update...?
People see your title and click on it thinking that there is the update inside, because everyone is looking for it... but they just find another rant about how it's not out yet... This is extremely counter-productive...

+1, also lets put this in perspective for a minute. I remember all the time spent trying to get the pri 1.40 and it was not worth the trouble. Virtually no difference in performance and alot of wasted hours. Eventually it was posted here by our great contributors, after 80+% of us spent countless hours trying different methods getting it to update. So I guess what Im saying is, not this time my friends. Not going to sit here and worry about the stupid PRI. When it updates or is posted great. Not going to lose sleep over it because I know it will be done at some point.
I ran the full ruu and mine is 1.77_003.
The PEI gets updated by Sprint until someone pulls it out and posts it here, there is really no big deal about it right now.

“Where it be at?” is a question guys…. Chill a little. Everyone gets so damn worked up all the time. What's counter-productive, are the rants... Although true, this IS in the wrong section. MODS will move it accordingly.
Just be patient grasshopper, it'll make its way soon enough.

It was changed from "[pri] 1.90_003" and it was in the dev section.
I certainly miss the old Windows Mobile days, when the PRI was updated just by running a CAB file on the phone...
The RUU does not have an rcdata.img, but the OTA DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there any way to flash the OTA if you updated using the RUU and you're not rooted?
Flashable PRI update be here:

[Q] Should I revert back to stock to get official OTA JB update for Verizon GNex?

Question is simple. I installed the leaked JB updated for my Verizon GNex a few weeks ago (build JR0O30). Per screenshots I've seen of the OTA update, what I have appears to be identical...same build #, kernel version, baseband version.
Is there any benefit to me going back to stock ROM to get the OTA update for my device? Note: having access to future OTA updates would be something I'd consider a "benefit."
I tried searching for the answer to this question several different ways and failed. That said, I'm confident there's a thread out there that answers my question, so please feel free to paste a link to that thread and viciously berate me for my forum search failings.

New Update for Tmobile 05/07/13 (Duplicate) Already mentioned in General.

Woke up this morning to an update for the S4. All it stated was it was a update for "Performance Improvement."
I still had morning eyes, so I think it either said 14.1 MB or 21.4 MB.
Trying to find a changelog. Anybody else got the update. Are you seeing anything different?
Edit: Nvm, just saw this posted in the General forum. Apologies on posting it again. Mods, please delete.

If you can get the update zip, let me know..
Unrooted right now. Planning on giving this 16 to my Mom, and getting the 32 when it comes out. Dont want to give her a rooted. But the thread going on in the General section is quite detailed. It included several rooted members. I would recommend to give that forum a try.
