Best auto call recorder? - G2 and Desire Z Themes and Apps

Any thoughts on an auto call recorder?
I'm looking for an app that runs in the background all the time and *clearly* auto records all incoming and outgoing calls and stores them as an audio file locally.
Autocall recorder was a perfect Windows Mobile app that did just that.
Thanks in advance!

You can use the app in this thread. You need a Rom with call recording enabled in the kernel like CM7.1 nightlies for instance. It works great and records all calls automatically in the background. It saves all the calls in the WAV format or MP3 format locally. You can even listen to the files with the music player or app itself.

i just started using this and i must say it is awesome! my only question is does anyone no of a good way to lock or block access to the recorded calls that store into sdcard/voix/ ? i guess its something ive never looked into, but now that i notice my significant other learning how to navigate my phone better id really rather them not be able to access that folder. ant help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanx

also i just started noticing tonight that when the recorder comes on (active) i lose my cell data connection. does anyone know why this could be happening?

Cannot get skype video working

Hello,
My front/back camera work fine on evo 4g with the camera application, but with skype, i get a black screen on video calls for incoming and outgoing video. They cannot see me either. I get a black screen and black sub box(where I should be able to see myself). I have skype 2.6.0.95.
Also, I am using cyanogenmod 7.1.
One other thing... when the screen goes black while on a call, the call starts getting choppy. Can this be avoided? I'd prefer to leave screen off when talking on a regular voice call with skype.
Just try using Google+ it works great. Just as good as skype

Thanks for the suggestion, but I need to use skype. I do not understand why video is supported now but this is what I am getting for incoming and outgoing video. Is it because of cyanogenmod?
thanks,
Here is the version that I use, it is 2.0.0.47. It is from when the evo was not officially supported by Skype, but has been edited. Both cameras work, and I have been using this on the CM Nightly's for several months now.
All credit goes to the original person.. I will try to find the post when I'm back on the computer.

Voice calls always answer with speaker phone on

When not using Bluetooth my voice calls always answer with speaker phone on. How do I default the calls to SP off? I've searched and found a few ideas but none work.
Os this a Goolgle voice thing or related to my ROM? I use Caulkin and I have had this issue for aqhile.

Do you use GV to make & receive calls? Is your phone paired with your GV account, or do you simply use GV for voicemail?
I just use GV for voice mail.

hmm...never thought of that. ****s super annoying!!!
Nope, no Voxer. I'm not even sure when the problem started. It could have been before I started using Google Voice for voice mail (integrated with Sprint).
I haven't found any GV settings that would enable the speaker phone on the phone.

There is a GV setting for answering with speaker on. If your phone is integrated, it might be forcing your phone. Try changing that setting or even freezing GV and see if anything changes
I have this issue too wether I have apps or not installed and even b4 I rooted. I think it's a glitch with the phone itself. It's annoying! It doesn't always do it but when it does it looks stupid that I got the phone to my ear and then the person bust out on the speaker smh

Is it possible your phones are in car mode or the "Driving Mode" that the Samsung version of Vlingo installs? I think one of the car mode features is to automatically answer calls in speakerphone mode.

My driving mode is never on. It just does it idk y.. Maybe it saves the last calls setting so if you hang up on speakerphone the next call comes thru on it. Idk but I will test it out tomorrow and see.

I know this is months late, but my wife's phone just randomly started doing this. Go to voice talk in apps tray, then hit menu button, then scroll down to voice talk settings, then disable auto speaker on answer.
This just worked for us. Just in case anyone else comes looking for the answer.

Yes. I have done it with Skype, Fring and the google one I think is Gtalk.
I have done it with skype and gtalk as well. On my wifes galaxy sl it has an option for video call when she makes a normal phone call. Does this phone have that type of option?

What I do have is Contacts from Skype that I have merged with my Google Contacts allow me to make a skype video call. It has the option "Video call with Skype"
I went to Contacts ---> Groups --> and choose my Skype user name and can see all my Skype contacts and those contacts have the "Video call with Skype" option.
Worked just fine calling my friend's Xperia Play VZW over Talk. Front camera was better than his
is there any way to have video calls via dialer? i've got free video calls, not data so I don't want to use skype or talk
Ask you're survive provider what app they support in free video calls, dialer has no ability to make video calls.

Seconding dudejb here -- this is done through some app provided by that carrier, which may only be available on phones sold by that provider. Even if they won't willingly provide you with the app, hope is not completely lost -- you can dump the APK from a friend's Android phone, or get creative with an OtG cable on a demo unit at one of their stores. No guarantees that'll work though -- it may depend on some weird framework or hardware inside their phones.
any changes?
Hi, I've tried to search forum in this topic without success, so I need a clear answer for this question: is there any ROM supporting native video calls at the moment for i927?
And the second question (no need for very clear answer ) - anybody found any way to make native video call with i927? I thought this device is part of Galaxy S II series of phones which were declared to support such calls, but I'm quite confused now and afraid of being mislead...

[Q] auto call recorders

has anyone found a /working/ call recorder that records both sides?
my old favourite wont work I dont know if its because I am on the perseus kernal etc or its a samsung/hw thing
I use the app "Record my call" and if you use the handset, then it will record both sides of the call. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a solution for recording both sides while using a bluetooth headset.

Thanks I'll give that a try...
Install Xposed framework. Then install the call recording mod by Pulser. It's the easiest way to have an efficient call recorder imo.

Xposed call recording isn't automatic.

Automatic? What's that? Recording starts automatically? Hell no!

Even calls aren't automatic. You still have to press at least one button somewhere. Where was automatic a requirement by OP?

Yes. Auto recording is very handy if you handle a lot of incoming calls and aren't prepared to remember to press the record button.

Okay, let's take this one step further.
Calls must be recorded automatically, then uploaded to the cloud automatically (or on a schedule).
I use Tasker to record my calls to seperate folders. One for incoming, one for outgoing.
I like the "backup to gmail" app that sends my SMSs, MMSs and Call Logs to Gmail automatically. Pity I can't get my calls uploaded the same way. Ideas?
I have Dropbox and FolderSync installed, but I haven't played enough to see if this is an easy solution.
Then you guys must be involved in a profession which requires auto call recording! I for myself would never install anything which will record calls automatically.

I use foldersync to backup my recordings once a night to both Sugarsync and Dropbox. You could set foldersync up to upload instantly, but I hesitate to use that feature or of feat that it will impact my battery life.

No. Have you never dealt with a supplier that tells you one thing before you have paid, and then another thing after you have paid? Lucky you....
I am using my recordings more and more these days. It's like owning a cell phone - you don't know how you coped before you had it!

Call recording has been an amazing tool for me in many areas:
- I can record calls with my nurse/doctor and have all the important details regarding mess or schedules handy. I'm part of a drug trial and not only does this help with confirming details, but since the drugs have had a negative effect on my concentration and focus, it helps me catch mistakes that I have may have made in the call or while taking notes.
- it's a great tool when on tech support calls. ESPECIALLY when companies like Asus try to **** you around.
- helps to avoid billing problems later down the road when your utility/cell phone/cable provider gives you a hard time about a previous call or when they "don't have a record" of a prior call to them about a credit that might have been due.
- I take customer orders over the phone and its easier to record and note after the call than while the customer is ringing off product codes. LOL
- I've had a few calls which would have been difficult to jot notes from while speaking, so call recording is always handy.
Bonus... If you're ever in a he-said-she-said moment, recalling the recorded conversation can make all the difference in the world in ending the debate
Whoa, lots of points, nice. Some of them I used to face too, like the he said she said thingy. Asus? Lol, even in Canada they are creating problems? Jeez! I'm glad that I'm ditching them gradually...

[Q] Call recording on The People's ROM

I downloaded MOAR_phone_rec_TEST.zip from the peoples rom thread and installed it. I have auto recording turned on for both incoming and outgoing calls but it only records incoming calls. Has anyone else gotten this to work? BTW I'm running the latest version of The People's ROM.

I also flashed the phone record mod. I PM'd Rompnit about the outgoing calls not automatically recording with the setting checked. For now, you'll have to manually press the record button on the keypad for outgoing calls to record.

Does anyone know of a Windows program that will play the .amr files without conversion when saved on a PC? I've found plenty of programs to convert the .amr to .mp3, but none to play the .amr directly. Thanks...

I've tried that one. When you click play, it starts to decode the .amr and then fails.
Edit: I have no idea why I never tried VLC player before. I just discovered that that works perfectly.
