After making changes to systemui.apk and pushing it to my phone, dspmanager no longer works with HTC music player. Is there any way to fix this? I cannot listen to music without dspmanager. I am currently using community rom rc5 but also had the same issue on kingdom rewind. I have tried doing a nandroid restore to where I had made no changes to the files on the phone but it will only work until I reboot.
Edit: I have tried several other music players and the result is the same. Also, the volume now needs to be higher than normal without dsp
Anyone know anything about this?
What changes did you make to SystemUI? Did you try putting the original SystemUI that came originally with your ROM to see if DSP works normally?

I tried both putting the original SystemUI back and a nandroid restore but neither worked. The restore only works until the phone is rebooted, then the problem shows up again.

I've been using CM7 since the stable build was released for the G2 and today my Camera App stopped working and just force closes anytime I try to start or when any other application tries to access it.
I thought maybe this was just a bug, so I backed up, cleared data,cache,dalvik cache,fixed permissions and installed a fresh CM7 and the camera app still didn't work. Then I reverted all the way back to my stock 2.2 and for some reason that's not working either. I thought maybe it was a Kernel problem, so I flashed some fresh ones and some stock ones and still no dice.
What am I missing?! I JUST used the camera earlier today and it was fine, then it just stopped working for some reason. I can still access the Gallery, just not the Camera.
Any suggestions would be awesome!

I would think that installing a fresh CM7 would fix it, but since camera is a system app there is a chance that whatever the problem was, it may not have been remedied by the methods you've tried.
did you do a full wipe when you went back to froyo? if not, that would explain why the camera still wasn't working (among other things I imagine)
I've attached the camera.apk from CM7.0.0 stable. try pushing it to /system/app and see if that fixes.
Try switching to an freshly formatted SD. I had the same problem after installing an app called Daily Driver that I used for a time lapse video. I think it corrupted some files on the SD card. I try restoring to a previously good nandroid and it still wouldn't work. Switched out my SD and it works fine now. Hope that helps.
I have been having an issue with assigning ringtones for my epic. I am running the EF02 leak with the EF10 modem. I have rebooted a few time.. but when trying to assign it vibarates twice pause and vibs again (basic FC vibs) and locks up and sometimes reboots.. I did uninstall the DRM content apps and was giving me like 21 hours of battery life.. I had a maybe 50 to 60 text and some GPS use.. few FB uploads etc.. anyways.. as of right now this is the only problem I am having.. I backed up the files(DRM related) before removing with titainum back up.. readded the DRM app and still getting the same error. The other files seem to be a .tar file(i am thinking that you would need odin for this.. not sure). This is with custom ringtones and system ringtones..hope you can help.. thanks!!
well it is a leak and leaks usually imply some instability!!
That's not typical with EF02. Typically random FCs are caused by restoring incompatible data from an older release or restoring an apk that needs to be installed from scratch. I've read about similar problems from people who have restored data with Titianium Backup, and a few of the apks I restored using MyBackup Root had to be deleted and installed from scratch to get things working right.
I'm using EF02 with custom ringtones in the sdcard/media/ringtones and sdcard/media/notifications directories without a problem. They are both mp3 and wav files.
It's also possible that if you restored an app that has a hook into ringtones that could be the problem. Try deleting apps that you restored and installing them from scratch instead.

I think it's an app TBH, because all was fine with the music player until i used titanium to restore all my backed up apps
I've been hearing that when restoring apps with titanium that if you restore user data also, things can go bad. So I personally just always restore app only.
But maybe that's got noting to do with it in your case.
Could be titanium backup, i've tried deleting data files related to equalizers and replaced the music.apk with the one found in the latest firmwares .ftf, no joy. Someone's gotta know what's going on.
I think i figured it out, it might help someone in the future, after 4 .ftf flashes and countless factory resets it was either volume+ or adfree's backup in titanium backup.
I finally restored apps + data on games and stuff that didn't require root access, then i re-downloaded from the market the root apps that i had one by one restarted my phone after each install and checked equalizer settings until i got to adfree and volume +, i don't really need any of them now I've found alternatives but i'm pretty sure one of them is to blame when you restore them with data.
Hello, i've just noticed my in call keyboard is broken, maybe someone know a fix for this one. I'm attaching a photo, cause i couldn't make a screenshoot. As you can see, in call keyboard keys are messed up.
I'm using stock 4.0.4, 6.1.A.2.45, only changed kernel (but that issue did not show after flashing new kernel) and removed some stock apps (i think the issue i'm writing about did not show after removing apps either). i'm using stock dialer and dialer keyboard works fine.
Any ideas ?

LOL! This problem occurs usually when you edit the framework...... I installed a different framework on 45 to get notification buttons and my keyboard turned like yours! I changed back to the original framework and the problem gone!
Thanks for all replys, i've checked the thread from Hackberrybold reply, and it's interesting, cause fix in that thread is just SemcPhone.apk app packed in zip. I did try to fix my problem with original SemcPhone.apk, but when i copied just that .apk from my backup my phone app stopped working at all And after restart whole gsm communication stopped working So i had to do a restore from backup. Now everything is ok. If that happens again i will try to fix with that zip.

Hey gus,
today my Camera suddenly stopped working properly. When i try to use dual mode or start taking a video, the app suddenly crashes.
I already tried a factory reset. After that I could not even find the app installed, it disappeared. When I reinstalled it (backuped the apk before reset) I got the same issue: dual mode and videos not working. The phone was rooted and I used the camera mod that sets the 1080p framerate to to 60 fps, but the camera worked properly until today. In addition to that the media profiles xml should be original again since I did a factory reset, so this should not be the problem.
Anyone pls help me.
Maybe someone can upload his/her camera files so I can try installing another apk? Its possible I got a damaged apk or so..
When you change something in protected area i.e. system you change it for good. No matter how many factory resets you do it would stay the same. Applying camera mod involved modifying mediaprofile.xml that is in system/etc folder. Only way to fix it would be to grab the stock mediaprofile.xml and put it back in the system/etc folder.

I guess I'm not the only one having issue with the camera mods. I changed framerate to 1080p60, but got worse results and the phone got stuck on the boot screen. Had to use the flashtool to go back to stock. If your phone boots, restore the xml as previously mentioned. Im curious, which version of the G3 do you have?

Thanks man, now I just need to reinstall it as a system app, can you explain what i have to do? I put it in the priv-apps folder and etc folder, rebooted, but nothing happened
Just grab the mediaprofile.xml and place it inside /system/etc directory with the help of any file explorer that gives you access to system folder (requires root) like root explorer or es explorer. Make sure stock file replaces the modified file. Reboot and that should take care of the issue if it was only caused by the mod.

I already did this with es explorer, set the permissions to rw r r and rebooted, all files are in the right folders.
Still no camera app
Maybe it doesnt work because we got different phone versions?
I checked the model number and it says D-855
Edit:I dont know why, but suddenly the app appeared in my drawer. Problem solved, thanks alot for your help [emoji106]
