[CDMA] MIUI Beta 2.0 Update 9-27 avaliable for download - Galaxy Tab Android Development

Update 9-27
Sorry, lost internet at home, so the upload failed last night, didnt know until this morning, all is good, its up and available.
Update 9-26
So.
A build of MIUI for the CDMA crowd that has working wifi, I cant test the 3G cause I dont have my 3G tab right now. Played around with it for a few, seems pretty stable, its different, especially since I have been running froyo on my tabs.
So, how did I do it? its complicated.
Thanks go to Msmission, and JT1134
Am I going to continue? who knows, but I am going to play with it more for the next few days.
Oh, i guess this means if I have MIUI that I must have a working build of CM7, well I do now.
So, download link below, images up next.

8:40pm CST, its still uploading, has 60 min left, I am tired, so I trust you will either wait an extra hour to download, or try again, file size is 94.1mb on my comp.
How to install.
Pay attention, I am not going to answer tech questions on how to install, if you dont read.
This....is a flashable zip, so there, it should work.
if you dont have a CWM recovery, use the link below to flash one via Heimdall.
USE THIS KERNEL ONLY TO CONVERT TO EXT4
Put zip on SD card, flash, then THEN WIPE EVERYTHING. Dalvik included

If you like my work, feel free to donate.
More to come

all gone, bye bye.

Updated, added links, install instructions, etc.
Gotta get to work on this now....

Doing it now, will report back

Jim,
Are you going to start posting your MIUI and CM7 Rom's in the Rom Manager?
I need 3G and wifi, therefore I'm holding off until it's working...

I believe the app funds the effort(s)... That, and rom manager premium...

Its also on github, which is exactly where I got it, even though I myself purchased the app, I don't have time to flash to froyo, root, reboot, then install the app just for recovery.
Argument aside, its not theft, or any form of claiming it is my work.
As it is, this miui build came from mssmisons rom he just released, only I added my bootimg, and other cdma stiff to see if it would act the same as my port I have been working on for past 2 weeks.
I think you will find I give proper credit, donate funds donated to me to devs that help me, and I buy apps.
That said, I am goingnri go back to work to enable 3g on this build.

I definitely think you give credit where credit is due. I meant no disrespect to you. I just wanted others to know that the app was available which makes the conversion to ext4 simple.
To tell you the truth, I'm not comfortable with the whole heimdall / odin process. I can't wait to get back to flashing Roms through the Rom Manager.

OK, quick update....
Have English.
Should have 3g
Have even more stability, no reboots.
Don't have wifi yet.
Have rotation fixed
Have a stable kernel and recovery
Used msmison's GSM build as a base and worked my cdma build into that. No idea why his build did a full boot on the same kernel that didn't give a full boot, I am baffled on that.
Tested against gb/cm7 hybrid kernel I use for in house, also come to think of it, I packaged it with the first sprint gb release I did, I think.
Right now, stable is the big word. Tomorrow, wifi, install on my daily driver for 3g, and release a beta build that I am gonna go out and say is currently 80% of a daily use build.
Spacemoose, mssmison have helped so much, technomancer for his chats, dirtydroidx for his help to.
Cm7 is weekend release bound to

I used to have that on my old moment that didn't have any led notification at all.. it was nice, but we have a led, so this is just extra kernel work.. As nice as it is.. i wouldn't expect this to be high on any priority list..

We have a led?! How come it doesn't work then?

led behind the buttons at the bottom.

Im willing to give this a run on my Sprint tab, but i need to have a way to get back to rfs in order to get back to a working ROM as i will be testing on my daily tab(some folks only have one )

holy crap!
MIUI for SGT? Nice! But let me guess. No future release for the EURO SGT?

[ROM/MOD MIUIAndroid][09/12/11] MIUI_1.12.09_OsiMood - Light gets Lighter (v1.0)

What is MIUI:
Please, before you install this ROM, read, read and read again.
If you have a question, feel free to ask but make sure the answer is not in the thread already.
Anyways, Enjoy, feel free to comment and don't forget the spirit here:
This rom is very close to the Original MIUI, but optimized and made lighter (by removing all unnesccessry apk, optimizing eack single apk too) as I hate bloatware. I just include a better kernel: Tiamat, allowing low frequencies and under-volt the CPU. No additional "tweaks" that could potentially make the rom unstable THEMES: miuithemes.com

What radio to use with this ROM?
I personally use the one in my signature
and then use the "Library to Radio Firmware Automatcher" provided by rmk40 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021463
When I press the "reboot" button from the notification bar, I don't see the 4 way reboot option

Try pressing the PHYSICAL power button for a few seconds

Hey condemned, I know that with CM10 the YouTube issue could be fixed by going under developer options and checking "disable HW overlay" but it just doesn't stick on reboots. I hope you can find this useful. Also, thank you for the freakin' awesome ROMs. I gotta get my hands on this one when I get home.

Initial thoughts.
-Wifi works!
-Camera and flash works.
-Play Store worked for me one time. I was able to download and install an app one time but after that my play store stopped working. It gets stuck in the process of downloading and nothing happens. My automatic updates don't do anything now. I just get the flashing download arrow.
-I still have the text smudges in the notification bar. Not a big issue. I did install the new drivers.
-SMS doesn't work
-YouTube works when "Disable HW overlays" is checked.
Very nice initial effort. I know this is still uber beta. I really need my SMS to work. That's probably the most used function on my phone.
Can't get the download to finish. Goo seems to fizzle out on me. Will try later...can't wait though!

[ROM] MROM-Vivow [CM7] build:20130401

Introducing MROM-Vivow. Custom ROM for the HTCI2
This is my attempt to build a stable, complete, and fully functional custom ROM for the HTC Incredible 2 completely built from source code; HTCI2-MROM is built on top of Cyanogen ROM latest source code. I recompiled all components to guarantee maximum efficiency and performance. Along the way, I realized that I needed things to work different for the HTCI2, so I also made some changes. If you like my work, consider a donation to my cause.
HTCI2-MROM is entirely build from source. You will see the difference when you run it. Just to list a few features:
Optimum battery life, better than any other ROM I have tested

Too bad its not cm9 D:
Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight.

I always end up going back to CM7, just can't beat the stability and smoothness of good ol' GB.
Woah! This rom is way cool! At first I wasn't too sure about the colored interface, judging from the screenshots, but in-use it actually feels somewhat nice on the eyes.
Definitely has a different feel to it compared to the default CM7, and probably one of the better modded CM7 that I have seen.

Have not tested this, but you could try to remove the holo launcher system app, it should then revert to stock. Make a backup first, you might end up without a launcher.
Or you could simply add the launcher of your choice as an app...
I tried that..... no go

Try downloading a copy of adw launcher and installing it. That should work (in theory).

No, adw launcher is the stock for CM7. The stock launcher for stock GB is the stock GB launcher. Basically this, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ebproductions.android.launcher
This is basically a Moto/ICS themed/tweaked CM7. Seems very stable so far. It's a nice remix for those of us note ready to use CM9/10 as a daily driver.
Thanks
Cool. Im looking for something that is stable. Looks pretty promising.
:good::good::good:
Update: I must say this rom is really smooth. Nice one man. Keep up the awesome work. This my new daily now. Kind of fed up with ICS considering we don't have kernel sources.

I appreciate it, and yes I am here to support this ROM... looking for more people to run it, I am not getting good responses, it looks like users want un unstable ICS vs. a stable ROM that does not reboot in the middle of a phone call...

[ROM] Ubuntu Developer Preview (Toro port)

Props goes to eng.stk for how to unofficially flash the GSM images. I have modified his quote to include this devices links, and Im' sorry for not asking to quote him. The only credit I take is for modifying one line to make it flash to our devices. The rest goes to the UbuntuOS team and eng.stk

For people wondering about install (tried with TWRP):
1. Nandroid backup
2. Factory Reset
3. Grab toro_ubuntu.zip and quantal-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip
4. Flash toro_ubuntu.zip
5. Flash quantal-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip (this one will take a while, grab some coffee :laugh
6. Reboot (screen will go black but after a few seconds Ubuntu is up)
7. Profit :highfive:
This install didn't wiped my sdcard. I just restored my TWRP backup after a short Ubuntu testdrive.
If you are paranoid, just copy your stuff from SDCARD to your PC before flashing.

Quote modified to include CORRECT links for our build. I left the rest in tact.
EDIT: Exparimental (untested) build that may enable calls and data. Same process as converting android from GSM to LTE, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. Any takers? (replaces the toro zip above)
http://ompldr.org/vaGptZw/toro_ubuntu_data_try2.zip
EDIT: Data isn't even supported on the GSM, so unlikely to have any data, but calls should work.
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/ReleaseNotes
EDIT2: Test appears broken, but I'll leave it here for others to look into on why it doesn't work. It should have been merged in correctly, not sure why it's not working.
The only thing I did was modify the line so that the zip would be willing to flash to the toro. It does not have CMDA/LTE connection, but it does flash and work on WIFI just fine. With it's limited uses ATM, I believe that getting working radios would be useless. Try it and see what I mean. Do not wipe system, or it will not boot.

Questions?
Very nice, thanks for sharing. Will report back.
Edit: It works..
Are these files modified for toro? The only reason I ask is the OP isn't coming from you...
Also, I assume this does not replace the current recovery. Is this correct?

Yes, I modified the quote. I should have made that more clear. Sorry. *fixes*
I may try this just to play around with for an hour or so. Not until I get home though.
Waiting......
I'm downloading now. Will flash ASAP! I will also report back.
I don't think radios would be useless. As limited as the OS is right now, it still would be cool to try and take advantage of the calling and texting features.
Just my opinion.
Giving it a whirl now... Nothing better to do while I am at work
I installed ubuntu on my laptop last week with a new hard drive, I love it and can't wait to put on the GNEX

Same here, too bad that the download speeds for the files is sorta low.
Everything seems to be working just fine, but the wifi here at work is a hidden SSID, and I cannont yet figure out how to add it. As others ahve stated everything else seems to be prepopulate data that you cant do anything with.
I guess from here we wait to see how things unfold.
I really like this as a first try, however it really needs a ton of work done to be viable

I also have the prepopulated data. I managed to clear the notifications by pulling down the messaging tab and scrolling to the clear all button, but there doesn't seem to be a way to get rid of all of it yet.
Theres a lot of bugs here...... To be expected of course.
It would appear that holding down the power button for a few seconds simply shuts it off, as opposed to giving you a menu of power options.
Well remember it is called the Ubuntu Touch-"Preview"........
Added an exparimental zip. It SHOULD enable all radios fully. I haven't tested yet, but the same trick worked to bring 4.2.2 to our phone with radios, so I don't see why that won't work. Ubuntu is pretty andrloid compatible.
EDIT: No data as it won't have data on the GSM version. That's not because I messed up, it's because Ubuntu doesn't support it yet.

[Port][Devs]Paranoid Android[Need testers]4/16

Paranoid Android
This is based of EOS 4.0. The team works hard and deserves lots of thanks. Thanks to the paranoid android team for their creation of this spectacular ROM. This is a port from the nexus 4. It needs to be tested. Not everything may work but it is a start.

I have one that flashed and gets stuck on the boot animation for paranoid android. Logcats? The link for the new v8:
http://androidnexus.us/downloaders/jacob/Downloads/AOSPA v8.zip
How to install:
factory reset;Wipe System;wipe dalvik;wipe cache,
If coming from ICS flash radios. link to those: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2176186
Oh you sweet, lovely, amazingly glorious bastard.
Thank you fully!
I can't download now (only 3g in my parts) but when I get home I will!
I have wanted AOSPA for ages. It's a personal story for why I want it so much, and it's now almost an inside joke with myself....just over the time I constantly do stuff for my friends tablets and phones, ALL of them get AOSPA except the devices I actually own.
and here it is!
I'll let you know how it goes and/or any issues I have with it.
I assume camera doesn't work since it's CM based so I won't mention that.
Well, thank you sir! Can't wait to try it out.
It is just a port and I haven't tested it yet but thanks for your support. Let me know how everything how's.

3g isnt' so bad as it turns out. The download should be done in a few minuets then I will flash.
Do I need to flash gapps?
What's with that? I knew I never used to, then around ICS I had to flash gapps with all my ROMs. Lately though, some roms say to flash it, and I do, but others don't include that instruction, so I flashed, and it still had google service and play store (forgot which ROM that was on). So, is flashing gapps always necessary for flashing new ROMs? I feel like I missed something with the process and what google wanted to happen.

Not sure about this error but for the gapps question all aosp roms are required to not include gapps as per google's source. so with PA yes you will have to flash gapps. on stock roms you dont. simple as that. its been this way since the beginning as far as i know. some people have included gapps in aosp roms. but if they did they shouldn't have because devs arent supposed to do this
im not flashing till tomorrow ill report if it works for me

OH!
Okay, that's what I thought, but now that I think about it, I think the ROM I had gotten was a modified stock. I forgot that stock ROMs are allowed to include it, even if modified. For some reason to me stock modified I thought it had to include gapps separately.
Good to know!
Hopefully someone else tries to flash and posts results. If someone else gets it working, I'll try the download from wifi and go again.
Well, just downloaded, flashed, and booted CM10 from my phone with no issues.....I'll go ahead and leave it for now until someone else can post results.

sounds like the updater script
Very excited about this! I have to wait a bit to flash because my phone needs to have all the basic functionalities for work so I can't test and such, otherwise I would.
Nevertheless I will be watching this thread.

I have heard that before. If it is the updater script, what did I do wrong? I followed this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2232773&page=2
I also signed the zip.

You don't need to sign the zip for the LG Optimus G. Also, I've been working on Paranoid but have been doing it from source.
