[Q] Want to upgrade indian htc touch diamond, need help - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi guys, i just got diamond from my cousin, i never used htc before, now i want to upgrade the software of the htc, i seen threads abt radios and roms, & i didnt understand what are those.
can anyone tell me what is the complete procedure to upgrade the software?
and it is locked to airtel, if possible how to unlock also
thanks
satish

Hi, Diamond is an older device, so you don't have no much problems to modify it. I had one many years ago, and I remember that I had no problems to do it.
But you need to know that you can't upgrade to WM7.

Need Help: Unlock Rogers Touch

Hi everybody,
I need help. My friend is using Rogers (Touch Enhanced). He wants to have the same ROM on my Elfin after seeing my Elfin with Onyx 2.1.
I cannot unlock the CID on the Rogers before flashing. If anyone knows the way, please let me know, with many thanks.

CDMA Hards SPL needed for WM 6.5 update??

I'm curious
From what I've read only people with Hard SPL unlocked TP2s can upgrade to the official WM 6.5.
What will happen for CDMA users who cannot yet unlock their TP2's?
Will HTC provide an update tool which will work regardless or will we still be waiting for the Hard SPL unlocker in order to update.
I'm thinking the ROM update will include a tool as it wouldn't make sense to offer a ROM update without a way to actually update.
Am I wrong?

The only way of doing it is using the GoldCard way...
wow. no only cooked roms need to have your phone to be unlocked. stock roms from the carriers do not need for your phone to be unlocked.

Which is what I thought but I read a few places that T-Mobile users had to have theirs unlocked to update it to one on HTC's website.. ok well nevermind then!
The T-Mobile TP2 and the Unbranded TP2 are different devices. The official ROM on HTC's website is intended for Unbranded devices. T-Mobile users (such as myself) have to wait for T-Mobile to release a ROM for their own devices

Can I still be able to get my TP2 unlocked after I up ROM to WinMo 6.5?

Hi everyone,
I just got my HTC Touch Pro 2 from US Tmobile and I want to upgrade it to Window Mobile 6.5. I just wonder if I still be able to ask T-mobile Custumer Service to get unlock code later because I've planned to travel to Asia during summer. I read that we need to be in service at least 3 months to be able to get phone unlocked so I can't unlock it know. Does anybody know if upgrading ROM (official rom from T-Mo, cooked room or ship rom from HTC) effects unlocking procedure?
Thank you
I have a Tmobile TouchPro 2, had Tmobile official ROM 6.1 when I requested the sim unlock code, and used it. Upgraded to the new Tmobile 6.5 ROM and the phone is still sim unlocked. Doesn't hurt to ask them for the unlock code now. From what I gather, quite a few people, myself included, get the unlock code rather easily from Tmobile just by asking. Provide your IMEI number and they'll get back to you within 10 days I think.
i have buyed a US touch pro2 with unlock code to get all operators...
i have installed Hardspl and then a cocked Room , it seems to works perfect
The delay before unlocking is related to "loyalty" or something similar like that, nothing techinical. So, putting a T-Mo-supplied upgrade on your phone should have no effect at all on when you can get it SIM-unlocked.

SIM Unlocking on HTC Tatto

Hi all
I'm new, and i'm glad to be a member of this great forum!
I've lot of confusion about the sim unlocking on my HTC Tattoo branded Orange.fr to my Wind SIM (italian)
After a series of research on google, i've understand that i've two options:
- The first one is buy a sim unlocker in a shop like Dealextreme
- The second one is root the Tattoo and install a ROM that doesn't have sim locking
But... i've some questions:
1. Have I well understand what i've to do?
2. It's better to have some crapy chinese unlocking stuff or doing some tricky hacking software procedure?
3. Wich ROM do u suggest me?
3.1 Is true that if i flash other roms i lose the radio and the camera?
3.2 Is it better use a rom based on android 1.6 or android 2.x? Why?
Thanks in advance for your help
matteios
Nobody can help me?
Tnx
Hi there
The debranded firmware on the Tattoo doesn't solve the unlocking issue.
We have one in store that is still waiting for a solution. To root/debrand is the same as the Hero, but the sim unlock code still doesn't get accepted after flashing. That's as far as i've got with it!
Unless something has occurred recently that i've missed that's all i can help with for now!
SU
Now i've unlocked it by using the IMEI code, but even now can't i install a costum ROM on my HTC Tattoo?
