i AM SUPER NOOB. DO NOT USE ANY TERM WITHOUT EXPLAINING PLEASE.
i have the rogers play with 2.3.3. i did root it before using that app that would root your phon with just installing it. now after i updated to 2.3.3. that didnt work.
im wondering if now there is a new version of it?! if not please tell me what is the easiest wy to root the phone. and if u are going to help me please speak noob language. dont just say stuff cuz u assume i know it. im new to all this. never flashed any phone or anything like that. lol

You need to be saved from yourself so im not answering you question until you read until your eyes bleed.
Some proper English would help. If you don't know what your doing, and need step by step instructions, you shouldn't be rooting your Play anyway.

Don't create another thread for an existing issue . This is get you nowhere. Wait for the developers to comeback.
I guess for now its the only thing that could be done out of simplicity,
when I sent my phone in I flashed back to the Rogers 2.3.3 / .145 firmware. I get my phone back on OCT 17th, so I'll let you guys know what's up by then

exactlyy that is the main reason im not giving my cell to the warranty service they just take to much time to resolve it :S.....
mine too i can't fit it im lucky i have warranty im waiting for 1 week for my ARC..

Hi.
I thought there is no solvation of the problem until now. Only thing is to use an old firmware with a patch, which makes the battery show only 1 percent all the time and the phone stays on without charging.
Or is there something i am missing?

According to all the threads I've read sending the phone to SE for repairs is the only viable solution, at least if you're still on warranty. That includes the thread linked to in this thread.

I've read the threads both here and in the Neo forum, and have found no good solution. What search parameters should I use to find this secret thread with all the answers?
I put my Arc to SE as this happened to me and i am getting a straight replacement as my handset is less than 28 days old, though when speaking to SE on the phone they said they are aware of the problem and working towards a solution aswell, and i told him of all the users on xda with same problem and they know about it and acknowledged the work of the developers on here trying to solve it also
Seems like SE is watching the forum to some degree, nice to know that they not only support devs but watch what were all upto

In case I really am a dumbass and you're NOT talking about the thread pecholino linked to further upthread, could you please link to it? I'm not trying to be difficult, but the temporary fix is not better than having the phone repaired if you're on warranty. If there is another fix I seriously can't find it, and may die of rattlesnake poisoning.
The reason that i ask this question is that i bought my mother a droid incredible 2 as she needed a solid phone to use for her business and something for her emails, easy web access, amongst many other things business oriented that her LG flip phone couldnt do. The issue is i dont live anwhere near her so i cant do the only root methof that we currently have, bc im not there, and it would be overly dificult to remote in and explain to her and all that. My question is, is there going to be something as easy as unrevoked or revolutionary that will come out for this update? THat i can explain over the phone, not a problem. Dont flame me for asking, if you look at my stats ive been here for some time and dont need someone telling me to wait if im a noob, im not, i just dont have easy access to the phone. also, is there any easy way to to tether? without root? like changing something in the service menu? that is a fool proof tested way to work? sorry for all the questions, ive stopped coming here for a while bc f some dooche in the fascinate forums, that ended up in the thunderbolt forums, that then ended up in the bionic forums and i just got tired of him. not using the OTA you cant, but if you search there is a flashable version of 2.3.4 i believe

Um...... 2 things.
1. you could ask nicely "if" work is being done to gain root to these two firmwares
2. its quite possible that devs are working on it but have yet to find a way to gain root access........
And the moral of this write up.......... politeness goes a long way..... asking like an a$$hole gets the opportunity doors slammed in your face.... seriously if you are not happy about "WHY THE HELL HAS NO ONE GOT OFF THEIR LAZY A***'S AND TRIED TO FIND A METHOD, then how about YOU find out how to do these things so YOU can do it your self.

The real answhere is: NO ONE CARES A FU*K ABOUT LOCKED BOOTLOADER. Just unlock. Than you flash Doomkernel and you have root. Always on newest Firmware.
Locked Bootloader sucks in many ways.

There's also a roundabout method of rooting the .62 firmware(.69 is german only according to xperia blog) which if you cared to research would've found.

If your bootloader is unlocked and your flashing the recommended kernal etc then you shouldn't have a problem

that is the problem, the bootloader will not unlock. i did the step by step and came up with the same problem cwm (x-parts) is not working.
if you alredy know the problem why keep trying. it the bootloader do not unlock it do not unlock. nothing you can do about it. other then installing a rom that dose not require unlocked bootloader.
here's another problem, i can't seem to root it again after i did the update.
What phone you got? R800x or R800i?

from what i know it can be unlocked if i can get it rooted and cwm working on this current build.
I have an R800i so i don't really know how it works for the R800at. For the R800i, you type in the following in the dialer, " *#*#7378423#*#*". I know this doesn't really help you, but perhaps there is a similar step for the R800at that tells you whether or not your bootloader can be unlocked?

don't worry either this is the first time i own an android phone that is above build 1.5. so this is all new to me, i do have another phone that has 2.3.5 but i can't use it as a daily driver.

As long as you have root and are on zvb, you can download freegee from the market, the new version unlocks the bootloader and removes LG security and installs a custom recovery. Well worth the 1 $.
