[ODEX/DEODEXED][JVx] Daily Briefing Widget - Working on All Gingerbread ROMS - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

Hi guys!
Daily briefing on latest odexed JVR is corrupted. I want to share working apk for all gingerbread roms.
How to install:
1) If you're on odexed rom, just delete system/app/infoalarm.apk and infoalarm.odex
1) If you re on deodexed rom, just delete sytem/app/infoalarm.apk
2) Download the infoalarm.apk on attachment and copy it to system/app
It's done.
Maybe this can work on cm7 roms. I didn't try it. I think it works.
Note: You need root explorer or adb shell. You can use ES file explorer - free on market.
Please click thanks button.

Thank you!
Working perfectly on stock ODEX JVR.

I'm on a stock odexed JVR firmware and my phone doesn't have daily briefing, no Infoalarm.apk in /system/app/ .
I'll give this a try.

Already it's a widget. Just follow 1st post.

hi
I have a problem: I have upgraded this JW1 firmware via Kies (XEN), rooted with stock+ kernel and via root explorer I have installed infoalarm.apk in /system/app. deleting the ugly MMMsamsung, Bol and fileindex which are quite useless. I have checked the permissions and the owner in the infoalarm.apk but the software refuses to install, also when I restart the phone, anyone has any idea?

Will this work on ICS?

used to work in JVQ
... but since I flashed JVZ it refuses to install

[Request]DLNA (Allshare) app from Gingerbread ROM

Hi there.
So I installed Darky's ROM Resurrection 10.1 and the DLNA app is missing and the only one available on the forums is the one taken from Froyo rom which is not compatible with 2.3.3 (force closes, I've just tested). So if anyone could dump this app for me, I'll be really glad. It's called Dlna.apk and it's located in system/app folder. You can get there via Root Explorer.
Thank you in advance!
Take away.
Thanks, dude! It's working just fine
How can i install this .apk? Can i mount system to r/w and copy it with the root explorer to system/app?
It can't be so difficult. I use the MIUI Rom...it doesen't work with this?
Thank's guys for your help

SGS 2 apk on SGS I9000 with JVS ROM 2.3.5

Hello,
I have installed the JVS 2.3.5 ROM on my Galaxy S I9000, with CF-ROOT 4.1 and I'd like to have the SGS 2 email app.
I've extracted the email apk from the F1 Galaxy S II V7 (email.apk and emailWidget.apk) and I copied it in system / app /
But it doesn't work. Do you have any solutions ?
Thanks to all
try this, worked for me.
Thanks.
But do I have to put the META-INF folder somewhere on my phone ?

No (ten chars)
I copied the email.apk and emailWidget.apk in System/app , but it doesn't work.
May it due to the odex email file ?

I'm running Lukiqq's Supersonic JVS which is deodexed.
Why don't you just run the zip file through CWM, instead of pulling the apk's out ?
Simple and it works.
It should work if you're on stock (samfirmware or similar) JVS. It shouldn't work on CM7 (or similar) because it needs the touchwiz framework.
Logcat should tell you why it isn't running.
It's now working on JVS 2.3.5 Stock ROM deodexed with TW 4.5.
Thanks for your help !

[APP]GenieWidget.apk from the Galaxy Nexus

Hello Everyone!
As you may or may not know, the Galaxy S3 doesn't have the News & Weather widget in-built like it did on the SGS2 so lets change that shall we?
Read the instructions below and you should have the news & weather widget back up and running on this awesome device!
What You Need:
Rooted Device
Root Explorer (Or ES File Explorer)
Room on your SD Card
Instructions:
-Download the GenieWidget.apk from the attachments below
-Put GenieWidget.apk onto your internal SD Card (Or external, doesn't really matter)
-Open Root Explorer and navigate to where you put GenieWidget
-Highlight it and select copy
-Navigate to /system/app/
-Paste
-Reboot
-It will be there in the widgets!
Screenshot to prove it works:

I'd appreciate it if you clicked the thanks button

Anyone notice that the weather detail view crashes when "force GPU rendering" is turned on in developer settings?
@OP: Thanks a lot for this useful app, Iv'e been missing during my review of the SGS3 on my portal.
Is there any chance you can port it over to non-root user? And if not, please specify why that would not be possible (need it for my article).
Thank you very much in advance and for your contribution to the Android society and other users as myself
thanks a lot it's look great

It's not in the OP but did you remember to fix permissions to rw-r-r? At least I thought you had to do this for any app you put into the /system/app folder. I always do and this works fine on my EVO LTE.
I can confirm this works on my Rezound.
here is a transparent version of it:

Could you provide a preview?
GenieWidget fully themed for me.
Download from here:
http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=400713
Hum, i've just download and installed the htcmania's version (last post from Armin van buuren) and it's working in a stock and un-rooted galaxy s3.
Thanks
Just installed this on my Skyrocket using the Dragon stripped rom - worked great!
Are there different versions (there was one that came with TeamDRH's ICS for the gtablet, but it seems to be an older version)?
I tried to replace the one that was already there, but it won't let me change the permissions.
Not works on omega 9.0. Put the file in system/app, fixed permission and rebooted, but no widget.....
Edit: found, it was called "news and meteo", i was searching for Geniewidget......:-D
Won't install on Razr. Why does it need root?

[Q] S4 or Note 3 Weatherwidget AGAIN

Well... I have searched through the forum to find answers and also asked in some threads but no answers. So this is my last try...
Here´s the deal:
I rooted my phone using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2618261
This means that I don´t have a custom recovery (I guess)... just plain root.
I use stock 4.3 odexed and now I want to use the weatherwidget from either S4 or perhaps a MOD of the same. For installation I know I have to push it with a rootexplorer of some kind. I know all about permissions so I´m not new to this at all.
However... It´s hard to find what I´m looking for... and if I have concerns the thread is dead or something.
Can anyone give me a hint on what Weatherwidget I can use? As I wrote... I have Stock 4.3 ODEXED.
Best regards

Go to the themes and apps section, there you can find what you are looking for in the first or the second page. Remember to delete the odex file though when changing the AccuWeather app
Thanx for the reply...
However... those few Weatherapps I found has too little info for me to dare pushing them. I found one that I really want to try but I don´t have the guts since I have a odexed rom... the thread doesn´t state for what ROM or anything.

Just take a backup of your current widget, then push the AccuWeather app from s4 or note3 whichever you like and delete the odex file, restart, Note 3 and s4 both came with 4.3 so I don't think there will be any problems.
Allright!
Looking into the ZIP I find that even the files in the "framework" and "lib" folders has ODEX-files in the stock folder... shall I remove them also or just the widget-ones?

Hmmm... ok. The problem is that the widgets name is Accuweatherphone2013... not the same name as the stock. Or is that not a problem?
