[Q] xloud for xperia play - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi i was wondering if someone could give me a link to xloud for my xperia play? because i'm in the us and we didn't get xloud
EDIT: ok i just found a file called libxloudwrapper.so in system\lib\soundfx directory of the uk firmware found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1221105 does anyone have any idea of how to utilize this file? and if yes please share.

X loud does nothing on my phone. I select it and it automatically de selects itself as soon as I leave the settings screen.
Maybe because I have an equalizer installed?

most likely because from what i understand xloud makes the sound louder and supposedly much higher quality. but we verizon users don't have it yet

Can't you update the firmware via PC companion? The firmware is released by SE and as far as I am aware not carrier specific.

actually no because when it wants me to go into "media transfer mode", i can't because "media transfer mode" doesn't exist. and according to sony people i have to go to menu/sony ericsson which does not exist on verizon xperia plays, plus my phone is cdma not gsm . so if you know how i can get the update i would be glad to know

Flash with the UK generic ROM as described in the development threads. Then update your firmware via PC companion?
Will that work for you?

No idea. Sorry.
I don't even have Verizon as an option here in the united kingdom. Never even heard of them until a few months ago. Already I hate them lol.

They're slightly expensive....but they have hands-down the best phone/3G reception of any other U.S. carrier.
And in the past two years they've HEAVILY beefed up their phone selection
But yeah because they're so big they're so cookie cutter and not on the edge of tech. it sucks. but seriously man their 3G is like being hooked up to a cable modem its freaking fast

Just download the files in the first post, use sin2img to convert the ftf to a .IMG file, open with winrar, extract the .sin files, use sin2img to convert them to .IMG files (these .IMG files are NOT operable with winrar only the .IMG made from the ftf file is) then drag and drop the .IMG files (note that system.sin basically contains almost all the data) onto yaffs.exe
Sent from my R800x running 2.3.3 with DooMLorD's v03 kernel

why do you use sin2img on ftf file? it hasn't got sin header.

well since i couldn't open it with winrar, and i read somewhere that i could convert it with sin2img, (and the fact that i don't know any other program that extracts it {unless flashtool does}) i just used sin2img (plus it was really easy )

Disable your equalizer.

AFAIK the update is not for a particular device but for a particular region, so if they have released for India then all devices here running the generic firmware that came with the phone would be getting the OTA notification...I wonder how did u get it? Did u flash another firmware after u purchased the arc or did u have the generic one that came installed on the phone?

Samfirmware-like website for SE phones?

Hi. I just got a Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro (and gave my Samsung Galaxy Ace to my wife, who's giving her Corby to her kid sister, etc. etc. Hand-me-down cell phones for everyone this Christmas, hehe!)
Is there a website similar to samfirmware.com for Sony Ericsson phones, where we can get the latest (and older) stock ROMs and flashing instructions? I can't find one through Googling.
Thanx.
if the bootloader's not unlocked then use SEUS(SE update service), but your phone should give you the option to install pc companion when you connect via usb, that also has an updater. If the bootloader's unlocked you'll need flashtool for firmware and fastboot for kernels, both on here somewhere.

Try to google wotan server. Just like Sam firmware, you can download and install official firmwares. It's free although you have to register and confirm by email...
You don't have to root or unlock the bootloader to use wotan. It's useful for debranding or update if ota stays out...

Sorry for the really late reply! Wotan's cool but it's a pay service. I'm just looking for a source where i can download the stock ROMs for free in case I screw something up when playing with custom ROMs, or if I decide to go back to Gingerbread, or whatever. Like SAM Firmware: free registration, free firmware downloads, etc.

Hello @joeywen0830,
Considering the Similarities of phone And Chipsets used in the Device,
The Possible Malfuntioncs Would be Response to Commands And Buttons.
If in worst case a Soft Brick.
But why take a chance? Same thing Could be done with Nokia Mobiles A Year Back.
Most Devices With Same Chipsets & Hardware Config Can Utilize Firmware from Different Phones Such As Version S60_V5 to S60_v6 etc.

I am working on making my own personal signature and editing my animation recently. And time being I really liked your concept of signature. So temporarily kept it since it was fast to make one. Would edit my own personal signature by next Wednesday. I'm sorry if you are offended

[Stock ROM][FTF] Xperia ZL (C6506) 10.3.1.A.0.244 Commercial & Journalists

As the title says, attached are the links to download the 10.3.1.A.0.244 Commercial/Journalists (1270-4005) firmware for the C6506. This contains the same baseband needed for the AT&T LTE, not sure about others. From my observations, the firmware is identical to the US Generic, nothing more...nothing less.
If you want to use it to flash other C6506 variants (e.g. Canada, Mexico, etc...), you should be able to flash everything except the baseband and that will maintain your original baseband. Alternatively, you can flash the original baseband afterwards if the included baseband doesn't support your carrier. Just make sure you have a stock FTF of your firmware before you decide to go this route.
I was also able to successfully root it via DoomLord's latest thread. It will require the kernel from the previous C6505 10.3.A.0.423 stock firmware (C6506 ONLY). Customization doesn't matter, as long as it's for the C6506 and Android 4.2.2 so the kernels match. If not, you'll get into a bootloop.
Upon successful initial boot, it will ask you to download Data/MMS settings. Just as well, it will default to WCDMA connection type, so just go under Settings>Networks(more)>Mobile Networks>Network Mode and select LTE.
It is always HIGHLY ADVISABLE that you keep a stock FTF of your firmware before flashing any other stock FTF that changes your customization, so you can easily go back to your original customization or repair the phone in case something goes wrong. You can learn more about this here.
Dev-Host
File 1: http://d-h.st/FSs
File 2: http://d-h.st/lsJ
You'll need 7-Zip or any extractor that can handle 7Z formats.
So whats different on this compared to other stock images? Just curious

Would this work for my locked canada C6506 ?
I noticed zero differences between this and US Generic. Software is dead on identical in every way. The only reason I flashed this is because Sony hasn't released the 10.3.1.A.0.244 for the C6505 US Generic...and I, and others I'm sure, are highly impatient to wait
It should work, just make sure you have an FTF of your current stock ROM in case you need to flash the baseband from it. Like I said, I don't know for certain whether the baseband from this ROM supports the LTE bands of your carrier or not. For me, AT&T was supported the same way the US Generic did.

Can this rom work on locked bootloader?
Absolutely. Flashing stock FTFs don't require an unlocked bootloader, only custom ROMS do. So you should be good to go.

Thanks! How is the rom so far? BTW I'm on T-Mobile USA
The update is awesome, the phone is pretty much flawless now.
BTW...Sony just released the update for the US Generic (just now)...so you might want to check for the the OTA or use PC Companion. In other words, you don't need to flash the ROM in this thread.

Urgent help for Xperia ZL (6505) 4.1
Guys - I just got a Xperia ZL (c6506) and unlocked it from Claro. The problem is that Claro has put so much of bloatware on the phone plus there is still for update on 4.1 JB.
Can I flash a stock ROM (4.3) on my current phone to get rid of the bloatware and run 4.3 ? I am still on baseband 10.1.1.A.1.253 and bootloader is locked.
I understand this is a pretty novice request but please help as I am getting confused with the multiple info being provided.
Can you give me A link of c6506 baseband or ftf that LTE supported ? Because it has dead link .

NUT stated that if it is an incremental update that he would make a flashable so look to something from him when it is available. Also, tft is a type of transistor, .ftf is a Flash Tool File, I keep seeing .tft used incorrectly.
