my tab was All Signed. I can flash JME to This firmware. No need to wipe. Odin 1.7 flashed only PDA and Manually reboot with Power+up.
it's smooth so far.

Is this for general Asia Pacific region or only for Thailand?
What's the decryption code for the enc file?
I am currently using DXJM4 version, but go through Kies, no updates available. Very weired.

it's asia version not only thailand , it think euro can use it as well because mine can use euro firmware version.
decrypt code, you can see above. try to look at it again.
anyway after I use Odin to flash,it can't update via kies anymore. normally kies firmware will roll up after fus in a few day or longer.

We need Roto to makes his version of this...im sure he will soon.

Are this Rom a multi, pls ?

IF YOUR BOOT IS STILL UNSIGNED , DO NOT FLASH SBL AND BOOT FROM THIS ROM.
It is very solid build. very smooth and browser seems to be smoother, scrolls better even when pages are still loading.
No extra apps.
Unlike KA build , kernel is signed so it can loaded if u have signed bootloader (jm*)
Very few locales, just english uk, english na and some asian.
You can repack it without sbl and boot files and flash on the top of the signed roms.

I'd like to. I have family events to attend to tomorrow, but if someone would post an unencoded firmware for download, Ill grab it and apply all the JME mods to it. In the meantime, feed back on KM2's quality is valuable. I'd hate to waste time on it just to go back to JME

Understandable....samfirmware release a bunch...all at the same time. JMF also release...so i would say it is the same as KM2 but for europe!
I have been trying to download it from samfirmware and decode it...but the site is not working.

Guys...I just downloaded JMF and unless you can understand Russian - You cannot get back.
The moment the phone boots, it's all Russian (or greek, or something!)
I was listed under the EURO rom, i DOwnloaded and Odin it..... but I cannot get the language to go English.
I tried to go to Locale to change it to English - but Have no idea where I am.
I tried to flash JME back, but the tab still boots up in Russian.
How can I get it back to JME?
Out of frustration I flashed the JME pit file, but not difference, still Russian.
I'm stuck
Someone have any idea?....LOL

Don't flash KM2 either.
KM2 only includes english (UK, US), Bahasa (Indonesia, Malaysia) Ting Viet and other asian locales
Font seems to be a bit thinner - looks good!

Man I feel like an IDioT.......DUH!
I got so excited and panicked when I noticed this STRANGE language on my TAB. I did Managed to fix the language in Local & Text, top option and scrolled down to English!
WHOALA - JMF works just time.
Still 2.2 though....
(did you guys see Sammy have announced the Tab 2!, dual processors,etc. I guess now we will NEVER see the "official 2.3 nor 3.0"!!!!)

Pretty sure they havent announced it yet, they said they were goin to show it off in MWC, probably wont be released by may-june, by then we will have cyanogen mod honey comb on this thing

I captured screen for you.
one more thing,I don't know where to upload 3xxMB decrypted firmware , it's too big and my upload is just only 512kbps.
and I think decrypt and unzip,it's less than 5 minutes for me. or someone can help for this.
anyway, you should wait for .apk unprotect signed from roto/chainfire and flash other firmware that isn't signed.

Thanks, I will sure to download and upgrade my current DXJM4.

I downloaded firmware and it's .ecn. I can't rename file type to .zip. What can I do with it?

Samfirmware.com has this version without encrypted code.
Anyway, how could we flash this firmware without boot.bin, Sbl.bin, zImage.
As long as Roto puts his hand on this firmware. I wont dare to flash to my GT.

Why is everyone depending on Rotohammer? Open it up with 7zip or similar, delete the offending stuff (sbl, boot, zImage) ...whatever and then flash it. Simple.

Upgrade f/w issue

Hey guys!
Couldn't find here but...
The situation is the following:
Have installed S8500XEKC1 with Multiloader and now if i try to upgrade the fw with kies (XEKC2) - kies informs that my phone can't be upgraded (however the phone was produced for russia). Is there any way to solve this problem?

If you have Kies 2. Then Kies shows something with S8500blabla/S8500blabla(bla)
All 3 infos have to match exactly.

Please post whole text Kies 2 shows you, or make Screenshot, then I can anwer without blabla.

I am too lazy to do this now for S8500XEKC1... but as you can see, I'm not noob.

Kies checks Database. Only if shown String is 1:1 the same like in Samsung Database, you can get update (if new public Version available).
So without exact info. I'm not able to tell what you could try to make your handset Kies "compatible" again.

i can now write whatever the value i want but i can't write a right formula

i installed GT-S8500HKAEGY as a product code as i am in Egypt but with no use

Flashing file with the wanted input method

Is it possible to flash the input method that I wanted (e.g. Chinese input) from a Chinese enabled firmware (e.g. ZAKA1) to the JL2 firmware?

Euhmmm as far as i understand you want chinese text and input on for example JL2. Well I'm not 100% sure. You could try flashing chinese CSC (make sure the versions are the same.. flasing a 1.0.2 CSC on 1.2 won't do a great job) to the JL2 firmware.. if that doesnt work out good you can always flash back to your origional FW but as far as I know the latest one (XXKF2) supports chinese INPUT (not sure about screen text) but i can select it

So the input method lays inside the CSC file? Let me try to flash the one from KF2 or from other 1.2 and report later

I said you could aslo try flashing the normal XXKF1 First.. Because it already has chinese input.

I've tried to flash the CSC file from DXKE1 but the input methods were still from XXJL2.
But itsn't the XXKF1 for Europe? Surprise it contains chinese input.... anyway, downloading it from samfirmware.com

Good afternoon! I have a problem with my phone. I'm from Argentina and I am new to this. the problem I have is I can not move from Bada bada 2.0 to 1.2. The problem is that I have no signal bada 2.0. but when wanting to pass me da bada 1.2 ERROR ERASE: in BOOTLOADER, APPS - Rsrc1 and CSC. attempt to install over 10 firmware and could not always gives me this error. please if anyone knows help me thank you with all my heart! thank you! First of all check that if your phone is locked to your network Because if your phone is locked to your operator than you will not be able to use open region firmwares and you will not get any signal.So check and then update here so we can help you better.

If you bought your phone from Argentina, most likely it is s8500L.
So may be the problem is in the proper firmware.
If I'm right, you can get the right one from sammobile website:

The phone is released. I can put any firmware 1.2 and it takes me the signal. the problem is now 2.0, and bada got no signal I take what I want to do is re-bada 1.2 but will not let me, I get ERROR ERASE at the boot, apps, Rsrc1 and FOTA. and will not let me install any firmware Argentina (L) because it gives me this error. and more than 10 firmwares probe and 3 different computers and I get the same error .. you would know that this error or to fix it?. Thank you very much for your help!

Try one of the indian firmware its a old firmware try ddjk3 from asian version. Use v5.65 of multiloader. And after a successfull flash just flash again the version u want. Please check boot change and full download. Don not tick master rom. See if this helps you this is tested by me as once the same problem happened to me.

if so - you can try this firmware

it's old one but great ... she helped me alot
if it still doesn't help - flash only the boot files - separately
let the device do restart and only reEnter download mode
and flash the other files ....
P.s very important - full download & LIS in multiloader
try to use ver 5.65 not the 5.67
make sure that your pc is not busy and that you have sufficient battery

This is S8500. and is loaded to the maximum (which is left over when flash bada 2.0) but I can not flash bada 1.2 and 1.0.
You've tried all the files separately by a full flash and low but the same thing. I always throw the same error. Multiolader already tested with 6.62 and 5.65 and the pc without aplicasiones open.
Probe with more than 10 firmwares and none let me.

adfree a question. is possible to merge the bada ams.bin 1.2 with 2.0?
Since doing that I think I may have a sign. I saw many users in Argentina had the problem of not having signal bada 2.0.
They are very different both AMS.bin?. merge is too complicated to operate the signal?

I'm using only Multiloader 5.67 if I play with bada 2.0...
XP 32 bit
Also for downgrade from 2.0 to 1.x I use only 5.67 to prevent "funny" phenomenons...

I use multiloader v5.65 and it works flawlessly when i do upgrading or downgrading on bada 2.0. I am having windows 7 32 x86-32 bits.
So adfree i think its not mandatory to use only v5.67 infact v5.65 works better and error free. But may be different person have different choices

I had simmilar isue (exept signal problem) while tried to downgrade S8500OXAKK7 2.0 to original Croatian 1.2 S8500XXKF3_S8500OXFKA1_TRA.
1st I had to flash Arabic S8500JPJG2. Worked fine for me! All done with MultiLoader v.5.65

Maybe ...
Try to flash to original beta rom of bada 2.0
but an earlier ver like :
S8500XPKH1 ## 2.0 2011 August S8500OXAKH1 Open Europe
and than try to downgrade

[Q] Firmware Installation Problem - ERR : Dbl Erase

Hi everyone!
Actually Im asking for my friend.
He tried to install a new firmware, and get this error message in downloader:
Download Start Ch[0]
BootLoader 1703.9KB OK[0.9s]
ERR : Dbl Erase
And on the device he get this message:
Abnormal SW Detected!
Upgrade Only
When he turn-on the device, its shows him the startup screen and its restart after that.
We've tried to install a few firmawares and even 1.2 official version, but still the same error messages.
Any Advice??

Why you need Bootloader Change ?
Bootloader seems intact, working... OTHERWISE you would see NOTHING.
The only Question... Which Firmware before... bada 1 or 2...
As example XXLA1 DBT bada 2...

Maybe problem is your battery percentage is finished ?

but you can't charge now via adapter.You can charge it on other wave or change your battery and try reflashing
only suggestion

as i said charge your battery on other phone or use new battery

I mean, I can turn-on the device, and also can use download mode.
When i turn-on the device, its shows me the startup screen and restart after that (loop).

turn off your device and connect it to the adabter
leave it connected for an hour then try to flash it after this....you may notice that your device might get hot while charging...don't worry

bada 2.0 need Boot from 2.0
So try XXJL2 Firmware for instance...

I have NO idea, what you mean with official 1.2 firmware in your country.

But you could try XXJL2 DBT as test... because 1.2 Firmware
Long time ago I flashed some hebrew Firmware... WITHOUT Bootloader.
If not dream, it was success.
So Bootloader is not special...
