Official gingerbread and wallpapers - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, as we all know HTC update has been trimmed of all wallpapers leaving only 1. Anyone know how to add back these wallpapers? Putting them in /system/customize/resources doesnt seem to work. Any ideas?
Thanks
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App

You can put them on the sdcard:
/sdcard/media/wallpaper

Does anyone kindly have the official wallpaper set?
Hi guys!
Following on the fine advice about how perhaps to install this official/original wallpaper collection "lost" from the 2.3 update,
does anyone HAVE IT, could LINK it or know where to find it?
I had no success on the HTC DC so perhaps there's a Good Samaritan who might be able to help?
Heaps of thanks, Matt

what wallpaper are you looking for?? The original ones from Desire??
for extracting the official wallpapers simply download the HTC RUU, extract the ROM and than browse to \system\customize\resource. There you'll find the original ones

Thanks Herr HB! Very grateful for your guidance!
Now that I've navigated my way to the system file as you suggested, I realise it is an img file that I'll need to burn.
As to your question..., yes, I'm looking for the original official Desire Bravo wallpapers left out of the 2.3 upgrade. I've installed the upgrade on a Desire that I am passing to a friend and I'd like to add in the range of original wallpapers for him. (only one remains). Any ideas where I could obtain a download file or apk of them apart from the earlier 2.2 rom img I have?
[By the way, the official flashlight apk doesn't seem to work on this upgrade. Any thoughts as to why this might be?]
Cheers... many thanks again for your generous help.

Official Froyo takes green pictures

Have updated to Pinkie 0.1 Rom and flashed new radio,
before doing this the new 720p enabled radio (5.08) would cause a light blur coming from sun light and tv screens etc..... which was a pain but could be ignored.
Now for some reason after flashing new rom and new radio, every picture i take with flash enabled comes out green
Any help welcome!

I know this could be fixed on other roms by using an odexed version of the camera app. in system/app you want to have htccamera.apk and htccamera.odex
I am using the same rom so will test this for you and report in just a min
EDIT: Just tried odexed camera app and it didnt work :-( still getting green pictures :-(
It must be something else in the system/app folder as changing it to an odexed folder in another rom fixed the green tint issue......
I noticed the same thing. Would it have to do something with the new radio? I'm on 32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20.
Will now test another 2.09 rom and see if it has the same issue

I can confirm that its not the radio and that it only happens on some roms not all
After some more research I think the problem may be with the build.prop
Just doing some more tests now then will report

Does this happen only with white balance set to "auto", or also when you set it to match the actual lighting?

I havent looked closely at pictures but from a quick preview I would say auto only....
ok testing shows that it is build.prop that is causing the green pictures. now working on a build.prop that will work for us all :-D
cheers liam
Ok managed to fix it with the attached build.prop, just flash in recovery :-D
Great! I'm going to test it now. Will report the result soon!
Edit: GREAT! That did the trick! Thanks a LOT!
Works now like a charm, thanks! What was the problem?

I dont know EXACTLY what the prob was but I can give a rough idea and explanation.
Ok the build.prop that DIDNT work told our desires that it was a passion device with passion fingerprint
my new one tells our desires that its a desire device with passion fingerprint
So somewhere round the line the camera must of been looking at the build.prop and seeing the device as beeing a passion and not a htc desire thus causing issues.
Atleast its working now!!
Forgive my ignorence but what is the difference bitween desire and passion ?
I have a HTC Desire French Orange (I think it is not a "passion") I used Official rooted Froyo update with market fixed.
I had the green issue, your file worked well now taking pictures works well.
Do I need fixed market ? Can I have problems with "fixed market" if my phone does not require it ?
thank you

Basically passion means nexus one and bravo means htc desire. They are just codenames for the devices so basically it thought it was a nexus one instead of a desire lol
As for market you have no need to worry about it, its not a big major change or anything like that and yes you do want it because basically this build.prop will make all apps show up in the market where as your old build.prop could very well of been hiding some from you.
Enjoy!
Ok, I understand, like I couldn't see Google Earth a few days ago...

I`ll post them as soon as I get home.
Attached froyo live wallpapers. Flash using Recovery 2e.
Couldn't get the beach one to work for me. Kept force closing.
Running JM8 and voodoo beta 4.
Do you have an update.zip file to flash back to the eclair ones or do I need to flash the whole firmware?
They should have worked with eclair roms to. To get the eclair ones you can get them from an eclair rom, you can find a rom in the developemnt thread, like Doc`s full rom, download and extract them from there, use an update.zip and flash them back. I`ll post them tonight when I get home if you won`t manage to get them.
Thanks but don't worry - I've flashed jm9 now.
will the update.zip wipe all the livewallpapers and install the froyo's one ?
sorry i don't know

[Q] Beats boot on/off animation for Insert Coin 1.1.4

I'm searching for the files( better if a flashable zip) of the new boot animation with the big logo of beats audio that htc introduced...the one that is also used in the runnymedeAllinOne by seebastieen15
thanks in advance
Why don't you just download the rom you mentionend, extract the bootanimation.zip from it and copy it to your rom (either /system/media or /data/local)?

if I could I would have not only created this thread, but I even had this need...but instead of answer with stupid answer like yours (i like to call this kind of answer:"le nonrisposte") that are usefull only for the message count , i think is better if you enjoy other thread or at least find some other interests ,no one force you to answer.
My question is still the same...can someone provide the files (or a flashable zip) of the beats audio boot animation(on/off)..
Dont jump on Mat. That is a good answer. I would have suggested the same thing given that you haven't found them anywhere else and I don't know either.
Out of interest, why can't you download the ROM?
To be honest, if I did know, I wouldn't tell you now given that someone posted a helpful response and you basically treated him like ****.
You have a lot to learn about courtesy to people who try to help.

So you wont even tell us why you cant do the simplest thing that we suggest to get the files you want?
Man, why are you even asking then? If you think you can come here asking for help then give **** to people who help you or come back with snide remarks, then more fool you.
Well you know where the files are now so you can go and get them. I don't think this thread has any business continuing.
Word of wisdom... don't insult thos who take the time to try and help you...it tends to discourage more help.
Also keep it clean...

Yep, it's that easy.
There is no bootanimation.zip in mentioned rom, at least in latest one.
@Terepin, live long and prosper.
EDIT: I found it in Runnymede_Desire_5.3. It contains two folders, one is beats with jpg images , another is android with png images. Didn't try. Attached it if someone wants to try.

[recovery file] stock htc one v ics 4.0.3 - bloatware free [recovery file]

Hello there !
Glad that you are having a look at this :good:
I love HTC One V's stock ICS rom with sense 4.0, that awesome camera, battery life, stability and internet pass through feature was too good to be missed!
But the only thing that kept me away from it was the occasional lags due to those awful bloat ware n stuffs which HTC packed with this rom .
So I decided to remove all the “useless/unimportant/optional” apps from the stock ICS rom.
This worked perfectly fine for me OR should I say that I have no complaints :fingers-crossed:
I changed to Samsung Galaxy Advance recently, I thought of sharing this with my fellow mates in the One V forum as a parting gift to anyone looking for this (more like a pay back to the help this forum has given me).
A big thanks to Lloir and Maxwen, for welcoming me into this forum when I was a newbie (still am, somewhat … LOL). These guys are real champions! :victory:
Once again, I want to make it clear that it is 100% stock ROM with no modifications what so ever, other than the removed bloat ware!
I couple it with the Titanium Kiss Kernel by Maxwen (Latest Version)
Find it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765687
Also this recovery file works ONLY using TWRP Recovery by rukin5197
Find it here (if you are not already running on TWRP) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721749&highlight=twrp
Lastly … I am from India, and obviously this nandroid backup it taken from the “Asia-India” version of HTC ONE V Primo U (GSM version) phone.
So I’m not sure/ignorant whether this might work for other countries or not.
I would be glad if it becomes useful to you guys.

it is TWRP>BACKUP>(place the restore file here)
yeah... i dont remember the exact path

Please help me locate stock purple flower wallpaper

Hi I was wondering if anybody had a backup of all the stock wallpapers. I have tried looking for them in root explorer, but I don't know enough about the android O/S to know what I'm doing. Anyway, I'm trying to install a different rom on my girlfriends AT&T SIII, but she won't let me do it if she can't have the purple flower wallpaper that comes on the stock rom. So if anyone has that specific wallpaper backed up or all of the stock wallpapers backed up then I would be extremely grateful. If anybody could tell me what the file is called so I can find it in a file explorer I would also appreciate that. If all you flashaholics can't remember what wallpaper I'm talking about then let me know and I'll upload a screenshot, lol.
Thanks for looking.

I have attached the hiRes flower as well as a zip with all original 5 wallpapers. They can be found in /system/app/SecWallpaperChooser.apk.
Thanks guys. This is is awesome. Now I can get rid of all this bloatware crap for her and put a better rom on her phone. Thanks a lot guys. Really.
