[APP] Pure Breeze Launcher by Samsung - Epic 4G Apps

Here's the Samsung made launcher " Pure Breeze " they offer two version lite and full.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.samsung.smcl.spblauncherlite&feature=search_result

I dislike only one thing about it, the bubbles around the apps in the app drawer.
Sent from my SPH-D700

Me too, I hope this a beta launcher they should make it more sense like with a little bit touchwiz. And maybe a couple of screen transitions, vertical cube effect would look nice for the app drawer.

Try clearing the defaults on the launcher you're on in settings > apps > manage apps. Then just hit the home button and you should have the option to select the launcher.

Use an app called home switcher ... Free on market.

Agreed as well. The launcher looks extremely outdated and really ugly.

I liked it. Needs way more customization. It has no graphical acceleration though. Until they put that in it will be a fail in my book. Might as well use sense capped at 30fps.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App

Not a good software. I saw the screenshots and thought the 'minimalist' interface and design would be great but as it turned out, the launcher was slow, buggy and had absolutely no customization features (aside from changing the tab colors). The launcher felt sluggish going back to the main home screen and appeared to have no graphical acceleration. I had to eventually turn off the animation to get acceptable performance.
My advice? Avoid. Btw, I did not get a refund.

Definitely not usable in its current form. Its slow - if it was smooth as butter I would have kept it installed for at least a few days to try it out.
Also if they don't make this free for Samsung handsets I think that would be really crappy of them.

ADW replacement for CM7?

Well, I have to admit it that I dont like ADW launcher in CM7. I prefer much more simpler such like Gingerbread launcher. I found one but it kept FC on me. Do you know where to find one that is working properly?

I had Zeam on my phone for a looooong time. Gave up on it after a couple of bad updates that introduced lag and switched to LauncherPro. Despite having larger footprint, IMHO LP is pretty lag free and has the features that I want (scrolling widgets) as well as a way of saving the dock settings. Zeam kept crashing on my Epic, and there was no easy way to restore the icon spacing etc. settings. Granted, I never ran it on CM7 Epic, but still have Zeam as my choice launcher on my CM7 Nook Color. I also have ADW EX (the premium version of ADW) and feel that its interface is not very intuitive/somewhat clunky vs. both Zeam and Launcher Pro - but it is the most full-featured and customisable one of the three. Never tried Go Launcher but heard some very good things about it.

And another +1 for Go Launcher, although it seems like it's a bit too full-featured to be considered a "simple" replacement. I don't have any issues with the options, but I could see it being somewhat confusing for anyone wanting just a plain home replacement.

I like go launcher but I remember reading something from konane (I believe) and he said that within golauncher there was a similar service to carrier iq and that it sends reports (or something) to the developer with info about our phone. That is why most people inlcuding myself expirience poorer battery life with go launcher. Other than that I think Go launcher is the way to go!

You will find a lot of apk's saying its a cracked version, but they won't work for it. I bought it, but rarely ever use it. If it had more options to play with, then I probably would.
The concept of it is great BUT the UI design is just plain ugly. I would like to theme it myself though.
SPB Shell is cool in concept & design but for me at least, cumbersome in usability & lacking all around in user friendliness.
I use daily, but definitely lacking in options. Biggest so far is no option to increase number of rows and columns, and zero options for app drawer.

There in effect that flips the pages like a magazine...The main thing with ssLauncher is that it gives you the ability to pretty much put anything, anywhere on the screen. If you want something more organized with a lot of screen transition animations, the other launchers would work better for you.

Icon Size and Text removal AKA Bigify for Android?

Anyone came up with an app for this?
I am not a fan of launchers running on top of any ROM and I read a lot about issues with apps and playstore after using LCD Density.
I currently switched from iPhone to Galaxy S3 and while the phone is great, icons are just not adequate to the screen.
There is an app called Bigify for iOS, is there anything at least similar for Android devices?
The main 3 options I am looking for:
1. change icon size
2. change angle of the icons by xy degrees (it looks fantastic!)
3. remove icon text
Here is a SS:
This actually would be very nice as it bothers me when the apps name is cut off because it's too long.. So being able to remove the text would be great!

Apex Launcher allows you to remove the app text or modify the title/icon. You cannot rotate it though.
Op running a different launcher has no actual problems
Say your using nova as default the phone won't have stock tw launched running in the background unless you open again

It's what you asked for. They honestly helped you as much to their abilities.
That being said if you want angled apps look into making it yourself. I know that is not much of a answer you're looking but as of right now as far as I have seen there are no apps or mods to rotate apps.

Root your phone install a recovery and install paranoid android, google it, i think youll like it.
I got TFS Launcher and it runs great. I do have one question though.... Isn't there always a Launcher running over a rom? Otherwise you wouldn't be able to run any apps.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app

Launcher question.

I just have a silly question. Many of the roms have different launchers in place of rosie, or using the aroma installer they give you an option. Usually Nova or Apex, and many people still talk about launcher pro. I use Go Launcher and have for a while now. I have tried those others and several of them only offer some options in a paid version, while Go has it all for free. My question is why does everyone seem to neglect Go Launcher when building roms? No biggie, I'm just curious.

I guess I have never really noticed. It seems pretty fast to me. I set the scroll speed higher and it seems to fling right along. And features like hiding app labels, and missed call and sms notification (with a separate add on app) as well as others are all free. Just a preference thing, so its cool. Agreed, the launcher itself is alright, but it is really bloated and needs lots of other apps to work well. It isn't that noticeably slow, but bad enough that I prefer Apex because of it.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using Tapatalk 2
The biggest problem with Go Launcher is that it has so much involved that it makes the phone slower thus making it feel "heavy". When developers create a ROM with a launcher the launcher needs to be light to begin with. It may still have great options that are important to most without extra frilly stuff as go offers.

Not sure what you are referring to with that comment, I don't get any of that. I don't see Go as complicated. Some of the things actually seem easier to me. I like the sms and missed call notifications, even though you do have to install the add on. But other launchers only include this on paid versions. Honestly I'm fine with that. I don't mind someone making money. Would just like to see it as an option for the default launcher in some of the roms using aroma now. But I may be the only one and by no means expect any of our devs to do that for just me.

Holy s**t, I gave up on ADW ages ago and jumped to Apex... I'm going to have to give it another shot and see how it compares. Thanks for the heads-up.
It's been a long time I haven't used ADW...
It looks good, I've been playing with screens and settings for 20mn... it feels like home, but better.
The best feature Apex desn't have is changing icons size... Just for that, I could forget Apex and stick to ADW (why creating 128x128 icons when Apex resize them to some tiny half sized icons ?!!)
I've encountered some few bugs (I guess) with theming dock.. nothing important though, as I usually get rid of it and go for full screen
Adding widgets pop up is amazing.. think tablet mode.. 2 panels with previews.. that's trully sexy.. <3
