Is flash installed
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium

I had been using crackle and a few other tv/movie Apps for the longest time on my original droid. Then one day the all quit working. I tried flashing different roms and even going back to stock to try to get it to work. I figured vzw or google blocked the use of these Apps until I seen this post the other day. Crackle nor any of the other Apps I used to work on my DINC2 either. Yes I have the latest flash installed. No shows or movies come up at all. My HBO Go works just fine though

Ill second that. Latest Flash installed, running Virtuous Unity Rom. Just grinds like it is loading the video. Im on WiFi.

That's odd, Crackle on Virtuous Unity is working for me. However, I flashed over to CM nightly 56 running Tiamat 1.1.2 and I get audio, but no video.

Running SkyRaider Zeus and Crackle seems to be working fine...

After some "monkeying" around I got it to work. I have restored my latest MIUI back up and it was not working on that either.
So, I cleared Dalvik cache, nothing. cleared app data, nothing again. I then moved the app from SD storage back to phone and Voila! It is working. I am going to try to see what happens moving it back to SD later. Maybe I got lucky. Anyone care to chime in that has had difficulties?
Edit: Back to not working. Audio, no video..

Flash Player doesn't always play nice with AOSP ROMS. I was running CM7, and had sound but no video. I loaded a Sense ROM, and it works fine.

If you're having flash issues with aosp roms use this fix. Not sure if it will fix issues with crackle but it has fixed all flash issues for me on cm7

Thank you very much! This workd for me running MIUI. Crackle was playing ads but only audio for the content until I did this.
Here's the fix posted in the link just to make it easier:
melgibson666 said:
There's a fix for any app using Flash, you have to use an app that can change permissions like ROOT explorer. Open up root explorer go to data/data/ "whatever browser you are using" then there will be a file that says app_plugins, after that it'll say com.adobe.flashplayer, then open .macromedia, flash player, and you'll want to hold click the config.data file and uncheck all permissions. And then BLAMO flash works again. I run a JTV player that uses embedded flash videos, and I had to do the same with that program.

Tv Shows Stream Lite - Watch your favorite tv shows on your tablet

Hi,
I just want to inform about an app that has been developed by xda members and has been reported as working properly on Galaxy S, and might be of your interest.
The aplication searchs in internet for tv shows video links that can be played directly on android, with an easy to use interface and fullscreen support.
There is a Lite (free) version with 12 preselected tv shows and a full (paid) version with 500+ tv shows.
The tv shows that can be watched on the lite version are :
Friends, The X-Files , Family Guy, Being Human, Monk, Lost, Heroes , Misfits, Prison Break , Breaking Bad, The Simpsons, South Park
You can read the full thread on this XDA forum link if you need more information.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=903351
I post it here because not all users go arround the forum , out of their device subforum.
If you find any bug or any suggestion, we are listening to improve, the aplication is still under development, the new feature "send liks to email to be watch on a computer" has just been added this week and we will have new features soon.
regards
Please, test fast forward and rewind in Frogmovz server, pause it before flash forward or rewind. Report if it work for Samsung galaxy S.
Thanks
It's one of my base apps on my phone, works like a charm. No lag, no buffer, smooth playback. Imagine this + Tv output
There are only 12 shows in the light version, but apperantly those are most of my favorite.
Lite shows:
- Friends
- X-files
- Family guy
- Being Human
- Monk
- Lost
- Heroes
- Misfits
- Prison break
- Breaking bad
- South park
- The simpsons

fast fwd, rewind, fullscreen, all working.
Tried on Heroes Frogmovz.
Hi,
Thanks for the reports.
We are working to make FF and RW working in karambavidz that is the only server that does not support it at the moment. It should be working soon. We are also considering direct download for files and the inclusion of movies.
Thanks for the continuous support from all XDA members.
Regards.
Movies would be a huge addition, I recommend moviewatch.in, there are loads of servers too choose from, say "putlocker" is one of the best.
I'd definetely buy the app(would even pay more) if you implement movies, I'm more of a movie watcher, than a show junkie.

Kies
Q:
How do users sync their phone with their computer?
A:
Users can wirelessly sync phone information such as photos, music, video, contacts, calendar events, and memos with the built-in Kies software.
1. To connect to Kies, touch Applications > Kies Air > Start.
2. Connect to a Wi-Fi® network, if not already connected.
3. The phone will display a URL. Enter that URL in the computer’s web browser.
4. On the phone, touch Allow to grant access to the phone’s files.
5. Download or manage files from the web-based interface.
6. Touch Stop on the handset to end the syncing session.
Q:
What can users do with Kies Air besides moving and syncing files and information?
A:
Kies Air can also connect users with firmware updates, import iTunes® playlists, convert video files, check messages, and manage device files, such as setting songs as ringtones.
Q:
Is Kies Air for Windows® computers only?
A:
Because Kies Air operates through a web browser rather than through software installed on a user’s computer, Kies Air is compatible with most home computers, including those with Windows, Macintosh®, or Linux® operating systems.
It doesn't state how much space the phone comes with? I'm assuming 16 gb, but I was hoping for 32gb.

O RLY? If you're serious, shoot me a PM.
Whoa... time to eat my hat. I was quite sure it was staying at 4.3" like elsewhere. Well, this is getting more tempting. But they say nothing about resolution, which means they're probably stretching the same 800x480 up to this now which concerns me. With so many 960x540s hitting and the new 1280x720s on the way, I feel like the pixel density on this screen might be pretty bad.
*sigh* Decisions, decisions...
What about RAM how much will this phonr come with....hopefully 1GB?

Well, it says expandable up to 32GB, so whether the initial storage is internal or external, it should definitely have an external SD slot as well.
So this at long last has BT 3.0. Too bad after several years there still are virtually no 3.0 devices to speak of to take advantage of the standard. Anyone, anyone, Bueller? Looks like a nice phone but also a generation I might skip with my Epic, without much grief.

LTE and WiMax are completely different hardware. That wouldn't be possible. As well, even if Sprint does switch to LTE, it could easily be another two years before we see that rolled out in any meaningful way.

I just picked up the killer Samsung HM6450 Bluetooth headset which supports it. We're seeing them slowly roll out. Actually, the LG headset I had before it supported it as well. Honestly, I think I've seen MORE accessories than I've seen phones with it.
Good lord 4.5" screen; its a mini tablet. You'd have to use a bluetooth headset with it; you'd look foolish with that thing up to your ear ... lol

[Info] List of apps that aren't compatible

I thought it might be useful to put together a list of apps that aren't compatible (either partly, or at all) with ICS.
If this thread gets enough responses, perhaps it can be stickied?
Post your findings, and I'll try to update the first posts with updates so prospective Nexus buyers can see what may not work.
Adobe Flash - doesn't appear in market. Available from end of 2011
BBC Iplayer - Doesnt Show in Market
BBC News - doesn't appear in market at all. Now works
Blood and Glory crashes
Calendar pad won't open
CalanGoo not working/syncing. Due to new Calendar APIs?
Dolphone Browser - multiple reports of freezing etc.
Evac HD and Radiant HD by Hexage don't work. They install and launch, but you just get a black screen.
Facebook - Doesn't implement menu button, so can't set options/contact sync Update adds menu button back (but no contact sync still)
Flickr - you can't get past the signin process Update available to resolve the login problem now
Go Contacts has issues with themes
Google Earth - Loads but won't respond (multiple reports of this, although some users find it works?) Now working for me too. Maybe it needed a rest.
Google Tasks Organiser - see CalanGoo
London tube status widgets also broken
MX Video Player - Installs but says device isnt supported
RemindMe also doesn't work. It too installs, but you get a weird black screen when you start it
Root Explorer - Now updated in Market
Skype works, video calling does not.
SwiftKey doesn't bring up predictions? Several users now confirming this does work okay
Sygic (Sat nav) can do initial setup, but won't display nav screen (reverts to home). Now working
Tweetdeck - When posting, dropdown options don't appear for location, contacts etc doesn't appear. Posting box just fills screen. TweakDeck in the Market sorts all problems nicely!
Urbanspoon hangs at the loading cuisines screen
Urban Dictionary by Tim Clark FC's in use Now fixed, update in Market
- Note, I've not added every single report to this list; as some are "intermittently crashes" etc. This could be just random bad luck, but if several people post the same kind of issue I'll add it. Sorry I don't update this as frequently as i'd like!

Yeah i tried co pilot yesterday. After it opened it closed down immeadiatley.
Alk sent me an email with my serial key and i am now able to use it. However it still opens and then hides itself and i have to re open from the icon in the notification tray.
Im kind of gutted coming from a fully compatible Gs2. Feel like a beta tester!
So far ive have issues with
Shazam
Lack of adobe flash
Ebay app - get random network error message which stops me from viewing listings
Most decent movie players.
Citrix reciever
If you have gs2 think hard before making the jump, as nice as the device is it is lacking a whole host of useful features added by touch whiz i.e
video codecs - mkv , divx xvid
all share - decent dlna app
ability to add individual callers to a block list
split view mailboxes
flash - for now

Well, it's not really a leak since the source is available - the XBMC guys have chosen not to make an APK available yet because it's not complete (lack of hardware accelerated video playback comes to mind). Anyway, the APK is from here: https://www.miniand.com/forums/forums/1/topics/136. It may be worth looking there from time to time as they say they plan to keep the APK updated.

Im finding the menu issue is present with my favourite skin... Neon. Although I can get the sideways ones to pop out sometimes. I eventually managed to get the movies into slide view.... After lots of swiping and button pressing. I still dont know what made it pop out. Havent managed to get the to pop up when the view menu is at the bottom though so I cant get out of slide view.
All my mkvs etc play awesome straight from my network drive smooth as hell looking great

Crashes
Anybody else tried playing with this?
I had an old version that ran, but after downloading the nightlies lately, non of them run, they crash with an error that they can not load libxbmc.so, I checked the app libs folder and it is present and non-zero but it still doesn't load.
Anyone have any idea why?
My GS3 is stock, rooted 4.0.4 (BLG8).

Android 4.3 has been annonced!

Quote
Android 4.3 has officially been announced – it's been in the wild on Google Play Edition devices for a while, but the unveiling was put off for today. So, what's new? Well, 4.3 is a minor upgrade so it brings minor improvements and refines the user experience, rather than delivering game-changing features.
Multi-user support was introduced in 4.2 and it's updated in 4.3 with the new restricted profiles. A restricted profile can limit what content and apps can be used – even limit in-app stuff like what levels of a game can be played.
The suite of stock apps has been updated - Hangouts now officially replaces Talk and Keep is available out of the box. The Drive, Chrome and Maps applications have been revamped too.
The way Android handles notifications has been changed too. For one, you can view your notification history. Also, third party apps have access to notifications, which will help smart watches and apps that sync notifications across devices.
There are plenty of changes under the hood too. OpenGL ES 3.0 is now supported (Google presented impressive improvements in 3D game graphics) and the graphics stack should be faster overall. For games, Google unveiled the Google Play Games app, which lets you keep track of what your friends are playing and a leader board of achievements in the game.
The "master key" exploit has been incorporated into Android 4.3, of course.
Bluetooth 4.0 with Low Energy mode (low power usage and longer range for low-bandwidth accessories like those fitness tracking gadgets) is now supported in stock Android. Before, each maker had to roll its own drivers. Also for Bluetooth, AVRCP 1.3 is supported, meaning the phone can stream metadata about the currently playing song to the wireless speakers (or your car's stereo).
Wi-Fi can be kept on at all times to determine your position, even when you toggle it off.
A new hardware-based encryption for DRM has been added so content providers will be more willing to stream high-quality content. A new Netflix app is among the first to make use of this and streams 1080p video (it's now available in the Play Store).
An Android 4.3 update will be available on Nexus devices from the Galaxy Nexus up (4, 7, 10, you name it). Google Play devices - Galaxy S4 and Nexus One Google Play Edition will get the update soon too.

Wonder if erickas or maclaw are gonna make 4.3 Android?

I think Maclaw made the last CM10.1 (Android 4.2.2) version and I think CM10.2 is Androud 4.3. It's just a matter of time when we get this, god i just hope it will be faster and better with battery life :V

I dont think it will be faster and better battery life in first release. It will take alot of time to be stable

Well yes, but I did see somewhere information that it will be faster and will be better on battery life because of the new BT stuff. However yes it was on this thread too i think
Not sure about that too cuz the bluetooth battery saver might be only for bt 4.0 unless the things are ported

Just back to hoping for kernel 3+ and a non-laggy or less-laggy than CM10, since CM10 is much smoother than CM10.1
