Weird Problem...Any solution? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I try to use my headphones the phone suddenly opens music player by itself and changes songs continiously. I go to settings and force stop the music player. After a while it opens the music player again. While I'm listening a song it starts to change songs suddenly. I tried many ROMs but its always same. What can be the problem ?
I used ARHD, Virtuous Unity, RCMix 3D....

Incompatible headphones. The OEM headphones has a switch that does these functions. Guessing you are using a set of non oem headphones. The oem headphones have more rings on the plug than a standard set of headphones. That much larger ring is bridging out the connection causing you issues when you first plug them in. Then slightly moving the plug may cause your issues to happen as you are listening.
I use a set with a built in mic/mic button and do not have these issues. But a set without a mic or switch will cause this. As the jack gets looser your symptoms will get worse.

I use Phillips SHS3200. I can't use OEM headphones cause they fall from my ears. I have to use headphones with hooks. What can you recommend? I was planning to buy a Sennheiser.

You can pick up a mic adapter cable like this and plug your headphones into it.

Pic pulled from ebay search of "mic headphone adapter". The remote button can then be used to start and stop your music.
Here is the listing
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Headset-3-5...088713?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2a13b27449
You should be able to find something like this in your local cellphone/electronics store.
I actually took my HTC oem headphones apart at the switch and soldered a better pair of headphones into it. I prefer the ones that set in the ear canal compared to the large uncomfortable ones HTC gives you.

You didn't say if you used the default musicplayer. I know some players have settings to forcestart when headphones are plugged in. Some players also have a "shake/turn/flip/give finger-setting to change tunes. But in the end, it's probably as poster above said. Incompatible headset...

Try an app called 'Headset Blocker' by 'Roadkill' it worked for me. It was suggested to me by someone else on the forums a month or so ago, works fine.

Vuvuzela app

With the World Cup in full swing, I'm urgently looking for an app for WM simiar to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6815141#post6815141
the thread you linked to has just an mp3, not an app. to set it as a ringtone, copy it into the windows folder on your device memory (not sd card). you may have to reboot after this but then, it should be an option for setting as ringtone or alert
EDIT now that i think about it, you may have to convert to .wav or can use the mp3 trimmer app found on most ROMs
oh sorry- didn't see that it was just a mp3

Haha, class! Can't wait to annoy everyone at work with this. Thanks
lol
It doesn't work on my Blackstone
After blowing the mic I get the message my phone is not supported. When I quit the app, the volume has gone to silent. Am I doing something wrong?
Are you blowing straight into the mic? (note you must blow BEFORE tapping Ok)
Eventually I passed the mic-check, but I don't hear anything while blowing in the mic.
Tried it too when tapping my finger on the screen while blowing, but it won't work
Still the volume is switched to silent after I close the app. Tried 1 to 5, no difference.
so neither sounds when tapping? I guess there is something wrong with your volume. In my case it reverts to my previous volume when I quit...
I just briefly tried it and it worked the first time on my Blackstone.
I really don't understand.
No sound when tapping either. Installed it on internal storage and storage card, no difference.
I've played music in the background while running the app and I can still hear it when tapping the screen. Still no vuvuzela-sound though. When I quit the program, the phone switches to silent-mode.
Really strange.

Remote that controls music?

is there a remote out there that can change the songs and what not on the evo...my van has a dvd player connected to the ceiling and i hook up an auxiliary cable to it and play music through the car speakers that way, sometimes a song comes on that i dont want to hear and its kinda of a pain to have to turn on and unlock the phone, i was hoping there might be a controller out there that connects with bluetooth or something i can hook up on the dash somewhere and just hit one button to skip songs, etc.
:/
+1 I need of those on my car
If you use cyanogenmod theres an option for holding down the volume rockers to skip forwards or backward. Otherwise I don't think theres a remote.

I know there are auxillary Bluetooth receivers that allow you to play music. I imagine some might have controls on them. EBay is your friend.

I know your not looking for a headset but this one has a remote, you can still make the sounds go out the AUX port.

It might look kind of funny holding a headset to change songs lol
the only thing i can think of is dowloading remote for itunes, plugging a laptop to the aux cables, having another phone tether wireless, connect the remote for itunes to the itunes through the wireless that the other phone is tethering.. but thats alot of trouble.. lol
Hmm. Headphones wouldn't work since the auxiliary is adlready in use.. what about bt headphones? Can you use both at the same time?
Gimme a couple a days to come up with a new sig that is cool.
Try searching for the Satechi BT Media remote. About $40 on amazon. Works great for changing tracks and volume on my phone.

[Q]Random Song-Skipping

Hello Guys and (Girls)
I've got a lil problem which is really pissing me. I can't listen to music normal. Allways the songs are skipping or restart whatever. Sometimes it also just phones someone, while im listning to music
I tryed 3 diffrent Headphones of Phillips, Zenheiser and Apple. They all didn't got a Mic or something to skip songs.
But they are showed as a Headset on my phone. Sometimes they dosn't show up as that, than it works perfectly.
Is there a way to disable the headset functionality or whatever.
WHAT CAN I DO???
Best Regards
safari
Does the skipping occur when using another media player such as DoubleTwist?
Are you rooted? If so which ROM have you got?
I got a rooted phone.
I'm using Android Revolution 5.1.10.
And its in every music-player also in the stock one.
Normaly i use the player called "MusicMod"
It occurs while i walk/run/jump or get on the cable with my fingers near the headphone port. Sometimes also with no reason.
try to clean to 3.5mm you may have dirt there..
just a question, when you plug the headphone to your dhd, do you see an icon of a headphone or headphone with mic on the top bar near the clock?

all of those show up as headphone with mic. sometimes without.

I had the same issue, and the fact your phone recognize a mic that doesn’t exist just support that you may have dirt there...
i used something like this:

You might want to try another ROM after all the other suggestions because I had the exact same problem on Cyanogen but not on any other ROM. Any random movement would mess about with the music player.
ok, i have same problem with buttons when i turn them off itsok but i wannabe able to skip track while im running, i notice something strange when i look at the back of the phone (at 3.5mm jack) i see bronse color, i think its wires inside of phone, anyone of you guys with same buttons problems can see that on their phones? so i can moveon my next diagnose if you dont see it

Robin: Bluetooth volume either very quite or blasting loud, no middle ground

(fix at end of post)
Problem:
Hello, so this is my biggest annoyance with the Robin, which I have been using for about 6-8 months now (and recently FINALLY was upgraded to N).
My problem is that, with any bluetooth device (speakers, headset, car head unit), there are only two styles of volume. This is likely caused by Bluetooth absolute volume (or synchronized volume). I don't know how to disable this without root.
1-3 is VERY quiet, I can barely hear it at all.
4-10 is VERY LOUD, I can't even wear my headphones and listen to music.
I mean, 1-3 goes from like 1-2dB, and then 4-10 jumps straight to 90-120dB. There is no middle ground, and it doesn't help that every bluetooth device now pairs with the volume control, too. I can't set one setting on my phone and fine-tune the volume on my device like I used to be able to a year or two ago.
I would like to listen to music using my phone again, but this is making it impossible..... I don't want to root this phone as it's a work phone and the stock robin android is very good, so I won't be able to manually adjust volume settings (unless that no longer requires root)
Cheers!
Resolution:
Android N simply switched to absolute Bluetooth volume controls. In the past I only knew how to bypass this with root privileges, however my stock Robin OS now shows a new option in Dev options to manually disable Bluetooth absolute volume. Disabling this fixed all sound issues I was experiencing and increased the quality of bluetooth sound.

Volume sync - Device-Bluetooth headphones

So on the G7 as with other recent LG phones I have used (G6 and V30) there is no syncing of the media volume between the device and Bluetooth headphones i.e. you have to set the volume independently on the device and headphones which means on headphones that have no companion app (e.g. Beats Studio 3) you have no way of viewing the volume of the headphones as the media volume shown is just for the device. It is the same story on the Sony WH1000x (but the companion app at least lets me see the volume) but curiously the WI1000x do sometimes link the volumes ok which is strange?
This obviously works on an iPhone and also seems to work just fine on other android phones I have tried recently including the pixel 2xl, Samsung S9+ and OnePlus 6.
Is this just another quirk of LG’s awful software or is there a way around it? It may sound quite minor but as someone who uses his phone for music every day it is really annoying and it making me consider taking the hit and selling it on for a S9+ or 2XL?
Thanks
I would like to have a solution to this as well, it's annoying that Mt by headphones don't sync up the volume with my phone like my s8 did.
I wonder if the fact that the wi1000x work sometimes coupled with there not being a separate Bluetooth volume display means that it is supposed to work but is a long standing bug? It was the same on the G6 and V30. Was hoping it had been fixed with Oreo.
I just had a check at my local HiFi shop.
I tested several headphones on BT to my brand new LG V30.
Only one headset had synchronized volume: Sony WH-1000Xm2
None of the following headphones had sync: my own Sennheiser PXC 550 and the shop's B&O H9i, B&W PX
Strangely, the headset's battery status is shown on my LG status bar so there is a communication, but it seems LG in some way has skipped the volume sync possibility.

I come from Moto Z Play (Oreo, Android 8) and on that device the sync worked without any issues.
