[Q] Overlocking Wildfire S? - HTC Wildfire S

Hi,
is there any Kernel for overclocking our Wildfire S?
The CPU should work at 800MHz, like in other smartphones.
Thanks in advance.

No overclock kernal yet.

Have voltages been tweaked to allow you to run it at these speeds and it still be stable?
Edit: Have you compiled the new wifi driver to go with the kernel as well?
I think it would be best if you just posted it anyway. Those interested will download it, use it, comment, etc. Those uninterested will ignore.
Sounds crazy. How would it effect bacon bits if you have that installed?

Yes I have the wifi driver and no it wont affect bacon bits. It is actually now 1.9Ghz and I'm reaching for the big 2.0. I am using coolbho3's source code and 1.8 worked on 1400Mhz and 1.9ghz is at 1500. It gets a little warm but setcpu profiles are a must

What have the voltages been tweaked to? If the Cpu isnt getting enough voltage and you continue to overclock your gonna begin to get negative effects followed by freezing and rebooting. Not really concerned too much about battery life as much as stability.
EDIT: Oh NVM i see what your saying the Mhz after the 1400 threw me off
Seeing as this post already has so many posts I'll be posting it in a bit after I have tested for bugs. Watch this thread for updates.

Lol that's great. 2.0Ghz didn't boot and 1.9Ghz is the highest I could get to stable. I will be uploading in a few minutes.
This is CRAZY! Please, I don't want my phone to explode
I want my phone this turgocharged!
I assume you will post posting your source too?

Oh my. This sounds like a great way to turn your phone into a toaster. Though if I try it, I'm labeling the 1.9Ghz SetCPU profile "ludicrous speed"!

Overall speed and things like PSX4Droid and other CPU heavy applications.
I will definately be trying this when I get home...good looks
Anyone care to mirror this? Rapid**** always tells me I can't download because I'm running a parallel download... even though I'm not. Mediafire maybe?

Download Faux Clock (I'll get you the link if you need it)
Once in Faux Clock, Do not OVERCLOCK.
Set max at 1.512 and min at 192 or 384 (if you have problems with 192)
Check set on boot
Now on that same screen... slide to the right and undervolt to whatever you want... I undervolted to -100 and i have no problem, so try it i guess
If you UV then don't set on boot until you're sure the phone is stable at that voltage.

[Q] new rom for my inc2

I've had my inc2 for a little over a year. Finally sick of the bloat that verizon stuck me with. Looking for suggestions on a stable, ics based rom to flash. Just want something solid that doesn't have a ton of bugs that will let me keep it clean.
Currently running stock everything, not rooted or anything.
Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated.
Thx!

Hi, now I have managed to obtain Aerovan's v9 kernel. But my query is why and how is it better than the default kernel available on AOKP build-31?
By the way, sorry if I seem to be hijacking the thread, but I guess the OP will benefit from this too!
Thanks.

Cool, I wanted to undervolt. This should help. Btw, I found the kernel here if anyone (i.e. OP) needs it: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/13435-unofficial-cm9-for-the-inc2-2012-04-07/
undervolting?
What's undervolting and how does it help me?

You should definitely Google it before you try it. Undervolting can potentially damage your phone if you don't know what you are doing so you have to be careful. What it does is lowers the voltage it takes to operate the processor thus lowering the battery use. If you go to low it will cause random reboots and freezes so you have to experiment to find what works for your phone because they are all a little different. I never keep anything checked that saves the settings for boot until I am completely sure that they are stable. A good app to use for this is incredicontrol.

[Q] wfs extreme overclocking

So is it possible? When i mean extreme overclocking i mean something like 1ghz or more. Please reply only if you know something about this.
Thanks

the overclocking is based on kernals... bt 1ghz is not possible with our phone... even the max 824mhz is not recommended cuz you may get freezing and random restart problems...

If you wanna melt your phone, go ahead.
The overclocking depends on custom kernels. If our phone came with a 800MHz processor out of the box, then maybe we could go to 1GHz. But not with this.

Before testing any overclocking download cputemp and turn on monitoring in settings. You don't want your tab getting over 100c. Only use a kernel written for your exact model. There are no kernels yet that are bug free and in final release.
