[Q] What stock .apk for viewing Excel, Word, PDF files? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just noticed that I can't open Word, Excel, or PDF files anymore. I may have deleted something after I flashed Synergy GodMode?
I'm guessing it was an HTC app.
Any suggestions on what the name is so I can pull this from an older nandroid system.img?

I totally didn't see the Removed_Apps folder. It was Quickoffice.apk.

New Microsoft Office and Skydrive

Is it just me or did Microsoft take a step back with Office. You can no longer undo and redo actions in Office. Another thing that bothers me is when you sync files to to skydrive instead of overwriting the file if its already there it makes a new version that u can't delete.
Just found out how to delete files but they I still don't get why the file just instead overwritten. For those that might run into this problem you click the info button the far right of the file and then u can change alot of options such as rename, delete, etc

Save games will be tricky as they all are located in their own folder.
Documents are stored in \My Documents\
Pdf's are stored here \Applications\Data\BC4F319A-9A9A-DF11-A490-00237DE2DB9E\Data\IsolatedStore\
Copying them "easily" is not an easy task. For the pdf's I suggest you sideload adobe pdf reader app and than use wppowertools to connect to the iso storage of this GUID BC4F319A-9A9A-DF11-A490-00237DE2DB9E, now you will be able to see all pdf files and copy them easily to the pc. Alernatively if you own a samsung you can use WP7 Root Tools or DiagProvXML (which has built in copy pdf to office hub, from which you can email the pdf).
Docs can not be accessed and will need to be transfered trough skydrive or mail.
okay works good thanks

[Q] delete pdfs? Solved!

any info on deleting pdfs on the htc one x that are being automatically downloaded when opening an email, etc., would be appreciated. when i delete the email, the pdf is not deleted. viewed via pdf viewer, the menu choices do not include deletion. i'm on stock rom, not planning to root. thanks for any assistance.
You can use root explorer or another file viewer and go to sdcard/downloads and delete them. Don't need root for that

Or Astro File Manager,it's preety good.
thank you. did not work for me, but i found something that did. go to settings/storage/make more space/browser. check off the files you want to delete and tap the delete button. i was very careful doing this as there were files with "titles" i did not understand and i wasn't sure if they included updates, etc., that i would rather leave alone. would seem much easier just to have a delete function in pdf viewer, but that would be too convenient for the end user, i guess!

(Q) Idea Sketch - How to backup

Guys,
Whats is the best way to backup Sketch Idea Downloaded files from S-Note.
Thanks
S Note data is stored in "S Note" folder in sdcard (internal). Therefore you just need to copy that folder with any file manager and you're done.
Tks for the advise mate.

Not exactly!
In S Note folder, are stored all project files, templates, and demo files you can create by S Note (.snb extension until 4.1.2 Android verison, and .spd in newer S Note app version, commonly on Android 4.3 based Roms). So you can actually backup that folder to save your notes (unless you sync them with Google drive, Evernote or Samsung account, and you feel just safe with those services).
But I feel that mjrifath's question was slightly different...
I think he was asking how to backup all the cliparts that you download in IdeaSketch, by downloading all images from single categories (such as "People", "Jobs", "Planes", "Nature", etc.).
This cliparts are stored in /data/data/com.samsung.sec.sketch/ directory, so to backup that, first of all, you *must be rooted* and targz or zip that directory, and carry it in a safe place (extSD, your PC harddrive, Dropbox, etc.).
Obviously, also to restore that folder's content, your device needs to be rooted, since you are writing a path that is a system folder ...
If you are interested, I can leave instructions on how to backup that folder, or locally with a root browser or via ADB commands. Both methods are ok to achieve the purpose

[Q] Colornote app notes to pc

I have the colornote app on my gs3 and regularly use this for notes. It automatically saves your notes to a backup file as a .dat file. This saves to my micro sd card; I have put these files on my Win7 pc yet nothing on my pc can open and view these files. I have tried notepad, wordpad, ms word, internet browsers, etc. When it opens in notepad it is just Chinese characters. I have tried opening the files in notepad and saving as a .doc or .txt and that doesn't work. I have scoured the internet and found no answers. I could easily copy and paste to my email, but I do not want my intellectual property out there (cautious privacy concerns).
So my question is, is there any way I can view these .dat files on my pc, or any way to get my notes on my pc in a different format that will be readable? And if there is no way to do this what other note apps work well that save your notes as a doc or txt?
Thanks for the input.
