[APP] Pure Breeze Launcher from Samsung - Galaxy Ace S5830 Themes and Apps

Samsung introduced a pure breeze launcher..looks kinda nice and smooth.
It's basically focused on organizing instead of multiple homescreens.
That was quite unexpected of Samsung
WEB Market.

am i the only one who likes moto blur?

i have heard alot of hate for moto blur reading reviews on tech blogs and in forums which has always put me off a motorola. however now i have the defy i actually think that blur improves the android experience since its not massivly skinned and you can still tell its android but with a few nicer tweaks
granted the home screens are a heap of **** but nothing that cant be solved but .ADW launcher and the new ex is phenomenal
also ive heard it is a bit of a data hogger but just set it to wi fi only and job done
appart from that their are alot of nice improvments over stock
I think the social network intergration is brilliant and better and easyer than stock
plus the keyboard is much better than stock and better than gingerbreads aswell
the usb managment is better
stock wi fi teathering
i think nicer lock screen
better camera app
better sync with computer and that in browser thing is very nice
all in all i think moto have done a nice job and dont think it deserves the bad stick it gets
what are your thaughts?
Nope!! me to!
Isn't bad at all!! but... it's kite laggy...
but... LauncherPRO or ADW are more complet than default BLUR.
BLUR Consumes a looot of memory by the face, need a good optimitzation.
It's ugly though
Also I'm not sure if the keyboard has anything to do with Motoblur? The Defy does come with the Swype keyboard pre-installed though, you might be referring to that.
The only moto keyboard I have seen is on the chinese rom.
I like the messing tools and widget...some other stuff as well....if it didn't bog down the phone so much it would be okay.

The 'Multi-touch keyboard' app is from Motorola and defiantly one of the best I've used...
I like motoblur in general. Could go higher on the "cute" factor, but it gets the job done.

yeah i think the home screens and widgets dont look ideal and could use a bit of polish their seems to be little consistency their perhaps
I like Motoblur as a whole. The social networking widgets are great, but there's some minor things missing. I'd like to be able to divide the applications into categories such as LG's Optimus phones (I've an Optimus One as well). I tried the LG launcher on the Defy and it works good, however I prefer the Motorola widgets.
ADW feels a little too heavy for my taste.
Swype is great though, not really a Motorola only feature but still awesome that it's built in. Compared to HTC's phones... well I'd like to see some HTC Sense system with the pinch to zoom - viewing all homescreens at once feature.

thats available in adw
could you post the lg launcher ive never used an lg android and was close to getting the optimus 1 just fancied the defy a tiny but more
Well, the interface is not that bad. I don't think it is ugly. But I found it unresponsive and laggy, at best. So I went for go launcher.
The message app is quite nice, but I don't use it because I miss the gmail threaded view.
The same goes for the social network app. Links cannot be opened directly making the app completely unuseful, since I have to use another one or the browser to read the complete post.
News widget does not support google reader.
Another big defect in my opinion is the missing opportunity to update system apps. For instance amazon mp3 does not support my locale, and I cannot update it.
Moreover system apps are triggered even if they are not used, sucking system resources. I have installed auto starts and found out it was a complete mess, but cleaning that is a hell of a job, and it's risky.
All in all blur looks unoptimized and half cooked so I think I will go for the deblur rom as soon as I get a win xp machine. I don't feel like experimenting with sbf_flash on linux; in the end this is my first android...
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
Even if you like Blur, it's impossible to argue against the fact that the implementation is shoddy.
You remove the widgets from the homescreen but it still runs a bunch of processes in the background, absolutely no need to do so.
The likes of the facbook integration in the contacts list is utterly lazy and uesless.
Motorola should offer people the ability to either disable Blur or flash official Blur-free ROMs.

Rachel UI on Galaxy S

I wondering,is there any way to change UI on Galaxy S like Rachel UI on X10?
Is there a port of this UI for Samsung Galaxy S.Š¢hanks in advance.
WTF, SE UI is by far the worst and ugliest UI on Android.
xaxa I fully agree with you telep and I don't think and I hope this will never be put on other handheld..
While I agree about the Se user interface there are plenty of really good launchers on the galaxy s such as launcherpro, ADW, ADW ex (my new personal favourite, Zeam (which is very lightweight and real quality) and loads more, many are free or have free versions available for you to try

Ok.I agree with you all,but this is only a Launchers. For example at the home screen in x10,there is a caller widget. Is there any widget like this one for other phones, with live preview?

[Q] Borrowing from Motoblur possible?
Hello.
I'm considering getting the Epic 4g, but was wondering if it's at all possible to 'borrow' from Motoblur, specific elements at least. I've grown accustomed to using the Motoblur UI (and has become my personal favorite), and making the move to Sprint, would cause a loss from me as Sprint does not offer Motorola Android phones.
The 'elements' I had in mind were:
- UI (Theme, Easy enough to simulate, possibly easy enough to rip)
- SMS/Contacts/Dialer, the whole integration between these apps, possibly. (If not, I would be happy if the SMS app worked on its own.)
- Connected Media Player
- The gallery app that was present in Cupcake - MotoBlur
- the built-in File explorer
I assume the Epic uses the same TouchWiz present on other Samsung phones, and all of the other apps, I can work with.
(I was personally never a big fan of Samsung phones, after owning 4 others, and having quite a number of issues with each. Sprint's Android selection is a little limited however. At least Samsung is higher in my book than HTC or LG. I'm not moving to Sprint for phone selection though, it's the cost benefit.)
EDIT: Move this if you can. The way my mind worked was that I saw the option to make this thread a question *After* the fact, and after I posted, I THEN saw the Sticky about the Q'nA Section. My bad.
...and now I have to wait 5 minutes to repost, so someone might see this before I can catch my mistake.

UI - You can have the blur homescreen by downloading Helauncher from the market, and switching to it in the setings.
Sms - Maybe Handcent sms, go sms, or chomp sms
I can't help with the other stuff.

Twitter update available

The new Twitter update is very slick. Download it and test it out. You wont be disappointing.
Layout looks nice but what a laggy mess in use! Will stick with Plume for now - much smoother plus scrollable widget on stock ICS launcher
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Looks like a cheap port from iOS or something, really bad and slow :S
Plume definitely wins even if just for the scrollable widget lol. Facebook and Twitter both really need to add that function. I missed plume when I got my nexus im glad they made it compatable with ICS at last
Mark.
It sucks. One line of code is all that's needed for hardware acceleration and they didn't include it? Total fail.
This is strange:
I put ICS on my Galaxy S2, yet it runs SMOOTH.
But on the Galaxy Nexus it's super laggy.
It's horribly laggy, and not at all optimised for high resolution screens.
The only reason I stick with the official app is because it's integrated with the contacts app. Once other apps (hopefully) start using the new API's to integrate properly, I'll switch straight away.

Thats because the GNexus relies on Hardware acceleration. A port doesn't.
Ok then people. What is your favorite Twitter app and why?
The app runs way faster if you force hardware acceleration in dev-options.
It's crap. Laggy. Less options. The old Twitter version was better. I'll stick with Plume.
I don't like how they've removed lists from the main page and hidden it in your profile instead.
Push won't work anymore.
Did they remove it?
EDIT: Can somebody PM me the old .apk?
Just deleted my Titanium Backup today men

Its still choppy in the discovery tab even with hw acceleration enabled. Hopefully that can be fixed in a future update.

Retweet filtering

Downside:

Loding more tweet doesn't go as smooth
Not a conversation like DM box
For the average user a lot of tweaking
No push

[REQ] iPhone style Copy and Paste

Okay so I know this isn't an iPhone but I really like the way C&P is implemented in iOS, with the magnifying glass when you hold down etc. Would it be possible for someone to create this experience on the Nexus 4 (or even all devices with Jellybean)
I'm admittedly pretty ignorant in the world of Android but I don't think this would be possible...
If you tap and hold on any text, the copy sliders pop-up. They do the same think iOS does.

Yeah, I'm used to holding down and scrolling through letter, I'm not a fan of holding down, then dragging a slider.
U srs rite nao. LOLLLLLLLLLL
In all honestly, there is a zero percent chance of this. It represents such an enormous undertaking, ie system level changes, for so little return. Sorry bro.
I can't see it happening, it would be awesome if it did because iOS c&p is superior to android but I think this would involve a lot more time than most devs would be willing to put in...I'd love to be proven wrong though.

How about " why ".
Lol. I wouldn't mind it to much if I were you. This phone has that too, but it kinda just gets in the way tbh.
I just wish copy and paste on this phone was better. Pasting is so horrible on this device.
Sent from my HTC One V using Tapatalk 2
Moto blur also has a similar and awesome copy paste feature. I'm not sure why Google has decided to make the stock text selection etc. so non user-friendly. Maybe key lime pie will bring something better in this regard, but I doubt there will be anything like this from custom Rom makers
It already exist in MIUI roms for about a year now. Miui is starting an aosp project and that may release some of their better features out into the rest of the android world.
yes, this is another pet peeve of mine, why is so hard to copy and paste with this nexus 4? it has the stupid arrows which is a pain in the butt to move around, is there a way to copy and paste so easily like the iphone 4
Am I the only one that has no issues with how Android handles Copy&Paste?
Works great for me... I've used iOS Copy&Paste, and don't like it. Plus Android made it easy to Select Text and Share on Social Sites...
If you want iOS Copy&Paste, then get an iOS device.
Same as if you want Mac Features on your PC, well then Buy a Mac..
Android handles it just fine; learn to use it better...

So because some users prefer the way iOS does some things to the way android does it means that they are using it wrong? There are many things iOS does better than android and vice versa. There is no shame in publicly expressing an opinion about how you would improve a product. Same with OSX. I've always liked expose, so I downloaded an application that mimics it for Windows. We aren't prisoners who have to eat whatever Google/Microsoft feeds us.
In fact, the best thing about android IMO is being able to use your launcher/dialer/whatever of choice.
PS one of the many bad things about android's text selection is that when you are selecting text that is near the keyboard it is excessively cumbersome to click on the text selection icon and drag it without touching a key or some part of the apps UI. A magnifier would make that a little easier.

Agreed
I'm pretty sure that Sense magnifies while selecting copy and paste.
I'm fine with the stock Android way though.
