Anand's review talks about the 2nd microphone used for noise cancellation. But it seems the Epic 4G Touch is missing this feature.

Here's a first impression from wired:

To be honest that feature on my E3D irritates the hell out of me. When *I* am in a setting on a phone call *I* hear the noise and it's usually very confusing that other people can't...I usually talk louder to compensate for the noise and only get asked "why do you sound like that" or "why are you yelling?"....it is especially effective with the exactl (constant, droning and predictable) type of background noise I work around. Perfect fit? No way, I have old school ears and sensibilities...the fact that someone I am having a conversation with isn't aware of or affected by the same sound that is ruining my day 10 hours a day for years, well, it's hard remember....Screw who I'm talking to, how about a phone that eliminates background noise for me? Besides, if I'm clearly busy (or trying to sound like it) the last thing I need is for my phone to make it seem like I'm in a quiet room with nothing going on.
Cool technology...the very concept of phase cancellation is what fascinated me enough as a child 2 decades ago to study sound, reproduction, recording and engineering in the first place...but...I will not miss it one bit.

Anyone noticed that the BWOne review there was a HDMI adapter while other reviews such as the AndroidPolice didn't come with one? What the heck?
Edit: From AndroidPolice "Yes, it did, but it wasn't in the phone box. It was in a bag, stuck in the shipping box separately. Thus, I didn't mention it in the unboxing."
Mystery solved.

PC World Review
I hear that the HDMI adapter doesn't come with it, at least its not part of whats in the box... speculation though, i am praying it does.

Okay special requests for my review will need to be sent by PM. I will include every request as necessary. So far the only major request I've had is signal comparison. And so far I can say that the Epic Touch is one bar stronger then the Nexus S 4G. I haven't been able to test 4G yet...

Found a couple new unboxing videos. Man my life is lame right now.

It's the same for every phone.. you should have read some of the threads on the Nexus S after release

Guessing that is aimed at people like me. Listen mate, if you wait 6 weeks for a phone you want to make sure it's right.
As it happens, the auto brightness is really aggressive, which means the screen automatically sets it's self very low and therefore it's very obviously patchy. If you turn the screen up it looks fine but this obviously isn't that practical.
There's nothing wrong with asking a few questions.
Tbh that is exactly what you should expect when you are a website originally built for developers and there has been the release of a new phone primarily aimed at developers.
They'll naturally want to know the capabilities and issues with their phone, more so even than another phone like S2.

HA HA yeah it's proper funny all this lark.
I can't stop laughing at all those weeks I waited and the £530 I paid.
Every time I think of the bugs and problems, I have to pick myself up the floor from letting out a hearty laugh. I just can't help myself. In fact... I think there's one coming now....can't....stop....myself.......HA HA HA!
Come on now. We bought a new phone. It was expensive. We waited through delay after delay, and uncertainty from retailers telling us one thing then changing it at the last second to something else.
We're trying to enjoy it, we really are, but the problems are stopping us from doing so.
Oh...and Coors Light sucks. Drink some proper beer.

Says the guy who returned a 10.1 with a dead pixel. OP
Would you buy a brand new car that has a chip in the windscreen?
Would you buy a brand new plasma that has image burn?
I think anybody that notices a flaw in a product of high value is going to moan and complain. Were only human.

A phone/tablet/monitor with a dead pixel, car with a chipped windshield, or a plasma HDTV with image burn are real reasons to complain/return the item. I have no problem with someone wanting to return a Nexus they bought if it has a line through the screen or the volume buttons aren't working properly.
The difference here is that most people are complaining about extremely subjective things, and frankly getting really nit-picky about finding "problems".
Its like returning a car because "it just doesn't handle right for me", a plasma HDTV because "it doesn't look very good with my stereo equipment", or a phone because "the menu button doesn't work the way I thought it would".
But this isn't exclusive to the Galaxy Nexus. People like to complain about every phone that comes out. Most of the people complaining don't even own the phone either. If you read any forum within a week after a device comes out, it'll make you feel like the device is an absolute POS that you shouldn't have paid $5 for. Get the device for yourself and make your own decision, I'm sure you'll be much happer with it.
Anyways, OP, I'm with you. Take all these threads as pure comedic relief. There's no reason to put any stock into what these people are saying. Read it for fun, form your own opinions after you use the device.
I got a complaint and i dont even have one yet. And that is just it. I dont have one yet.
I invented cyberspace. You're trespassing.
Uhhh ..thanks for letting me know what p!ss tastes like...but I'll pass.

Yup, was just about to reply to what you. haha but they have these kind of watches already. They sell a lot on eBay and some are good. Its just Bluetooth paired so you don't have to take out your phone. Makes you look like inspector gadget. Plus, I think thinkgeek.com has some too. I like the shirt that lets you know when wifi is near and how strong of signal.

Every shipping date they've previously stated has been missed. Although they seem to be quite insistent that they will start shipping "soon". They haven't told any personal customers any actual shipping dates. But Expansys seem to think that they'll be able to sell some from mid-April.

xda noob vide is horrible

I hated the "xda noob" video, all the flashing spinning text, too fast to read, poor, I clicked the box and went on. Replace it with something serious if you want people to watch it. btw thanks for the seizure.
Personally I thought it was witty and funny. But do you suffer from conditions triggered by effects such as flash photography? If there's stuff in the video that can be a problem for such conditions, we should post a warning and meanwhile produce a better video.

I think the content is fine. I also think people with conditions such as this should be able to look out for themselves. Nobody blames Hollywood for putting out movies with lots of explosions, or dubstep artists who whose songs are probably seizure-inducing. The video itself is humorous and informative and I don't think anything should be changed content-wise. At the very most, maybe a 3-5 second delay with a video dialog box that has a warning in it, but that's it.

The idea is to make it witty and funny, so members will watch the whole video and learn a little about the rules, also not being able to read it, thats why is says everthing that is show in the vidoe. Also i think a lot less people would watch the video if it was to serious, resulting in less members understanding the basic rules.

The video is not only hilarious, but it's most importantly memorable. It gets across a message, and it does it very well. I can only assume the seizure thing is a joke, but even if it isn't then the video still isn't that bad and people know what to do if they know they have a condition of some sort.
It is the best intro video I have ever seen, so i don't think it should be changed
If it was seizure inducing, a warning would be legit. That's why video games have the warning. If people have this condition, it is hard to stop looking fast enough to prevent a seizure. It only takes 3 flashes in one second to cause. That being said, very funny video..

I had a 3M one for my Incredible, it was PERFECT! Did exactly what I needed to, to stop nearby lookers peaking at my screen! All my friends would always comment "how are you able to look at your screen because its so dark!", and I'd show them and they'd be amazed. Sensitivity was never an issue, and the protector was very smooth, not like the other cheap brands you see on eBay and Amazon.
Def well worth it, I'm just waiting for them to release it too. I actually emailed them today asking when they'll be available for purchase. Hopefully soon. Will keep ya updated.

After typing this I realized I did a play-by-play of his review
Is the main complaint he has about this phone really a complaint? I mean he bought the phone knowing that there's no 4G LTE in his area, so how can it be a complaint if he knew this from the get-go? I bought this phone knowing that there isn't 4G LTE in my area so I, for one, don't complain about it.
I also like the build of the phone, I will agree though it does feel slick at times, like it will slip out of your hands like a wet soap bar! I too put a rubberized case on my phone to give it some more grip.
I agree with BWFBezerk, it's not a WiFI bug it's (ah hem, to say it like Apple).. it's a feature... this feature can be turned off without a problem, I disabled it on my phone...
12 to 15 hours battery life with heavy use, SWEET! I don't know what is considered heavy or light use, I use my phone about the whole time I'm at work from 8-5 and when I come home my battery is at 75%, I'm running Sonic FreeS3 0.1.1 and I must admit the battery life is insanely great.. I'm guessing his is stock ROM... I thought he said the battery life is definite "NO" not "GO" haha, my bad
SuperAMOLED is, in my opinion, the best screen ever... this is why I continue to get Samsung phones... from the Samsung Moment, to the Samsung Galaxy S II and now the Samsung Galaxy S III
As far as the speakers go, man I wish we had a front facing speaker for when viewing videos on the phone..
His case is sweet looking, my case has a kickstand on it too and it allows me to prop it up landscape and portrait
I'll have to agree with him, I really like the TouchWiz on this phone too... even thought I have a custom ROM on it, I only have that ROM on because it keeps the phone as stock as possible. One thing I didn't like about the stock TouchWiz though is the fact that the quicksetting automatically scrolled to the right.
Use the power button to get the recently used apps? Did he miss identify the button?
You know that 2 is more than 1, man I like this guy, he's doing a great review... I like how it's raw and uncut... real world as he says... no LINPack and all that...
I might have to hack my home button, I never use S-Voice anyway..
Direct Call is a definite GO!
Tap to Top, thanks for the explanation!
I can never get my screenshot to work swiping my palm from right to left, I can only get it to work from left to right... haha
I use Task Manager daily
This is a really good review, thanks for posting the link!

He has all the iPhones, I don't know if he'll review the iPhone 5. He said it's still too small for him. He only reviews phones he buys himself. Nobody sending the phones to him to review or anything. Check out the review he did for the iPhone 4s. There's 3 parts to that video.
I like dude's review style......but there is no "wifi bug" that I'm aware of.
Super duper late lol

No before the setting was discovered, it was mentioned in XDA that it was a bug. I had the same bug too when I got the device, then the reason for being as found.

Floss does great. Always gives great reviews. Very honest and to the point, never wastes time.
