Stock ICS Calendar for Epic Touch

What started as a question became an answer. I was looking for the stock ICS Calendar and widget. I got it. You guys might give it a whirl. It is a lot better than the touch wiz one. Plus, you can use it when touch wiz is shut off and it is resizable. I cannot figure for the life of me why Samsung would have removed it.
I used titanium backup. If you are familiar with something else it is your choice.
1. Uninstall Calendar 1.0 and 1.1
2. Install the downloaded Calendar
3. Enjoy

This was just brought to my attention. Apparently others are as dissatisfied with the stock TW calendar. Some kind dev made a non root app on the market.

Yeah, it's just the 4x4 calendar widget that has the modern ics theme, resized, and I put it into agenda mode.
Oh and I set the transparency to 150.

It may be because you need to push the apk, rather than install like a regular app.

You the man kc thanks! I just copied the calendar.apk to system/app and reboot.
It went to the Android upgrading prompt. And I didn't have to uninstall anything.

I still dont get how to use rootexplorer to push it into sysytem/app
How do i copy the file in the first place.? ( through roo explorer because isk if you are able to acess external sd card with it)

Hi, I'm trying to uninstall via TBackup... no dice, any instructions on how to do it?
EDIT: Nevermind, I got it to work.

I'm not on ICS yet but do you need to be rooted to install this you is it just a simple case of installing the apk? thanks

Right between the epic and epic touch is the epic 2 with model number don't remember seeing this b4. This is a photo of my contact transfer machine at work btw.

I like my OG Epic but I never used the keyboard. Would be nice to a new epic slider but I think I'll stick with my epic touch for now. Really can't beat this phone software wise and once it gets some of the CM9 bugs squashed it will be pretty slick.

I think the epic 2 was supposed to be the epic touch but got axed for dual core exynos. I read that it was supposed to have almost identical specs to the epic touch but a single core processor.

My Nexus Was Run Over By A Car..... and SURVIVED!

Well kind of... The screen is shattered but it works perfectly otherwise. I still payed the $100 deductible and am awaiting my refurb replacement . At least its rooted with CWM so i can restore easily!

this is nothing. I have seen on the news, iPhone have survived drops from airplane during parachute jump. Also the iPhone helped saved people in every big natural disaster since its inception.

I've already made the jump. LTE is around my city, there is even a LTE ready tower at my local park. I'm just waiting for the official LA metro launch soon.

Yes I live in southern California in the los Angeles county. There will be LTE launching here soon. There was recently testing of LTE. A local tower in my city park has LTE though, it isn't live yet.

Yeah it is practiced a lot in some areas due to city regulations I believe. It looks plain silly to me but oh well I ain't complaining if I can get perfect reception at my local park where I can go relax or study with amazing LTE coverage haha.

Hahha ya there's an ATT tower down the road to me next to some firm trees that is dressed up as a tree and it perfectly fits in.
Anyways. I'm waiting for lte before upgrading. Central Valley and northern cali isn't expected to start network vision till December at the earliest. We'll start getting a dozen or so tower upgrades per week and there's are hundreds of towers in the market so the likelihood of lte being turned on is probably pushed to the springtime anyhow... In time for the galaxy s4!

Hey there are wires coming out if the palm tree. It is a different sort of palm tree tower. And it is from Atlanta.

Switching to new phone.

Holiday season is coming up and a lot of people are getting a new phone. Personally, there are two contenders that I'm still trying to decide on which to get. The nexus 4 and the lg Optimus g on sprint. Both awesome phones but which one do you guys recommend?

See reviews and go to the store to play with both of them get a feel on them and also see what it is you want in a phone. Thats what I did and got the best beast that is out right now for me that is :thumbup:

Galaxy note 2 came from the e4gt and dont regret it best phone in the market right now Imo and touchwiz stock is just pure goodness im still on stock unrooted. I saw one person who is rooted and bare had got 11hrs screen on lol phone is just amazing.

Yeah I know.... But the lg Optimus g has some killer specs. And on the other side, the nexus 4 is pure 4.2 android and also has some great specs.

Yup its this great on stock unrooted. I really havent had a reason to root yet and Samsung actually nailed it with the stock touchwiz launcher and the features and s-pen is really great but battery was the big thing that made me jump on to this phone I really got tired of carrying my charger or extra batteries around to me its just stupid and if your going on a trip there's a 8500mah battery witg a nice looking door that doesn't make the phone look to bulky lol one person showed a pic there in the forums getting like 3 to almost 4 days without charging.

Another vote for the GNII from a previous E4GT owner, even though it's not being considered by OP. Have fun getting updates from LG if you decide to go with the Optimus G.

yea I thought about getting the note 2 but its a little to big. that's why I want the GS3. but between the nexus and optimus I would go with nexus for pure 4.2 and I assume it has a big support community.

I'm in support of the idea of getting Agat another E4GT for kernel work.
If you're willing to that would be IMHO a great use for the phone.
(Assuming you're not handing it down to someone else, of course...)

I would go for the nexus 4 just for stock android. And lte doesn't matter for me because I get around 13mbps down here
