HTC Evo 4G, still a great phone but I want that led screen and crazy speed.
I might miss the 2-3 day battery life though, but hope the development is strong for Epic Touch 4G.

Its not on the list but I will be coming from the HTC Touchpro 2.

Evo 3d.. Not what I thought it would be sadly

Coming from Sprint's Nexus S 4G.

None of the above
Had the evo 4g for over a year and absolutely loved it, got the evo 3d and returned it before 30 days was up.
And since I sold the OG Evo, ive been on a temporary palm pre in waiting for this phone

I'm upgrading from the Touch Diamond. It's old, busted and scratched up and even chipped on the top left corner where I dropped it. Gonna be a huge leap!
Upgrading from my under power Hero. (To lazy to post a pic )
Upgrading from iphone 3gs. Can't wait to get off AT&T. Sold that baby on ebay and got enough that will easily cover the evo and the ETF fee. Anyone know what kind of resale value HTC phones have? haha.
Sold my iphone 3gs to radioshack. Bought a hero to test out sprint and android, and I'm returning it tomorrow. It's basically a temporary test phone, so I would say I'm truly upgrading from the iphone.

Thanks everyone, moving to Epic touch 4g

Wanted to take the time and thank everyone in this forum for answering all my questions for the last year while I had my great Evo. I will be picking up my Sprint Epic Touch 4G on Friday. I have learned so much on rooting, troubleshooting and helping my friends come over to Android from the iphone community.
Thanks again and best of luck to everyone and their Evos.

This goes in General.

i agree this comment should be moved to the general forum area. i will however say that one my friends just his early and it's a nice phone, but the screen is just hair bigger than the EVO and at the moment could not see changing just yet. enjoy your new phone.

General is valid, but he at least made the effort to give kudos to those that made his stay with the OG better. I too took a look at the new toy, but have to agree...will wait until October/November. Specs and all are very good, just dislike the white (grey) and the web browsing was a bit lacking in the pixel translation (too many dot..dot..dot..with sudden changes in zoom/rebound if you will). Even made it to the register...was very tempting mind you, but will take a bit of "flawless" to get me off my OG since I don't really play a lot of games or watch movies on the "PHONE". I believe those that did make the move will be pleased, but not as much as those that wait a couple months..hmmmm.
Made the plunge
well Friday i decided to change to the Epic 4G Touch, and have to say i couldn't have made a better choice. great phone and the best part is that it's not much bigger than the EVO, don't get me wrong the EVO was and is a great phone.

Should I buy the Evo 4g ?

I was wondering if I should buy the evo 4g. I have the evo 3d but do not want \ use the 3d features. I also am looking for a phone I can unlock fully. The Evo 3d is stuck on HBOOT 1.5 and S-on. I think the site below has my answer but I'm checking with you for your experiences. The general idea is to trade or sell \ buy a new evo 4g. thanks!

I have used the mentioned steps with success in downgrading the HBOOT on a EVO OG. I too have a 3D with HBOOT 1.50, unlocked & flashed. I rarely use the 3D aspect of it, except as a parlor trick for my 3D deficient friends. I bought the 3D mainly for the hardware specs(which are being quickly subdued).
I love my Evo, but with other phones on the market now..i wouldn't but it.
Yeah, I was also looking at the hardware when I got it. I figured the 3d was just a good bonus. I still like the phone just want to have an unlocked one for ICS and all the changes coming.
For me, going from the 4g to the 3d was a BIG step up, the processor is WAY faster. I couldn't imagine going from the 3d to the 4g.

The 3D is slated to have ICS availble for it sometime in Q1. No need to root/unlock. If you wish to not wait, use HTCDEV method to unlock and flash via fastboot. Once, the source programming for he 3D is readily available, customs will follow! As stated I have a 3D and flash the heck out of it, even with HBOOT 1.50. Good luck! I would advise not buying a EVO OG. Sprint buyback program is only offering $90 for an OG, pay more than that and you're upside down!

You see what i use don't you?VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV the best phone i ever owned!
Whatever you do.. Dont be the guy that got a great deal online only to find out the previous owner had a large unpaid balance and that large unpaid balance was tied to the specific EVO 4G. It was either he or the previous owner who had to pay the unpaid balance before activation. That so-called great deal turned out a nightmare.
true dat my evo is gonna be come a real nice android based mp3 player / maybe just a voip phone or something

Need your opinions...

So right now I have an evo4g lte (not a thing wrong with it). Sprint sent me a white galaxy s3 (refurb) with only 15 total life calls on it and less than an hour of use. It only came with a charger. It was basically sprint saying, hey sorry for a messup try out this phone if you don't like it send it back...or keep it and send back evo.
Questions...
When I got the evo I purchased best buys buyback on the evo. Wouldn't I lose the buyback on the evo ? What's the best deal to not lose money? (got evo on release day)
Why would a refurb have such little use and are refurbs a concern?
My next upgrade is Feb 2014.
I've took a look already of what others said pros and cons are.
Just looking for advice from community to come to a decision
Thanks!

Stick with the s3 man you won't be disappointed. Night and day difference in quality and performance over your evo.. Buyback plan may switch to the s3 since they sent it to you but I'm not sure. You made money off this deal by them sending you that phone regardless of it being refurb. I've rarely had an issue with any refurbished devices.

Why is Sprint sending you a reverb when your evo has nothing wrong with it?
Aside from that it's your personal opinion on which one you like more. I can't stand HTC phones so I'm no help.

Wow lucky person lol. I'd stick with the gs3 but I'm biased. My wife's old evo ruined HTC for me.
Sent from Pluto.
The S3 is better than the Evo LTE in my opinion. I also can't stand Sense or HTC support. Its not a huge upgrade though. I would talk to Best Buy about how much they would give you etc. But just to be very clear the S3 has better hardware and software and will get upgrades for Android faster and more often.

Gotcha....
I guess my only concerns now is it appears if the phone is replaced and the buy back isn't attached to the esn then you lose out in the program if I take the galaxy...or keep what I have for another year and figure that I won't be paying out if pocket a whole lot of money for the next greatest thing.

Well here's my opinion on the gs3 or evo lte why I got the gs3 was one the fact that I can't stand not being able to switch batterys if needed but other than that they have just about the same specs and I just liked the look of the gs3 better and flip covers they look so cool right haha just wish Samsung made black gs3 for sprint

NEWS: HTC phones officially the best at stopping bullets

One California man is thanking his lucky stars that he decided to buy an HTC Evo 3D. Yesterday morning the phone stopped a bullet that would otherwise have hit him in the chest.
It’s a scene right out of an old Western flick, except that the pocket-sized Bible has been replaced by a 4.3-inch Android smartphone. A look at the back of the Evo reveals that its most volatile components (the battery) played an important role in stopping the slug.
Obviously the victim will be in the market for a new phone now. If HTC’s marketing department has an ounce of common sense, they’ll leap at the chance to work this into their Iron Man campaign and get a brand new phone into this guy’s hands as quickly as possible.
This isn’t the first time an HTC phone has stopped a bullet, either. You may recall an eerily similar incident that occurred back in 2011, where an Atlanta nightclub valet’s life was saved by an Evo 4G. Yes, that’s another Sprint variant.
Is it possible that the Sprint/HTC collaboration is yielding some breed of superphones? Clearly one other thing Droid does is stand up to small caliber rounds.
Unapologetically plastic? That’s a slogan that works for some. Others might prefer the sound of something a bit more dramatic, and if HTC can’t find a way to capitalize on a second live-saving, bullet-stopping phone then the company deserves to be absorbed by a competitor and fade into oblivion.

That's like the best kind of marketing...
yeah, HTC dould use it efficiently...

haha, yeah...It's true, HTC could replace the mobile and use it for marketing... It is definitely the best build in the android mobile market...
They should really use that for marketing, would catch the attention of people with cracked phones!
New business opportunities for HTC. Manufacturing of body armour.
