I have to trade in my Photon at Radio Shack. I'm still in my 30 day trial period and they don't start selling it till today...at 9 am.

The Sprint manager is going to call me to come in to pick up 3 ET that she's holding for me, free of charge, when they arrive at the store. Was going to go at opening time too.

Yea, I'm waiting. I still was unsure if BB or RS is selling them locally tomorrow. I was hoping they would be dropping their prices to $149, but I doubt it. So, lose nothing by going with Sprint I guess.

The guy at Radio Shack said $199. I would go to Sprint but have to return the photon to the shack since I bought it there...

I am wondering that too, is Best buy selling them today or not? or am I going to have to go the corporate store? its 3:22 am for me now and I cant sleep either.

Its better to exchange the Photon for Galaxy S2 then to return and buy somewhere else. If you exchange you are still liable for the $200 ETF and $18 upgrade fee of the original contract. If you return and buy the new contract terms will be $350 ETF and $36 upgrade fee. Also if I am reading Sprint's memo correctly customer support can no longer give out credit for the upgrade fee.

Thats what i meant....exchange not return.

Im trying to decide if its worth driving 50 miles and paying 10% sales tax to get one...

Damn 50 miles to get a phone. Maybe waitng 2-3 days is the better choice for your options. I just hope they dont sell out with pre orders and I cant get mine today.

Shame on you two.... this is not just a "Phone" ... how dare you say 50 miles is too far...

I know the feeling.
Sad part is i was actually asleep till i had a dream of being in sprint store and they were out of ET.

Sprint lied ! ... last night i asked a rep if they have overnight shipping ... he said yes just pay more ... today after i order my phone ... i call the order support # and they said they don't have overnight shipping ... just a standard 2-5 business days ...
So i have to wait until monday

Go to a store & grab one. Refuse delivery when it goes to your house. I did that with a NS4G. They just credit your account....

I would if I had to

Anyone Preorder the Epic 4g Touch at a corporate store?

I called the corporate store by my house and asked if they are taking pre-orders for the SGS2 and they said I can come in and buy a 50 dollar gift card and be put "on the list."
Anyone else been told this? I don't know if I want to do that. I have to get mine from a corporate sprint store cuz i'm on sero premium...
I pre-ordered mine in a store a while ago but I haven't heard anything. I think I'll stop by and check today what the deal is.
I thought about it, but I can't see paying the activation and $80 more than other places.

Did they have you buy a $50 Sprint gift card?
I called 5 Sprint stores, including 2 that were supposed to be corporate stores, and all told me they weren't taking pre orders. I also tried calling into Sprint sales lines (Twice one day, and another time on a separate day) to pre order and I got the run around and "We're unable to do it" from them too. Pissed me off and took up several hours of my time. So after all that, I called Best Buy and they told me they'd put my name on one in the back and hold it for me, so I'll go down Friday morning and pick it up.
Good job Sprint, way to take care of a 7+ year customer. Left a bad impression on me if you can't tell
I did it today via the phone... Best part was that the store was out of cards, so i got to bypass the 50buck card. I have my appointment at 10 on Friday.

My wife is getting this Friday. We went in last night and "pre-ordered" it. Did the $50 thing. They said that would put you on the list and she can just go in and get it Friday sometime.
Thanks for all the replies, I actually went in and got the gift card too. Didn't really make a difference considering i can just use that gift card towards paying for the phone anyway

I pre-ordered mine from the local sprint store here, which is one of the full service stores. They had me purchase a $50 giftcard, what they do is have you buy the gift card, then they place your name on the list of pre-orders that they send to samsung so they can fill their orders. When the phone arrives you present them with the gift card, they then ring it up, minus your discount, minus your trade-in(if any), and minus the $50 gift card. Then you pay the difference.
So you figure $199 for the phone with full upgrade. -50 Gift Card, -trade in($100-$125 for the Evo). You pay on launch day $49-$74, and walk out with your new toy.

I was told when i placed my pre-order, that they would receive enough E4GT's to cover all of their pre-orders, and a few for the shelves.
I preordered mine at the nearest corporate store almost two weeks ago, so I should hear from them tomorrow to make my appointment I hope.
I did the 50 dollar gift card thing.
I called radiosack up and they are holding one for me..
how much is it though
Technically co stores have to do the 50 dollar gift card. My store has reserved about a third of our first shipment so far. Most co stores should have plenty in stock.

Letstalk shipping status...

Just thought the Letstalk crowd could use one of these since the Wirefly folks have one and don't seem happy about sharing that thread.
Also, about to complete an order with Letstalk, if anyone wants $25 off I can try to add you as a friend referral during check out. PM me if interested.
Ordered mine Monday from Letstalk. My status still says its awaiting carrier approval.
Ordered mines on Tuesday and it says the same thing.

I called cause I was getting Jealous of the shipping status on Wirefly. Rep said it says that because the phone is not technically out yet. She said it will probably ship Freaking Monday and I will get it Tuesday. Since overnight shipping does not work on the weekends
Ordered monday night, had to call in to verify CC info and was told phones should be in sometime Thursday and will ship Friday.
The rep said this was not concrete so things may change.
My order shows Ready for Fulfillment, and Carrier Approval on the second status.
I cancelled my order with them...I used a referall and got $25 off making my wirefly order $125. I then went on chat and requested free overnight and they did it. I placed the order at 1pm on Wednesday, 9/14 and 3 hours later at 4pm it showed shipped. They are actually going out tomm, so I'll have it by friday
you have to ask the chat reps to "expedite your order by forwarding your account to the activation team" they will do it and next thing you know, your status is literally changing through the steps every 15 mins....they are quick!
I have a corp account which doesn't have activation fees, so I'm good. In my entire history with sprint, i've never had a single activation fee. it all depends on which corp discount you have
if you want to still place a order and want $25 off, just use my link and we'll both save that amount.

the main thing is you have to keep pestering them every step of the way....their status updates are deadly accurate....
i had to call in twice since it said so and as soon as I hung up, it went back to normal. Something about a mismatch with my pin. and verify my address
so keep a look out on your status ...they are really quick about it seems....
i think the main ting is to get them to give u free overnight and it will bump you
i honestly had 3 orders placed....letstalk, amazon, and now wirefly. They don't activate your account or touch your upgrade till they actually open the box to program your phone and when one does it first, others can't do it. I still cancelled both orders though
with the $$, it only places a hold on your credit card, not actually charging it till shipping. so no mess to clean up.

Just called about my order that was placed on monday. She said her supervisor told her they wouldn't be getting the phone in until friday and if they got them early enough, they would go out that day. Thus making the earliest I would see it, would be monday. I got nosey and asked how many orders they had so I could find out if it may go straight to backorder. She said at this point they only had about 100 orders for the phone and they had way more than that coming in. I know this may conflict with what others have been told, but that was the story that I got.

30Days Guarantee still on Best Buy's Subscriber Agreement

I was reading over the contract that I received after doing my upgrade this morning at Best Buy. I notice the $36 activation fee, the $350 advance devices ETF but still 30 days Sprint guarantee to opt-out. Wondering if this is the same with other people that activated with BestBuy also? Also if Sprint store activation still have the 30 days?
Negative..14 days to opt out, after 3 days you have to pay restocking fee, $350 early termination fee at Sprint store. They just went over this with me

I'm glad you posted this. People in our state need to know their rights. We DO have 30 days. I believe this is because of AB1010 in 2006 or 2007, but not sure.
I saw and heard the girl at BestBuy bring out the new Sprint subscriber agreement and thought boy am I glad I didn't get one of those. But yes they are active at BestBuy. I'm sure they will still enforce it with me even thought I didn't get one.

SERIOUSLY WTF happen to the LAWS!!!!! like I mentioned in another thread, is there not just a California Law, but a FEDERAL law created by the Federal Trade Commission that generalized the 30 day return policies for ALL BUSINESS SALE AND TRADE. its there for the good reason so business's cannot take advantage of Consumers RIGHTS for sale of faulty goods and or services. This is to prevent them from STEALING your money.
I guess companies are really getting bold right now that the economy is so messed up they are feeling too Arrogant that people don't have money to take them to courts or something.
Wake up people our freedoms are getting taken away from us slowly.

Federal law pretty much says that if you purchase an item and it isn't defective, its yours unless the store wants to be nice and exchange it for you. Sprint can say "All sales are final. No returns," if they want to, unless the item is defective.
Individual states may grant more rights, of course. Like California.

BestBuy is NOT the service provider. You have 30 days to return the phone, fine, but 14 days to cancel service and not be held liable to the contract term. Don't confuse the two. Be careful and triple check the details with Sprint directly as well. Never hurts.

Yes Best Buy is not the service provider, this was understood by myself. Best Buy have you to agree to a contract and who is this contract for? Sprint. It doesn't matter what the Sprint's store or even Sprint.com has as their Subscriber Agreement. I didn't sign or agree to those terms. While in most parts BB's contract might be the same as Sprint but I only agree to the term in the one provided to me by BB for Sprint. It's clear that Best Buy did update the terms of their contract for Sprint subscribers as the ETF is now $350 for smart devices. The way that I see this is if there were to be an issue with the 15 or 30 days Best Buy would have to resolve it and not Sprint.
BestBuy can't resolve anything with the service contract term, as the service is provided by Sprint whether BestBuy makes a "honest mistake" or not. They can only resolve any 14 or 30 day return issue with the hardware.
So if you're going to rest on the laurels that if BestBuy makes a mistake and tells you 30 days cancellation when in fact it's 14 days and then BestBuy has the power or ability to "fix it" on their own, think again. All BestBuy can do to fix their boo-boo is call into to a Sprint customer care line (like any customer would do as well) and try to explain that they made a mistake. A word is good enough for the wise.
Yeah our (Sprint) activation fee went up to $36.00, but that's to ensure the monthly cost is going to stay lower.
Exchange policy changed to 14days verses 30 I believe they did this to reduce some overhead of people returning the phones. There is a $35.00 restock fee.
If you want to return the phone do it with in 3 days that's the only way for the activation charge to be refunded.
Now keep in mind guys/gals if you bank with a credit union you get 10% off your monthly bill, and you don't pay the activation fees.

[Q] T-Mobile S4 Price drop to $579.99

Hello, I noticed today that the retail price of T-Mobile's Galaxy S4 has dropped from $629.99 to $579.99. Is this going to be the new price and for how long? Or is this just the Fathers day discount price. Thanks

Hopefully it stays at $579.99, T-Mobile didn't have any -$50 comment on the price, so the SRP should be solid.

I just got off the phone with T Mobile customer service and asked about this and they told me it is a price drop and not a limited time promotional offer.
But TMoNews is now saying that it's a limited time offer that runs through July 13th. I have a feeling that the promotion was jus tworded poorly and even their customer service people didn't understand how it was originally intended.
Update from TMoNews (See post above for link)
This limited-time promotion is available starting today, June 12, through July 13, 2013, and allows consumers to get the device for less upfront at activation than at the other major national carriers.
Bear in mind that the $579 total cost is with the purchase of an eligible plan. I don't think you can just walk into a T Mobile store and buy one for $579 outright. But I did confirm with customer service that any of the new Value Plans are considered qualifying plans. And that's great for me because my contract expires on June 22nd and I'm switching to the Value Plan and buying the S4 that day!
Also, just worth noting for fun that when I got to that TMoNews.com article there is a giant ad for Sprint at the bottom. Gotta love web ads!

Spoke to account services (retention) about this and it is in fact only going on till July 13th and they cannot give me an adjustment. I would have to return the phone first then I can buy the phone again to get it for that price. It's really stupid if you ask me as it will probably take close to a month or more for me to get a credit and by then the offer will no longer be available. Any one else have any luck getting adjustments?
BTW when you guys call, immediately ask for retention or accounts services as anyone else do not have a clue about anything..specially customer service. Just lie and say you want to cancel or something in your account is wrong.

Did you pay for the phone with a major credit card?
Some cards come with price match guarentees even if the retailers don't. So that if something goes on sale after you bought it the card company or the bank that issues it will refund the difference even if the store won't.
It's certainly worth a call to your credit card company to ask. Worst they can say is no.
haha i got the phone on june 11 the next day the price drops $50 (thats how much tax was)
I called tmobile and they said I needed to return the phone and they would ship me a new one in 2-3 days for $579.00. That won't work as I can not be without a phone for that time. He said to go to store where I bought and they may be able to refund and re-ring at $579 and keep my phone. Will post tomorrow outcome.

$549 here:

Weird NBC sells phones now. Not a bad deal at all.
This doesn't apply to prepaid does it? The reason I ask is that I don't have a valid ID with which to perform a credit check in order to qualify for the "value plans" to buy the phone post-paid.
I hope I can go to T-Mobile and buy the GS4 for this price and then put it on their $30 prepaid. Has anyone found out if this price is only for their postpaid or if I can buy the phone outright and then use it on prepaid?
Thanks

Curious to this outcome. Mine said if I brought it back I would have to pay a $50 restocking fee. The kid on the phone was a real D-bag.

I'm pretty sure you have to get a post paid plan to get the lower price. The offer is pretty clear that is applies with the qualifying plans.
But I'm also sure a T Mobile store will gladly sell you one for full price and set you up with a pre paid plan.
Sent from your phone. You should be careful where you leave that thing.

I had planned to buy the phone online or over the phone. Who knows, maybe I can try and negotiate my way to the $580 for the phone and a $30 prepaid plan.

YMMV, some people have be enable to and others struck out. Try several tmobile stores in your area. Call first to save time and get their name.

Phone listed at $580 on their website, see if u can buy and select $30 prepaid plan the same time. If not see if you can buy online phone, order activation sim kit, and activate plan online when u get sim card.

Store could not do it because postpaid account in which phone was bought was closed since I ported to prepaid $30 plan. Called tmobile customer service and spoke w supervisor. She could not honor price difference since they change prices daily and do not price match within 30 days of purchase date. The don't even match their own price. May try online chat later tonight as last attempt. Something does not sound right here? Any suggestions??

Puts me even more on the fence. Price is right ($99 if I add a new line) but I'm now torn on maybe going to T-Mobile, especially with that new global roaming.

Sigh. Why such a long wait?
So they will essentially be 2 MONTHS behind the other carriers. Probably needed more time to install their super special bloatware.

FYI for those upgrading instead of starting new with Sprint, pre-orders are cheaper on Best Buy's site.
Sprint price - $199.99
Best Buy price - $99.99

Not for existing customers. It showed as $199.99 for me when pricing the upgrade. If i'm doing something wrong, please let me know.

Another Best Buy incentive - $50 gift card via email if you pre-order with Best Buy. Decision made, order placed!
Edit - well, order almost placed. Not going through on the Best Buy website for some reason, just getting a generic "There was an issue while processing your order." message. On phone with them.

What is the difference between ordering the phone at Best buy vs Sprint corporate? Will I still get the same service and support with sprint if I upgrade with Best Buy? I've always wondered this and bought my phones directly from sprint. With the current pricing at Sprint, seems like BB is definitely the better way to go.
I am on a 1600 minute, unlimited texting and data family plan with TEP insurance if it matters.
If you buy from third parties like best buy, sprint will charge u 50 bucks on your account (according to a sprint rep)

I have upgraded through Best Buy and Amazon in the past. Your plan with Sprint does not change. Your Sprint Service/Support does not change. You have the ability to add TEP to your new phone (you may have to call Sprint to do this, but you have a window of time - i think 30 days - to add TEP to any phone).
The only thing I would be wary of is if you are in a grandfathered plan like SERO. Then you need to deal with Sprint directly.
I have never been charged extra by Sprint by going with a 3rd-party. The only possible extra fee (on top of the phone cost) is a $36 activation fee that Sprint charges, as well. Even if Sprint didn't charge this, Best Buy still comes out ahead.
I wonder what the chances are Best Buy will ship earlier or later than Sprint?

As an FYI, I was not able to get the order to process on BestBuy.com, or through the 1-800-BestBuy. I had to go in-store to preorder. And even then, I had to work it out with the mobile manager to get the $50 gift card offer.
Now, that pre-order doesn't commit me to the device, as I haven't actually paid for it yet. So if anyone has any success with BestBuy.com, please let me know!!

My pre-order just seemed to go through smoothly!
And I can confirm you'll have to pay a $36 activation fee with Sprint (not payed with the Best Buy order).

At what point did your order processing fail? Maybe a problem with the "Submit to Sprint" part, or something with your browser? or just bad luck lol
