I would like to test out some of the system apps from the Epic 4g Touch i found here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1262697 - on a GB Epic Rom, but not sure if they will work. Can I just push them into the system/app folder?
Et4g and og epic are very different
The hardware isnt even remotely close to each other
If we had trouble doing it with the sgs variants and ns4g
et4g is down right impossible (actually its just will be a super pain but possible)

Is it possible to port the new voice actions to the epic 1 w/ the widget also?
I tried it out on my Epic and while the voice actions were really really cool imho, it seemed to lag my Epic something fierce and drained the heck out of my battery. Perhaps it truly only works best with dual-core phones. I wanted to be able to stick with it very much though.
I had the version from the Galaxy SII on my Epic 4G before the Epic Touch was released and it worked great. I also like the layout better than the version that is on my Epic Touch.
There is no lag using it on deodexed but otherwise stock EH17 with TWLauncher 4.5.
Well, I was trying the Epic 4G Touch version and I was on the stock odexed EH17 so who knows.
Does anyone have any links they'd care to share? Search isn't showing up with anything.

I know this is prolly a dumb question but does anybody know if any of the roms,themes,etc from the international GSII work on our epic 4G touch?

Basically all the CDMA and Wimax stuff in our ROM's makes them incompatible.
They will most likely work but alot of things will be broken

I've tried Starburst ROM, Criskelo and Lite'ning. They all flash perfectly fine but when my phone boots up I have no service. Any advice? Please help. I'm a noob. By the way I have an SPH-D710 if that helps any.
Try staying on stock and then root with stock kernel
If that works its all good just flash a custom rom on top of that and reflash the rooted stock kernel
If thats a no ho try lost kernel
Also viper rom i think has lost kernel built in

Right now I flashed my phone back to the stock kernel are you saying I should use a different one? Sorry I'm just new to this android game.
Maybe you're doing the same thing I was doing. The Galaxy S2 and Epic 4G Touch are two different phones. The GS2 uses a SIM card, so if you have a GS2 ROM, then you won't have service since it's looking for a SIM card. Check to make sure you're downloading a Epic 4G Touch ROM so that you don't get bricked like I did. -_-

First you need to make sure you're getting the right Roms for your phone...are you confusing epic 4g with epic 4g touch? Two different phones...

You really need to read lightning is a gsm rom for gs2 ...gsm and cdma don't play good together

I can say that it probably wouldn't be that fun of an experience... The E4GT doesn't use a boot.img like the Evo does, it has ramdisk and zImage separate. Samsung modems and drivers would take some work. I believe it uses BML and not MTD.
Not saying it is impossible, but at the very least whoever took that up would have a huge challenge.
I've tried multiple ROMs and even 3rd party camera apps in the market. Works for a picture or two, then half a dozen FC's then a pic or two again.

I'm not new to flashing. They're clean flashes, and all. I'm using jb. It worked fine until I removed my old sdcard Cuz it got corrupted. Then flashed a new ROM. Figured it was ROM specific but its not :banghead:
