[9/23][Trailblazer101] "Stay Awake" and others Re-added :) - Continuum Android Development

Hey Guys
First thing posting after taking a little break from everything is going to be this: "Stay Awake" "Dial-up Networking" "Dock Settings" and "Horizontal Calibration" re-added into settings
I have tested them all (except Dock Settings, because i don't have one ), and they seem to work great
Also! This version of Settings can also disable both Am/Pm or the clock entirely!
I can't take all the credit for this, because I observed Adrynalyne's changes he did for the fascinate, and ported it over for us So say thank you to Adrynalyne if you are really thankful
Now, on to the downloads!

Just Thank Me if you find this helpful, or if you are really thankful, you are welcome to donate to me

lovely! there you are buddy!
gonna get to it manana..

outstanding... the auto rotation might make TW usable... Who knew

It's now possible to auto-rotate TW?? So far the only time I've seen that is when I have it docked.

Question. Where ia the stay awake setting located? I ran through setting menu and didn't see it. Or is it embedded, and the phone stays up even if the screen blacks?
Sent from my SCH-I400 using Tapatalk

I think its under settings-applications-development.....
sent from my XDA phone - its more than a continuum

It was. Thanks nodixe

I seen the xmls that were edited in this mod. I didn't theme my services jar so i think I could overwrite that. Just trying to incorperate into theme (at least personal) because stay awake is needed to use an app Creator though ask
I PMd you also about it, just let me know either way buddy.

[REQ] Lockscreen wallpaper option

Sir toast, if you feel this is in the wrong place, please do move it. I debated here or themes, however it seemed more like a dev task to me and all the QnA threads about this just seem to trickle off..
So here goes. As you may have noticed, we lost lockscreen wallpaper selection when we upgraded to the evo.
I'm asking if any dev out there if it would be possible to pull that option from say the hero and implement it into the evo.
Anybody know if it would be possible or even if there is a high enough demand for it that someone might want to try?
My favorite way of accomplishing this is to use WidgetLocker from the Marketplace. A terrific app.

I've used it, its good, but I enjoy the htc lock as well as not running an app as my lockscreen. I would be more be interested in implementing this without an app.
I would be very interested in this actually. I thought it an odd choice to take away that functionality in the first place.

Any mod to get toggle settings in status drop down??

This was a cool feature in miui recently. Anyone know of a mod or app to get it into your drop down status?

I would also like to know this.
Widgetsoid.

I talked to some dev's they said they're gonna work on it
I couldn't figure out how to get it into the notification drop down.
Care to give a step by step?

widgetsoid -> make widget -> advanced -> notifications [on]
MoreQuicklyPanel is specifically for ICS
my only issue with it is the lack of brightness toggle but I leave it on auto 90%+ of the time anyway

Got it. Thanks. Had to play around with it a bit more. Nice app for sure.

I use notification toggle.
Widgetsoid is free and very customisable. I'm surprised that it works in ICS despite the fact that it was last updated a few months ago

Imm not very techy like this (yet). Especially because my laptop has a broke scree. So I cantt learn to change stuff lime this. But you need to rework parts of the SysyemUI.apk. talk to Nitroglycerine. He did it for the Droid X2.
And to anyone saying stuff aboit Widgetzoid and other related apps, it does not gige you toggle switches in the dropdown/pulldown.it gives you shortfuts to the setting. We dontt want that. We want the actual toggle switches.
Nome of those appd work for me, and I dontt like them. Itss not what I am looking for.
And, BTW, bump on wanting this too. I am glad to hear a dev is cooking something up. Keep us ppsted on the dev, ericerk.

[Q] what does the swagger option do in the ktoonz ROM for the at&t S3?

This is a noob question but what does the swagger option do in this ROM from the pull down menu, now I know my way around this ROM but I'm not entirely sure what the swagger option does?

It gives you some pimp in your step.

It helps you be slick with the ladies! :highfive:
have you also noticed that when you toggle on the swagger, you cant toggle it off. I CANT TURN OFF MY SWAG, BRO!
Same here I been on my swag for like 2 months I'm afraid if I don't turn it off I might not be able to have swagg at all

It actually slows down your data. Tiny elves inside the hat hold your data hostage so the rest of us who didn't turn it on can browse freely. PERFECT CRIME
Toggles the, "Way Known to The Emperor".
It doesn't really do anything it's just a little Easter egg or something.
It says in the FAQ, that it serves no purpose. It is also designed to not turn off. Why would you want to get rid of your swagger?

SPEAK the time on device awake?

Does anyone know of an app that will say the time out loud when you press the power button to turn wake the device???
e.g. so when your in the lockscreen mode.
You could probably get tasker to do it. Good luck though.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
you can try svoice by saying hi galaxy and ask it what time in your location
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Yeah I expect tasker would do it on display on event

I'm sure you can do this with driving mode on (which I previously had set up on 4.1) however I checked again and I can't find the option to read out the time.
Hey, guys
Thanks for your idea, I will try to implement it in my named Cover Algorithm.

Thanks for the replies...
Still no luck though..
I've had a look at Tasker but unless people could be kind and guide me through how to achieve this, i am fairly certain it won't allow me to..
I have however found an app that speaks out loud the time pretty quickly and clearly (Say Time), but automating it to say it when i wake my device (if on loud) is proving more difficult than first anticipated :crying:
Don't worry mate.
I will surely add it in my app in upcoming days.

Hi,
Thanks... I did see your comment "I will try to implement it in my named Cover Algorithm" but i had no idea what you meant..
What app is this???
Please ignore my previous comment.... I have just checked out your apps on the playstore... makes sense now..haha
When do you think you could implement this idea?
Also, would it be possible for this to say the time out loud ONLY IF device is NOT on silent?
Thank you

Thanks for trying out my app.
It will just some time to implement because I am currently working on help & paid version of Cover Algorithm.
Yep, it will be possible to say time when device awakes only if device not in Silent.
Please consider rating the app if you like

Location

Everytime I unlock my note 2 the location icon comes up literatly every time, If I lock the device and then unlock it 10 seconds later its there, I can understand doing it if it was 15 mins or so.
Would this be an app doing this or is it just a samsung thing? Is there a way to tell or does everyones phone do this?

this is not samsung thing, I faced the same thing with some weather apps
I only have two weather apps, BBC and notification weather bother are set as 2 and 4 hours refresh time. Any other clues or apps I can find out using this?

Most likely an app and unless I do a lot of digging (I can't remember the apps name) I would shut off GPS unless needed... Essentials there is an app that can observe your wake lock behaviors and determine what the culprit is (I.e. which app is causing the GPS to trigger).. No one can really help you figure out a solution without knowing this info either... Do some research and see if you can't figure it out as I will in spare time try my best to point you in a better direction

Thank you for the honesty I have had a look at some apps and most weather have hour refresh rates. I thoght automate it could of been it but force closed it and it isn't that app either. Dont know why so many apps are allowed access to this stuff when they don't need it.

i was going to ask if you are using tasker- automate is a lot like it.....but it seems you have eliminated that possibiltiy

I do read them but unless you want the app what can you do? Heck if I read them I would only proberbly have one or two apps installed as all apps ask for loads of permissions they don't need at all that's what I meant.
Anyway found the app, sense v2 flip clock thought it looked the best out of all the look alikes. Gone back to beautiful widgets now and ain't had the location thing back yet. Strange because there is an option to update upon unlocking and I had unticked that so I guess it ignores your preferences.
